We had a lovely time in Kihei, however, the condo suite was old and dated and had many deficiencies. We have stayed at the Kihei Akahi 12 times in various suites and this one was one was the second worst. The carpet needs to be replaced (it was taped down in the bedroom doorway) and the bathroom needs renovating. There was a musty smell from the bathtub. The view from the lanai was exceptional, but we were unable to sit out as much as we would have liked as the chairs were uncomfortable. The kitchen cupboards were so high that I was only able to reach the bottom shelf. I am 4"11".There is little storage space. There are not enough kitchen supplies (2 teaspoons in the drawer, no coffee filters or kleenex). The picture in the living room looks like a garage sale throwaway and the curtains to the lanai are sunburned and ripped. The bed was good and the couch was comfortable There was plenty of dishwasher and laundry soap. I would not stay in this condo again unless a renovation was done.

Pest control service came in during our first week. Even though we made sure we were gone for more than four hours, the chemical still made my wife sick for two days. It still didn't kill the tiny ants in the place, especially in the area of the couch, in spite of the note we left for the pest control operator. In addition, due to the feral roosters the complex does nothing about, and the early morning garbage trucks, it was the noisiest complex we have stayed in during our 10 visits to Maui. Workmen and cleaning crews started showing up at 6:30 a.m., even though "quiet time" supposedly lasted until 8:00 a.m.

Not a fancy place, just everything you need! Loved being on level with the fronds of swaying palm trees. The apartment is efficient and well-appointed. We did breakfasts and lunches “at home,” walked to the beach, and made planned drives to our Maui excursions. For a three-person family, Kihei Akahi had everything we needed!

We had a wonderful time here. The property was just what we needed. It was clean, easy to access, and in a great location. There were several things to do/restaurants/beaches close by/within walking distance. It was amazing to wake up and drink your coffee to a fabulous view!

Location of property was great. The property and grounds, in general, was great. The property itself is a bit dated however overall it was great and would stay again because the location was very good and close to a good beach, shops and restaurants. Thanks!

Pros: We really enjoyed our time at Kihei Akahi D507. It's in a really great place, walking distance to some great food, the beach and even a great place for massages. And the balcony was cute - because it's on the 5th level, the view of the ocean is very nice. Cons: 1. Check in was very late - 4pm, and check out was ridiculously early - 10am. Not very cool. No other place we've stayed nearby had these times. We arrived a bit early, and they wouldn't let us have access until 4pm. 2. The place is perfect for a casual stay, but it's not super fancy or new (older furnishings and a pretty small TV). But if you want a clean convenient place near the ocean, I highly recommend!

Lanai view was perfect for watching sunsets through the palm trees. Recently renovated condo was attractive. Bed was so soft and squishy that it was difficult to roll over at night. I often gave up and slept on the couch.
