Moloaa Bay is one of the most private bays on the island. There is fun for all ages on the exposed reefs and tide pools, the sandy beaches, snorkeling, surfing, kayaking, swimming, fishing, or roasting marshmallows on fire at the beach when you are not picking fresh fruit or flowers and just want a rest. There is shade at the beach (large trees), for those with fair skin and protected areas for small children.
Our home has large bedrooms with beautiful, rare, hardwood floors, and hand-carved teak accent furniture make this 'fruit and flower picking' an experience to talk about for a lifetime. You will have an experience like never before while staying in this 'farmers market buffet' plantation. It is Very Private and out of view. Close to town, shopping, movies, restaurants, etc. Because you are in the "jungle" of Kauai you may be visited by a friendly gecko or two. Although we spray our Plantation its impossible to keep every ant and bug in nature and out of the house. We do our best but unlike resorts that are not located in secluded areas it is an impossible task and you may see some of these too. Woodrose is our family home, which means it is a home, not a resort with 24 hour people to fix the unknown item needed repair. We act as soon as we are made aware of anything broken but this is an island home and repairmen are not as available as you may like. We ask for patience in the unfortunate case something were to break.
Being close to the beach means that we are located in a Tsunami zone. In the case of a Tsunami take Moloaa road up to Koolau where you are out of the Tsunami zone.

We had such an amazing stay at this home. The kitchen had many cooking utensils, knives, pots and pans. We were able to easily cook out meals when we stayed at home. The property is full of numerous fruits we picked and enjoyed. The beach is a short walk and the place does have a supply of beach chairs and towels. The beds were comfortable and nicely fit our group of five adults. We would love to stay again in the future soon!

The best things about this home are the great location just a quarter-mile from Moloaa beach, the wonderful secluded grounds and all the fruit trees, and Tiffany, the highly responsive host. We found the beds in the 3 bedrooms comfortable but felt the house was a bit run down.

A secluded get-a-way with a short walk to an uncrowded beach. My recommendation for future guests is to spend late afternoons out on the covered deck, if you're not out adventuring, as the house can get quite toasty at this time. Our stay was lovely, lots of family time.

The setting was beautiful, location amazing, while the living area facilitated great family meals, hula lessons and the exquisite magic that makes Kauai paradise. And Sparky was both very helpful and a complete delight.

We stayed here 10/11-16 and really enjoyed this property! The pics represent it exactly and the home is on a huge plantation surrounded by fruit trees and huge coconut palms. We were able to enjoy Oranges, Mangoes, Limes, Grapefruit, Avocado's and Coconuts (machete provided!). We stocked up on groceries for the kitchen. There aren’t any stores close by, so recommend grabbing supplies on your way. There is a Keurig and coffee maker provided, and more! There are 3 bedrooms and 2 have their own bathroom. A 3rd bathroom is in between 2 bedrooms. There is a loft above living room with Queen bed. There is a washer/dryer that came in handy! There is a Smart TV in living room, bedrooms do not have a TV. There is no AC, all rooms have ceiling fans and some portable fans. We kept cool enough at night with all the fans. You will hear Roosters most the time and there are Geckos that roam the outside decks and sometimes come indoors. It’s a tropical location, Critters included! It’s a very quiet area otherwise. Moloaa beach is a short walk and quite secluded. We only saw a few others there when we went, it was amazing! We swam and snorkeled. Bring water shoes! There are beach toys, chairs and snorkel gear provided. If you’re looking for a quiet, secluded area in a tropical paradise, with resident critters, this is it! We all loved it! Host was very nice and replies to all inquiries quickly!!

