The view was spectacular! The pool was even better than expected, and we almost always had it all to ourselves. No AC needed as the temperature was perfect at night. We did miss access to a barbecue, but we made do without one. Great location.

Loved this condo! View was amazing, right there on the ocean front. No other people in the building for the first 5 days so we had the pool to ourselves. Kona is just down the road a few miles. Two farmer's markets were within walking distance as well as some beautiful beaches. Private parking with a reserved spot. The only time we wished it had air conditioning when when it was raining and very humid. Otherwise, the breeze and the sound of the ocean from the open windows were wonderful. Some traffic noises especially on weekend nights were loud but it eventually quiets down. We were so exhausted from hiking and swimming each day that it wasn't a problem. We had everything we needed in this condo. We would definitely stay here again!

I'm 12 days older than my wife. We came to Hawaii for 2 weeks to celebrate our Birthdays, spending part of our time here before going to the Hilo side. From booking through the whole stay here was magical. The owner is friendly and professional. Directions from the airport to the front door were spot on. It was exactly as pictured. Woke up on my birthday to watch whales breach just in front of the large lanai followed by dolphins leaping. Very clean and comfortable. Kitchen well stocked. Lots of beach items available, though we didn't use them. Couldn't figure out the TV, but were too busy so that didn't matter. Can hear some traffic noise in the bedroom closest to the highway in the early morning. Loved the pool, though no one else used it. Access to the rock and small sand beach was a plus. Great location and host!

We enjoyed the condo so much and would recommend it to families. We especially liked the view, easy access to a private pool (we were the only ones there), and beach front access. The high surf during our made it too dangerous to spend time on the beach right below the property, but the one time we were able to it was so beautiful and peaceful. Kids loved looking for crabs and fish in the tide pools. In the calmer months it must be fantastic to stay there. The condo had everything we needed and the beach gear was a nice surprise. A few things were broken (beach chair and boogie boards), but we had enough for our needs. We were able to make meals with the fully equipped kitchen. The beds were cozy and living room relaxing. Obviously LOVED the balcony. I wanted to sleep out there. The traffic and neighbor noise at night was bothersome Saturday evening but otherwise the waves were peaceful to sleep to. No AC but was ok with the windows open. Our only complaint was the cleanliness / maintenance needs. It seemed like the window sills, base boards, cabinets and lamps were dusty. Possibly the cleaning crew could get to those areas more often. There was a mildew odor in kitchen cabinets and closets which can be common in a humid area but was a bit bothersome at times. I am super sensitive to smells. No one else in the family noticed.Location is great. a quick drive in either direction to places of interest. Walking possible, but not with small kids.

This is a very nice condo in a great location. It is very well stocked in the kitchen, as well as many towels, bathroom items and beach gear. Bedrooms had nice closets and room to hang your clothes. Beautiful sunsets and views from the lanai any time of the day. I would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful facility and location. Exterior was in process of being refreshed (tennis courts). The pool was recently updated and the grounds were well kept. Great access to the beach in front of the condo. Prior renters had complained about noise from Ali Dr. which the property backs onto, but we didn’t find it to be a problem. No air, but plenty of fans to keep things cool.
Some of the items on the interior were a staring to show their age…. I’m sure the owners will address this if they still want to demand a premium price. But, this is just a nit pick.

This unit is in a building of 6 condos, all facing the ocean. You have your own, assigned parking spot and the condo is easily accessible using a short flight of stairs. The view from the living area and lanai is spectacular! You will be hard pressed to find a better view! We spent a great deal of time just sitting on the lanai and watching the waves, boat activity, etc. and listening to the waves crashing on shore.
The kitchen is well stocked. Some spices were left in cabinets. Also had some condiments in the refrigerator upon arrival.
King bed was very comfortable.
No air-conditioning in condo but we wouldn’t have needed it. We left lanai doors and windows open and had a lovely breeze throughout the unit at all times. There are stand-alone fans in addition to ceiling fans. We had 80% humidity while there and were very comfortable.
There is a small, sandy beach in front of condo as well as next door to building.
The pool is heated with solar and very comfortable.
Alii market place is a few blocks away.
The host is quick to respond to questions and is very accommodating.
We would definitely return to this unit! We enjoyed our stay and the location.

