The house was terrific with a great kitchen, several comfortable communal spaces, and nicely appointed private spaces. Consequently, our party could happily spend 10 days doing a variety of activities: reading, playing ping pong, watching TV, doing yoga -- all interspersed with outside fun, including walking the beach path, swimming in the bay, snorkeling and body boarding at nearly Hapuna beach. The house was spectacular -- the beds and furniture comfortable, the kitchen well appointed, the outside space peaceful. We would love to spend more time at Hale Moe' Uhane.

I used to live in Puako so coming back here was nostalgic. There’s something magical about this place. My husband and I came with some good friends and thoroughly enjoyed our time here. This house has almost everything you could need. Loved playing ping pong and having so much space was nice. Really loved the evenings there on the lanai with the trade winds and the brightest stars you’ll ever see. The kitchen was nice and open and easy to cook. This was such a great spot. I would highly recommend staying here. I’ve stayed at quite a few air b n b’s and this one is one of my favorites.

The property was as pictured and what you cannot see in photos is that it was fully stocked -- every room had been detailed to be fully livable. We loved the outdoor shower, wrap around veranda, BBQ and hang out area. So grateful for the beach gear too, the colorful beach umbrella gave us much needed shade on many afternoons at nearby Hapuna Beach. Thank you Alex!!! We hope to be back soon.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Hale Moe' Uhane! This house is so beautiful! The photos don't do it justice. We loved the neighborhood, and beach access points. Our favorite was the Keyhole down the street, where we found fantastic snorkeling! The house was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed! We barbecued one night, and played ping pong on other nights! We enjoyed dinners at Meridia, Canoehouse, The Big Island Brewhaus, and the Fish and Hog. We saw wild pigs, turkeys, lots of egrets and other birds. We had plenty of space for three couples. We hope to return soon!

Beautiful, well-appointed home steps from the beach. Spacious and comfortable for our family of 6 adults. House was well-equipped with beach and kitchen amenities as well as toiletries. Lovely quiet and friendly neighbourhood. We would definitely recommend this home for your next holiday.

This beautiful home is so well equipped and designed, on a quiet street in Puako Beach. It’s clear that the owner has devoted considerable attention to making the property welcoming and comfortable for guests, with everything you need in the kitchen, four spacious bedrooms, and beach supply room. The location is simply outstanding. A 3-minute walk to the beach allows whale watching, turtle viewing and gorgeous sunsets. Nearby resorts offer restaurants, shopping and other amenities, but relaxing in this private getaway is a pleasure unavailable at more crowded hotels. This was a family vacation of a lifetime.

We were two grandparents, two sons, one daughter-in-law and two grandchildren 2 1/2, and 6. We were all very comfortable
The granddaughters loved playing tag on the lawn. The adults loved the surf break at the end of the road. One son rented a kayak for the week and went fishing.. We all loved the tide pools across the street and snorkeling there. We had lovely dinners each night by bbq and kitchen. Loved the well stocked kitchen.
We tried to eat outside but the light was insufficient (idea for improvement)
Loved the neighborhood feel there, not resorting. Everything worked well.

You can walk across the street and see the ocean, very quiet neighborhood. The only poop happens was our main air conditioner was out for over half our 10 day stay. No offers trying to make it right with rental company on a partial refund. Just a sorry

Our 1 year old Granddaughter had a blast. The customer service was the best we’ve ever had using VRBO. Alex and Mary were so accommodating and helpful. We will definitely stay here again! Our group of 5 adults fit with room to spare. The home was tastefully designed and stocked with everything we needed for the visit. We spent many mornings lounging about on the back deck before starting our day. The snorkeling at the 'end of the road' is some of the best on the island. I'd go again in a heartbeat.

Hale Moe’ Uhane (Dream House) was delightful! There are plenty of dishes, pots/pans, condiments, beach mats/umbrellas, beach chairs and mats. The yard and the outside living area not only provided a relaxing view but also refreshing afternoon cross-breeze. We loved the wraparound deck and all the birds we saw from it.
The tide pools and snorkeling are right across the street. We saw plenty of fish, turtles, small blacktip sharks and even a small ray.
2Papayas is a great management company; we enjoyed working with them.

Incredible home base for Kona adventures. As per the description the house is perfect for families of all ages. Proximity to many big island attractions helps lend to active visitors. For our little ones, it was the perfect spot. We’d stay again in a heartbeat.

This is the BEST house and area to call “home” for 2 1/2 weeks. The first week our kids and their partners joined us, the second week friends from Colorado. Everything about this house worked for us - a nice large kitchen for group cooking, easy access to the best beaches (Yes, we swam with the turtles!) and snorkeling, and our own banana tree! The location was perfect for adventures to Hawi and Pololu - for visiting Waimea and all the amazing outdoor markets - and for traveling the Saddle Road to Hilo and the Volcano National Park. Mary and everyone at 2Papayas were so helpful. This is a MUST for anyone who wants a more “neighborhood” feeling to their stay in Hawaii. WOW!

Three generations of our family ranging from 4 through 79 each found something to love about our Christmas stay in the Dream House. The oldest took the youngest out each morning early to the tide pools. The middle agers used rented bikes to explore and all of us liked using the very well stocked kitchen. A good thing as dinner reservations for our large group were not to be had. We attended a luau at the Waikoloa Beach Marriott (reservations made before leaving home) which had terrific entertainment representing many Polynesian cultures. We spent many afternoons at Beach 69, never finding it too crowded. The most popular beach, Hapuna, usually had what seemed thousands of cars in the parking lot which didn't appeal to us in the intimate part of the world. I can't say enough about how comfortable and well outfitted this house is and all the turtle sightings were a lovely bonus.

This property was located in the perfect spot. We were familiar with the area so we knew we wanted to stay here. The house is located towards the end of the street, so there was never a lot of traffic. It was quiet and peaceful. Also great for a daily walk. There are no streetlights, so the stars at night were as bright as could be. We went across the street daily to see the sea turtles resting on the lava or feeding. The location was central to all of the places we like to visit. Have been coming to the island for many years but usually stay in a condo....brought a couple of friends this time, so opted for a house. Would definitely stay here again, and again. The house itself was fully stocked with everything one needs, and more! The outdoor shower was used daily, as one does not typically have this feature at their own home...lol! Comfortable, clean, and just like home. Mahalo for sharing your home with us.

This place exceeded our expectations. It was very clean and very well stocked with everything you could possibly need. The beds were comfortable and the AC kept the temperature comfortable, too. It was a very short walk to the beach/tide pools, which made it so convenient for anyone who wanted to go to the beach. The tide pools are great for snorkeling and it’s so special to see the turtles sleeping on the rocks. Mary was quick to help when we needed it during our stay, too. Overall it was a fantastic home and we would definitely love to stay here again. Highly recommend!

We totally enjoyed the trip and will stay here again. The pictures don't really do the place justice. The lawn was a great place to hang out after snorkeling across the street. Had plenty of room for all 8 of us and it was a great trip, mainly because of the house set up. Thank you for providing such an awesome spot for visiting a great island.