Our group of five had an incredible stay here! Tiffany’s house is fantastic. 3 king beds, a loft room and 3 bathrooms make it very comfortable. The great room with high ceilings and panoramic windows + wrap around porch is perfect for hanging out. The property is very secluded with plenty of fruit during our stay. Tiffany provides plenty of beach chair, umbrellas, 3 sets of snorkel gear, and beach toys which was a great bonus. The kitchen was well stocked and a washer/dryer is included. The beach is less than a 5 minute walk and is very secluded. Great swimming with a few snorkel reefs. Felt more like a private beach than because of the limited parking. 20-30 minutes Hanalei for dinners out and even closer to other small towns. Within 5-45 minutes or every north shore beach. Would highly recommend!

The property was well-kept and uniquely situated on a beautiful tract of garden and land, surrounded by fruit trees and other flowering plants. The beach was about a 5 to 10 minute walk away and felt very exclusive compared to many of the crowded beaches in Kauai. I enjoyed the lack of air-conditioning, since the house was well ventilated with screening and fans, but some folks may get a bit uncomfortable. I wish we could’ve stayed much longer.

Great location for this secluded mini plantation. Privacy yet a quick walk to a beautiful bay with a beach, some shade, tide pools, fresh stream and hiking. 10-15 minute drive to small towns. All needed amenities were included. Have already referred friends to this location. Ideal for families and children.

We had 6 people staying here and there was more than enough space for all of us. We enjoyed the closeness to the beach (about 10-15 minute walk) and fruit trees. There was only lemon, limes, and oranges ripe. There was more than enough beach equipment. It is a bit of drive from the airport and any grocery stores. And we got ate by mosquitos which prevented us from opening the windows to cool in down (no AC, but lots of fan). I would highly recommend for groups or anyone looking for a quieter area than the up and busy areas of Hawaii. The host is extremely helpful and fast to respond!

Lovely home situated amongst glorious gardens and plantation. The deck was perfect for morning coffee, while enjoying the birdsong and stunning gardens. Spacious, clean, traditional home, a joy to stay in. Fabulous quiet beach an easy walk, and nice distance from charming towns. Private, quiet, peaceful. We look forward to returning! Thank you for your gracious hospitality.

Greeted upon arrival with overflowing garbage can and 5 bags of garbage next to the drive way as we pulled in. The house was not clean. The additional room beyond the laundry looked as if it had not been dusted in years. Some ceiling fans were gone, loose toilet, and other problems just made it a less than nice experience. Property manager was responsive but it’s clear they’re not as engaged with the cleaning/upkeep of the property. I feel as if the cleaning fee should have been refunded because we left the house cleaner than how we found it. For as much as is charged, the property needs better upkeep. There were broken or removed fixtures, etc. The main living room and two main rooms/bathrooms were nice but the house in general was very dusty and not clean. This trip was for a 50th wedding anniversary for my parents and having them worry about roaches was not nice. I’m not a picky person but this was beyond acceptable, especially for the price and cleaning fee. The property manager did offer to send the cleaner back in but it would have required interrupting our stay so we did a lot of cleaning ourselves. We stayed next door at Skippers years before and it was completely different experience. We came back to the area because it’s a nice getaway but we needed more space this trip. The property would be a great place with some money invested in fixing/replacing some items and getting a better cleaning crew. That being said, it is a peaceful location.

We stayed in a condo on the south shore for a few days before this. Staying here was so much more relaxing. Beach: walkable with great snorkeling (right side), great and safe kid swimming during high waves (left side), and sees little use since there isn’t much parking. Not great for surfing or boogie boarding. Property: amazing fruit trees but most weren’t ripe. We enjoyed what we was ripe. The grounds are maintained but have an air of it being just the minimum. It has the feel of a place that was once lived and is now slowly going wild. Location: easy to get to and off the beaten track. Quiet street. Not super close to anything other than it’s own beach. We spent most of our time at the beach but if you are looking spend daily time in Hanelei this is a bit far. House: overall the house has a feeling similar to the grounds: was loved and is slowly going downhill. With that in mind we greatly enjoyed it. Wonderful porch. Kitchen is sufficient. Plenty of fans to keep cool and nice cross breezes with the windows. The two bedrooms and bathrooms in the main part of the house were nicely done. The third bedroom and bath in the lower level had a feeling of being an after thought and weren’t in great condition. We did get to escort a large centipede and a few cockroaches out of the house but this is to be expected for a place in the rural setting. Amenities: there are a ton of beach toys, snorkeling gear, boogie boards, beach chairs, beach towels and mats. We added another biggie board and two kids scooters for going to the beach. Overall: it was very relaxing and we enjoyed it. Will we be back? We would weigh our options. We would come back if the price was right.