Amazing views and cannot beat the proximity to a small beach. We loved seeing the turtles and plethora of fishes in the tide pools right outside the property gates. Overall, well stocked with coolers, beach gear and plenty of towels. Super nice to have in-unit washer/dryer….we packed much lighter because of it. Lovely sunsets!!! Thank you for a great stay.

We spent spring/Easter break at the condo. The sunsets were amazing! The condo had all of the necessities and communication for checkin was super efficient. The pool was much nicer than pictured and the kids loved the tide pools right outside. Water shoes are a must because beach is mostly lava rock but still very fun. We had some hot water issues but that may have been because we didn’t understand the hot water timer possibly. Not a big deal at all but more explanation on how that works would be helpful. Overall a great trip!

This condo was perfect for what we needed. The location was amazing and literally sitting on the lanai listening to the waves crash day and night was unforgettable. It’s a little bit further out of the downtown area, too far to walk if that’s something you’re looking for. The beds were comfortable and it had all of the accommodations for a great stay. Like others have commented, the road noise is a consideration. Sleeping in the master bedroom, you can hear the road noise. But with lots of fans going, it would not keep me from coming back. The private little beach and the amazing pool made this an incredible stay!
The owners made a great suggestions for places to visit before we even arrived, and when we did have an issue, we were able to reach the manager and fix the issue right away. Great vacation rental, we will be back!

Wow! If ocean views and crashing waves are your idea of heaven, then this is the place for you! From the moment you walk in until your head hits the pillow, this condo delivers the best experience. The lanai is spacious with the best views that extend into the kitchen. You won't miss a gorgeous moment while whipping up your favorite eats. And with the wall of sliding doors you get to experience the cooling Tradewinds and if they aren't blowing, there are plenty of excellent fans to keep you cool. The location is fantastic with easy access to the town of Kona and close to the best snorkeling for all levels. Don't miss the tacos at Shakaz Tacoz and wares at the Alii marketplace just a 1/2 mile up the road- an easy walk. The only downside here was tearing ourselves away from the view to leave and visit all the Big Island has to offer. We will definitely be back !

We stayed here for the Ironman race. The location was perfect and the views alone were amazing. I was anxious about the condo not having air conditioning, but the sea breeze and the fans provided kept the space cool. There kitchen had everything you could think of, and having a washer dryer in the unit was handy. Would definitely stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay here. The view of the ocean is beautiful and the sunsets were spectacular. The sand beach is a very short walk from the house and there were beach chairs, towels, coolers and beach towels provided. The pool is nice. The kitchen has all the tools you’ll need to cook meals. The living area is large and has games, puzzles and DVDs. The bedrooms are good sized with comfortable beds. The place is in need of some minor repairs and updating but that did not detract from our experience. It could have been cleaned better

This condo was just perfect for our needs! Recommended by a friend of mine who has booked with the host, Cecille, twice, this condo did not disappoint! Nice and quiet (only 6 units in building) this condo afforded us beautiful mornings as well as stunning sunsets. Literally everything we could have imagined needing was made available to us - especially in the kitchen! Beach towels, toys, floats, chairs - you name it, it was there. Very nice welcome chocolates along with the info on how to reach the caretakers was a nice touch. Don’t worry about no AC - there were plenty of fans and some we didn’t even turn on. The pool was a refreshing touch. Easy in/out instructions made for contactless check-in and out.
There were a few items that were corroded by the salt air but HELLO, you are literally steps to the ocean so that cannot be helped.
Communication with Cecille was easy and she responded quickly. Lovely host!
The only concern I would point out - and I say this only as I am disabled and somewhat wobbly on rocky terrain - it could be a bit tricky walking over the lava to get to the private beach. I recommend a good pair of water shoes with decent grip to help you traverse. But it’s well worth it! Walking around the volcanic tide pools, I spotted baby eels and other incredible macro sea life, not to mention some cool broken pencil urchin spines and yes, even some sea glass. Lots to discover!

