Kapa'a is a wonderful base to visit points on the island to both the North and the South. This spot is well-located and walkable to groceries and restaurants. This is a really ideal location, with plenty of shops and restaurants in walking distance and easy drives to many great beaches and places to visit. The condo was very clean and had well thought out amenities, with plenty of kitchenware, and beach items. I cooked there every night in the full kitchen, and appreciated the accessible bathroom. Visitors might want to know that Plantation Hale is undergoing a lot of infrastructure work as well as remodeling of units close to mine; we had a few days of water shut offs lasting a few hours, and intermittent noise from construction. Garden Island Properties staff were friendly, helpful, and responsive. I would recommend this place to anyone as an easy and enjoyable home base for exploring the island.

Location was great, walking distance to the beach and to the plaza with restaurant and some shopping. Check in process smooth, amenities in room were great, beach towels, chairs, ambarella and a small cooler. The reason I am not giving it 5 stars is because the bathroom needed more attention. One of the curtain clips was broken, the shower head seem very rusty like it hadn't been deep clean in a while.

Came to Kaua’i for my son’s basketball tournament. The room was affordable compared to other places around and I thought it was worth the price for sure. It’s a cute little spot filled with pretty much all we needed . The premises was nice and clean all around. Right across the street of the parking area was a path to get to the beautiful beach that you could walk for miles. I also loved that the laundry room was literally right next door to this unit making it extra convenient especially for us since we had to wash my son’s jersey every day I did have to download an app that was super convenient to make payment and let me know when the wash was done. I seen other reviews about the traffic noise but to be honest we could barely hear to at all. It was not a bother to us one bit we never lost any sleep over it . We did have 2 boys that had to use the pull out bed in the living room which the mattress wasn’t so great but I find most pull out beds are all the same if we had a foam mattress to put on it or something would have been better but the boys are young they were just happy not to be in the ground. Other than that this unit was clean and enjoyable and the premises was also clean , quite and safe. I will definitely be back here on my next visit and would recommend this unit to my friends & family who plan on visiting Kaua’i . Thank you for sharing your hale with us to enjoy

This is a nice place for a Kauai stay. It is located about midway between Honolei (sp) and Waimea canyon so you have good access to the entire island. The room was nice although the couch was not the most comforyable to sit on. there is a lot of traffic noise from the highway but if really did not take long to get used to it. We never heard anything at night, The unit is pretty well equiped. It has everything needed for casual cooking. Also, if you stay there be sure to check out the Coconut marketplace just south of you. Wonderful place and lots of food options.

We appreciated how well appointed and well equipped G5 is. Everything you could possibly want or need is provided. Loved the decor and quality furnishings, close access to walking path, marketplace, and good restaurants. Especially glad to have Bluetooth speaker, which really helped disguise the traffic noise. Our only complaint- we like to sit outside on the lanai and enjoy the birds, gardens, sunsets, etc. This isn’t possible at G5 due to the proximity of the highway and very loud traffic. For the those who are busy all day exploring the island, this wouldn’t be a problem. But if you’re looking for a peaceful and serene Hawaiian getaway, this might not be for you.

This is a lovely condo in a great location! We appreciated having the kitchen to prepare some of our meals, and also greatly appreciated the beach chairs & umbrella, beach towels, and cooler for our day trips. Lots of great eateries in the area. Beach is less than 5 minute walk from condo. Kapa’a is perfect location for exploring other parts of the island, as well—quick drive to north, south, and west sides of Kaua’i. We would love to stay here again if we ever have the opportunity to return to Kaua’i.

This condo had everything necessary for a vacation stay. It wasn't fancy and it was a bit dated, but it was clean and had lots of little amenities like beach chairs and coolers etc that facilitated day trips. Access to Longs drugs and Coconut Marketplace came in handy. The Market, though a bit pricey is well stocked and the delivery, bakery, ice cream and coffee shop could satisfy almost any craving more than adequately.Great central location for exploring the remainder of the island. Pool at facility was ok....bar b que and hot tub in proximity.Perhaps the only downside was the beach which was within walkable distance was not conducive to swimming; narrow, rip tides, large trees washed up etc. , though it was quite a pretty view. The large field in between condos and the beach had been taken over by a combination of impromptu campers and some longer term residents( perhaps homeless) who had enclaves that were often messy and uninviting. These blocked access in many cases and many of these folks were a bit sketchy and really didn't put out a welcoming vibe. They clearly saw this as their turf in spite of signs indicating no camping, it obviously was not being enforced. There were many nice beaches nearby; Lydegate Park is about a 5 minute drive and is really nice. Recommend: Waimea, coffee plantation and Poipu Beach on the east side and Ha ena at the end of the road as well as Annie Beach on the West. Lots of quaint places to visit all over, but also lots of spending touristy shops etc if that's what your looking for. Did a flight around the island which was spectacular and in my mind worth the cost...approximately $ 160/ person.Great island for scenery, vegetation and perusing dream homes.

