The house was beautifully decorated and very clean. The location was perfect for our stay to access all the beautiful beaches on the north shore and the great restaurants in Hanalei. Downstairs closet: 3 sizes of ice chests, beach towels, nice snorkle set, sun screen, bug repellent, aloe vera, even Nyquil, limited first aid, nail clippers, cleaning supplies (including a scrub brush). Detergent, SprayNWash and dryer sheets for the beautiful stackable washer/dryer.
Bathrooms: shower gel/shampoo/conditioner. Lots of nice towels/wash cloths Great shelf treatments. 2 plungers. Ample nice toilet tissue
Kitchen: All appliances work! Pantry items (flour,sugar, oils, vinegar, ample salt and pepper, lots of usable spices) Foil/plastic wrap/etc., lots of dishes/glasses (standard plus colorful/fun), plenty of silverware/knives/4 ice cube trays/pots w lids that fit, skillets, splatter guards, oodles of utensils, wine opener, can opener, toaster, hot pot, crock pot, coffee makers & grinder, blender, measuring cup/ bowls/baking dishes, potholders/lots of dishtowels. The property was beautiful, fully stocked, everything we needed was provided. The beds were very comfortable enjoyed the breezes in the evening. The location was perfect, quit neighborhood, after a day of traveling around the island we came back planned the next day it was relaxing. Communication with Mandy and Jim was actually the best I have had in 3 trips to the islands. Not that I needed anything, but they checked in just to be sure. I would certainly recommend this property.

This property was the perfect spot for our Princeville vacation. It felt like home immediately: spacious, clean and very comfortable. The kitchen is very well equipped and made our preference for home-cooked meals so much easier. Good access to the Princeville Centre and its abundance of services and resources. The complex is beautifully landscaped and well maintained and we met some friendly neighbours! It was easy to walk down to the old Club Med property and get to the lookouts and perfectly shaded beach areas. Highly recommend the food truck at the end of the road: Nourish Kaua´i! Mandy was very responsive to questions by text message. Mahalo!

The lodging was perfect. Comfortable and spacious. Lots of good shelf and storage space in the bedroom and bathroom, which is often not the case in rentals. It does get very hot in the late afternoon on sunny days. The hosts were great.

A very nice place to stay for vacation with all necessary amenities. We were impressed by the thoughtfulness of the host in every detail: More comprehensive Kitchen tools than we have ever encountered in a vacation home incl such things as cling wrap and a bottle of olive oil. Beach towels, beach chairs (2), super modern washing machine and dryer, and even a dish washer. The house was clean and modernized, with enough space for the three of us. Just be aware there is no AC, only fans. The upstairs bedrooms could get quite warm in the afternoon and early evening but not so bad as to prevent us from sleeping at night as it has been in other places on Hawaii.

Had a great stay during our trip to Kauai. The inside temperature was very hot when we checked in. The windows have to stay open to allow the breeze to pass through, as there’s no A/C. It ended up not being an issue for us, as we were out most of the day and only coming back in the evenings once it had cooled off anyway. I loved the proximity to Hanalei and made daily trips to a cute coffee shop there. It’s definitely a long drive to the other parts of the island (45min to Lihue/1.5hr to Waimea.) So plan well or split your stay according to what you’re going to be doing while you’re there. This is my third time to Kauai- highly recommend seeing Nepali by helicopter, the cave tubing with Kauai Backcountry Adventures & hiking the Sleeping Giant Trail.

Great property, very quiet. Lanai is very peaceful. The pool was great. Very close to Poipu beach and stores and restaurants. Great location for doing things between Waimea and Lihue. While we were staying here an absolute freak flash flood happened. The unit took on some water. Completely out of the ordinary, you have nothing to worry about. We were able to mitigate the water damage and clear it all. Our hosts were amazing through the small crisis with communication, and had people there within an hour to help us. They sent the insurance company with industrial fans to dry the unit out. It did not impact our trip in anyway and there was no damage to our things or the unit. They even refunded us for the cleaning fee and a whole day (over $500USD). Over all a positive experience and instilled faith in the vacation rental system after previous negative experiences. Thanks for everything!!!