The location was excellent. We loved having a secluded, fantastic beach almost to ourselves so close to the house. The house itself was surely a wonderful house in its day, it is a little run down at this time. Same story about the yard. It is a wonderful jungle, in need of some clean-up and love. Overall, the size of the house, the lanai, the bedrooms and the beds worked out well for our party. There were boogie boards and snorkeling equioment at the property that we enjoyed using. We had fun picking avocadoes, coconuts, citrus fruit and papaya on the property. Overall it was wonderful to stay in a secluded property compared to a condo in a busy touristy place, but I wouldn't call it quiet because the roaming around chickens were loud and started early in the morning!

We were married on Anahola Beach during our stay here and absolutely everything was perfect! The property is private and beautiful, the beach is also close and private and pristine! Awesome small container shopping/coffee area just down the street… outstanding time!

This was a cosy little house in a natural setting - surrounded by leafy trees, birds, cute little lizards, chickens, and other creatures. It's a short walk to a semi-secluded beach where you can snorkel. The house itself was spotless and well equipped. The hammock outside was a blessing. And it's a short drive to nearby shops, restaurants, and other beaches.

This house is not quite as quaint as the photos suggest. Some of our party stayed, others went to check into a hotel. Cutting to the chase: -Water pressure was excellent -Internet solid -house too hot -Ceiling fan in living room broken -Floor fan in living room broken -Outlets in larger bedroom non functional -Larger bedroom smelled like mildew -Bee hive on the back of the house next to rear bedroom window -Kitchen Faucet broken -Shower curtains moldy -Couch was stained and gross -Chair in living room arm rest broken -Loft hot -Beds are tired It was not quite what we were expecting.

Our first impression of this property was, that it was a little tired. In its day it must have been elegant. That being said it was the perfect fit for our large family and very comfortable. Fabulous porch to hang out on. We loved the rural location, very private with large lawn and nice plantings. Walking distance to beautiful beach down a quiet country lane. We had one small problem that was quickly attended to. All in all good value for your money.

Upon arrival at the plantation we were in love. The house and property are gorgeous! The wrap around deck with hammock and chairs was fabulous. Limes, clementinnes, guava, mangos, banana apples, coconuts. etc. The kids loved exploring the property and all it has to offer in it’s secluded quiet. It is a couple of minutes walk to the beach. My son squeaked about seeing a small reef shark while snorkeling. It is about 15 minutes to town and stores but if you are looking for your own piece of quiet paradise, this is it.

May 2022
This a good place for a large group. The location is really nice and private with a nice and easy walk to the beach. The bedrooms are comfortable and spacious and there are plenty of bathrooms. Be aware that the loft gets pretty warm, even on cool days, and can be difficult to sleep in. The Host graciously allowed us to get in a little early, but there was a mixup with something and we weren't sent the check in info, which caused a delay. I think this was a website mixup, not a fault of the host. There are some amenities listed that were not present for our visit such as a hair dryer. It also lists "basic soap" but there was no bath soap and no shampoo available. Those would have been nice to know ahead of time so we would have known to bring our own. The grounds are beautiful and there is plenty of fruit around. There were some screens that were not secured quite right so there were times when I noticed insects / lizards inside the bedrooms. Didn't bother me but my wife as a little freaked out. I was able to secure some of them better, but some didn't quite cover the whole window space, but luckily the mosquitos weren't bad. The fixtures in the showers can be tricky to use and I had to set the shower each time for my elderly parents because they did not have the hand strength to turn the water on. The above things aren't major issues, just things to know about. The main reason I am giving this 3 stars is the lack of hot water. The house has a solar heater and an electric backup. The backup was turned on, but never worked. This meant that hot water was only available when the sun was shining directly on the solar collector. This meant our windows for hot water was roughly between 11AM and 5PM each day. Any showers in the morning or at night or when it was a cloudy day are cold showers. The host was informed and someone came to look at it, but the problem was not solved during our stay. Overall a good place, but can't give more than 3 stars because of the shower issues.