My family of 4 really enjoyed our stay and had all of the amenities we would typically use at home with the addition of the most amazing view off of the lanai. We did not see any dolphins or turtles in front of the condo while we were there but had fun walking on the rocks and just staring out at the ocean. We cannot wait to return!
The co-owners, Cecille and Janet, were incredibly helpful, informative, responsive, and accommodating. The condo was clean upon arrival. Pack lite as there is a washer and dryer (suggestion, leave the washer door open to let moisture escape and prevent mildew build up). We had the pool to ourselves every day. Great pool (3.5 to 6 to 9 feet). Plenty of snorkel/beach gear. Take inventory of what is there before buying. We left some beach items to contribute to the fun!
You are very close to downtown with restaurants and shops. Walmart and Safeway are a couple of miles away and Costco is about 15 minutes away.
As some of the other reviewers mentioned, there is no AC which we were a little concerned about but not an issue at all. You can hear cars/motorcycles going by on Alii St (mostly at night as we were out during the day) but it did not bother our sleep. You wake up to birds chirping which we found very tropical and sweet.
The condo is very spacious and comfortable, but does have some wear and tear in and around the property but given the proximity to the ocean it is to be expected but nothing that would keep us from returning. Aloha!

Cecille's condo was the perfect base for our visit to the big island. The condo was beautiful and the view was incredible. Our favorite parts were the pool (pictures did not do it justice) and the lanai. We never heard neighbors above or below us and the sound of the ocean put us to sleep every night. Our kids have never slept better! Air conditioning is not needed and road noise was never an issue. If we ever return it will be here.

We have stayed quite a few times at hale pohaku 4 and enjoy our stay every time. The location is everything with the sounds of the ocean and a little turtle refuge down the beach. Alii Dr can get a little noisy at night but not enough for us to want to stay anywhere else. The owners are easy to communicate with. The condo has everything a person could need.

We had been travelling around the Big Island so finishing at the condo was a welcome end to the holiday. Listening to the waves from the balcony was so relaxing and being able to walk onto the beach so easily to check the rock pools was fabulous.
We were lucky enough to have the pool to ourselves when we used it, which was an added bonus.
The condo is very well stocked in the kitchen, every gadget that you will need if you want to cook. Beach toys and cooler bag were a nice find, we added to the pile ready for the next guests.
There are a few signs of wear and tear around the condo and complex but they are to be expected, especially when so close to the sea air. Not having air con was not an issue for us, the sea breeze and fans were enough to keep us cool. The louver windows are necessary to feel that breeze but it does mean you hear more outside noise than you would with glazed windows, only an issue if you are a light sleeper. The traffic can be heard at night from the main bedroom but again didn’t really bother us.
Definitely would stay here again if we were lucky enough to return to Hawaii

My parents and I really enjoyed our stay at this location. You can’t beat the view, we enjoyed watching sunsets from the lanai each night. Important things to note that other guests have mentioned: (1) not a
Location for light sleepers. You can hear the ocean, the rain, the beautiful birds but also the street traffic. Kona is where the Ironman takes place so there is a lot of pedestrians/ bicycles/ and cars on the road. The louvered windows are typical tropical house design. (We liked it but be prepared). (2) unit does not have elevator and is on 2nd level up about 10 stairs. My almost 80 year old mom could get up to the condo and down to the pool fine but the beach access is steeper stairs and rockier so she did not go to the water. (3) the parking spots are a little tight. If you rent anything larger than a sedan you might need to park in the guest spots, I think a jeep 4x4 or suv would not fit very well. There are several items in the condo that need attention, the sea ocean air has destroyed the patio doors and there was water damage in ceiling in living room from rain. We couldn’t get live tv to work in living room by Netflix was fine. Tv in master didn’t work but honestly we barely watched tv so we didn’t really care. Pros: plenty of dishes and cookware. Pool and beach gear including chairs and coolers, fans to make up for no A/C. Directions and labels everywhere from owners( I found these helpful). Make sure if you go down the pool you remember that you have to walk up 2 sets of stairs to get back to the condo… my dad and I might have scared the downstairs neighbors trying to get into the wrong condo. 😂 Also read the guestbooks and check out the photo albums on coffee table from owners of the remodel.

