The house is right next to the volcano. Very convenient if that’s what you want to do. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed for our stay. The house was very clean and had plenty of space room for our family. The only noticeable problem we had was that the fire alarm decided to go off twice at 5:30 AM. Woke us up and we couldn’t figure out what triggered it. The house had vaulted ceiling in the living room and the alarm was right next to the ceiling line so we could stop it manually either. Also, no Verizon service but they had WiFi (satellite , so super slow but works). Other than that - great.

Great location, very close to the Volcano National Park and a short drive from Hilo. The house was beautifully prepared, and has everything you need.

Although we had a problem with our booking at the beginning of our trip (an issue that was worked out by Vacasa but not without some negotiating), the house is wonderful and gave us the space we needed to have an amazing Christmas in Hawaii! The house is clean, spacious and in a gorgeous area. We are not resort people and try to stay away from the tourist areas, so this house was perfect. It is about 40-45 minutes from beaches and Hilo, but only 5 minutes from Volcano National Park, so just be prepared to drive a bit if you’re not there to hike the volcanos. I think the only things that the house was missing were beach towels (so be prepared to either pack your own or buy some) and cooking spray or oil. Other than that it has everything!

This is a perfect home away from home for celebrating an anniversary. The house is immaculate, roomy, and comfortable with convenient covered parking and entry for one vehicle. The house is nestled in the dense vegetation of the rain forest, providing plenty of privacy. We absolutely love it here and are sorry to be leaving. This is our fourth time staying in Volcano. We love the cooler environment and quietness of this remote village. This is the best location for adventures in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. It is easy to reach destinations along the coast north and south of Hilo, as well as beach parks along the southern coast. Even the far northern part of the island is accessible on a day trip. As noted in the listing, stock up on groceries in Kona or Hilo, as shopping is limited in Volcano. With a little planning, you will have a great time here and will not be disappointed. Mahalo to our hosts. Aloha for now.

Pros: this house is spacious, bright and spotlessly clean. We had two parents, two grandparents and two teenagers and were very comfortable. Location is great for visiting Volcanoes National Park and the Hilo area. Cons: the outside lanai is small and the grill is rusted out. A few fans would help keep the air fresh at night when you need to close the windows so the frog chorus doesn’t keep you up.

This was perfect for our family of 6. Loved the location. Just a note there are no window coverings of any kind. The way the house is set back in the trees no one can see in at all but it would still be nice to have something on the windows in the bedrooms. But the beds were comfortable and we had everything we needed.

Clean, well-kept 3 bedroom in Volcano with hardwood floors meant plenty of space for the kids to play around in. Nice extras included lamps, flashlights, and ponchos to explore the National Park at night or during the rain. Plenty of water, electricity and internet, but need to bring your own oil and condiments. Overall an excellent place to stay for a family.

The place itself is wonderful and you feel the care and thought they have put into every detail. I really loved so much about this place. They have some cute Hawaiin baby board books and some on Hawaiin plants and supernatural books on curses that have happened on the Islands, spoiler: don't take any rocks with you off the island. ;) It is well set up for families too. That said, come prepared to be in the rainforest. It rained the entire time we were there, and the internet was spotty at best. On top of that, I had no cell reception so you really feel in the middle of the jungle with no connection to the outside world which can be a blessing but is not for everyone. It seems to be surrounded by a bunch of private properties that have a lot of warning signs like, "No trespassing" Beware of Dogs", which I totally get but adds to the intimidation of the place. Also, know that there aren't any grocery stores nearby so you should stock up before you come or plan accordingly. They did have some very yummy coffee for us. If I wanted a place to write a novel, this would be the perfect place.

This is the best short term rental we have stayed at. The house is in a good location for visiting Volcano National Park. The website pictures of the house reflect what you get. The kitchen is very well equipped. It is an excellent house for families. There is a pack n play, high chair and children’s dishes and ample room to move around. Our 15 month old grandson enjoyed walking from one room to the next without much getting in his way.

We have stayed here twice, we love the neighborhood and the house and the grounds. the kitchen is wonderful. The beds are extremely hard and hard to get comfortable in. Also the hot water takes forever to get to the showers. The water pressure in the master bath is terrible. Also the housekeeping staff should know how long a guest is staying. we only had 2 dishwasher packets for our 10 day stay. You also need to take your trash to the transfer station, Which is not bad and we did not mind, but not everyone is prepared for this. Overall great house, just need a better nights sleep.

We enjoyed our time here. If you plan on doing your own cooking like we did this is a great place, kitchen has everything you could need as far as pots and pans, cutting boards, cookie sheets and more, even ice cream scoop. The layout was great for our family group of 4 adults and 3 kids. (Part of the grill was not working great at the time of our visit but we still were able to cook things on it).

The house and property were lovely, clean, well maintained and overall had everything we could want for cooking in the large kitchen. It was, by far, the best equipped kitchen I have seen in a vacation rental. Kudos to the owners! We enjoy cooking for ourselves. The gas fireplace was very welcoming as it was quite chilly in the early mornings on Volcano. Our only discomfort was the absence on any window coverings. We arrived well after dark on our first night and could not see the outside property, except for the well lit carport area. We could not see that it is surrounded by forest vegetation on all sides. We felt exposed and uncomfortable to the point of wanting to keep the lights off. The following morning revealed the dense vegetation of the property. That was a bit comforting, but still, anyone could walk up the drive and peep. The property does have blink security, but we, as the guests, did not have access to any video. We did not experience any problems with security at all. We were just uncomfortable with the exposure.

This home exceeded expectations. Bigger and nicer than the pictures led us to believe. WiFi was excellent, kitchen was well stocked with everything you need (no spices though), bedrooms were spacious, and the grounds were beautiful. You felt like you were in a private section of the rainforest. Loved that they had lanterns and flashlights for exploring the lava at night too! Only wish the beds were a little softer but some people love the more firm mattresses, and in reality we all slept quite well! Cool nights in Volcano were a nice respite. I would definitely stay here again

This is a fabulous, extremely well stocked private home within 15 minutes of volcano national park. The home was just as described in the listening with large bedrooms, a gorgeous open central floor plan and everything you need in the kitchen. We stayed here with our family of four, loved it and would stay again

This was a great family friendly house in volcano area. Set up perfect for cooking anything you need. Loved having the flashlights and lanterns for lava tubes and Mauna Kea. Water pressure was low in the shower, but wasn’t a deal breaker. Will stay here again for our next stay.

Well-stocked and clean house. Enjoyed the kitchen and appreciated the coffee! Gorgeous setting in the middle of a rainforest and convenient to VNP. Only drawbacks: Uncomfortable couch, no coffee table, weak shower pressure. Despite that, I would still recommend this home.

We loved the big common areas and the spacious feeling of the house. The kitchen was exceptionally well stocked with all the dishes, pans, appliances, rice cooker, etc. We also appreciated the little extras, like coolers and flashlights that we could use while there. The master bed was too soft for me.
