If you are looking for the best view for a 2bed 2bath at Honua Kai, it might be hard to beat this one. A view of all three pools and close to the ocean. The nearby elevator takes you down right to the pool. Our family loved it.
We visited soon after the area opened back up. Bruno kept us up to date on everything in advance to let us know we could still visit the island. After spending 7 nights there we felt the love of all the locals who were glad to see tourists coming back.
We took a snorkel boat to Molokini Crater, got surfing lessons, did a dinner cruise, got great food and beverages at Dukes and other establishments, and the main theme was they were all so glad to get back to some normalcy.
The condo is well equipped with everything you need. Beds were super comfortable. TV in living room and bedrooms were the perfect size and also newer models. boogie boards and beach chairs provided.
Honua Kai is the only resort we will stay at in Maui. Its the best. This condo and the owners will make you so happy you booked with them.

As soon as I booked my stay about 9 months ago, I received a phone call from Bruno Tonin - the property owner. He was very communicative and was warm and hospitable. He sent us a wealth of information - recommendations of things to do and see to make our first visit to Maui amazing. We were in touch on several occasions prior. The condo is well-cared for, immaculately clean, and well stocked. The view of the ocean and pool from the condo is spectacular. We took many of Bruno’s suggestions and especially enjoyed the sunset cruise and Old Lahaina Luau. Bruno’s excellent communication, hospitality and attention to detail made this a perfect vacation in paradise. We stayed here with my sister and her husband and appreciated the two king beds and bathrooms. Towels, paper products, beach chairs, laundry detergent, dishwasher detergent was all provided. Monty was our contact on Maui and he was also in touch with us. The service from both Bruno and Monty was exceptional. Mahalo!

It starts with the host, then the lanai and view and just keeps going. First class furnishings, comfortable beds, including sofa bed, my daughter and granddaughter slept on it all week. Things are stocked you do not expect, paper towels, baggies, etc. lots of beach chairs. The place was immaculate and nothing needed upgraded or repaired. Hosts are available if needed. Best stay ever; can’t wait to return. Book it you will not be disappointed, worth every penny and then some.

The unit was clean and has gorgeous view. We loved that both bedrooms had king beds and there was a sleeper sofa. It was so helpful that there were plenty of paper towels, laundry detergent, liquid handsoap (not the bars!), baggies, spices, etc. The owner went out of his way to be accommodating and polite. We loved the complex too with a waterslide, the waterfall pool was heated, multiple hot tubs. Was glad the owner recommended water shoes because tons of rocks in the ocean. Onsite Dukes restaurant was good food and amazing views.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Honua Kai Resort through VRBO with my family, including our 8-month-old baby. I must say, it was an absolute dream vacation, and we are already planning to return. From the owner's helpfulness during the booking process to their responsiveness throughout our stay, the level of service provided was outstanding.
The property itself offered a breathtaking ocean view that was truly awe-inspiring. We spent countless hours on the balcony, mesmerized by the beauty of the sparkling waves and the soothing sounds of the ocean. It created the perfect backdrop for quality family time and relaxation.
The location of the property was another highlight of our stay. With its close proximity to restaurants and several beautiful beaches, we were able to explore the local culinary scene and enjoy the sun-kissed shores effortlessly. We loved our stay at the Tonin’s condo. The accommodations were exceptional and the view was amazing!! There was more than enough room for our family of 4 (all adults), and the complex is very well maintained and safe. Pools and beach at resort were beautiful! We saw turtles and whales right off the beach at the complex! Restaurant on property was good for breakfast and takeout dinner (make reservations early for dinner). Condo has Keurig and coffee maker but and we especially enjoyed coffee bar downstairs! Would definitely recommend this condo to anyone!

We just spent a week at Bruno's condo and cannot say enough about how lovely, clean and well-stocked it was. I had read the other reviews and similar to those, Bruno called me as soon as we reserved and shared details on the unit and tips for our trip and during our stay was very prompt in responding to texts. While in Hawaii, we also texted with Monty the property manager who was also super responsive.
In terms of supplies, we stayed for a week and never had to get cleaning supplies, paper towels, etc. There was plenty to last us the week, which was incredibly convenient.
The unit itself is beautiful and spacious with great views and easy access to the beach, pools and amenities of the resort. And, we were lucky enough to see a humpback whale and calf breaching out of the water while eating dinner one night, which was so special.
Thank you Bruno for the hospitality - it was such a special trip with great memories for us all!

