Our family loved our second stay at this condo. The lanai is a great spot to enjoy your morning coffee or watching the sunset and everything between! The condo location is great for walking to restaurants. The condo is beautifully maintained and well stocked for a lovely time on the Big Island.
We used Kona Style for two excursions Kealakekua Snorkel and Sail and Sunset and Manta Ray Snorkel. Both excursions were fantastic! One great aspect to Kona Style is that you can walk (15 min) from the condo to the boat since it departs from Kailua Bay.
If you go to beach 69, we enjoyed malasadas from a food truck which are made to order. They are delicious!
I highly recommend this condo for a trip to the Big Island. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This VRBO exceeded my expectations. It was the perfect location. We took a couple of day trips to the other side of the island and when we got back home we could park the car and just walk to anywhere else we wanted to go. No reason to pay for parking anywhere else because the location was within walking distance to wherever you wanted to go. The place was fully stocked and very clean. Loved that they had inflatables, snorkels, beach mats, etc in the beach closet. They left us a little coffee and macadamia treats. It was just a friend and I staying and I felt we had a lot of room and privacy. So nice! Highly recommend!!!

The unit is all that we had hoped for in terms of comfort, convenience and location. The kitchen has everything you need to enjoying relaxing meals on the beautiful lanai. We also enjoyed several meals out at fun places within walking distance. They also have beach chairs, snorkel equipment, coolers, beach towels available to borrow which we very much appreciated. Brett and Diane are a delight to work with.

We had a great experience with the property. The location in Kona was perfect and had all of the amenities we needed for a perfect Hawaiian vacation. Although the 7th floor condo is overlooking Ali’i, we spent a great deal of time on the lanai (beautiful sunsets and great vantage point for canoe races) and it was very quiet. Highly recommend this property.

My family and I loved this condo! Everything from location to furnishings. It just does not get any better. The views from the lanai are stunning! Listening to the waves, seeing schools of yellow tangs and dolphins from the deck, to watching the beautiful sunsets was just amazing. Restaurants and stores are next to the building. The condo is very comfortable and well furnished with everything we needed. We hope to return soon!

This condo was a lovely choice for staying in Kona. The place itself is very nice and well equipped with everything we needed during our stay. We were within walking distance and short driving distance to some great restaurants and a snorkel tour launch. We struggled keeping the main room cool (but I am sure we could have worked harder to get that to balance), but the lanai was always comfortable and the downstairs bedroom's A/C worked awesome.
Lanai and ocean view/sounds were ideal. The building was not loud and rarely did we hear anyone on the walkways outside the bedroom. Plenty of beach toys were a bonus. The condo was within 45 minutes of a Hapuna Beach Park and we loved it so much we went twice. It is worth mentioning that you are directly above a busy road. The ocean sounds really do block out most of the car noise, but not the cars blasting music. This did not bother us as the bedroom was really quiet and we had no issues sleeping with the a/c on and the door closed. The owner was so easy to reach and work with. Covered parking in Hawaii also made us happy. Had a great time. Thank you so much!

All appliances are high end, along with the cookware and utensils. Furniture and beds are extremely comfortable. The owners have paid great attention to details-too numerous to mention in a review, but you will notice! (Even down to the silverware drawer-impressive! Also, the over sized rainfall shower heads.) The large lanai has TWO ceiling fans and VERY comfortable chairs. (We saw whales everyday-lots of spinner dolphins, too.) We've stayed in 50+ Vrbo rentals and this one is the best, ever!

The view was beautiful. I spent every morning on the lower lanai watching the boats and dolphins. From the rooftop lanai we could see the glow from the lava. Lit up the sky..
The condo is in the middle of town. Easy to walk to restaurants and pubs. The condo was everything as described. Stocked very well. I use self catering apartments and homes when I travel and this is a one of the best I have ever stayed in. You can tell that the owners take much pride and love in their home. We would definitely stay here again.

My husband and I's first visit to the Big Island (kailua-kona side) and what an amazing place to stay! Gorgeous views from the lanai and amazing sunsets. The condo is well appointed and the decor is very tastefully done. Close to shopping, restaurants and activities. The owners are very responsive and their pride of ownership shows. Lovely apartment right in the heart of down town Kona - amazing starting every day with ocean views! Easy walk to restaurants and shops and great to have dedicated parking too so no hassle about being back early enough to grab a spot. Apartment was spotless and well furnished, will definitely be back!

Great location, great responsive property manager. Celebrated our 40+ wedding anniversaries in this wonderful penthouse unit where we easily watched colorful fish, manta rays, and dolphins in the surf from the front balcony -- without binoculars! Primary background sound was waves, and numerous good restaurants were within a short walking distance. Condo complex pool was first-rate as well. Kitchen ware and beach necessities were well-stocked. Perfect spot for a get-away. We will check this unit's availability when we plan another visit to the Big Island!

We were here for a family wedding. Punahele Penthouse was absolutely perfect for our first trip to Hawai’i from the peaceful early mornings on the mountain side lanai, coffee on the ocean side lanai! Listening to the waves is so relaxing! We saw the King Kamehameha parade from above! Absolutely beautiful!

This property couldn’t be more convenient to everything in Kona. I would be surprised if there’s a better view in all of Kona. The space is clean, stylish, comfortable and well-stocked with anything you might need. The owners were so responsive throughout. We will be back.

I have been to the BI many times, and have stayed in a lot of different places. By far, this has been the best stay yet! The condo itself is perfectly centered on Ali'i Drive. You're close to many restaurants, shops, and more! The condo itself is very clean and nicely updated. We spent most of our time on the lanai when we were there. We will definitely be back on our next trip!

The penthouse at Kona Ali’i was more than expected. Spectacular views from sun up to sun down, well appointed accommodations, top rate location, and perfect hosts. We wished we had booked this spot for our entire time on the island! Such a sweet spot!

This Pent House location was amazing from the beginning. When we arrived, there was a minor hiccup getting in, but Brett did everything in his power to make it right. I have never worked with a host as easy to communicate with as Brett. The views were amazing - probably the best you can get in Kona. We spent many of our mornings sipping coffee looking at the sunrise. The location was unbeatable - we walked to almost all of our dinners and enjoyed the area. The apartment is top notch! Beds are comfy and everything is extremely clean! We felt as if we were home for our short stay on the big island. We will be back! Absolutely amazing!

Me and my two daughters (13 and 14) stayed for two weeks and loved it! Condo has absolutely everything you need. First aid kits, laundry soap, dishwashing soap, beach towels, beach equipment, coolers. Fantastic views, great condo and space. Assigned parking. Secure building. Zero complaints about our stay there.
The location can't be beat. I can't emphasize that enough. We didn't have to get in the car to go out for dinner...we could just look outside and see what was busy. We could walk anywhere in Kona. Of course we drove around the island, but on the days we stayed local, we never had to get in the car. All the bars, restaurants, and shops are right outside the door! Noise from the street is not a problem at all - and we're country folks who live on 9 acres.
If I make it back to the Big Island - this is where I'm staying. Hands down. We stay in a lot of condos, and this is my #1 favorite.

I wish I could describe this property with few words, however, it is impossible! I’ve stayed at many VRBO properties & this one was the BEST! Unbelievably stocked!
