The short version is everything was perfect.
Jean was an amazing host, very polite and answered all our questions. Good directions on how to get to the property and she met us there for check-in. She has an amazing yard with many different types of flowering plants. The backyard is filled with birds, and we enjoyed seeing doves and java sparrows every morning. The rental is very clean and in excellent shape, with everything needed to make it a home away from home during our vacation. The location was perfect, allowing just a short drive to downtown Hilo and the shoreline, but away from all the city noise and busy streets at the end of the day. The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful, with only the sound of the frogs at night. Highly recommended and we would consider staying there again.

This is a small cottage next to a private residence in a residential neighborhood. Very cute, with a private entrance. Jean was there to meet us when we arrived and explained to us where everything was. The cottage is thoughtfully equipped and perfect for our needs. It’s a quick drive to shopping and restaurants as well as downtown Hilo. Very convenient if you have a car.

We had a great experience using this as a base for visiting family in the area. I would highly recommend this VRBO when looking to stay in the Hilo area. It is a very comfortable and quiet place .

This is a beautiful cottage tucked away in a residential neighborhood. It comes with all the amenities needed for a short stay. Bed is comfortable, lots of towels, excellent kitchen amenities, and also a well designed living room and outdoor deck to relax or eat. It is designed for privacy. Excellent landscaping with a koi pond, fern groves and many flowering plants. Greeted every morning with the chirping of birds. The area is well lit and the owner provides all the information you need for a comfortable stay.

I was traveling on business and this cottage had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The grounds are beautiful with loads of tropical flowers and a koi pond and the cottage itself is very well maintained, very clean and relaxing. There is no air conditioning if that is important to you, but the area is cool and has a nice breeze blowing which keeps the place cool. I would definitely return to this location for future trips.

Jean thoughtfully created a very warm, efficient small space with great charm and comfort for the guest. The kitchen was well stocked. the bed was comfortable and the location was convenient for exploring the area. Her "welcome package" of various food items to get you settled in was most appreciated. This quaint little cottage sits just outside of the busy downtown Hilo area which makes it very quiet and relaxing. Jean was the perfect host. She checked me in quickly and then basically left me alone to enjoy my stay. She provided a picnic basket full of food upon my arrival which was very thoughtful. Also, after discovering that I had forgotten my toothbrush I was delighted to find that a travel toothbrush was waiting for me in the bathroom for just such an emergency! You can’t go wrong with this place.

This guesthouse is in a quiet neighborhood just a few minutes drive from all the things we wanted to do in Hilo. It was nice to start every morning with breakfast on the lanai where we could enjoy the little sunken garden.

The owner was extremely helpful and friendly, a welcome basket was provided that contained local food and essentials along with fresh fruit which was very thoughtful. It's not too far out of Hilo town and we had a hire car so it was a convenient drive to the volcano and other attractions.
This tiny house is a lovely place to stay surrounded by a beautiful garden with lots of local birds and a resident turtle.