We had the most wonderful time at the property with our family of 5. Watched whales from the lanai, steps away from the pool, beach, great food and sunshine. The check in and check out was the smoothest I have ever experienced! We loved the convenient under ground parking garage for when we zipped around the island for family fun. Aloha - My family of 4 stayed at this amazing condo Feb 12th - 23rd 2023! We can’t speak highly enough about the unit and resort. My kids ages 7 and 8 went with us and it was the perfect place for us! My boys loved sharing a room and all the beds were very comfortable. The washer and dryer were a huge bonus and we were able to do laundry as needed. The beautiful lanai was breath taking! We saw TONS of whales breaching and the tikis around the resort at night were a beautiful sight. The lanai overlooks the pool which my kids loved. The condo itself was immaculate with all the bells and whistles. It was fully stocked with toilet paper, paper towel, laundry detergent ect… My 7 yr old son is physically handicap (uses a walker to get around) and the condo was so convenient for him. The room is right by the elevator which is a major bonus for us. The bathroom even had a stool for him to stand up on and brush his teeth. My boys loved the boogie boards in the closet that you could take to the beach. Bruno was in touch from the moment we arrived. He was always accessible and i appreciated that so much!! He even called me directly when we originally booked the trip (10 months) prior to the trip. Great condo, great resort and great host!! We can’t wait to come back!! Thanks for helping my family make the BEST memories in Maui!

We had a magical time at this condo! Whale watching from the balcony every morning was a highlight. Beds we’re comfortable and everything was well stocked. We had excellent communication with the owners about what to expect. The resort was beautiful and we enjoyed the music at night from the restaurant below. Amazing Unit, Great Property but even better customer service. From initial booking to final checkout everything about Bruno and his customer service was top notch. I am always nervous renting from individuals vs. a company but Bruno eased my mind from initial booking. He called personally and wanted to check in even though it was ten months before our trip. He shared his love for Maui and provided all sorts of useful information for booking our vacation, not just the condo. He was always available via text and had a point person on the island in case anything went wrong. The unit was stocked to the nines with everything you would need. The views were spectacular for sunsets and whale watching. Five stars!!

Ahhh, where to begin?! Just got back from a beautiful 7 night stay at Brunos, and WOW! Let me be clear, this isn’t your typical VRBO. This is like staying at your friends home, fully stocked, CLEAN, quality lines, soaps, cleaners, etc. No short cuts were taken, at all! The view was awesome. In the morning we would listen to the relaxing sound of the waves, at night we would enjoy the tiki torch lights and people watch. We had our 1 year old with us, and we were fine with having her crawl as the place was that clean. There was nothing we could have asked for, other than to stay another week! LOL. If you choose Brunos, know that you are not booking a basic VRBO, this is luxury, and you will be very well taken care of. I will definitely be back, and I thank Bruno for sharing his beautiful home with us.

Beautiful property, wonderful views, centrally located, as there are many activities in the area. The property had everything a family needs to enjoy themselves in and out of the property. The check in was a snap and the bellman were great helping get our groceries and luggage to our room. Parking was easy and convenient. The condo was clean and comfortable and was fully stocked with everything one would need. The owner were wonderful and attentive to our needs prior to arrival and ongoing once there. Will book again, just great to work with.

This property deserves more stars than it allows me to give! Not only is the condo beautiful and fully stocked, the view is amazing! It has a gorgeous view of the ocean while overlooking the pools and Duke's (which is beautiful at night with all the tiki torches burning). On top of all that, Bruno is an amazing host! He treated us like family and was so kind and generous. The communication was excellent! When Bruno was on an airplane and unavailable, his brother Roger responded immediately to the questions I had and was extremely helpful. I cannot say enough good things about our time here. For our beach days and our road to Hana, the host provided beach bags, umbrella, boogie boards, beach chairs and portable coolers which saved us from having to purchase at Costco. The views of the ocean were amazing and the listing was accurate in the description of the ocean views. The unit itself had high-end appliances and finishes and plenty of space for us and our two teenage children. We enjoyed exploring different beaches and restaurants and also enjoyed the pool and dining in the unit. The unit was well stocked with paper towels, toilet paper and all of the necessities in the kitchen. The lanai provided us with indoor/outdoor living that was nice to have after sunset for playing cards or having a glass of wine. We would highly recommend this unit and resort! This is a wonderful condo and I’m so happy we picked it. Bruno was so easy to work with from day one. The views were incredible, the condo was in great condition and it was very nicely stocked, made our stay wonderful.
The resort itself was getting painted so there was some construction going on near our room, but that didn’t bother us too much. Glad they are updating the resort though it could use a bit of a facelift.

Visited this property last week with my sisters and mother. Have stayed at this property before but not in this unit. It was absolutely fabulous and everything was as advertised. Clean unit with beautiful views. Could’ve spent most of my time of the lanai enjoying the ocean views and views of Dukes restaurant’s tiki torches. Bruno was fabulous and responded to any questions immediately.
The unit was well stocked and we enjoyed not having to stock up on toilet paper and paper towels as we’ve had two with other VRBO rentals. I would highly recommend staying at this property.