Great central location. Walkable to a lot of eateries. Close parking. Unit has a cooler, chairs and other items available to use. Great communication when needed. Easy check in and out process.
Dislikes:
Shower curtain did not close and water spilled outside the shower. Bathroom did not have extra shower mat. Paying additional cleaning fee however having to make sure you swept prior to check out as well as placing all used towels in bathroom and taking all trash out and dumping in outside trash bin.

This home away from home is located in the perfect spot. Just a couple minute walk to a beautiful beach, sunrise is the best time. 5 minute walk to coconut marketplace. There is a big ABC store for all your needs. This property is located perfect for going north or south. You're right in the middle, limiting your travel time so you can make the most out of your day.
The unit is just as pictured. Clean and very comfortable with a fully stocked kitchen, beach towels and cooler. I saw reviews of road noise, but it didn't seem noisy at all with the exception of an occasional siren. I would definitely stay here again!

It is a great location in Kauai; however too close to a main road that is noisy 24/7. The resort is quite old and needs some updating. The oven was not really usable. The bed was uncomfortable and the patio not pleasant. I don't think this was good value for money

The property was great. Parking was always available. We checked in and walked two minutes to a beautiful beach. Right next to the property is a great market with some good eating options and JoJo's Shave Ice, which we got every night. The place was clean. It was really nice having an air conditioning in the living room and the bedroom. They weren't very powerful, but worked well enough to keep the place comfortable. The pull-out bed was easy and sheets and blankets were supplied.
One of our favorite amenities was that they supplied a bag and cooler, beach chairs, an umbrella, and beach towels. This is important to us because we can't haul all of that stuff on the plane, and we don't want to buy it just for a few days on the island. Our only complaint was that the beach umbrella was broken, so we couldn't use it. And the unit next to us supplied the renters with boogie boards, which would have been a nice touch. I'd recommend the owners invest in a new umbrella and some boogie boards, as this is one of the things we look for in a rental like this.
Overall, the place was great. It's an awesome location that puts you close to Lihue, and at a good halfway point between Princeville and Waimea. Lots of great beaches close by, and good food options. I recommend, and we will probably be back.

We stayed for six days at Plantation Hale Suites unit G5 from October 26-Nov 1, 2022. Our first impression of the property was a little disappointing. The property in general seemed run down and our unit was adjacent to the main road going through Kapaa with lots of road noise except late at night. The condo was small but adequate. The lanai was uninviting due mainly to traffic noise. Although the property wasn't beachfront, it was only a 5 minute walk. We enjoyed walking from our condo several times each day.Our unit was very well supplied in terms of kitchen essentials, especially for seasoning, oils etc. as well as plates, pots, and pans. Laundry supplies were more that adequate. Beach essentials were also great: 4 chairs, a beach umbrella, a nice cooler, and many beach towels. We ejoyed the 5 minute walk to the Coconut Marketplace, especially in the evening.

Our flight got in late but no problem. They have a security guard on duty so he was able to get us into our condo. The overall experience was great. Great location, well equipped condo. My only complaint was the musty smell. I assume it was from the A/C units in the condo. Otherwise, nice layout, great bed, big bathroom and the pool and hot tub were perfect. Right across the street was a nice path down to the beach which was perfect for watching the sunrise. Central on the island so getting to activities was great. Close to shopping. We had a great stay and I would definitely stay here again, if we go back to Kauai!

It was a lovely suite/unit, very clean and super quiet! It was also about a 6 minute walk to the beach but the waves were a bit too aggressive to swim, so we drove to much better and more calm beaches which was a 30 minute drive.
There was a market within walking distance, and an outlet with clothing stores and restaurants next to the market. We really enjoyed our stay and loved that there was even a Lū'au at the Sheraton which was like a 5 minute walk from us!

I used blender daily for healthy smoothies. was good to have AC both in living room & bedroom. lots of small bonuses like cooler bag + beach towels for picnics; we didn't see beach chairs in closet which has so MANY hangers. small mixup as we asked for late check-out as cleaner arrived as we left & company called to apologize. resort staff were pleasant.

The property manager tried to help me get get some kind of refund but the owner wasn’t willing to give us any credit at all. I ended up relocating and had to pay for 3 days at another place as an additional expense. In the end it was a better choice hearing ocean noise versus intense highway noise while I was trying to sleep and have a nice vacation. The unit was clean but old and funky. The place we moved to was much more modern and beautiful. I would not recommend this unit or Plantation Suites because it is too close to the highway and I especially would not stay at G5 being closest to the highway!

