Your own private acre! We know this house is fabulous! We vacationed on this island for ten years before we found it and we knew then we'd found the perfect place for us!

Being travelers ourselves, we hate hidden fees. We never charge for additional guests.

Designed for optimum tropic living, this house has vented vaults to release the warm rising air, ceiling fans and two sets of french doors to swing open during the heat of the day to allow the trade winds to blow through. There are three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, and an expansive wrap around porch with outdoor living, eating, a porch swing with a jungle view and even a swinging bed for your enjoyment.

This home has all new appliances, furniture, carpet, new pillow-top mattresses, and all the comforts of home sitting on one lush acre of green grass with avocado trees and regal palms blowing in the breeze. Lots of privacy and lots of adventures to be had nearby!

Located conveniently between Hilo, Volcano, and the artsy little town of Pahoa, there are so many exciting things to do. Things we never miss; swimming at Carl Smith Beach Park (swim in a white sand-bottomed lagoon and sunbathe in a park-like grassy setting), enjoying the fresh produce, jewelry and trinkets at the farmers markets (in Maku'u 5 minutes away and in another in Hilo), Visiting Volcano National Park (check ahead to see if lava is flowing!), eating in charming Pahoa restaurants, and soaking in the local culture Wednesday evenings at Uncle Roberts Kalapana market (a great place to have dinner, listen to music, have a cocktail and watch the locals dance the hula!) We'll leave you a binder with all our favorite things to do and how to get there! Hope you enjoy it as much as we do. Much Aloha! Registration Number: TA-194-704-7936-01, GE-194-704-7936-01

My wife and grandkids stayed at the Hawaiian Breeze House and all of us loved it. The property is large and well landscaped and when we were home the kids had a great time playing in the yard. Unprompted, they told us how much they loved the house and yard, so that shoes that it is special. We had a mix of great weather as well as a full day of torrential downpour (15 inches of rain!) and even the rain was enjoyed by all. We had a couple of times we needed to contact the host (non-major issues) and she was easy to reach, a good resource and excellent to deal with. We would return to the Hawaiian Breeze House in a heartbeat.

The Doughty book pokes fun at the “Paradise” neighborhood, but this place creates sense of seclusion. Surrounded by jungle, you can hear coqui and birds (as well as the neighboring chickens). It’s easy to get to Hilo as well as Volcano from here, and it’s also a pleasant place to just hang out.

We enjoyed our time at this vacation home in the jungle. It is definitely loud with lots of chicken noises. We got used to that and it was so quiet and secluded. A nice place to get away from the crowds and relax and unwind after touring around all day. We really enjoyed our time here!

Our family of five really enjoyed our three night stay. The property was clean and the kitchen is very well equipped. It was great to have lunch or dinner on the balcony. The greenery around the house really adds to the tropical feel. Yes there are early morning roosters but we masked them with fan and white noise. Overall, I would definitely recommend this house.

We loved this hidden property at the end of a long gravel road. The sounds of wildlife make you feel like you’re in the middle of a tropical jungle. The house was clean and roomy and the beds were very comfortable. We were pleased with all of the amenities and the helpful handbook provided by the host of all of the best local drives, attractions and restaurants. Look forward to staying here again.

We loved the atmosphere in Trena's home. The bedrooms layout with two bathrooms was perfect for us. The interior is very spacious but we woud always find ourselves go out on the comfortable lana. Perfect to relax and cool off in the breeze, or enjoy breakfast. The lot is very private and you can't see any neighbours. The suggestions binder is very comprehensive. Keep in mind there is no dining table... we mostly dined out. All in all it was very comfortable for our family of 5. Good location for exploring the Hilo area.

This house is better than expected, private location in the jungle. All that you need for a great time with your family. We enjoyed the rain in the evening. A lot of birds around and we are completely happy to rent it again. The location is close to Hilo with good food and a farmers market, Volcano national park, Botanica Gardens, and a lot of beaches.

The house was just as inviting as the pictures, and the bed-swing was a dream! We loved just hanging out there and relaxing together. I definitely hope to return to this vacation home the next time I visit The Big Island. In the meantime, I’m gonna see how I can recreate that bed-swing at my house!

Home was perfect. Enjoyed the Country living. Early morning light rain showers, followed by crisp clean air. Place was quiet and serene. Enjoyed the market on Sunday. Lots of Local vendors with fresh fruit and produce and a wide assortment of goods, and food. A nice few restaurants in the area. Kaleo’s- Great food and entertainment. When needing groceries and supplies you can head down into Pāhoa which is less than 3 miles away. There’s lots of eateries there to choose from if your not using the kitchen. Just be aware that places close early, so plan accordingly.

