Bernie was a most wonderful host and very responsive. The condo: Very clean and well equipped to have fun on the beach. We have all heard “Location, location, location”… well this is it. You are right in the center of beaches, food and shops all within walking distance. Couldn’t complain about the view from the Lenai either!

Beautiful property and great location. View from the Lanai was lovely. Directly across from beaches and snorkeling. Lots of good restaurants in walking distance. All the beach supplies you could want were available. The owner was very responsive and helpful.
Only downside for us was no a/c in the bedroom, though most days the breeze thru the unit was sufficient and there was a fan. Bed could use an upgrade. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would return.

The apartment is 5 mins from Kamaole Beach 2 and you have a lovely view of the sea across the road from the apartment complex. Berney was such a helpful host and communication was excellent. The apartment is spacious and clean with everything you need including beach chairs parasol boogie board tennis rackets snorkelling gear.
I would 100% recommend. We do not drive and restaurants/shops are all within walking distance. Such a beautiful island. If you want nightlife (bars/discos) then go to Oahu which is only 30 mins away by plane..

We had a great stay in this condo for about 8 days and it exceeded all of our needs. The location can’t be beat if you enjoy walking along S. Kihei Dr, the quick access to Kamaole beaches 1-3 as well as further south to the beaches in Wailea. The unit is well stocked, clean, and the beach chairs/umbrella made our adventures complete. The two pools are lovely, parking and check-in was a breeze. We hope to be back!

Location was very well situated to 3 beaches within walking distance, close to a few good restaurants and a quick drive to anything else you can need like a few grocery options. Berney has stocked the rents with a bunch of different beach gear that help you save some money on rentals such as snorkels, chairs, body boards and more. We loved having breakfast each morning looking out to the ocean from the patio. It was a perfect vacation at a perfect location.

We really enjoyed staying in the condo. It was fully stocked with everything you needed for a perfect beach vacation. We rented a car and went out every day, so didn't spend much time at the condo or on the property, but the view from the lanai was great for coffee. There were two community pools that seemed nice, and a BBQ area. Condo is right across from the beach, which was convenient and walking distance from food and shops. Would stay here again on our next trip to Maui!

New washer and dryer!!
The kitchen needs new drinking glasses, measuring cups, cookie sheet, containers with lids that fit, different sizes of casserole dishes, teapot. Dry goods, spices etc left behind need to be checked for expiration. Light above stove burned out.
The linens are tired. Only one set of sheets in condo.
Some towels are stained. The pillows need to be replaced.
A nice place to stay, with a few improvements.

Mahalo Berney! Great location, great condo, best stocked kitchen ever at a rental! Air conditioning in living room and fan in bedroom. Backpack Tommy Bahama beach chairs, small cooler to pack lunch and beverages & umbrella for the beach. Boogie boards, tennis racquets, beach towels - you name it! Lacked nothing in this unit for a 2 week stay including a newer washer and dryer. We love the Akahi and all of its amenities including the pools, grills and tennis/pickle ball courts. Amazing ocean view from the lanai for morning coffee or evening wine! Kam 2 right across the street and numerous restaurants within easy walk. We had a rental car but you don’t really need one at this location. This is our 3rd stay in the Akahi complex and the best unit to date. We will definitely return!

Thank you Berney for allowing us to stay at your lovely condo during our first trip to the island of Maui. We have been to most of the islands and must say that Maui is hands down the best! The location was perfect- clean and comfortable, super quiet, everything we could ask for. Footsteps away from the beach, local shops and dining within close walking distance. The facility amenities were amazing-- PICKLEBALL COURT on site, we played every morning before starting our day! Thanks Berney so much for all of the activity recommendations and dining suggestions, you are wonderful host and we hope that you will allow us to back into your condo when we visit again very soon.

We enjoyed our stay. The condo was clean and we had most everything we needed. We especially loved all the beach supplies provided. It’s located in a great area. The decor is outdated, but we don’t care. It is listed as having AC, and the AC will get the living room area cool. It will not get the bedroom cool at all. Fortunately there is a wonderful cross breeze that will keep you comfortable most of the time. Lots of restaurants and shops close by. It’s walkable to the beach. The water was super great at the Kamaole 2 beach, but the beach was nice. There are a ton of great beaches close by. Host is super responsive and a nice guy to add. Definitely would recommend this place.

We don't travel much. We had a few more glitches than expected on the first day. Owner was great. Property manager was a rude tyrant. After the first day, all went well. Wished we knew to stay two weeks instead of one. Perfect trip.