April 2022
The property was well equipped and the property was beautiful. There was no hot water in the morning. I'd prefer lounge chairs on the lanai rather than hard wooden chairs. Other than that, we loved the house. It's a perfect place for 3 couples.

January 2022
This was a great find! This home very comfortably sleeps 3 couples. All beds were super comfortable. The grounds are lovely and being able to walk out the door and pick fruit was a huge plus. The mangos were out of season but everything else was yummy. We enjoyed walking down to the Moloaa Bay and beach. The more rural feel of the area really appealed to us. It is quiet (except the roosters but those seem to be everywhere). If you are looking for nightlife, this is not the spot. We enjoyed being close to Princeville and Hanalei as well as Kapaa. It is not an easy or quick drive to the south side (Poipu) so plan ahead if you are looking to drive there. We will be back!

January 2022
Home is on a beautiful piece of land - we loved the fruit trees, making fresh squeezed orange juice almost every morning. Stroll to quiet beach at end of the road. Home has beach chairs, towels, and sand toys for kids. Because of the lush environment it has some mosquitos outside. Most bedrooms have a king size bed and their own bathroom. Some of the home could use some updating. Overall it worked great for our stay. Conveniently located on the east side so easy to get to the north and south.

If you like the tropical environment, you'll love this place. If you are booking for the beach, choose a time of year when the ocean tends to be calmer, because Moloa'a Beach is truly paradise found on a calm, sunny day!

August 2021
For starters the property was still in the process of being cleaned when we arrived at 3 pm check in. I spoke with someone on the phone who said that they were on their way to pick up the housekeeper but she was far from finished. We waited well over an hour before we could bring in our luggage and get settled. There were a few things that appeared to be left unfinished in their haste to leave the property. The porch had not been swept or hosed off. The glass table on the porch was filthy. Ice cube trays were not filled and the refrigerator hadn't had time to cool down. We had to buy dishwasher soap since there wasn't any. There were no toiletries at all. I couldn't recall if they were to be included in the rental. We did love the wildlife, the peaceful atmosphere, quiet neighborhood and short walk or drive to the bay. I felt the numerous edible fruits in the description to be over exaggerated. We were able to pick citrus, avocados, mango, papaya and bananas. Much of the orchard appeared to be somewhat neglected, not trimmed, pruned or maintained. As this property sleeps 8 it is a bit disappointing that there is not more available seating on the spacious lanai. This was clear in the photos and also mentioned on other reviews. Although the goal is to give the feeling of "old" Kauai the kitchen could use some serious upgrading. 3 sets of tongs and all were broken. The rice cooker was also broken. The stove knobs have no markings for temperature settings. There were emergency candles (plus we had brought some of our own to enjoy on the lanai) but no matches or lighter. Although we had a mix of sunny and cloudy days we never were able to get hot water in the kitchen or bathrooms. We did not bother with trying to turn on the back up water heater. All that being said, the house itself was lovely. The beds and linens were very comfortable. The seating indoors was also very comfortable and spacious. We were provided enough bath and beach towels for our stay. If you are searching for a large property off the beaten path with a lovely beach/bay for sunning and swimming, this ticks all those boxes.

