Everything was great, including getting to meet the owners, they are lovely. It was just a bit pricey for us. I would have been more satisfied with the splurge if things were consistently ‘upscale’ as described but … some of the appliances and fixtures are older and not in great shape. We also felt a bit of a lack of privacy with a window that doesn’t have a shutter that faces the staircase that is the access for both upstairs rentals. Our first night we had the upstairs guests come up the stairs at night and they waved at us while we were sitting inside lol. Anyway, I was hesitant to mention this, but felt kinda like for the price point and description of the rental as ‘upscale’ it was somewhat of a disappointment. If it wasn’t priced as it is none of those things would have mattered to me at all.
It didn’t bother us too much, but others might benefit from knowing that the unit is not air conditioned. It does have good ceiling fans, but was consistently around 82f/28C inside at night.

This was a unique and wonderful place to stay. Lava stone wall, bamboo floor, beautiful staircase through lush plants up to the flat, amazing view, and short walk to one of the world’s most beautiful beaches. We had a wonderful time and felt well taken care of; communication was great.

Such a lovely rental! Feels like home :) The inside was beautiful, the deck was gorgeous. But having your very own parking place in Lanikai is priceless! Great, fast walk to the most beautiful beach in the world.

Perfect location in Lanikai for a short walk to Lanikai beach. Amazing balcony views of the Mokes. Owner provided beach chairs and equipment for use, which made the beach experience even better! Loved this place.

This was the perfect place for my wife and I during our stay in Kailua. Michelle was a great host and very personable. The beach was a few minutes walk from the house and there were chairs and equipment available. We look forward to returning.

My husband and I stayed for a week for our belated honeymoon. The property was absolutely magical. We watched the sunrise qith our coffee every morning, sat on the lanai enjoying the breeze and the sounds of tropical birds, and took breathtaking hikes and walks from the property. We will return as soon as we can!

Everything we needed was in the house. Short walk to beach access, beautiful view of water and the mokes. Covered lanai was perfect for am coffee and reading!!

I was disappointed the porch offered almost no view. Standing in one area of the bedroom, the view was magnificent..
The house is dated.
It was not very safe. The driveway is very steep as are the stairs.
As my husband was packing the last morning he had quite a fall so know that without inadequate and non working lighting and limited handrail, you must be diligent.

We loved the location - clean place, comfortable bed, great deck, etc. Positive stuff is for real. We did have some issues that the owners or management company need attend to:
The Webber bbq is dangerous. The new handle that was welded on conducts heat in a serious way. Not good choice of materials for a DIY fix.
Also, we were given just 1 roll of TP and had to buy bbq briquettes that would light. That was definitely a bummer.
You gave use the wrong WIFI code in the email. Lucky, we found a faded wifi password on the fridge that worked.
Bikes are a bit unsafe (rust). I did use and love the rust bucket, however. Seats wobble. The tires were flat. Chains have not seen oil since the 80s.
How about a real coffee maker or at least a plastic solo coffee filter holder? Appliances are old and give the space a kind of old feel (otherwise, we loved it). The Keurigs or whatever did not work.
It was indicated that we had access to our own beach chairs. Other guests in other units decided to access them instead. Maybe clarify boundaries?
Directions to the specific unit would have been helpful at 2am arrival (we went up the steps, not the driveway, and did not realize the door was to south).
Hopefully, these notes will go some way in turning a great place into a safe, fabulous place.

We loved this location in Lanikai. It was super quiet, has a huge lanai and spectacular views! The house was very clean and had all the amenities we needed. The beds were both comfortable and there's a great breeze from the open windows. There are a lot of steps. And there's no stove, but an electric frying pan. Highly recommend!

Overall this home is in a nice location in the beachside community of Lanikai. The deck is nice and has a good partial view of the ocean and lush surroundings. We had a few issues but overall we had an okay stay.
Unfortunately, even after communicating with the manager twice, we weren’t ever able to get hot water to the home. Cold showers were invigorating but not that desirable, especially with kids. The screens and home generally do not keep out pests such as spiders, ants, lizards, etc. There was only one towel when we arrived but we were able to access 1-2 more in the garage bins. Overall nothing that was insufferable, just not in keeping with the other places we’ve stayed in Kailua.

