This studio is in a great location in a quiet, nice neighborhood only about an 8 minute stroll from Poipu Beach. It’s small and clean with a comfy bed and well-equipped kitchen. And manager Dan was always helpful with any questions or issues. If you’re looking for a luxurious, spacious sunny space where you can linger, entertain, and sip mai tais on a deck, this is not the choice for you. But, if like us, you wanted a good, basic, reliable non-hotel base location from which to do many great Kauai activities, this studio is a great grab. Would do it again. Oh, and don’t miss the dusk evening strolls to watch dozens of green turtles come ashore for the evening!

The Beachcomber is a quiet / comfortable studio condo with a kitchenette, closet, bath/shower, and king size bed.
The kitchen is pretty well equipped and the outside grill is just a bonus. We initially thought the refrigerator was not working properly, but we just put too much room temp food in there and it took a while to cool it. It functions fine.
The sliding glass door is a bit of a trick to lock, but it works fine as well.
The property is close [1 block ] to the beach / sunset views and convenient to the airport, grocery, restaurants, etc.
Laundry facilities are excellent and much appreciated.
Warning: If you feed the chickens, they will become your best friends.

The studio is in a great location with an easy stroll to Poipu beach; so if you are going to be out and about all day, this would be a fine, reasonably priced crash pad. But if you are looking for a peaceful respite, I would not recommend. I needed to get some work done during my week stay and almost every day had leaf blowers, lawn mowers, and weed wackers going. For hours (either at this property or neighboring properties). The place is tired and not well kept - light switches fritzed out, coffee maker had mold, pots and pans were stained, bathtub had a hasty paint job to hide the rust. The place is dark and loud. You hear every conversation, shower, and toilet flush from the other vacation units in the building. Access to laundry is a plus and the local treats left in the fridge were a big plus (yum mac nuts!).

Access to the property was very easy. The place was perfect for my wife and I. The beach was a short walk away. The property owner was very quick to respond to my inquiry about access to the pool and fitness center. Having access to the pool and gym is just a short drive away. We enjoyed the property very much! Thank you!

This place was a perfect place to stay for our first trip to Kauai! Location was great, being only about a 5 minute walk to Poipu Beach and a good central location to other spots on the island (Waimea Canyon, Hanalei, and airport.) The place was clean and met all of our needs. Would recommend!

Not enough lighting On the path to find the place flying in late at night. Mold in the bathroom, shower and on the shower curtain. Only one kitchen lightbulb worked. The door lock was hard to use chicken and rooster poop. Everywhere on the lanai was very overgrown on the path getting to the condo.

We enjoyed our time on Kauai so much. We loved the location of this property. We appreciated having beach chairs and a cooler available for our use. Some of the draw backs were the location and accessibility of the pool. We feel like that was not explained well at all. Visitors need to be told up front that it’s a 30.00 per day charge and a first come first serve. And it is not conveniently located.
Also, It would have been nice to have had more than 2 bath towels, especially since there is no housekeeping service.
Finally, we had read in the description before we rented that the bathroom was not clean but, we were surprised at how unclean it really was.
Despite these concerns we loved our time on the island and found this location perfect for all that we wanted to do.

Just a short walk to a couple great beaches and tide pools. Restaurants also nearby. The property was lush and the fridge was stocked with local snacks. The lanai was nice for an afternoon beverage and grilling.

We didn't hate it. It is close to the beach. It is reasonably priced. It is private. Everything you need is here. The laundry is a bonus. The landscaping is lush. Patio is private. The bed was comfortable. The management will return calls very quickly. Parking is a problem, many times at night all the.spaces were taken by other renters. The reason we would not come back is the horrible noise when people took showers in the other units. This unit is tucked under the house. It tends to be dark. There is plenty of lighting to offset the lack of natural light. I do not think the cleaning people are doing a great job. The jacuzzi tub is old but I didn't use it because it didn't appear clean. We wore our flip flops when showering. The unit does seem a bit worn. You will hear lots of noise from the other units, running water and foot steps, slamming doors. Lots of good lots of not so good.

We came into Kauai and stayed at Poipu. Saw turtles and monk seals. Give great food, love food trucks! The property was perfect for us! Had more stuff in it than we were expecting, pleasantly surprised!

It was a great place and location and the gift basket of snacks in the fridge was really nice. The only negative feedback is that bathroom felt uncleaned. There was a bathing suit left by a previous guest and mold on the shower curtain.

This property was great for our visit to Kauai. Very close walk to Poipu Beach, where the sea turtles surf and sleep.
The bathtub could have been a bit cleaner - the jets seemed to be a bit dirty, but other than that it was great!

