This is actually one of my favorite suites at the Waikiki Grand, not only for the price but the comfort level. Enjoy Sunrise and Sunsets, movies on the beach, the roar of the lions from the zoo, the locals folks trekking back and forth to the beach all day from this large lanai with comfortable furnishings.

Waikiki Grand Suite 516 Reviews

Great location - close to Waikiki Beach and Zoo and a great Diamond Head view. Located just on the edge of busy areas that were just a short walk away - restaurants and shopping. We were given a code to get in but locks had been changed and we had to wait at front desk to check in. Several light bulbs were out, making is a dim space including the windowless bathroom. Very few outlets, that we needed to charge electronics. Mold was beginning to grow under the misplaced air conditioner. Location of unit blew air directly on you when sleeping. We appreciated the beach gear available for us to use.

Building is older, but the value is in its location. enjoyed the very short walk to the beach.

This is a great place to stay if you are on a budget. It has a few issues but overall we were satisfied.

Room was appropriate for our short stay. I would recommend having additional bedding/blankets. Air conditioner could use updating; did not work as well as we hoped.

Great location, decent amenities but the apartment itself had minimal storage and could really use a face-lift.

I really enjoyed my stay! It was a perfect location for walking to restaurants and shops and the beach, of course. The room was clean and cozy. They had snorkel gear for guests to use which was my favorite part! I would highly recommend.

Located on the zoo end of Waikiki, this property is easy to access via bus or uber, and also offers good access to the H1. Plenty of restaurants nearby, as well as ABC and grocery stores. Building is quiet and staff are friendly.

As stated above after a very long flight from California I was sent an email requesting to know my time of arrival to which I responded and was told that when the property cleaning staff clean the room that I would receive an email and or text message with the room number and the passcode. All no avail, in fact I was made to sit and wait in the lobby for more than five hours in need of a shower and rest! I wasted half a day just waiting for the rooms to be clean my room just happen to be the last one! The biggest issue that I have is that when I booked this reservation I was under the impression that I was booking a hotel room from a legitimate hotel not from some young person making money. This was borderline fraud! Moreover, I paid two times the amount that the room would go for had I’ve been allowed to book directly to the hotel itself. Facts, save your money and book your hotel with a legitimate hotel and don’t do business with this group of unethical people. Bishop

Nice small but well appointed condo. Easy to get to bus system, quick meals or last minute purchases. Pretty quiet area except for the AC going at night. Downside is the homeless situation, significant in Waikiki and near the Zoo area in early morning hours and evening. But overall a good location to beach, park, bus.

Wood work was worn on the edges ( I touched-up with creative temp fix).. kitchen faucet was so loose on it’s mount that it almost fell off..! Rowell rack loose ( I tightened with my Swiss Army). Bed “clunked” on movement. Air conditioner stuck OFF many, many times had to be re-started manually. No outside space was big drawback. Never again would I rent or rec this unit. Too highly priced for the Dingy space it was.

Great little spot half of a block from the beach. Nothing fancy about this place, but it really fit what we were looking for. Bed was comfortable, shops around the corner, front desk staff was very kind and we loved that the room had snorkeling bags in the closet. Check out the roof top deck, great unobstructed views!!

This property could use a little maintenance. Same as mentioned in a previous review. Loose kitchen facet, hinges on glass doors need repair - wasn’t as clean as expected. Used my umbrella as a diffuser facing the air conditioner. We are not overly fussy people, and made do. The people, overall facility, THE LOCATION is as described and makes up for a few shortfalls. Would we stay there again? Absolutely

Unfortunately, while the pictures look great, the reality is lacking. The only best thing about it is the location. As to the property, it is very dated and definitely in need of updating. The worst thing is that the air conditioner is old and, despite all efforts, blows directly on the bed. The only way to prevent that was to put the drape over the air conditioner but that results in very little benefit from the cooling. Even in the cooler winter season, the room gets hot from all the older, inefficient lights in the ceiling fixtures. Again, while the mirrored closet doors look great, the reality is that they are very out of adjustment or the track is damaged. It took two hands and much gentle moving to open and close them, so most of the time we left them open. There were other less significant issues with the room that also removed one star. So, to summarize, the location is the only best thing about this property. The owner should fix 3 things to add 2 stars to the rating: 1. Invest in a ducted portable AC unit to allow the guest the ability to meaningfully adjust the air flow to their preferences or at least fix the drape and install an air deflector to direct the cold air up to the ceiling. 2. Install LED bulbs to cut down on the added heat load. 3. Fix or replace the mirror closet doors.

Hawaii was a stage on the way home, where we just wanted to spend time at the beach, be able to come and go as we wanted, have meals or out. The location was perfect and the unit was equipped with everything required. Would stay again.

Condo has been updated nicely and is in a great location. I plan on coming back.

As other reviews have mentioned, the a/c blows directly at the head of the bed. Had to build a chair/pillow fort in order to divert the air. Only one pillow for two guests. Had to request another. Received a pillow with a set of new pillowcases in packaging. They smelled so bad we had to hand wash them before using. Several other issues: -shower doors needed a good scrubbing, -no drying rack for dishes, -kitchen sink faucet loose, -trim around bathroom door comes off when door opened/closed, -pool area smells like kitchen grease. On the positive side, the location was excellent. Quick access to nice beach. Close to Diamond Head. With some maintenance, minor improvements, and change of the a/c situation, could be a much better place. Until then, would not stay again.

I stayed at the apartment with my 20-month old. It was a great little apartment with an amazing location. It's right across from the zoo, Kapiolani Park and the beach! A short walk down Kapahulu put us at local eateries. We also parked at the hotel- while it's not the cheapest at $17/day, it's convenient and still reasonable. Another option is to park at the zoo which is right across the street at $1/hr. I especially appreciated how the host greeted us at the lobby to make sure we check in ok. Their office is right in the lobby of the hotel, so it would have been very convenient to contact them if neeeded. The only complaint I had was having the AC right next to the bed. We ended up opening the window at night instead of having the AC blasting right next to our heads all night. Great host, awesome place and convenient location. I would def stay here again next time we are back in Oahu.

We stayed here for 5 nights and Mark met us upon arrival to Waikiki Grand and then showed us around the unit. The unit is great, complete with a full kitchen and steps from the beach, and shopping for necessities! We especially enjoyed the massage chair!!!

Enjoyed our stay here for a week; The room is not extravagant but it was everything you need especially when you're not planning on hanging out in your room the whole time. Most importantly, it was very clean and well-maintained, towels and toiletries provided, strong A/C, full kitchen supplies (you could easily buy groceries and cook all your meals in the room if you wanted), quick Wifi. Other reviews mentioned noise as an issue as there is a bar on the 2nd floor however we found the room to be very quiet. The property manager was friendly and easy to get a hold of, provided us with lots of info/stuff to do around the area. Check-in/out was easy. Best part: location. Literally across the street from the beach and walking distance to all of the shops, restaurants, etc in Waikiki. Great value and would book here again.
