BEACHES & CRITTERS: The beach size in Hawaii varies month to month due to heavy surf, strong currents and tides. Due to Maui’s rural atmosphere you may experience the occasional rooster, as well as harmless geckos. Geckos are friendly, eat insects, and are considered good luck in Hawaii. Please don’t kill them.
IMPORTANT: Although the HOA schedules regular professional pest control services, pests such as ants, roaches and rodents simply cannot be completely controlled in the tropics. Hawaii is located in a tropical climate, and insects, rodents and lizards flourish in this environment. If our guest spot more than the normal expected pests, we always make our best efforts to contact and work with the HOA to minimize your interactions with these pests. Any contact with such pests within or outside the unit does not constitute a breach of this Agreement or give Guest any right to any refund or rental adjustment.

This trip was our 4th time staying at the Mahana and as always the location and the beach are what make this place so special. Since I enjoy snorkeling and not needing to drive to a beach location this makes morning and afternoon snorkel adventures easy. My wife and I enjoy going out for lunch and then taking care of ourselves in the kitchen or BBQ area the rest of the time. The kitchen had everything required and the grills were spotlessly cleaned every day. We consider the tranquility of the Mahana to be the number one reason to stay at this location.

From the condo we stayed in we could look straight down from the lanai and see numerous turtles swimming at the edge of the coral below. We also saw a Hawaiian Monk Seal swimming torpedo like at the edge of the water. Our condo was well decorated and in very good condition. The kitchen was complete with everything anyone would need to prepare any meal. We used the beach chairs (4) and beach towels almost every day. Additionally the location came equipped with the latest in snorkel gear. It was very clean and nicely taken care of. We wouldn't hesitate to use this condominium on our next trip to Maui.

Loved the unit, pics and details were exactly as described. The mirrors on the wall make the unit look bigger but it was comfortable for our family of 3, equipped with everything you need, and the ocean view and sounds are unbelievable. Only negative about this unit was it wasn't cleaned well. The floor was dirty on arrival and some areas were dusty. I like to wipe everything down anyway for peace of mind and they did have some cleaning supplies available, so not a big deal, but the ice maker in the fridge didn't work and don't even think about using the coffee maker or the kettle both looked filthy in the inside. Overall we enjoyed our stay. The shower water and pressure was the best. You are literally steps from the ocean. Unit has lots of supplies. Supermarket and food trucks are close by. Parking was good

Great condo. Beautiful location, everything we needed for our stay was in the condo. Saw tons of whales, spinner dolphins and sea turtles from the condo. We hope to return as soon as we can.

We have stayed at the Mahana probable 15-16 times. It’s actually our favorite spot. We had also stated in this particular unit exactly 10 years ago.
The problem was the unit has not been updated during that time period at all so it’s outdated in many ways compared to others we have stayed in. Refrigerator Ice maker worked very poorly.
The Lanai had a large chunk of floor tile missing with a 2x4 laying over it. We called the maintenance line and he asked in we wanted to schedule someone to come in and fix it. We stated it should have been fixed upon arrival and didn’t want unknown repairmen in our unit 3-4 during our stay.
We took the first 2-3 hours in the unit deep cleaning it as the clearing fee doesn’t actually get you a clean edit.
The appliances we all dirty. Television screens, countertops, floors etc all were dirty. There was 1-2” of dust behind the televisions as well. The living room windows were filthy. I would have thought they would have cleaned them after construction on that side.
The living room furniture is extremely uncomfortable. We will most definitely not stay in this unit again. Not up to Mahana standards.

The views from this property cant be beat it is beautiful we have vacationed at this property for close to 20 years and the scenery and great staff is what has brought us back time and time again. this year due to the work being done on the buildings and some of the missed upkeep it was not up to its usual high standards. Due to the pandemic some of this is understandable but still disappointing hoping next year will be better

It was hard to leave the condo because the view is so amazing. The property was as advertised and the condo had everything we needed. Pool and spa were very nice and we used the bbqs a few times. There was construction in the other tower that we had been warned about. Only 1 of our 8 days was it quite loud.

We enjoyed the stay overall. However, there was a a lot of construction noise on the property that we were not advised of in advance. Also in the 30 years of staying at the Mahana, never had just one roll of TP provided and therefore having to purchase ourselves- and no cleaning products which was a unfortunate given we were there for almost two weeks. We texted and promised a delivery of some cleaning products but they flaked on us. Also, was pretty upset that our unit entry code stopped working one afternoon one day prior to checkout and we were lucky to have had our cell phone with us to attempt to reach the management- they really only replied by text but it was unnerving for about 15 minutes before someone texted back with an alternate code. No apologies were given.
So I probably would find another unit going forward.