The location is good with Brennecke’s and Poipu Beaches only a 5-10 min walk away. We never had issues with parking at the apartment which is nice and the host provided some complimentary local snacks upon our arrival which was a really thoughtful touch! Also, it really is nice have have a place with A/C since it is not as common as expected at other properties on the island. The only downsides are you can get some noise from the unit above (this unit does have really nice high ceilings though so that could play a role) and the bathroom/shower could use some deep cleaning/updating compared to the rest of the unit. Overall, recommend this unit given the price point and location!

It was a cute studio that had everything we ever needed… nice large and comfy bed with fully equipped kitchen and grill. Although we didn’t use any of the appliances it’s definitely nice to have if you want to make your own meals. Studio was actually a decent size for the two of us. They even gave us a nice treat basket with some local products! Place was clean and the location was great! Poipu beach was like 5 min away! This place had Parking on property, AC, beach chairs, beach towels, and laundry room for your comfort!Definitely recommend this place!

Unit was in a great location! It had everything we needed, we appreciated the full size fridge, the very comfortable bed, a gas grill of our own, the dishwasher, and all the soaps, shampoo, conditioner, lotion needed. Welcome basket of goodies was were nice, Laundry was free to include the detergent. Parking right on site was always available, and we loved the short walk to beach. We cooked most of our meals, and had everything we needed, in good condition. Property manager was very responsive with questions. We did experience some noise from the other units, we could hear water running and maybe blenders or garbage disposals from other units (sounded a bit like drilling) at times. And towards the end of our stay a family moved in upstairs, we could hear the kids running back and forth. Only once we experienced very loud noise, thinking it was a tub running jets while the water to fill it was also running, it was loud enough we couldn’t hear our tv, but it wasn’t during quiet hours although we let our neighbors know how loud it was, and didn’t hear it again

So pleasantly surprised! Sweet, comfortable, functional unit. Perfect for 2. Clear entry instructions, convenient parking. Well-appointed, great location. Charming lanai, short walk to a surprisingly great snorkeling area (the protected "baby beach"). We made good use of the beach chairs, cooler & beach towels provided.
The kitchen had everything we needed including the welcome goodies (coffee, cookies, nuts). It would have been helpful to have a few condiments, although with Covid we understand the concern and maybe we should have brought some small packets with us. It was a trade off to buy some in larger quantities then have to waste them (salad dressing, ketchup, mustard, oil, etc.).
Also loved the little building kitty who paid us a few visits since we missed our own.
Overall, a great stay. We'd definitely book again!

For the location and price, this unit is very good. We enjoyed the patio and had breakfast out there most mornings. There is a dual top hotplate, which we used to scramble eggs each morning, as well as a toaster oven and coffee-maker. We appreciated the welcome snacks and took them on our daily excursions. Also, being within walking distance to Poipu Beach was a major bonus.
One thing to be aware of, you may be able to hear the visitors in the other units both above and next door to you. We had very noisy next-door neighbors our entire stay and could hear their conversations clearly given there is a connecting door between the two units. My recommendation to the owner is to remove that door and replace it with a solid wall to diminish the potential for noise traveling between the units.

Very clean, modern design, comfortable bed. First morning I was awakened at 5:30 with very loud sprinklers for 30 minutes. Couldn't get back to sleep. Caretaker said he would fix that. Next night, there were occupants upstairs (I thought I had a single family unit, turns out to be like a 3plex or 4 plex). The upstaris children woke up at 5 am and were running all around and talking for the rest of the morning! With a wood frame building, this reverberated like a huge drum and once again, I couldn't sleep in and enjoy my wee hours of sleep. For the price paid, I won't go back here again.

The beachcomber studio is extremely close to the popular Poipu Beach. The kitchen supplies (and patio grill) allowed us to cook our own meals for the 2 nights we stayed here, and the convenience and ease of booking and instructions for the stay allowed us to make the most of our time on the south side of Kauai. This place is perfect for a couple looking for a romantic getaway, outdoor adventures, and/or just lounging on the beach.

My husband stayed in the Dolphin suite at Hideaway Cove for business. The unit was clean and comfortable. Herb is very responsive and helpful. Hideaway Cove was the perfect location for my husband to stay as he was doing work at a local restaurant that was only 3 minutes away in Poipu Beach. Would definitely recommend and stay here again.

Fantastic! For us we wouldn't have wanted anything more than this lovely little room, and the bed was the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in! They supplied everything from eski and beach chairs, to cocktail shakers! There wasn't one utensil or equipment that we went looking for and couldn't find. Bert and Gale were also very lovely to deal with and the whole experience had a very home away from home feel. The only downfall was that the walls are very thin and we had a very 'enthusiastic' family staying next door but besides that, if we made it to Kauai again, we would definitely be returning to hideaway cove!

The Hideaway Cove Villas are superb! The villas are beautiful, clean and full of anything you could possibly need. The location is ideal as well. For those who are concerned about booking on-line, DON'T BE! You will not be disappointed! Herb & Gale are not only gracious hosts, but have thought of everything. My family & I love it there and we will be going back again for our 3rd visit this August! Thanks Herb & Gale!