Everything about this stay was exceptional.
Lots of restaurants close enough to walk to. The beach is right across the street. The beach is one of the best beaches we have ever been on, the sunsets were unbelievable.
The condo is very nice and Berney was very easy to get in touch with.
This was a fantastic Hawaiian adventure.

We had such a great experience at Bernie’s place! He was so accommodating and gave us the best recommendations for dinner/beaches/sunsets. The location is great within walking distance to multiple shops beaches and restaurants. You can see the ocean right from the patio (the sunset is outstanding)! The place came equipped with beach chairs, towels, cooler, and a fully stocked kitchen! It does get a little hot at night without AC but the fans make it doable. Would definitely stay here again :)

This is a comfortable condo with a nice view of the Haleakalia, the Pacific, Kaho'olawe, and whales. Breakfasted every morning on the lanai, watched a view movies with DVD, boogie boarded with the boards left in the closet. The bed is comfortable and ventilation was great to the point that we didn't need to use the air conditioner during our 3 week stay. The location with respect to the beach is as good as it gets for a property on the east side of S. Kihei Rd. Its just behind Fred's Restaurant and within easy walking distance to coffee, food, and groceries.

For a couple staying in the center of Kihei across from Kam2 this is absolutely 5 star experience. Lots of included beach gear, kitchen gear, books, etc.
The actual location of the place in the complex is ideal. It was a 5 minute walk away from beach(closer than we have been to beach at all inclusive resorts). It is on 4th floor and far enough away from elevator that noise of surrounding neighborhood is minimized.
Only real negative part for us was the bed. While comfortable to lie on there is something very squeeky about the bed apparatus that was very disruptive whenever me or my wife turned over in bed which did seem to negatively affect our sleep quite a bit.
Everything else was great. Highly recommend. Would go back or recommend to friends.

This stay was awesome beyond words. The condo is in top shape, it’s clean, organized and packed with everything you need to have a great stay. This includes things like umbrellas, beach mats, beach toys, chairs, boards, snorkeling gear, all kitchen supplies imaginable, tv, high speed Internet, free parking and so much more. The condo complex is great. It has a pool, tennis court and security patrolling all night (Not that it is needed anyway, Maui is very safe)
The location of the condo couldn’t be better, it’s in the center of everything. It’s in Kihei which is perfectly located between Kaanapali and Wailea. There are multiple great beaches within walking distance (3-10 minutes walks) and tons of restaurants, shops and Cafes.
The view from the condo is breathtaking and the breeze from the balcony is amazing, we didn’t need to use the AC at all even in August. The weather is always great.
Berney (The host) is a great host and as outlined above he has thought about every little detail to make our stay more comfortable.
Something to reiterate again is the cleanliness of the condo, I have never stayed at a hotel or any other place that was clean as this. This for me is the most important thing and it made me feel at home in Maui. Look no further if you are planning to stay in Maui.

Our condo was very clean, but could use a new couch and updated cabinets. The ocean view was ok, the other tenants were very friendly, and the complex was really quiet at night. We really enjoyed being in a great location to explore the island! Plenty of great food and shopping within walking distance.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Berney's condo for a week! It was perfect for what we needed. The place was very clean and had everything including beach gear which was so helpful! We cooked some nights and ate out on the lanai overlooking Kamaole Beach Park 2. This beach is right outside of the condo complex! The breeze at night inside the condo was lovely. Kihei itself doesn't have a town center, it's more of a spread out town, but Berney's condo was in one of the main hubs. Short drive to Wailea town as well. We used the pools in the condo as well and did some night swimming! All in all, it was a wonderful trip and having Berney's as our home base was so comfortable and enjoyable.

Bernie’s rental was just what we hoped for. It is just across the street from a great beach, a five minute walk. It is very close to shops and eateries but it is surprisingly quiet. It is also close to Wailea and many other beaches. The apartment is nicely furnished, comfortable and affordable. Bernie was very helpful prior to our arrival and during our stay. He kept us informed regarding travel restrictions and requirements. We would definitely recommend this rental.

Location location location! This property is right across a snorkeling beach! First day we swam with turtles! The apartment is on the 4th floor with elevators and has beautiful views of the ocean! The condo is well equipped and we were lacking nothing. The owner really thought of everything! He was also available throughout for questions and ideas! We would love to come back one day!

My husband and I had a wonderful time at Berneys condo. The condo itself is great, the property grounds are beautiful, and the location to the beach and some great restaurants/shops can’t be beat!