Stayed here with my 3 adult children. Wonderful place, clean, decorated lovely. Loved the outdoor deck for relaxing and visiting with a cup of coffee in the morning or a cocktail at night. Walking distance to Lanikai beach. Only downfall, according to my one daughter, there is no air conditioning. However, depending upon the time of year, you can live without it and enjoy the Hawaiian air and trade winds. We would stay there again.

My wife and I were absolutely thrilled with this listing. From start to finish, our host Mimi made us feel absolutely welcomed. She will give you as much privacy as you desire yet simultaneously is available to check in on you for any need that might arise. She is incredibly attentive, and is a very warm and pleasant lady to deal with.
Now for the actual property itself - we were perfectly comfortable with the beds and we love the rustic Island interior. I think there is actual lava rock in the wall and the kitchen counters are made with real rainforest marble. The bathroom is perfectly decent and we really like the rain model shower head.
My wife and I made full use of the kitchen and the incredible balcony everyday. We thoroughly enjoyed cooking breakfast and you will find everything you need here between a toaster, coffee maker, electric skillet and mini oven. We looked forward to sitting outside every single day and looking out at the ocean.
And then of course, there is the obvious - access to the most coveted beach in all of Oahu. You can probably get to the sand in less than 5 minutes while hauling Beach chairs, a beach tent, and supplies for the day. No need to worry about parking! It really was everything we hoped it would be and more.
Thanks to this listing, this has been far and above the best trip I have ever had to Hawaii. We don't plan to stay anywhere else the next time we come to Oahu!

This property is located in a very nice, beautiful neighborhood just a couple of blocks from the most beautiful beach in Oahu! They have everything you need for the beach, the front porch is lovely, and the beds are comfortable. We were happy to be there for a week!

Location is everything at this property! Beautiful view from the Lanai. A little tight for 2 adults and 2 teenagers, but we definitely made it work and spent most of the time outside on the lanai. The only complaint is LOTS of rust- the refrigerator, the beach chairs, and the bicycles. Also, some clothes were left in a drawer from previous occupants (which we just left there).
We couldn’t find beach towels, and thankfully found some before the property manager responded the next day.
Overall, it’s an amazing location and adorable house! We have already recommended to others and would love to stay again. Mahalo!!

This is NOT luxury, upscale nor meticulously clean. Everything was super dated, floors were awfully sticky with a bug problem, and WiFi was absolutely horrendous. It was an uncomfortable stay for us. The single positive feature of this place is the distance to the beach, but that wasn’t worth the stay, especially at this price.

This was our first stay at this beautiful property and it was a wonderful experience. First the landlord Michelle was extremely personable, helpful, and was a pleasure to meet. The property is in a great location on a hill with views of the ocean and short distance to Lanakai beach. The accommodations were clean and comfortable. The pill box hike just down the road was a good exercise activity with rewarding views from the top. We would look forward to returning here in the future.

Lanikai has the beach beach in Hawaii and it is a short walk from this rental to this stunning beach. Unfortunately, that's the best part about this rental. The accommodations are very mediocre (e.g. beds are Murphy beds and not very comfortable), the WiFi is terrible and there was no television reception during our three night stay. We were there in May and it was already hot, and without A/C or crossflow, it was sticky and hot at night. Everything was a bit dated and the incredibly steep walk from the carpark to the rental makes this an impossible place to stay for anyone with any mobility issues.
The best beach in Hawaii, and possibly the country, is just a short walk away, but that is, by far, the best part of this rental.

My wife and I had an exceptional experience here. Breezy, beautiful views. Large deck where we spent our evenings listening to waves and having cocktails. Beds were comfortable. Short walk to the beach which is no trouble even with chairs. The weather was great for us, but I could imagine if it were warmer you might need to use the fans inside. But it’s Hawaii, that fresh air is fantastic!

This VRBO was a treat for my friend and I traveling. The view from this space is surreal and you can see Lanakai beach from the balcony. The interior itself was also well decorated and suited our needs. There were issues with amenities. The WiFi did not work and we weren’t able to get ahold of the owner as much to troubleshoot some other issues. But location wise, you really can’t beat it.

Being able to look out to the Mokulua Islands every day was a huge blessing.
This place is very cute. Two beds. Very clean. We slept great. But the selling point is the location, you can't get a better one than this!
The bathroom is very small and there's no washer and dryer (those were the only negatives). But everything else this place offers more than makes up for that. The laundromat is less than ten minutes away. And there is an outdoor shower for coming back from the beach.
If you stay here you will love it!