We had a wonderful stay at Woodrose Plantation. It’s a quick 5 min. walk to an uncrowded beach and the rental has all of the beach supplies you would want or need for a day at the beach (5 beach towels, chairs, umbrella, sand toys, snorkel gear, small cooler, water shoes). Keep in mind there is no a/c and it can get very warm inside the house, but there are ceiling fans and plenty of floor fans for each room. Loft area was too hot at night to sleep comfortably while we were there so keep that in mind when booking. Kitchen supplies were adequate though not extensive. Bathrooms & bedrooms were clean and as shown on listing. Owner was quick to respond to any questions we had.

This was our 2nd time staying in this home, and we can't wait to return in May! What can I say. It's just perfect for our family. Everyone was very comfortable, and the grounds alone are just so insanely beautiful. The location can't be beat, it's a perfect walk to the water. The home is located in a quiet area, and for us it works PERFECTLY. We just really enjoy staying there, and we really appreciate it! Tiffany, it was nice meeting you in person as well! xoxoxoxo. This was my third stay at Woodrose Plantation and as usual loved its seclusion and close, beautiful beach. The property is huge and private, which is always a perk of staying here. Staying here a third time was harder without AC as we had children with us so the heat was a tad less bearable. Also, items within the home could use some updates. But otherwise, we have no complaints. The host is good at communication and prompt in returning messages.

The location and grounds for the property were outstanding. There were maintenance issues that were problematic, especially with the heat. Multiple fans were not working properly and multiple light fixtures were also not working. I loved the area; not sure about the house in the summer.

The Plantation property was such a great location. Moloaa bay is heaven on earth. The property is as described, older, but what you need. The beds are more comfortable than a hotel and sheets were excellent. Be mindful of the jungle like atmosphere, there will be bugs and geckos, but you’re in paradise, it’s a small price to pay. Tiffany was very responsive and attentive.

I appreciate Tiffany’s quick response to some scheduling errors that I created. She always returned my texts and phone calls. The location was convenient to local attractions and the large private yard provided a rural atmosphere that we are accustomed to. The chickens reminded us of home. Thank you for offering your home to us. We had a great experience.

This will be a bit long, so get ready. This home is a DREAM. We had a wonderful stay! The only way I can get everything in is to categorize.. so here goes: HOUSE ITSELF: There is privacy, with two masters it worked out perfect. The bedrooms stayed cool with fans, because it does get hot! But it's Kauai! The floors are beautiful, and the house had everything we needed. CLEANLINESS: It is as perfectly clean as it needs to be. Yes, there are bugs in the sills, bugs are everywhere!!! It added to the very jungle tropical feel. KITCHEN: Perfectly great! Electrical stove, oven worked fine. Lots of dishes and cups!!! GROUNDS: Unbelievable. We ate papayas and litchi. Some fruit was too high, but there are tools to try. BEDS: Very comfortable! Everyone was so happy. LOCATION: Um, can I say perfection!!! Moloaa Bay is a short walk away. After visiting MANY beaches on Kauai, we all agreed that Moloaa was where we wanted to be. Be respectful to the locals and families. Also, you may see nude people walking the beach. Just ignore, don't cause a scene like we saw a lady do! She was frantic. Kauai is different, if it really bothers you, look away (eye roll). There is plenty of chairs, snorkel equipment, etc. on the property. All 5 of us were in heaven. Give in to the humidity, it's not going anywhere! You'll get hot, sweat, so give in to it, jump in the ocean, and take a cool shower. You'll be fine :) This is not resort living. Don't have too high of expectations, but it IS luxury living. Absolutely tropical luxury. We were grateful and blessed. To us - it was perfect. Tiffany and her brother were amazing with communication. There may be a couple of little things that don't work, or is not what you expected, but it's best to be appreciative and realize the value you are getting for the price. We did not see ANY other home like this. I would recommend to anyone and everyone!! If I could give any warning or say anything at all, maybe that the loft has a ladder going up and is pretty hot and maybe more appropriate for kids - ages 10-15. My opinion. Otherwise, get ready for geckos, an occasional big cockroach and spiders. They want nothing to do with you. It's the jungle area of Kauai - get over it. It's HEAVEN. Thank you to this wonderful family for allowing us to stay in your amazing home ! xoxoxo The Loftus Fam

