We had a great stay here for our first 5 nights in the Big Island (before heading to Volcano National Park area for a few nights). We were a group of 8 - 5 adults and 3 kids and this was a good house for our size group. I think Kailua-Kona is a good area to stay. I would stay here again and recommend to my friends in real life :)

From the moment we arrived, this home exceeded our expectations and hopes. It was spotless and stocked better than any home we have rented. There was sunscreen, after sun care, and other assorted toiletries in both bathrooms, The kitchen pantry rivaled my own, and there were mixers, and sodas from prior customers. The garage was well stocked with boogie boards, water shoes, snorkel gear, umbrellas, beach wagons (one is missing a wheel, but still useable) and pool inflatables. The pool cleaning system was interesting, we named it Oscar, and my grandkids had fun avoiding it. I noted some people complained about the birds and frogs singing, and all I can say is: I miss it since returning home! The sunsets were amazing and we all hope to return to this amazing home some day.

The villa is large, well equipped, comfortable in a quiet area of Kailua-Kona, very well placed to visit the Big Island.
The beaches and shops are not far away. We had a great stay enjoying the very pleasant swimming pool.

Outstanding place for a relaxing family vacation. The pool is just as big as it looks in the photos - no camera tricks used to make it look better than it is. House was clean and stocked with some essential supplies on arrival. Location is a little outside of town and up the hill, but that makes for better weather and a quiet neighborhood. Despite being surrounded by other houses you have complete privacy in the outdoor space. Stunning view of the sunset over the ocean from the pool.
Had no issues and look forward to returning some day.

The location, home, pool and view were all amazing! Lots of beach gear. Very close to Kona but away just enough for peace and quiet. Kitchen and pantry were well stocked and the beds were all very comfortable. Thanks for everything, our family had an awesome time!

This property is well maintained and comfortable! We all loved it...After we learned about the appliances, cooking was a breeze. Lots of pantry items and spices. A separate laundry room was appreciated. The bunk room could use a dresser for the kiddos (anything to help them be organized:) We had a great time and the neighborhood was lovely. I just can't say enough good things about this property! It is way nicer than the online pictures. We saw several eye popping sunsets...We visited several beaches and enjoyed swimming in the ocean. We enjoyed the spacious pool! David was quick to respond to questions we had, (sorry about the 2am Pacific time text, David:(. Aloha :)

We loved everything about the house, which is high up on the mountain and provided a great sense of privacy and seclusion. The beds were extremely comfortable (adjustable Temperpedic), the pool was a huge hit with the kids, and there was plenty of space for our family of five to retreat if we needed alone time. So many soothing bird sounds, plus chickens (including chicks) roaming next door. The kitchen was well appointed with everything needed to cook full meals, and we found a great little coffee shop just five minutes away. And I can’t forget all of the beach and pool gear…. We didn’t have to buy or rent anything except for sunscreen. David checked up on us after we arrived, and was extremely responsive to the one question we did have. Overall a great house and vacation.

We had a fantastic time in this gorgeous home! It was perfect for our family. Our son had his 40th Birthday celebration with his beautiful wife & daughter. Grandpa & grandma had the most heartwarming time together with all! It made all of our breakfast perfects, that were usually followed by pool time. Great experiences to the one & only Seahorse Farm. Great establishments for dining were very close. The “beyond anything we could imagine Beaches” were at every turn! A wondrous time for our family to have our own time away in Paradise thanks for all the memories!

Loved the layout of the home, loved the decor, loved the yard and patio. The warm saltwater pool and waterfall was perfect. The kitchen and bathrooms were well stocked. There was everything you needed for the pool and beach. Made friends with the geckos, frogs and chickens. David was very responsive to all our needs and wants. We have stayed for several years in ocean front homes but after staying here, we all agreed this location was the best.

Our family was blown away by the entire property, what a treat from the first wow moments when we walked in through the entire week. Gorgeous views from every room, conveniences and luxuries at every turn, close proximity to everything, positioned higher up the island so you see amazing old growth forest and eagle eye ocean views every day. I highly recommend this property! It was very clean and everything was maintained well, including the pool. Be sure to check out the guides and map in theater room. Rooms have darkening shades which was wonderful for sleep and beds were very comfy with moveable platforms. Well appointed kitchen and the location is great. Check out 180 and 190 to skip traffic on 11 and 19. Don't miss Holualoa Coffee Shack and the galleries that are in the area. The pool and garden is so relaxing that you will be tempted to stay all day. Don't miss a sunset.