Comfortable but the description is exaggerated. Property is in very 'tired' condition and in need of some maintenance. Only 'surface clean' and the place smelled bad until we cleaned under the kitchen and bathroom sinks with Lysol.
Furniture is worn out / damaged. Toilet in main floor bathroom is situated so tight to the shower stall that only someone less than 4 feet tall can actually sit on it. Location is good except that it is right on Hanalei Plantation Road which is a very busy artery from Princeville with traffic that starts roaring past at 5:30 am about 80 feet from the master bedroom windows - hence the need for earplugs - well, that and the roosters that are everywhere on the Island. Kitchen pretty well equipped but pots and pans were in rough shape. Overall it was just OK which was a bit disappointing given the description. We have done many vacation rentals over the years and have seldom been disappointed at all.

4 of us travelled for the first time to Hawaii. What a wonderful trip we had. The house was exactly as the pictures showed. Clean and spacious. The beds are sooo confortables. The location is near restaurants, supermarket and shops. A short walk. We enjoyed very much our stay. The hots were great to communicate with. Check in and out were quick and easy. My spouse and I have visited Kauai numerous times and were extremely well pleased with this property from the first step of booking to the tidying up and check out process. Spacious and cozy with everything one needs for preparing one’s own meals. The place was really clean and the decor lovely, and as artists, we particularly appreciated the art that decorates the walls. Close to all the things we love in this area. The neighbors were also very friendly which made us feel safe, and their kitty was also friendly. We read the other reviews before booking this place, and they were accurate. Would stay here again! Very cordial and speedy replies from the owners. So grateful! My partner when reading my recap to him said, perfect!

This townhouse had modern amenities and charming decor. Recommends from the owners made it easy to get a good feel for both Hanalei and Princeville. They keep an excellent set of guidebooks available to all guests as well as personal notes for walks and supplies which were most helpful. Be sure to see "The Ruins" and have a first class lunch at the snack shack at the fork.

This fantastic condo is a must check. Near the Hanalei Bay and Princeville, you can’t beat its location. Spacious and comfortable rooms. The master has a nice walk in closet. Kitchen is well equipped with all the basics. The only thing to be aware of is that it does not have an AC and the upstairs bedrooms can get very hot in the afternoon/evening. However, with fans in every room and good ventilation, it is very manageable.

We walked to the beach on our first night there, and my daughter discovered a beautiful run that took her to Hanalei Pier. Everything about our stay here was excellent! The townhouse is lovely, spacious, clean, and well stocked with all the essentials. Our stay in this well-appointed Princeville location was exactly what we had hoped for and wanted during our time on this lush island. Easy to find, and close to any services needed, we appreciated the tips provided by Jim and Mandy about local spots. Adventuring to nearby Hanalei and hiking into Haena SP to Hanakapia'i Beach was a highlight, and returning "home" to cook dinner "in" and relax was a joy. We also took a very special helicopter tour on Blue Hawaiian, and two catamaran sails with Holo Holo Charters, all of which added to our experience of seeing the Na Pali coast by land, air, and sea. Come and make your own memories, it was a truly magical time!

This property was perfectly located if you have a rental car and enjoy walking/hiking. The hosts were so friendly and easy to communicate with! It was immaculate and well looked after, and nice and clean. The bed was comfy and the towels were so soft! There is definitely a lot of rooster activity, so if that's not your thing, this may not be the place for you as it's key to have the windows open to keep the place cool! We enjoyed staying here as our base for the first half of our trip. It was a great value. We hiked to both beaches that are nearby - Hideaway and Puu Poa. They're a decent walk! We enjoyed some of the other beaches we drove to more, though (Tunnels, Hanalei, Anini, Kauapea). Would love to stay here again with friends or family!

Location was close to North Side activities and quiet except for the chickens (But that is Kauai.) Kitchen was outfitted with all that we needed for food prep. Parking was close by. Outside grounds were plush and well manicured. Boogie boards and beach accessories were on property for snorkel and enjoying the beach. Property was clean and well kept. All aspects of renting this property were great! We found it conveniently located near the Princeville shopping center and less than 10 minutes from Ching Young village. We stayed as a family of four and our kids are 8 and 11. The house was cute and clean when we arrived. The kitchen is well appointed, though we didn't cook aside from brewing coffee 😀. It was nice to have one bathroom per floor. The hosts were easy to communicate with. No complaints except the limited channels on the TV, but we didn't come to Hanalei for that!