We all enjoyed our stay at this lovely Oasis. Will miss sitting on the Veranda and listening to the sounds of nature surrounded by lovely trees. Will not miss the sounds of the roasters but good thing I had ear plugs for sleeping.

Gorgeous property and lovely house. Needed to be dusted, it was a bit musty and there were cobwebs in the corners. Overall a really pleasant stay!

We really enjoyed the house it was well equipped, good internet, lots of outdoor area. It was just my partner and I and we really enjoy that we started relaxing as soon as we entered the proprety. One thing we did not like but it is not the owner's fault is that many roosters will start being noisy at about 3 am throughout the mornings. They are likely wild but they kept us awake unfortunatly. Otherwise we loved the proprety so much we hiked the volcano paark trails and enjoyed Hilo very much.

Stayed in March. The house was perfect. Clean and neat. Great communication from host before and during our trip. Exactly what we wanted. Comfortable with a great remote location.

We really enjoyed our stay here. It was a very rainy week in the area and the home provided a great place to unwind at the end of the day. The covered lanai was wonderful and comfortable. It made a great place to hangout, have meals while being protected from the rain. It was well appointed (I suggest checking the pantry/fridge prior to buying groceries) in the kitchen, bathroom items, sunscreen, bug spray, beach stuff, etc. Additionally, the owner Trena has been very helpful, we left an item and have been able to work with her to get it back. Very helpful!

Great spot next to some cool little town. Completely private. The sounds of the forest, the frequent rain, the breeze that flows nicely through the home makes this a wonderful experience. The host was easy to work with. Highly recommend and would go here again!

While off the beaten path, not too far where it affects quality of stay. Lots of loud wildlife but got used to quickly due to peaceful days. Pigs and chickens in the yard amenities good pots and pans. Knives coffee maker all worked and were functional. Would have liked a way to clear out heat from cooking out of kitchen window fan ac unit...but not a deal breaker.

It was awesome, we enjoyed very much. I don't like to be in the middle of the tourist side so definitely this house was perfect for privacy and it gives the feeling of being in the middle of no where but no everything is relatively close.

The house and property are beautiful, we had a great week enjoying the deck and the privacy. Made for a good home base for everything around Hilo and for going up to the volcano. Would stay again!

This spacious and lush property was beautiful and a perfect get away for our group of 6. The host was an excellent communicator, self checkin was very easy, house was spotless and clean. The only possible issue one may have is that the 3rd bedroom with a queen sized bed is separated from the living room by only curtains which lacked the privacy my brother and his partner were hoping for, but other than that no complaints. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Thank you!

Close to all the south and east side Hawai’i Island activities. A very private and beautiful property with the perfect wrap around lanai to enjoy being still. Exactly as described. Only 15 minutes from the Tin Shack Bakery for breakfast, lunch, or fabulous baked goods. Need a grocery store, deli, coffee bar, or over a dozen varieties of fresh Poke? Pahoa has that too. Just great.

This was a cute relaxing house. A nice covered Lanai to sit out on and enjoy the lush greenery. It is kind of secluded but it’s good to get away from all the hustle and bustle once in a while and yet will only take 20-30 minutes to get to Hilo town so it’s very convenient. We came for the Merry Monarch and it was the perfect location to go to town shop at the craft fairs , come home and recoup and head back to the competition later that evening. We loved it!!

We had a lovely stay at the Hawaiian Breeze. It is removed from the hustle of the city. Open airy and quiet. Lots of room to relax on the huge covered veranda!

Generally as described with a really nice outdoor area and lots of space indoors. Property was nice enough (older with some rust on the bathtub and mold in the shower that might be better with screens on the shower window to open it wide for better air movement) and it was close to a market and several beautiful lookouts. Check in was easy but check out had a miscommunication. The listing had an 1100 checkout (has since been updated), as did the welcome letter, but the cleaner arrived around 1030 and told us to that the owner informed her that checkout was 1000. Even after being shown the listing and welcome letter she told us that she was in a hard spot with very little time so we let her in but she continued to make comments (while not wearing a mask) about us probably having old or outdated information because she talked to the owner. The owner wrote a message saying it would be fine to check out at 1100 as though that was not the contract we signed and was a bonus we received. Aside from that the only other annoyance was the rooster that would come on the property to wake us but that is just nature doing what it does. In addition, it is on a country road that is gravel paved and it rains a lot so just keep that in mind with any transportation choices (Uber is unlikely or will be slow due to location).

