Property had everything we needed! Clean, well decorated without clutter. Plenty of room in the kitchen plus dishwasher! It has three full bathrooms. Great sleeping, quiet, dark and comfy. Close to grocery stores and fruit/veggie stands. Close to beaches. Visited Volcano Nat’l Pk, Moutain View, Waimea, Mauna Kea for a sunset, Paradise Cliffs, Maku’u Pt. and Hilo.

First off the directions to the property were very clear. I had no problem find the property and then accessing the home. This is a cool setup for a family of four or even three couples.
The house had everything you would expect most houses to have dish-ware cook-wear. The furniture I used was comfortable and clean. The AC window unit in the King bedroom is sufficient to keep it nice for sleeping or afternoon naps. The house gets great airflow with the windows open and the padio is where I hang out. Very friendly neighbors, talked to one and they shared lots of valuable information about the area.
The house and the neighborhood are quite and pleasant. I will be booking another stay soon.

This is a fantastic spot and I could not recommend it more for someone looking to explore the Hilo side of Big Island. If I come back to Hilo, I'm going to see if this listing is available again.
I stayed here with my mom, and having separate walk-ins (and keys) for our respective bedrooms allowed us to do our own thing when we wanted to, and do things together when we wanted to. Each room is like it's own mini-house. This is a great setup for families.
The wifi is professional-grade, and as someone with a high-demand remote job, I never had wifi issues. There's 5G wifi throughout the property. Seriously, you cannot ask for a better setup out here.
While there were some very minor problems (like a single light out and a bit of a moldy air feel in the TV room) there was nothing that had a negative impact on our stay. I mean, if you're in Hawaii, you shouldn't be watching that much TV anyways - and every property in Hawaii has a bit of mold given the climate. All concerns were immediately addressed and remedied by the host.
The location of the property (close to the south beaches and volcano and a 30-minute drive from Hilo) is ideal for those who want the full experience.
The property is also across the street from a chicken farm and a farmer's market, so you can get fresh eggs, honey and fruit walking down the street. A really nice touch.
Finally, the host was gracious enough to accommodate some extraneous circumstances and grant us a late check-out. Huge.

My husband and I were visiting the big Island for the first time. What a special place. We felt part of the local community in this house, which suited us perfectly for day trips and adventure. The weather didn't always cooperate, but the way the rooms and houses are situated, it didn't matter. It is very well appointed and comfortable. We accidently locked ourselves out but the communication was fast and we resolved the problem quickly!

Some of the rooms did have a very bad musty smell in them as if they had been closed up too long or the possibility that several air conditioners were not working correctly.
When the rooms were air out, it became bearable. Towards the end of our stay, the air conditioner stopped working in the kitchen building.
One of the advantages was this place was great for multiple family members to have their own space. It was private enough from the road as well! The property manager was also quick to respond to any issues we had and the care taker, Steve was prompt and very helpful with local insight! We felt we had made a new friend after he came to look into some things that neede attention!
All in all, it was a great place to stay for an extended time with multiple people!

Our stay ended up being ok overall, but there were definitely a couple things that would deter us from selecting this property again. 1) the photos make it seem there are 2 “houses”, when there are actually 4. That means 4 keys for 4 locks, with four sets of stairs to go up and down. Super odd design and not ideal for, well anything! 2) we paid a premium for AC, which is hard to find in rentals. Each of the 4 little houses had an ancient window unit, and with the high ceilings it was next to impossible to cool down the rooms. We were not at all happy about this, especially after a long day in the sun.

It was good. Except for a few things. Pet dander on patio furniture, bathroom light out and couldn't be replaced due to no bulb. Loose stair tile that we removed for safety purposes. And upon checkout, we stripped the beds to wash a load and under the king fitted sheet was another white sheet with a soiled spot, which must've been covered rather than cleaned. Reported issues were addressed timely,, but was told there's no dog on property,, but in the living rm armoire the blankets had dander on them.. Other than that, we actually loved the place. The location is unique due to the neighborhood. Recommend window treatments in kitchen on main delivery door n window facing neighbor. As a hospitality professional, we probably did most of the house keeping ourselves. Even disposing of trash n recyclables. Still waiting for deposit.