Beautiful unit in a fabulous location close to Kailua-Kona town and Keauhou! Outstanding things to note - the view (of course!); the beds; the pool (which we had to ourselves every day); access to ocean; and kitchen (including how well-stocked).
Other things to note - this condo is right on the ocean so beware that salt water affects many things like metal hinges and closet door rollers (this is unavoidable and does not reflect on the owner's care of the unit!); the building is located on Ali'i drive so there is traffic noise which dies down late at night; the unit is steps away from the ocean so there is constant ocean noise (great for us, but maybe not for everyone); no A/C but there are super breezes due to proximity to ocean and multiple fans in every room; as other renters have noted, there is some noise from other units (just something to be aware of).
There are just 3 things that needed attention - the hallway smoke alarm needs a new battery as it was beeping; the light in the master bathroom shower needs a new bulb; the closet doors in the second bedroom were very hard to open/close and should probably be replaced as they kept popping off the roller grooves (not ideal for big, heavy, mirrored doors).
Owners were FABULOUS about accommodating our travel itinerary, communication was excellent, and everything at the unit is labelled really well. Overall, a WONDERFUL experience and stay!! Much aloha for the opportunity!!

This property has everything you need, from condiments, beach supplies, to laundry detergent. The host is super nice and responds very quickly. The view is amazing and I enjoyed breakfast very morning watching the waves. The location cannot be any better for Kona. It is a bit noisy, and some parts are a little dated, but the view and the wonderful host makes up for it!

Excellent view and access to beach cove was really great. There's a path in back of the visible cove, which leads to a larger semi-protected cove that is good for younger kids to swim. Stayed late July and it was a bit warmer than anticipated and ended up using all fans available. One or two more fans would be perfect. Pool was warm and bigger than expected. Lots of stock items in kitchen for guest use. Only issue we really had was related to door locks getting a bit stuck likely due to salty air/humidity causing door swelling or sticky locks. We had a fire alarm battery dying and property manager showed up extremely fast to help get it replaced. Just an FYI, there are no windows (louvers), so noise really does travel including other guests slamming doors (easy to do with winds), crying kids, and birds chirping. If you are a light sleeper, recommend ear plugs. Nice residential quiet area, recommend a car if staying here.

What an excellent unit and great host! Cecile is communicative and very welcoming.
We spent 9 nights here. Check in was easy following the directions provided. Unit has a dedicated covered parking spot and is up a small set of steps. Easy to find our way around the area.
The unit was clean and while a bit warm on arrival, opening the louvers and lanai screens cooled it in no time. Didn't miss a/c at all and the breeze and sound of the waves carried all throughout the unit day and night. Some noise from the cars/road but infrequent and typically muffled by the breeze and waves so not obtrusive.
Bedrooms were comfortable with plenty of extra pillows and lots of room for clothes. Laundry worked great and was very nice to have to clean up from hiking and other activities. Plenty of extra beach and bath towels, and lots of beach gear to use as well.
Kitchen may be the most well stocked of any condo we've stayed in. Love that they leave in-date condiments and other non perishable pantry items to reduce waste or overbuying. All appliances worked perfectly and there is plenty of cookware and dishes, good knives and other supplies for those who like to cook. We love not having to dress and go out every night and just prepare a nice meal in with a great view.
We had busy busy mornings and usually came back to spend the afternoon enjoying the waves from the lanai or pool. There is a small beach that can be accessed from the pool gate. Never more than a handful of folks there so qute private and fun to explore the tidepools. Pool was very clean, a comfortable temperature and often we had it all to ourselves.
I'll remember this trip forever, thanks for sharing this beautiful home!

We absolutely loved the location of this property primarily because it was right on the shore and we spent endless hours on the balcony watching & listening to the ocean.

This condo has everything you need to have a beautiful visit. This is a central location for outings around Kona both north and south. No AC, but we knew that going in and not a big issue due to fans and ocean breezes. Our first trip to Hawaii did not disappoint! The unit was in a great location, about 1.8 (easy walking distance) miles to all the action. Fully equipped with all the amenities & more. Had a small issue with a closet rod, which was immediately addressed with a quick phone call. Loved the balcony, which had comfortable furnishings, as we watched the ocean waves crashing about 50ft away. Thanks for your hospitality!! Would come back!