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hawaiian Breeze house. Our kids were super excited to see the geckos and lizards, and they enjoyed the swing bed outside. All of the beds were very comfortable, the kitchen was stocked with everything you need, and the wrap around deck is amazing!

Home is comfortable with a lot of privacy. There are a few items that need attention for owner to know. Lights burnt out in a number of rooms; mildew on shower liner; coffee pot is broken/manual pour overs only; no garbage bags to replace liners; no extra dish soap; fridge has a variety of spoiled condiments; ice trays were not filled/ready; no extra dish cloths; ****gutters are clogged and wood is rotting in the corners***. That is more of an important maintenance note. Very quiet and peaceful. Love the outdoor seating and privacy. Thank you 🙏🏻

This beautifully appointed home is in a quiet, private neighborhood outside Hilo. Impeccably clean and fully equipped, this house is the perfect place for up to 6 to stay while exploring the Big Island.

Never before have I had such house envy! The photos accurately portray the property but they don't do justice to the ambiance. Our favorite thing to do after a long day exploring the island was to return to the swing bed on the porch and fall asleep listening to the frogs and the rain. And in the morning we sat outside drinking our coffee, watching the roosters patrol the grounds, and gazing over the rainforest canopy. Because the owners thoughtfully left a good 10' buffer of rainforest around the perimeter of the property, it was extremely private. We had absolutely no problem with bugs and enjoyed watching three Madagascar geckos making their way around the veranda. While the house does not have air conditioning, we didn't find it to be a problem at all. Though in fairness, we spent most of our time on the veranda! The host was extremely helpful, sending recommendations in advance and answering any questions we had. Yes, there are beach towels available and there are even boogie boards, fins, etc if that is your thing. While you do need a car, we found the location convenient to both Pahoa and Hilo. Do NOT miss the Thai restaurant in Pahoa; literally the best we've ever had! Our other tip: consider renting a truck. They are all four-door and comfortably seat four adults. We were able to enjoy many more areas with the truck than we would have with a car and they were the same price! We can't wait to return. And, if we won the lottery, the first thing we would do is to try and buy this house!

The house is beautiful and clean. Did have trouble contacting property manager while we were there. She did apologize and let us know she was having trouble with VRBO. She gave me her personal # and that was the same number I had called twice and left a voicemail to and texted with no response. So beautiful house, clean, and definitely worth staying at if you have no questions for the property manager.

Thank you Trena for letting stay in your amazing home. My family of 6 enjoyed every second, we checked out a day earlier just so we can clean early and not have to rush in the morning. But we enjoyed our stay. Thank you so much again. Definitely would recommend this house to anyone who is looking for a place to stay.

Very nice place to stay with family. It is a house built in forest. You can see chicken running around in the morning and hear birds singing at night. Nice location, close to stores, not far from volcano NP. Will stay here again on our next trip to Hilo!

This charming house was very sweet and filled with old Hawaii personality! It felt like we were truly alone in the peace and quiet… and swinging on the balcony felt like we were in a tree house in the jungle. It was really fun. Thanks for having us!

Staying here will give you the experience of living on the island in a local community. Very nice home. Loved the swinging bed! Frogs and roosters are not quiet so just be aware of that. Minimize the amount of lights you keep on at night and do not turn on any of the recessed lights on to minimize bugs in the home since you will need to keep all windows open. Beautiful property and nice location to see sights on the east side of the island. We very much enjoyed our stay.

We had a wonderful and relaxing 4 days in this place. The house and the grounds are beautiful and very clean. There are 3 bedrooms so plenty of room for a family. We very much enjoyed sitting on the swings outside while birds were singing every morning and night. The location is very convenient to explore the area. Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful place with us!!

Aloha. The location, property and the house is away from hilo is perfect for my family. This is our second time to this island. Reservations, questions, check in and check out was so easy and helpful. I would totally stay here again. Mahalo from my Ohana to yours. Aloha.

Lovely breezy home not far from local beaches and more! Nice farmers market only 5min away, Hilo is about 20-30min away. Loved seeing the lizards around the porch, chickens wandering through the back yard, and listening to the birds twittering away all day and night. The porch was great to relax on, bed was comfortable.. Home was missing a couple basics I thought would be there, like extra toilet paper and bar soap. Also fully stocked kitchen in the ad refers to cooking utensils/pots/pans etc but not any food basics like salt, flour, oil. Not a big deal, there's a local grocery one can drive to. Might be nice to update the listing however. Loved the super easy access using coded front door. Overall a great stay, would stay again!

The water pressure was very bad our first two days but my brother in law changed the filter to the catchment so the pressure was a lot better. It is a beautiful home and if we come back home again we will definitely be renting this ♥️