This was our second stay at Tiffany's Woodrose Plantation. And as with the first time my family totally enjoyed our stay. The lush private estate is perfect for our family gathering. The stroll to the very amazing beach is charming with the tropical vegetation on each side of the country road. The beach offers areas for all ages, snorkeling, fishing, and calmer waters for young children. If you prefer solitude this beach is for you as it has never been filled with people, mostly locals. The house is equipped with all that you need. Only thing I would suggest is a tea kettle for us tea drinkers. The linens and towels were great and enough beach towels for several trips to the beach. Plus if needed the washer and dryer work great! We all had a great time and looking forward to our next visit. The Pierce Family

May 2019
The location couldn’t be better - just about 1/4 mile to a beautiful uncrowded beach and a short drive to all that Kauai’s north shore has to offer. The house was very spacious and open, with a tremendous amount of privacy. We were two couples traveling together so having a master suite on either end of the house was very nice. The beds were nice - and the linens were very comfortable. The bedroom in the center is really pretty and could easily accommodate another couple. The loft would be great for kids. Having fruit (oranges, pomelos, papayas and limes) on the property was awesome - many of the other fruits were not ripe - but it was fun to explore the yard to see what we could find. Our stay was excellent - so four stars are for some improvements. The kitchen is stocked - but having a non-stick pan and sharp knives would be helpful - especially if you are a large group. Eggs in the morning were an adventure without. There were only 4 chairs on the deck - so while the house accommodates 10 - we’re not sure how they could enjoy the deck. It would have been nice to have a lounge chair or two on the porch - the hammock has seen better days. Beach chairs were perfect - it would have been nice to have a beach cooler. The grill needs to be replaced. All of the windows (sills) could use a good scrubbing and vacuum which could keep some of the bugs (others have mentioned too) at bay. We know it’s tropical and bugs are part of it - but some basic updates and cleaning to the house could help. It is clearly a well loved and lived in home - and we loved it - so we adapted and none of these were real issues just worth noting that there are relatively inexpensive opportunities for improvement. Would we rent again? Absolutely! We loved watching the geckos and garden spiders (there were many!), the privacy, the fruit, the cats that visited us everyday, the birds, the beach, and space. We fully appreciate the family nature of this home, in the most beautiful place on the planet.

We really enjoyed staying at Woodrose. The house is spacious, comfortable, and well suited for a group of adulls or a family. The location is secluded but not far from attactions and access to essentials. The beach is nice and there lots of other nearby beaches to visit. We would consider Woodrose for another family vacation.

We stayed at the house for 8 days / 7 nights. The house was big enough for 2 families to stay and be comfortable. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is for a few minor suggestions on items that need replacing. So really, I'm giving it 4.5 stars. Kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans and utensils, pretty much anything you needed! No complaints with the kitchen at all. The bedrooms were good sized and accommodated our needs. Beds were mostly comfy but they are in desperate need of new pillows and sheets for all the beds. We also had a hard time finding extra linens for the fold out beds. I was only able to find one full set of sheets for 1 of the 2 pull out couches. There are 3 bathrooms in the house and they served every ones needs. With 2 families that have teenagers, bathrooms can be an issue if there are not enough. There seemed to be a shortage on towels, so we were constantly washing towels. The showers could also use some new shower curtains. The main bathrooms curtain is too small and the water would leak out the shower no matter which way you adjusted it. And the other bathrooms have some minor mold on the liners. If they replaced these the bathrooms would be perfect. Tiffany, the owner was super responsive if we had any questions or couldn't find anything. The location is amazing. It's a short walk to almost private beach. The house had some snorkeling gear which was great! They also had some folding chairs for those people who don't like to lay on the sand. All in all, we had a great vacation and would recommend this house for people looking to stay on Kauai but not in the south region where all the resorts are.