The first thing I noticed when we arrived after a very long flight from NJ was that this townhouse looked exactly like the pictures we saw on the VRBO website! It was just as clean and just as beautiful as we hoped it to be! The owners were great at communicating with us. Even though we didn't have any need to reach out to them during our stay, we know we could if necessary. We also loved the location because it was close to everything we wanted to see while in Kauai! It is the prettier side of the island in our opinion. If you are trying to decide where to stay, look no further! Would definitely stay again and highly recommend Thank you Jim and Mandy!

My best friend and I found this Hawaiian vacation home to be absolutely breathtaking. It was the perfect vacation spot for two mature women. We felt safe and the surroundings were very tranquil and serene.

We had a lovely stay at this condo, which is a two story townhome in Princeville—just atop the hill above Hanalei. It’s in a small community of similar properties that is away from the resorty part of Princeville, which was to our liking. Everything was clean and in good working order. There were also a ton of little things you might need for your beach vacation, like chairs, an umbrella, etc. We would definitely stay here again.

The property was beautifully situated in a small neighborhood amongst tropical foliage with Mountain views from the back porch and kitchen. Well equipped with plenty of cooking supplies. Easy driving distance to many nearby beaches Hanalei Bay and close to a mountain overlook.
The owners were great and very friendly, timely and responsive and answered our questions on which beach roads were passible after a tropical storm came through. Enjoyed their hospitality. Would definitely stay here again!

We had an amazing trip and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Jim and Mandy’s vacation home in Princeville. This was our second stay at their lovely and peaceful condo. We always sleep well and feel so at home with all the amenities and extras: full kitchen, dishwasher, reliable wifi, washer/dryer, lanai, beach and snorkel gear, etc. The location is perfect, just a short walk or drive to some of the most beautiful sites on the north shore. It is also conveniently located near the grocery store, restaurants, shops and bus stop.

This was a perfect location for us to use as our home base while staying in Kauai! We were able to enjoy all of the beauty of the north shore and just zipped down to Kapaa, Lihue and the south side as needed for specific activities….but this is by far the most beautiful side of the island to stay on because of the lush vegetation and beautiful flowers and the very laid back vibe - it was very relaxing. The condo was exactly as described, but even cuter! The decor was perfectly Polynesian, which added to the ambiance of the area. And, it has everything you need and very comfortable for a family of 4 and I loved how private it felt compared to a large resort or condo complex. Communication with the owners has been easy and the process to check in was simple! Would absolutely stay here again and recommend to others!

My husband and I started our trip to Kauai in the north side at this VRBO. Accommodations were nice/reasonable considering price and host was quick to reply about our request for an early check-in. We enjoyed sitting on the porch with the chickens & cute stray cat and looking at the mountain view.The host also gave a heads-up regarding reservations needed for some trails/beach in Napali Coast which we appreciated (though still couldn’t get reservations as they sell out quickly). *Important note for anyone staying here in summer 2021– there is heavy construction on the main highway which is what road the condo is off of, there are detours to get to the South & East of the island. However, very to difficult to time up when the highway is open to get to Hanalei Bay/trails further north. Would consider this when determining where you want to stay on the island. Anywhere in the island I would recommend having a rental car. Overall, a relaxing stay! Mahalo!

Easy to book and communicate with hosts. The size and configuration of the property suited us perfectly as a couple but could have easily absorbed another couple had we been travelling with friends. The kitchen is well appointed. Very quiet neighborhood. We noted that some reviews complain about the roosters but having hiked across much of the island, it would seem that the only way to avoid them would be to stay in a sterile large resort.

This is a reasonably priced property given the location. The instructions were great, and the hosts provided additional information regarding the area, which was nice. There were lots of useful items available for use (beach towels, beach umbrella, boogie boards), and the kitchen was well stocked.
A few things kept this from being a better experience:
- No air conditioning of any kind made it very unpleasant except during the night and the morning. Be aware of this if you book this property. They do have several fans available so we were able to get the place cool at night.
- There are a ton of roosters around the property. This is of course common throughout the island, but it was particularly noticeable here. Try to get up before they do :).
- The window screens are old and warped, so there are some gaps between the screen and the window frame where small bugs can get inside. It wasn’t a huge issue, but it did impact us.
Overall I think this is a good choice given the price. If you are ok with everything I mentioned above, book it!