I had to remove a star for some slight issues I had with the area around this condo. It is supposedly immediately across the street from a path that leads straight to the beach. You can see it on the map but also there is a photo in the gallery here. The entire street has been boarded up and the area between the building and the beach is overgrown, so beach access is not quite as convenient as it looks. I would have appreciated knowing that ahead of time to better set my expectations, so I assume others would as well. Also, there is a very busy street right behind the unit separated only by a row of bushes and you can hear traffic even while inside with everything closed basically 24/7. Not great for light sleepers like myself, or anyone looking for quiet in their home. Other than that, it's a great and comfortable place and the description is very accurate. The staff is very communicative and even helped me with a lost item, which I very much appreciated.

This condo unit is central to the Kauai attractions. It’s more low key than the big hotels. The pool and hot tub are fine and it’s a short walk to a beach. The units are a bit small and feel dated but our was fine for 2, just ok for 4. I wish there were a dishwasher.

Almost four weeks in Kauai to visit old friends and old haunts. Plantation Hale Suites are a good location choice with ease of access to south side and north shore. Street Burger and Olympic Café are favorite eateries. Wailua is the "best" golf venue, and Na Aina Kai Gardens is a must see spectacular Garden and Sculpture Park.

Wife and I stayed at the Plantation Hale for 8 days. The room was clean, and comfortable. The only draw back was the room is on the same side as the highway. And while some mornings you could open the window and it was nice other times it was much too noisy. Which is not Garden Islands fault. Just be aware that you will hear the road all the time.

A nice, smaller vacation complex in popular Kapaa. Grounds and pools are well looked after. Good access going north or south on the main highway around the island. A bit of a hike to get to the beach which is for experienced swimmers only. Proximity to the main road means constant noise 24/7, don't expect peace and quiet but it's tolerable with the doors closed and ac on. Was very surprised at the lack of available recycle facilities, basically if it doesn't have a monitary refund, it gets throw away - like cardboard (really?) Overall, a reasonable place to stay.

We stay in the condo for almost 2 months. The grounds were very well maintained. We enjoyed the short walk to the beach daily and the convenience of resteraunts and shops. The condo was advertised as having a full kitchen but was missing a dishwasher. The microwave and the refrigerator are past there life and although they still work are very used are in need of being replaced. The unit was clean and served our needs. The property does have three pools but the pool closest to ours was under repair and did not reopen on the date stated. The pools were very clean, well equipped, inviting and sparkeling. The parking was very good and close. We will stay there again in the future.

The condo was very nice except that we listened to 24 hour traffic noise being about 25 feet from the Kuhio Highway. The condo across the hall was being reconstructed and we heard a lot of sheetrock work going on. Also the pool next to the condo was closed until the last 2 days of our vacation. It was close to shopping but the highway becomes a parking lot at certain times of the day. We also had to have the carpets cleaned while there as the carpet was very dirty. My feet and socks got dirty.

Everything went great. The folk at Garden Island Prop. are easy to work with and the condo was very nice. One thing I can tell you is - when we entered there was a very slight smell of cigarette smoke and I found a cigarette lighter outside on the deck placed in between one of the concrete blocks. Someone was smoking in that unit! I personally cannot stand the smell of smoke but it was very slight and not a problem at all. I would like very much to contact you soon to arrange another trip for this year as my granddaughter is appearing in a new production of "School of Rock" in November. I don't have the definite dates set yet but I hope you'll be albe to assist me. Thanks very much for being my "go to" vacation rental people!

Overall very pleased with our rental and service from Garden Island Properties. Photos are accurate. Furniture is in good condition and kitchen has all supplies necessary. There were also beach chairs, a small cooler, and beach towels for our use - which I found very considerate. I would definitely recommend this unit to other renters. Price is very reasonable as well. Only recommendation would be to have a later check out time if possible (ours was 10am) and arrange with hotel staff to provide toilet tissue.

large apartment style setting. close to shops and beach. apartment was clean, had a nice tv. came with all applinaces needed and even had beach chairs and a cooler bag. id stay there again for sure.

This property was in a good central island location. Some road noise in the evening but generally quiet. Beach access limited due to construction fence. Cleanliness of property was questionable - the bathroom counter was sticky and a few other things were not quite clean. But our visit was on the whole enjoyable!

The overall experience was a shade less than ok. The property was not as clean as it should have been, esp the kitchen. The kitchen was not stocked at all - zero with durable commodities such as salt, pepper, coffee, tea, etc. extremely unusual for a vrbo. Pots and pans were so thin as to almost unusable , like placing aluminum foil on electric burners. Knives mashed rather than cut. Overall lighting was poor . Bed linens did not fit and mattress was good for two nights sleep before the body objected. The smart tv that took two controllers to be operated in synchrony took almost the whole stay to figure out. Instructions would have been helpful. The handicap shower could only be turned on a few seconds at a time or the bathroom flooded. But the worst was the constant and loud noise from the main highway that was 30 yes away. The property needs some attention to detail. The pool and spa, and the beach equipment was great.