I can’t say enough good things about this property and the property owners! The condo is beautiful and the views from the lanai are stunning! We enjoyed every minute we spent on the lanai and ate most dinners out there while enjoying the sunset. The owners were very easy to contact about anything, including recommendations about site seeing etc. They even left a site seeing guidebook at the front door for us to use for the week. They are very happy to share their home and the love of their island with their guests! Listening to the ocean every night was the best way to fall asleep. We are early risers by nature, so the birds waking up singing in the morning was a great way to wake up. The complex only has 6 units with a dedicated parking spot. This is a great place if you are looking to get away from a big resort and be more on your own. A very short drive to the hustle and bustle of the restaurant and shops of Ali’i drive. If you’re looking to stay in, the restaurant food delivery service Foods of Hawaii was great. We will absolutely be back!

We got to enjoy beautiful sunsets and falling to sleep listening to the waves. I enjoyed my morning coffee watching whales and dolphins play in the distance.

Just 10 minutes away from central Kailua Kona, it was a time capsule from 1970's old Kona. You can hear a song of Cecilio and Kapono.
A cozy beautiful condo along side Ali'i Dr.
Square cut in sky and pacific ocean welcomed us first. Inside the condo, sound of shore break were filled.
At the beach in front of condo, one of the small pools surrounded by lava rock, a baby turtle ate Nori all day.
No air conditioner needed at all because of sea breeze.
The guest book gave us a story that one Japanese family had a 20th visit in this February beginning with the first visit in 1999.

We absolutely loved this condo and location! So relaxing and comfortable! The huge bonus of the beach area is incomparable. We spent so much time down there! Thank you for all the extra beach amenities too ... chairs, umbrella, snorkel gear, everything we needed! Mahalo!!!

The condo is beautiful. The view from the lanai is outstanding. We woke up early each morning just to drink coffee and watch and listen to the ocean.
The owners and the downstairs neighbors were so helpful with places to check out during our stay.
We were there for a wedding. We had a hard time deciding on staying at the resort that family was at or here at the condo. We are so HAPPY that we decided on the condo. The location is perfect, close enough to everything without being in the middle of everything. We had the pool to ourselves.
Having equipment there for us to take to the different beaches was so helpful. The kitchen having all the cooking utensils, pans, and pantry items made it convenient for us to cook breakfast and some dinners.
We had a great time. The condo was perfect for us as a family of four. We are saving our money to return to Kona!

We loved staying in this property & we were the only ones using the pool twice a day. Disappointed by the low number of turtles but at least we saw one. The construction noise from renovations to the unit next door was annoying when we were there during the week but the workers were very understanding about keeping the door closed. The condo had everything we needed and was clean.

We had a wonderful three week stay at this great property. Went swimming every day at the pool. Went to numerous beaches on the west side of the island.
The property is in need of some maintenance, the ocean takes its toll on the metal, but nothing we couldn’t deal with.
The owner was very easy to work with.

For anyone looking for the perfect home-base for your Hawaiian vacation, this is it! We debated where to stay on the island, north of Kona or here...couldn’t be happier with our decision!! We had friends stay north, they missed out on phenomenal views, restaurant and shopping convenience and so very close to all the best snorkeling spots! We traveled with our two teenage girls...set up was perfect! We NEVER ran out of hot water, what a treat! The lanai was our favorite morning spot to watch the kayakers, surfers and of course the dolphins! We could even see yellow tang when the waves would curl. Tge sound of the ocean was so peaceful and relaxing, I miss it! The tide pools are fun to explore in the morning, be sure to walk all the way around to the right. A small beach entrance with a massive tide pool! Thankful the owners left an outside bin with bodyglove shoes for walking the lava rocks around the pools. Also, there were body boards that my kids used on several beaches! The owners have fully stocked the condo with paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags and plenty of condiments and seasonings! We were super excited with the selection and sizes of coolers we could borrow...we had lots of beach front picnics (go to Manini beach and bring a picnic lunch)! The binoculars were fabulous for watching the dolphins. Our number one concern in our initial booking was the absence of A/C...we’re from Texas, so we were concerned. Let me put all of you at ease...it was perfect! We never missed the A/C, never was an issue! Also, I want to point out the closet space was incredible! You won’t be living out of 2 drawers and your suitcase, what a pleasant surprise! It was perfect! In case you haven’t fingered it out, book here! One important side note, rent a 4 wheel drive car from Harpers for your stay...especially if you want to summit Mauna Kea). We truly had an amazing vacation and never wanted to leave. It was hard saying goodbye to our fabulous oceanfront condo and view! Things not to miss:
Snorkeling everywhere you can (especially around Cook’s monument/ the Bay), malasadas (Portuguese doughnuts in Punalu’u Bakeshop), black sand beach, Hilo, Hāpuna beach, Captain Cook roadside market, Kona ice, Hawaiian cheeseburgers...list goes on! Aloha, friends!

