Cute and private plantation-style cottage within walking distance of the beach, plus private parking. Great place to just relax and stay home, or a basecamp for all island activities.

The house is a classic beach house with loads of character. If you are looking for an authentic (non-condo) holiday stay, this is the place for you. We were a family of 5 and where very comfortable. It is a short 2 min walk to a small beach good for morning dips. There is a good corner shop 5 mins walk away that serves good coffee and snacks. Mama’s Fish House is also 2 mins walk away.

Great home and location right near the beach. The market down the street was awesome, and the town of Paia was wonderful. Highly recommended.

Everything was terrific except for the key box. Difficult to get into. Place itself was kind of cool old Hawaiian. Neat , clean, charming.

Great property very very short walk to the beach (2 locations we found, a nice sandy beach with sea turtles and an easy walking rocky beach) . Loved walking up to the corner store. Thank you!

This was our second time staying in this house and once again it was perfect. We were there celebrating our tenth anniversary with our two young sons. Having the beach just steps away meant we could go swim a couple times a day without loading everybody into the car and trekking out somewhere. We could easily pop back to the house for nap time as well. It was a very restful, low-stress way to enjoy our time on Maui. The home is beautiful and clean, the location couldn’t be better, and the host is helpful and attentive. We would love to return again!

What a perfect place for our first trip to Maui. House was better than expected and the location couldn’t have been better. Paia is an awesome small Hawaii town away from the mega resorts. Great starting off point for any adventure you desire. The small beach close by was perfect for our little people. Really can’t wait to come back. Mahalo Kalia for the hospitality. -Chad

We had the best time. It was the perfect spot for our group. We went with another couple and both of our husbands were celebrating their 70 th birthday. It was so nice having the yard. We sat outside and had wine in the evening. Such a short walk to the beach and the first day there was a turtle sunning on the beach. We snorkeled with two turtles another day. I love the town of Paia. So cute and laid back. I can’t wait to come back and I wouldn’t hesitate to book this wonderful little house again. It felt like home away from home. We did not want for anything… thank you for such great memories

Charming beach cottage with three bedrooms, two bathrooms. Very clean and good communication with the host. Great little market/deli just a 5 min walk away for morning lattes (and vegan options). Quiet residential neighborhood close to Mama's Fish House, and a few minutes drive into Paia for shopping, restaurants and Baldwin Beach. Sorry to leave when the week was up, had a great stay.

Our family of four stayed for a few weeks enjoying every aspect of Kuau and the north shore in this quintessential beach house. We loved the open and airy feel of the house, the quick and easy access to two beach spots, started our days with treats from the Kuau Store, and conveniently travelled to Paia and Kanaha filling our days with wind, surf, sun and fun. The house had a wonderful vibe about it which felt very restorative and we were never feeling at a loss for anything (everything well stoked and appointed etc). It was a dreamy place to be (more than once we wished we could own a house just like it) and we can’t wait to return. Kalia was super and kind and helpful to work with and we enjoyed meeting her.

The house is beautifully decorated, kitchen fully equipped. Two spacious bedrooms, great dining room table that seats a healthy number, large living room area to spread out. Additional bedroom with two twin beds and separate bathroom. A minute's walk to the beach to watch the ocean (go either back past Paia to Baldwin Beach or Paia Bay or beyond the house to swim and surf) and to gourmet corner store for essentials and more. Basically quiet neighbors. Great restaurants in Pais (we liked Hana Ranch Provisions especially). We will certainly return!

3 ocean access paths very nearby - one sandy (near Mama's Fish House); all are quick & easy to get to. Saw many large turtles (sometimes 10-15) feeding on the rock vegetation on the rocky ones - hard to navigate but well worth it. Mama's Fish House is a must - you can walk from the house - make a right out of the house - right at the little road and walk 75 yards, down the hill to enter - $$$$ - but well worth it. Food and drink was so delicious! The view's of the ocean from Mama's is unbelievable! House is very close to Paia - but not too close. Very, very quiet area. Yard is very beautiful. Paia has many places (food, bars, art, sightseeing, etc.) and surrounding area is chock full of things to see. Rent a small car if your going to travel the Maui perimeter roads (we rented a 4 door Sentra) - very tight roads! You can also walk to the store to get essentials. Very good location! Clean house with decks and good size rooms.

This rental was a pure joy. Charming, close to the beach, and quiet. Served perfect as home-base for all the activities on the island.

We wanted a house to rent for the week, and we found it! A nice three bedroom cottage, "old school" if you will. Comfortable, with plenty of space for four adults. Nice big walk in shower in the main bathroom. Tucked in a neighborhood with access to the small beach behind Mamas Fish House, one of the fine seafood restaurants on Maui. There is a nice little deli/gocery store at the entrance to the neighborhood at Hana Highway. Some tasty grinds. The neighborhood is just over a mile east of the main intersection of Paia, an easy bike ride, but there's bus service as well via the #35, or a quick car ride. Great shops, restaurants/bars, and a cool grocery store, Manu Foods. Some of the great surfing and wind surfing beaches of the world are right along the coastline here, and although we don't, we went and watched a few times. If you cycle, there's a couple of shops in town you can rent from, as well as companies that provide organized rides from the top of Haleakala, which is a must see regardless of how you get there. Easy drive to the upcountry too, visit some of Maui's cowboy rich history and get some great views. You're only 5 miles from the airport and Maui's largest town, Kahuli. About 20-30 minutes from the wonderful beaches by Kihei down to Wailea and McKena, known for snorkeling, diving, and fishing. I would do it again in a heartbeat.