Quiet and close to Hanalei, Princeville and local beaches. Comfortable space in a nice complex. Jim and Mandy made it easy to check in and check out. Definitely would stay here again!

Property was as described and in a quiet location. Beautiful view of mountains! It had absolutely everything that we needed for our stay! All main North Shore attractions were easily accessible. Would highly recommend!

We stayed at this lovely home during the 2nd half of our recent mother/daughter trip to Kauai (we stayed in Poi'pu the first half). We were on the go every day exploring, snorkeling, hiking, and just enjoying the area. It was wonderful to come "home" at the end of the day to shower, relax, look at our pictures and rest up for the next day's activities. It is clean, all the appliances worked well, and there was plenty of room for each of us to have some quiet time to read, nap etc. Jim was so easy to work with during the planning/booking process, and quickly answered all of my pre-trip questions. I would absolutely recommend this home to anyone visiting the Hanalei area.

The condo was lovely and had everything we needed. I loved the view from the kitchen. The master bed was super comfortable. We never wanted to get out of it! I would definitely recommend anyone to stay here. It was super close to Hanalei and Princeville. No ac but it didn't need it. The breeze keeps it nice and cool.

This place is gorgeous, with lots of personal touches that make you feel at home, instead of in something stamped from a cookie cutter. It really is in walking distance of Princeville Center, and across from a home on the market at $8.9 million.

We're from Hawaii, but when we want to get away from the big city, we escape to Kauai. When we travel, we always want a place to stay that feels like home, and not hectic and crowded the way hotels can. It's important for us to be able to relax, make home cooked meals, and have the comfort and tranquility of home. Hale Honu was amazing. The place had everything we needed, is well-appointed and clean, is nice and private away from the main road, and above all, is quiet, relaxing and comfortable. The decor was top-notch. I also love that it has 2 good sized bedrooms and 2 bathrooms--perfect for a small family or those traveling with in-laws (us). The condo complex is also small and set back away from the main road, so it was serene and tranquil and exactly what we needed.
It's minutes away from Princeville and Foodland, and a quick 5 minute drive to Hanalei. North Shore beaches are just minutes away in either direction on the highway, the Hanalei lookout point is a quick walk down the road (or 3 second drive). It's close to dining, hiking, shopping and snorkeling. Perfect location for north shore and east side adventures.
We're already planning our next trip to Kauai to escape Honolulu, and we want to make this our regular place to stay. It's the perfect home away from home. We couldn't ask for any better.

More than we ever expected!
The house was absolutely amazing. We had all, we needed. The kitchen was full equipped and everything was very clean. The two bathrooms were full of fluffy towels and all rooms were nice furnished. The bigger sleeping room had an fantastic view to the mountains of Kauai. The house was a little paradise and very well located. It was a fantastic holiday and we would like to come back as soon as possible. Mahalo!

We weren't sure what to expect when arriving but were very pleasantly surprised. The home is inviting, well laid out and clean. Everything was as advertised. The one thing we kept saying throughout our stay was how great the location was. It was quiet and close to Hanelei and Princeville shopping. We would and hope to stay here again.

Very spacious and comfortable condo with a parking spot right out front. Was able to save some money by making breakfast at the condo every morning. Outside noise was minimal and slept great here. Washer/dryer right in unit is very handy. Also, close to everything on the North Shore including the Napali Coast, great snorkeling, Hanalei town, and Queen's Bath. Would definitely stay here again.

This condo was exectly what we needed. It was in a perfect location. Close to Hanalei and Princeville. The condo was very clean. The size of the condo was larger then we even expected. The beds were so comfortable, sleep like a baby the whole 7 nights. The only negative I would say would be that the road had more traffic then we would have thought. And the master bedroom did face the road. I'm pretty sure that the traffic might had been going to the back enterance of the princville area, which they do close that gate at 9pm. After 9pm the traffic noise wasn't as bad. And when I say traffic, I mean more like a car or two every half hour maybe. Other then that we loved this condo and the location. The neighbors we so friendly. Oh and the master bedroom closet is HUGE. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful condo with us. Mahalo!

We very much enjoyed our stay in this 2br, 2ba condo at the edge of Princeville. Situated less than a mile from Princeville Center in the direction of Hanalei, it's an ideal, affordable rental for those who wish to spend the bulk of their stay on the north end of Kauai.