As so many others have stated, the view is the best part of this beautiful condo. The beds were so comfortable and the linens were the high thread count type that feel like silk. Loads of provided amenities. The tidal pools right in front of the condo are full of colorful fish and even eels. I would stay here again in a heartbeat in spite of the minor drawbacks. I'm only 5 ft 1, the cupboards must have been designed for NBA players. The microwave was so far above my head I had to use the provided step stool to get my coffee cup if it stopped at the back. The coffee table is a knee or shin hazard. We moved it after we all bumped into it, and rearranged a few things for more comfortable tv viewing to catch the news in the morning. Not much seating for 4, 3 must sit on the couch and look to the far left to see the tv, but we didnt watch much. We also would have loved to had a 2nd table inside, as the stools were not comfortable for very long.The late afternoon sun is intense outside. The neighbors all seemed to have blinds for that, and we met a couple of them and they were so friendly and helpful. The location is wonderful, we so enjoyed the big island, and we would stay here again! It has a lot more positives then negatives.

Our "Grandma's trip" highlight was this BEAUTIFUL condo . . . waves crashing on the lava rocks just off the balcony and the birds singing all day just outside the windows! I am very much a "typical tourist", but even I had to "just be" during our last two days because this condo was so lovely . . . while we decided to forgo our planned day to Hilo to enjoy the condo, it was no where near as missed as the condo would have been had we departed without really just relaxing the last few days! THANK YOU for sharing your lovely home away from home!

Great location! Central to driving to many sights, and even a few places within walking distance. Great lanai! We stayed for a week and there wasn't one day/night that we didn't spend time out there enjoying it. Both bedrooms with adjacent bathrooms are very clean and comfortable. The open kitchen floor plan provides a delightful way to enjoy your morning coffee while looking out to the ocean and hearing the waves. I particularly loved that the condo not only has ceiling fans in every room, but also louvered screened windows on all sides because it kept it wonderfully cool. What a gem! The owners are very helpful, responsive and welcoming. Everything was fantastic. We three thank you!!

As we got out of our car we could hear the pounding waves, as we walked into the apartment the view was breathtaking and incredible. One really cannot describe the beauty. We walked out onto the lanai and aside from the turquoise ocean and white crashing waves we were greeted by two turtles snoozing on the sand. The home is beautifully equipped and remodeled . There are beach towels, coolers binoculars, everything you can need. We awoke the next morning and watched the sunrise from the comfortable sofa on the lanai, coffee in hand as a pod of dolphins swam into the bay. If you are looking for paradise then you will find it from the lanai. Of course the Big Island is the perfect vacation spot with so many wonderful things to do but one can equally spend a wonderful time just staying at the apartment for a day. Dealing with the owner was a pleasure and arrangements were straightforward. We would stay at this rental again in a heartbeat. We cannot wait until our next visit.

Best vacation, best house, best views, best owner response - if you're considering booking this villa, do it! We had so much fun exploring the big island, but one of our favorite activities was just being together on the lanai looking at the ocean!

We came to visit our daughter who lives on the island. So we were a group of 2 47 year olds, a 25 year old and a 23 year old. The home was spacious and comfortable. We kept the windows open the whole time, there were plenty of fans to use, we were never hot in the condo. The chorus of birds awoke us every morning, and we would sit on the lanai enjoying the view. We saw sea turtles, and mid day, you could see the colorful fish when the waves came in before they would break. Spectacular. Beds were comfortable, condo was clean, well appointed and the kitchen is well laid out. Great home base for exploring. We went pretty much everywhere, Waipio Valley was amazing as were the lava tubes in volcanos national park. The pool was a refreshing perk of the condo, the first 3 days we pretty much had it to ourselves when we went down. Walked to the marketplace, and the beach in front of the condo. Truly Spectacular.