We brought our two teenage daughters with us and the home had everything we could have wanted for them and for us. The lanai area and the pool were beautiful and our favorites. The kitchen and living room area provided us all we could have asked for after full days of playing and exploring the island. From the moment we entered the home we knew this was the perfect place to start our vacation. Our family enjoyed hanging out in the kitchen while cooking or relaxing outside around the pool. The location was perfect. Beautiful view and sunsets every day. This is truly a quality home and you feel that upon entering. This was our first time to Hawaii, the home and island did not disappoint. When we retrun this home will be our only choice.

We booked this lovely property to stay in with extended family. All in all we were 5 adults and 2 kids (ages 5 and 1).
The place was perfect for us, and seems especially accommodating for those with young children - our 5 year-old used the pool for hours every day, and our 1 year-old loved exploring the gardens and watching for the geckos to make their appearance in the bushes in the evening. There was also a high chair ready for us to use for her mealtimes, toys and beach towels for the kids to use in the pool and at the beach, etc etc.
The place was big enough for everyone to find their own corner and do their own thing when they wanted to, while also being set up for cooking shared meals in the kitchen or BBQ and sharing drinks and playing board games on the lanai.
It’s situated not far from Kona and its conveniences (easy to do a Target or Safeway diaper run if needed!) and not a far drive from good beaches and coffee shops.
David made our experience seamless and was easy to get in touch with when we had questions.

Literally cannot describe the beauty of this property. From the minute you walk in the door its paradise. Beautifully landscaped and when you walk out the sliding doors and see the pool and the breathtaking views omg. Very clean, so well maintained, stocked with all the essentials. Had everything we needed for the beach, pool toys, games, infant sleeper and highchair, a super cool vacuum that had a suction outlet in each wall(made cleaning up after my girls so easy and fun), a grocery store discount card. They thought of everything. David was awesome! Communication was instant, Recommendations for the beach, talked me down after an earthquake, even called to let me know construction was happening on the neighbors pool which didn't bother us at all. Stepping into that house made all 16hrs of travel worth it. Perfection.

This is a clean, comfortable, and beautiful modern home, with all the amenities you need, high-end appliances to make your stay easy and an outstanding view to enjoy from almost every corner of the property. We laughed at the rain while hanging out on the huge, covered lanai on cozy patio furniture. After spending time in town where it was sweltering hot, we enjoyed the slightly cooler temperatures uphill where the home is located. Your host has thought of every little thing to make your stay easy, restful and memorable. We didn't want to leave.

Words can not even begin to describe how wonderful this house was. It made our dream vacation just over the top even better. Very clean, lots of supplies, and an owner that is on top of things with quick responses. The views are just out of this world. The neighborhood is extremely quiet and clean. Everything about our stay was exceptional. The Villa was super clean, very well decorated. The kitchen was very well equipped and contained everything we needed to cook and grill on the great gas grill. TV’s in all rooms and theater seating made viewing a lovely experience. The lanai was fabulous, lots of space for outdoor eating, lounging and playing games. The pool was beautiful, perfect for our family of 8 to enjoy. The pool toys and beach equipment (chairs, umbrella, buggie boards, etc made our stay even more fun and carefree. Location was fantastic close to restaurants, beaches, grocery stores and lots of other fun activities. David the owner was wonderful. Communication from him was quick and helpful, offering recommendations for beaches and restaurants. We have rented all over the world and this has been our best experience.

Our 10 day say at this home was truly glorious! Our party consisted of two teenagers, one 10 year old and one 12 year old……. Accompanied by 3 adults. The floor plan of this home offers privacy, comfort and beautiful views. The home was very well equipped, meeting every need, from beach supplies to kitchen and outdoor grilling. We each slept comfortably and we’re quite sad to leave the beds behind. David was extremely helpful and was very responsive.

We had two families with four little ones under 3 in our group. This place was perfect. Everything is well stocked, they have all the kitchen essentials, laundry, even some toiletries. Loved the pool and sunset view. Close to downtown Kona, longer drive to some of the key destination beaches (40 min or so). We are every meal outside, would love to come back!

This house more than met any of our expectations! The kitchen was VERY well equipped, and the layout allowed the multiple "chefs" in our group of 6 adults to shine. The sliding doors to the lanai gave us a seamless transition to eating all of our meals outside, using the pool, and watching gorgeous sunsets! This house is located in a very quiet neighborhood, with easy access to grocery stores, beaches, and downtown Kona. The next time we come to the big island, this is the place we want to stay!

