Hale Kamaole is a South Maui condominium complex located across the street from Kamaole Beach Park III, one of the most popular, family-friendly, and lifeguarded beaches on Maui. Unit was clean and comfortable. Bed was good. Walkway next to bedroom made of wood 2x6’s was noisy, particularly at 4:00AM when the guy with the roller suitcase headed for the airport…every night! Few upgrades since new, exterior paint flaking off, maintenance needed. All-in-all good value for the price.

This unit would fine with a little maintenance and a through cleaning from top to bottom. Great location. The bedroom was fine with a fairly comfortable big bed and very nice furniture. The rest of the unit was grimey. The bathroom had mold on the shower tiles and the sink and surround were a mess. The shower curtain had mold on it. Linens and towels were nicely laundered and plentiful. The laminate was peeling off the kitchen cabinets and the top of the refrigerator and cabinets were very dirty. The counters had stains and some of the cookware was dirty. The living room was missing a lamp with dirty blinds, rug and upholstery. The rest of the furniture was in good condition but needed to be cleaned. The patio screen door had several holes in it. The dirty blinds were so big and heavy, in the living room, that I gave up trying to raise them for fear they'd break. The lanai was well done and clean with good furniture. The windows worked well.

It’s a very convenient location, right across from the beach! Also, only a 4 minute walk to the bus stop. I chose not to get a rental car for my time but I didn’t feel isolated because of it. The upholstery and kitchenware could use some updating but the layout was really nice, open, and with plenty of natural light. No AC in the living room so it gets a little warm during the peak sun times, but, hey, it’s Maui! I put on some shorts or hung out in the bedroom if need be. Overall, a pleasant 10 days in Maui! Wouldn’t mind staying there again.

After the initial complaint of the above situation, we appreciated the prompt response by the vacasa team. They sent cleaners immediately who cleaned the bathroom and changed the curtains. That was nice. The living room was too hot. It could have been nice to have AC here as well. The bed was quite comfortable. The towels were available but most are rather old (time to replace these)!

I'll begin with the positives. The size of this condo was perfect. The overall property had nice amenities, laundry in the condo, two pools on site, free parking, and the tennis court was in good shape. Unfortunately for me, the cons far outweighed the pros. First, it is listed as having AIR CONDITIONING, however only being in the bedroom at the furthest point, doesn't equal A/C. In fact, it was barely able to keep the room cool because the slatted windows do not close completely and the evening sun is blazing into the room. An investment in blackout curtains would do wonders in this place. The first day we walked in, it was a wall of humid heat...completely unbearable. LACK OF INVESTMENT is the next point of contention, it hasn't seen an upgrade in over 20 years. The cabinets are peeling, holes and dents in the walls, stains at all of the serious touch points on the wall, kitchen utensils are old and inadequate (knives do not cut), the king size bed is old and uncomfortable, furniture is falling apart (legs chewed on, bottom of chair shredded). Whomever is handling the maintenance of this condo, they are seriously overpaid, paint is the easiest way to make this condo appear "clean." In addition, the drains (especially shower) DO NOT DRAIN. WiFi doesn't work well and there is horrible cell signal. As for VACASA who manages the property, communication is POOR at best. Left multiple messages, received one call back and was told she can't help (west side only).

Our stay was awesome. We loved having a full kitchen and a washer and dryer. Plus air conditioning. Pool was close by and just a walk to the beach. The place was awesome.

This place is in a brilliant location. Really easy to find, close to amazing beaches and anything else you could need. The only small issue is if you are traveling without data (as we were) the wifi kept dropping. The location of this property or any other in this apartment complex is great. However, the price of this property isn`t competitive relative to any other $200 air bnb. It cannot accommodate 3 people with the current sofabed mattress. Coffee was not offered as typical and internet only worked about 10% of the time. Linen is worn out and king bed is sagged on one of the sides. `This review was submitted while the home was managed by a different property management company.`