This rental was exactly as advertised and I will definitely rebook for our next trip. It was very clean and well maintained with every convenience of home. The online booking was easy and the owner very helpful in answering our questions making for an easy transaction. The condo is located on the 2nd floor of the building, with a beautiful view from the lanai. A very quiet place with only 6 units in the building which only 3 are rentals. A small tide pool with sand and sea turtles right out front and only a 5 minute walk to the Alii Drive Market. Don't look any further; this is the rental that you want!

We came home from the paradise three days ago. Yes, as ever we enjoyed fine weather, beautiful sunset, whales junping, turtles taking nap, birds singing, waves roaring, and boundless ocean and sky. We are thankful to the owner for continuously sharing this special spot of Hale Pohaku, supporting our vacation stay of once a year repeatedly for so long as 16 years.

I booked this condo through the website and was a little apprehensive as I always worry that it may not be as stated. Well, I was not disappointed. The condo was in fact exactly as stated on the website. It was perfect. Spacious open plan kitchen/living room for relaxing. The lanai was massive and we sat there every morning for breakfast watching the ocean and sat there every evening enjoying a glass of wine and watching the sunset. It was a great place to relax, read a book or just watch the waves. The bedrooms were spacious and the beds comfy. Everything was provided, as stated, and we were able to have a wonderful time enjoying this condo and everything it had to offer. The pool was fantastic and the small block of six condos made it a quiet and enjoyable place to stay. We loved it! We were able to cook in the lovely kitchen and eat on the lanai or head out and find some fabulous restaurants, eating the local seafood and fresh produce. Thank you for a fantastic place to stay. We would stay here again!

If you are seeking an oceanfront vacation rental that is beautifully furnished, spacious and comfortable, and that provides all needed supplies and amenities, look no further. The large, private lanai was a magical place to begin and end each of our wonderful days on this very special island. The heated pool was perfect for our 2 year old granddaughter, as was the sandy beach in the small cove just steps away (where turtle sightings are guaranteed).
The design of the small 6 unit complex results in privacy and cooling breezes throughout the condo. The furniture was very comfortable, and the appliances worked well.
The owner was very responsive, and upon arrival, we were greeted with a thank you note and gift. We loved staying at the Hale Pohaku, and we will certainly return.

Those are the words I want to say and you to remember, to keep this place a secret from the world so I can be the only one to enjoy it. But alas, I'm going to try and be a friend (if I have to.... like my wife says) to humanity. This place is fabulous. Do not pass go, do not call your mother for her thoughts, just book it. Book it now.

This condo and the whole condo complex is fantastic. Right on the ocean. A fabulous lanai to watch the waves crash on the VERY close (40 ft from your chair on the lanai) beach rocks.
I must say, eating breakfast on the lanai is such a delight; watching dolphins (just one day) play 100 yards in front of you, or turtles resting on the rocks just below you. The sun rays highlighting the brilliant whites, deep to very pale blues, touches of greens in each unique wave rolling into the beach just in front of you is the quintessential (forget about work and cares of the world on the mainland) paradise experience. Always a refreshing, cool morning breeze to welcome you to another fantastic day in Hawaii.
Each morning on the lanai was a sweet reminder to how beautiful Hawaii is. Each evening on that same lanai, basking in a vivid orange sunset, you have a comforting peaceful sense of satisfaction with your day and life, that you are luckier than most, because you are engulfed (for a short time anyway) in one of the most beautiful places on the planet. This condo does that. Really.
The pool was warm and a lot of fun with the family. Great for afternoon or evening swimming and play with the kids. The condo is well stocked with kitchen stuff. The WIFI works well. You watch 1/10 the TV you normally would, but the TV is fine, if you want. I didn't even watch the Warriors crush the Cavs for the title. It was available (at 3 in the p.m.), but who cares; you're in Hawaii!
Don't be surprised to see most of this cut and pasted as reviews of the other Hale Pohaku condos. We rented all three of them to house our kids, their spouses, and our two amazing grandkids to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary. We wanted to share this lovely place with our family. It is that kind of place.
The other three permanent condo owners (6 condos are all that make up the complex) were not there, so we had the complex to ourselves. It was fantastic! Disclosure; we've rented here before, it is always quiet and peaceful.
