You're only a quick walk from smaller beaches, and a mile north of the expansive Kahekili Beach Park. When you're not sunbathing, swimming, or scuba diving, you can spend the afternoon strolling the greens of the Kaanapali Golf Courses. When it's time for dinner, drive back to the condo complex and check out restaurants like Ono Kau Kau and Pizza Paradiso.
When you decide you’re ready for privacy or a break from the kids, simply close the door between the units and enjoy your private kitchen, bath, bedroom, TV, sitting area, and lanai. When the time comes to reunite with family or friends, simply open up the adjoining door to collaborate on a great dinner using both kitchens. We've stayed at the Maui Kai multiple times over the years. This was a first in 507/508.
The good - you still can't beat that view and the 508 bed was surprisingly comfortable (and newer). Also, the extra corner window was dreamy and A/C worked great.
The bad - 508 definitely needs a refresh. Very dirty carpet, uncomfortable sofa bed for the kids. Shower door must of broken, so they replaced with thin shower curtain and heavy hooks, the thing fell down constantly. Black mold in shower. Light socket for one lamp disintegrated in our hands when turning off (ended up unplugging completely due to fire worries).
Bottomline, still a good overall setting but could use some love.

Loved the views and the Maui Kai property. One of the units needs some minor upgrading. Carpets cleaned, shower curtain replaced. Other than that it was perfect!

These units were great for visiting with my parents. A little dated, but we expected that. Definitely an "older crowd"; not the best for a young family. Yet quick access to Kaanapali Beach and the other amenities. Biggest complaint is while searching for a stuffed animal and swim goggles we found questionable cleaning. Bottle cap under the bed (excusable), empty small bottle of rum behind the couch (questionable), and 1/3 full bottle of Makers Mark under the mattress. That was rather disgusting because it had my wife questioning if the bedding really was changed before our stay. When we called in a maintenance issue with a toilet spraying water, they were quick to respond. I called Vacasa (property management) about the cleaning and they said they'd check in with the cleaning crew and get back to me. No call back, no courtesy credit, no further communication.
To the owners of the facility, I'd recommend you find a different company other than Vacasa to manage your units.
To others: Please note the washer/dryer isn't in the unit - it's shared throughout the complex which isn't noted in the VRBO app; only online. Also a previous review (8/2018) noted some deep cleaning required such as the vents. The owner responded stating it was set to be addressed; but it was evident this hasn't happened yet.

The first impression was quite negative. Carpet was dirty, fridge was broken, rust spots on ceiling and around walls and doors. A/C vents are full of dust. Very dated unit, it's hard to see beautiful view through dirty windows. Views are incredible, beds are comfortable, kitchen supplies are well stock. All in all, OK stay.
