Maui Sands is a gem offering old-world Hawaiian charm. It's a calm, serene place with beautiful, lush grounds located directly on the ocean. The unit, itself, is beautifully remodeled using the best materials.

Maui Sands is a peaceful, low density ocean-front condominium complex offering vintage old Hawaiian charm. Located on the most desirable west side of the island in Honokowai at the northern end of Kaanapali. We are low density and geared towards relaxation. The sundeck offers a perfect perch to watch the breathtaking sunsets while simultaneously looking at the beautiful islands of Molokai and Lanai. Turtles are often
spotted, and during whaling season, there are so many of these majestic animals that one visitor referred to it as "whale soup!" Monk seals, spotted eagle rays and spinner dolphins are also spotted from the property.

Unit 719 is a private, second-floor unit that has been totally remodeled, offering hardwood floors, solid cherry cabinets, granite and glass mosaic tiles in the kitchen and granite and travertine in the bathroom. The unit offers beautiful furnishings, two flat-screen TVs, Wi-Fi (Motorola SURFboard SBG6580 300-400Mbps downstream and 120Mbps upstream). and original artwork. The living room sofa opens up to a queen-size comfortable bed offering convenience to families. A PakNPlay and a high chair are available for a small fee. The kitchen is completely stocked and the unit has both ceiling fans and air conditioning.

Three parallel reefs in front of the complex offer beautiful snorkeling and many conveniences are located within walking distance of the condo. For example, nearby, there is a large grocery store, health food store, fish market, farmer's market (on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays), the ABC store, a gas station, a coffee shop, ice cream shop, pizzeria, Subway, Mexican food, Duke's restaurant, etc. Old Lahaina town is only five miles away and the Kaanapali beach resort is only two miles away, offering shopping, golf, spas, restaurants, and all types of water activities.

Smoking in or outside of the unit and pets are not allowed. A parking spot is assigned to the unit.

Our check in time is 5pm and check out is 11am.
Please enjoy full use of #719 and the grounds of Maui Sands II while you are here. The exception is the owners lock out. Please do not open any locked closets or cupboards.
There is the sundeck as well as lounge chairs across the oceanfront lawn of the property for sunbathing. There is also a BBQ located at the bottom of the ocean side stairs for guest and residents use.
Please note this property does not have any shared pool access, but the proximity to the ocean makes it absolutely ideal!

Please take advantage of the wonderful Farmers Market across the street. They offer locally grown produce, and hold an outdoor market 3 days a week. There are many lovely restaurants and eateries nearby, and more located across the island. We have some of the recent guidebooks in the condo for you to use while you are here, and we are more than happy to make recommendations as well.

Maui does have a public bus system, and works great for getting around West Maui. The bus stop is located just south on the road in front of the ABC store. If you want to wander further afield you will want to consider renting a car. I am happy to make recommendations for you.

*This unit does have AC that is more than adequate to cool the space, and is located in the living room. There are both ceiling fans and floor fans in the living room and bedroom. Please note that as Maui has some of the most expensive electric in the US, we keep it on a timer to mitigate costs.
*We have a 5pm check in and 11am check out unless prior arrangements have been made.
*We take your safety and well-being seriously. We have a comprehensive cleaning and sanitizing program for this property. Our cleaning service and on-site staff are spending as much time as necessary to make sure that all areas of your rental are thoroughly cleaned before you check in.
We ask you to plan ahead as we may not be able to allow early check ins and late check outs as often as we would like.

This property on the ocean is an older building, so the rooms are relatively spacious with a nice balcony and mature jungle garden setting; and this unit is nicely renovated. We enjoyed listening to the waves at night and the birds in the morning. The neighborhood consists mostly of very large resorts, with the beach and many decent eating options within walking distance.

My family and I spent a wonderful stay with the ocean less than 50 yards away. The nights were filled with ocean sounds that sent us into a wonderful sleep. The neighborhood is located near many areas to shop, snorkel, or just walk around enjoying the beautiful scenery. We would definately stay here again.

We spent all of our time exploring the sands and waters and joined a luau at the hyatt right down the street. Sea turtles are everywhere and the reef right off the property kept us busy for three glorious days! We highly recommend this space. My 9 year old daughter says "this is the best beach ever" and we are from San Diego, so that says a lot!

The location of the property is nice and we liked having designated parking so we didn't have to worry about finding a spot. It's a great place to watch sunsets and it was a short beautiful drive to lots of beaches and places to eat. The condo had everything we needed. My only issue, and please take it with a grain of salt, is they have an AC unit in the main living space but no AC in the bedroom. If you leave the windows and bedroom door open it's cool in the morning but my wife and I had trouble sleeping because with the windows open you hear every conversation of people coming home late and when we got home in the evenings to go to bed it was 78 in the bedroom which is warmer than we're used to. My mom and dad would say that 78 is freezing so again take it with a grain of salt. Overall it was a great value and we would stay there again.

The place is nice enough, doesn't have a community pool to use fyi. I understand the electric bill is very high in Maui but the timer on the AC was ridiculous. It only has max a 4 hour timer on it so waking up every morning at 2 to 3am hot just to have to turn it back on was horrible. No other condos I have stayed at in the 10 years I have been coming here has timers on their AC but a thermostat to control the space temp. If you don't mind having to wake up to turn cooling back on then this place is good enough to stay at. Everything esle was fine. The person in charge of the place was very responsive to answer any questions. Thank you for letting us stay at this place but I won't be renting this place again strictly for the AC timer reason. Thank you.

My husband and I stayed here in March of 2022 and overall were really happy with the condo. It's in an older building with fewer units, and we really liked the friendly, quiet, homey ambiance. The unit is reasonably comfortable, and the lanai overlooks a lovely garden space. We also loved being close enough to the ocean to hear it at night even if we couldn't see it! The kitchen was also well-stocked for preparing meals. The condo is close to some really terrific and convenient places to eat, and that was a definite plus. Bear in mind that with convenience comes some traffic noise. I do think the online description of the unit and property needs updating. Yes, there is a shoreline and beach behind the property, however from what we could see there was no way to access it from the seawall. You can enjoy the view but you can't sit on the beach or swim. I think it's also worth mentioning that there is no washer-dryer in the unit or in the condominium complex itself. If you need to do laundry, you'll have to drive to the laundromat in Lahaina. We love staying in West Maui and in this particular neighborhood. Mahalo for the welcome!

I loved the location. It is a seconds walk from the ocean with an observation deck. We saw dolphins, crabs and turtles. There is snorkeling right outside the building. There was only one issue and I know it is hard to handle. There were quite a few ants in the place when we arrived. I know that is an island wide issue and I don't cast blame on anyone, but, when I woke up the first morning and had ants crawling on my cell phone on the night stand next to the bed, it was a little surprising. It did not ruin our time at all; I just mention it so that if there are people who would freak out over this, just understand that Maui has an ant problem. Otherwise, 10 stars across the board (I know it is a 5 star rating system, but, we did love the property)

We stayed here for our last few nights of our Hawaii trip. We were in Hawaii for 8 nights so we experienced a lot already and really appreciated the homey feeling of this vrbo. There are better beaches in Kaanapali but right outside this vrbo you can catch amazing sunsets. The location is great, next to some good non hotel restaurants and grocery stores which we enjoyed.

I stayed alone and it was so very nice. The place is clean, great walking distance to food trucks & Farmers Market. I would definitely stay here again. It felt like more of a local spot than touristy which is my ideal.
