Nice comfortable property, very close to most beautiful coastline! Property was as shown on VRBO. Door Lock was difficult to learn and parking spot hard to find as numbers are eroded, but onsite property manager was amazingly helpful! Suggest flipping frig door to swing open from other side. Would make cooking much easier. 😊 would stay here again!

This was a great location. The condo is right next to Carlsmith Beach Park which is gorgeous. We were able to walk there easily. It's also within short driving distance to the Hilo Market and everything else to do in Hilo. Check in was easy and the app was helpful. 1 parking spot. Bob greeted us coming in, and was very nice. The condo had everything we needed. We were only there a few days. I did use the kitchen quite a bit and everything was good except for the can opener. King bed was extra soft. I would recommend to others and stay here again. I have mold issues and did okay here. It was a little musty when we first got there as Hilo is very wet but we opened the patio door and got the air in and I am happy to say that I didn't have any issues during my stay.

Everything was ready for our arrival! Clean clean, clean! Lovely beds and pillows. Was surprised at No A/C but didn’t need it. Great location, easy to get downtown Hilo from here. The views were great.

We stayed at Maunaloa Shores 109 for 10 nights right before Christmas. The apartment is in a great location and just a minute walk to my favorite place to swim in Hilo. The bed was fantastic for me, just soft enough but not squishy. I fell asleep each night with the sounds of the waves crashing. The kitchen was well stocked with what was needed to prepare meals. They even provided dish soap, trash bags, laundry pods, and other amenities so that we didn't have to buy them at the grocery store. There were beach towels, sunblock and bug repellent left by others, though we didn't have any mosquito issues. They also provided lots of fans both ceiling and on stands, which were helpful. There isn't a dining table in the apartment, but there is a table with chairs on the balcony, which was great to have. The screen on the patio door doesn't stay in the groove, so if you are concerned about biting bugs, you'll want to keep readjusting the screen door. It's easy enough to do. The Wi-Fi was decent, but not fantastic. Video calls were okay and I was able to do the work that I needed while on vacation. Lastly, the management was super responsive and helpful. Everyone we met in the building was kind and welcoming. The only thing that I would recommend to the management is that they repaint the parking area so that the numbers on the spaces are clearer. The parking space number for this apartment was barely visible. The paint has almost entirely worn off. Otherwise, we had a lovely stay.

Great location, next to a very picturesque park/beach. No restaurants in walking distance but easily drivable. Quiet building and area. No AC in unit but the unit airs out well with the fans and windows.

Very clean and looked pretty much like the pics. I really appreciated that they provided me with 2 extra fans as I had not read that there was no air conditioning. But it was written in description. Also, we wouldn’t normally want air in Hawaii but we were there during a heat wave. Beautiful view of the “jungle” off the patio and you can easily walk down to the lagoon and snorkel and swim.

We had an amazing time in Hilo. The property was nice right next to a beach where you can snorkel. We fell asleep every night listening to the jungle sounds and feeling the ocean breeze blowing through the windows. Absolutely amazing!

Good location, good property in a older condo building off the main road. 2 bedroom condo with a view of the ocean and pool from the lanai. Property does need some repairs as the screen door falls out of the track and the front door needs to be adjusted as there is a large gap when closed and the deadbolt is very difficult to lock.

Excellent choice to stay for a week. Clean, safe, right next to the beach and easily accessible to Hilo and other day trip adventures.

This 2-bedroom is in a great location for exploring the Island of Hawai'i. While Hilo is wetter than other parts of the island, and gets rain (usually in the morning), it is perfectly located to explore the vast majority of the island with no location being more than 2 hours each way. The state seashore park next door is wonderful and there are turtles there regularly swimming alongside you in the tidal pool. There is a view of the ocean from the balcony and the master bedroom, the furniture is functional, the kitchen could use some more cutlery and a pantry shelf, but for the rest it's just fine for a week or more stay.