The property was everything we had hoped. Beautiful property and home. We were close to all the shopping downtown. We were able to get out to all the sites we wanted to visit which made for a wonderful trip. The only downside was the bunkbed room which we did not realize would not be comfortable for the one single adult which we had. There is also no place in the room to store anything. This house has everything you need including fabulous views from a peaceful neighborhood. It’s up a fun hill into the trees so you can hear the breeze and birds, but only 10 minutes from Safeway in case you need to get back to reality. We can’t wait to return. Mahalo David!

We enjoyed our two weeks at the Johnson home, and as others have said, it is nicer than the photos reveal. Furthermore contacting the owner with a quick question or to advise of a malfunction was only a txt msg away - they are engaged.
If you are looking for tranquility, within a beautiful garden replete with the voices of Hawaii ( Doves, Canaries, Cardinals) and the flow of running water from the pool's waterfall, this is the place for you.
The kitchen is well appointed, and the pay-it-forward pantry is full of surprises from herbs to drygoods and drinks placed by prior guests for the next - so makes sure to check out what's present before you make that food run - a most positive vibe.
We grilled every evening, and enjoyed using the Lynx grill - first time ever having a "sear" option, so that was a new. Grill masters may wish to carry with them their favorite instant thermometer.
Bedrooms and beds were comfortable, with the multi-zone air-conditioning making a real difference. Having a full-size washer and dryer was much appreciated.
Advice: read the notebook describing the property and how things work - it will answer many questions which percolate. Remember you are in a home and not a resort, maintenance (pool, yard, etc) occurs during working hours.
What was missing? Maybe a beer tap in the outdoor cook-space to pour a Longboard while watching the sunsets and grilling the fresh caught Ono.
Will we return? We already made our reservation for another two weeks.

We spent a week at this home, and it was spectacular. The place is even more spacious in person than the photographs show. The pool and lanai area are perfect for lounging, taking a dip to cool off, and enjoying the sunsets. We had an issue with one of the TVs not working - David tried valiantly to get it resolved while we there, which we appreciated, and I'm sure it's resolved by now. The kitchen was amazing - we ended up stocking up on groceries at the beginning of our stay and then cooked most of our meals at the house, which was really nice since most of the restaurants are really understaffed right now so long waits to get a table. Highly recommend this home. One thing to know is about the mattresses - they are Temper-Pedic and seemed to be medium firmness. We are firm mattress people, so found them to be a bit soft for our taste.

This is our 2nd time staying here. Dave has gone out of his way to make sure every details is perfect. He is super responsive with any issues. The home is clean and well stocked. Very comfortable for 6 adults and two kids.
The home was perfect for our grown kids and grandchildren. The home is very safe for a 15 month old with no steps or hazards. He even has a pack and play on site for use. The kitchen has everything you need right down to a coffee grinder for the fresh coffee you will want to buy down to a pressure cooker for chicken.
We recommend Hapuna Beach and Magic Sands Beach. Both have nice soft sand. We also love Gypsea Gelato downtown. I think we went 4 times!!
If you are looking for great food, visit Willie’s Hot Chicken. Big portions of fresh chicken strips or sandwiches. Also no trip to Kona would be complete if you don’t visit Punalu’u Bake Shop at the southern tip of the island.
Enjoy the sunsets by the pool and feel relaxed as all your worries drift away at this Oasis.

Such a lovely place! We are so happy we chose this spot for our honeymoon-the area is secluded enough that we did not feel the hustle and bustle of tourists- the gardens were so fun! With fruit right on the property! Very clean and modern home. Would definitely recommend.

This property has everything you could possibly want--from a gorgeous view of the Pacific, beautiful landscaping, and an outstanding outdoor set-up with pool, waterfall, lanai, and grill to a great kitchen, entertainment system, comfortable bedrooms, and beach gear. We loved that we were close to the town of Kona, but that it was 10 degrees cooler at the house. The air conditioning was also a major plus! Can't wait to return!

This was the perfect place for our family to stay while on the Big Island! The lanai and pool area with those views of the ocean and sunsets were just wonderful! The house is large, clean and furnished very nicely. The kitchen was great for cooking large breakfasts each morning and very well stocked with cookware. It has a nice large laundry room. There are pool and beach toys, chairs, beach towels and more. We would definitely recommend this home to others!