Just came back from a nine night stay at this beautiful condo. Everything was perfect! We (4 adults, including 2 over 65) absolutely loved our stay at this condo and resort. The condo is every bit as described in the listing - spacious, clean, close to everything, and amazing views!! The condo is extremely well stocked, which, if you tend to stay at VRBO type properties when you travel, is a real difference maker. We didn’t have to buy TP, garbage bags, Kleenex, detergent, etc. - the condo is well stocked with everything you need. I interacted with both Bruno and Roger before and during our stay, and both were terrific to talk to, had great suggestions for our visit, and were very responsive to questions and issues. This is one of the best rental properties we’ve ever stayed it. We definitely hope to return!!!

We stayed for three weeks and felt quite at home in the condo. The unit was extremely well stocked with everyday essentials like laundry soap, shampoo, garbage bags, etc. The view was lovely and we enjoyed overlooking the pool area and Duke’s restaurant in the evening as we were able to enjoy some of their live music when we sat on the patio. The resort is great. Pools are heated and we enjoyed the beach in front of the resort. I would recommend this unit to anyone. We will be back!

Our family of 5 stayed at the condo for a week in June 2021. The condo was incredibly clean, check-in was easy and the location was great. The view is AMAZING! Honua Kai is a wonderful resort style property that offers something for all ages. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Bruno. He went above and beyond from day 1 to make our vacation wonderful. He personally called and answered all my questions and sent tons of recommendations for the island. We just returned from a wonderful vacation in Hawaii with Maui being our first week. We couldn't be more pleased with our stay at this beautiful condo. The location was perfect...close to dining and shopping but away from the craziness of the touristy spots. Very easy drive to many beautiful beaches and breathtaking scenery. We took a couple of drives just north of Kaanapali along the north shore. We really liked that area. We hiked down to the blow hole, marveled at the cliffs and the gorgeous water. We did come upon a portion of the road where it got so narrow, we decided not to go any further. We watched other cars as they had to back up to let cars pass as it turned into a one lane road. Later we read an article about a tragedy that occurred earlier this year due to the narrow curvy road. Its beautiful but be very cautious! We tried several "recommended" restaurants but actually preferred the more "hole in the wall" places. We liked Lahainatown the best. For nice dining, I really liked Fleetwoods, owned by Mick Fleetwood (drummer and leader of Fleetwood Mac), but there are so many great places to check out. Our favorite place was Spanky's in Old Lahainatown ($3 drafts beers, burgers and onion rings all within a reasonable price and local atmosphere). I would also recommend Slappy Cakes, which is walking distance from the condo.
As far as the condo itself - about as perfect as I could hope for. The beds were very comfortable. I appreciated the large ceiling fans in both bedrooms and living room, in addition to the central air. The place is immaculately clean. The kitchen is very well stocked with all the cooking supplies you could need and everything is in very good condition. Mostly I have to say, the view from the lanai is excellent. We spent every morning there for coffee and every evening for cocktails. I loved looking at the tiki torches along the property, easily seen from our lanai. All in all, I have to say this is the best condo I have ever rented and look forward to another visit. Well done, Tonin's!

We were looking to stay in a condo with accommodations for 6 that was close to the beach with a pool and this place was that and so much more! It has a well stocked kitchen, large lanai, great views of the beach and pools and close to everything. This place did not disappoint in any way! It was exactly what was described on the website and more.

Our stay in Hokulani 605 was nothing short of perfect. The bow from the lanai of the pool and sunset was spectacular. The room was clean, well appointed with nice furnishings, and stock full of amenities with everything from pool and beach gear to necessities, and condiments. The room lacked for nothing. On arrival there were two minor issues with the coffee maker and the refrigerator and the owner had them fixed immediately, including the delivery of a brand new coffee maker within just hours of our arrival. The process leading up to our arrival was perfect. Bruno reached out to me often with welcoming information and was immediately responsive when the minor issues arose upon our arrival. It is obvious that he and his family have a pride of ownership of this unit and really wants every guest to have every amenity possible. We will definitely recommend it his property and would love to stay there on our next visit. Thanks again Bruno. We loved it!!!!

This was our first VRBO rental and everything was perfect! Our family of 4 spent one week. First of all the view from the balcony is postcard perfect! We ate many meals and just lounged on the balcony everyday.
Secondly, the unit is fully equipped with everything that you might need, including beach chairs, beach toys and coolers.
Last but not least, the owner Bruno Tonin is fantastic! He is proactive and very responsive to your questions and needs.

This place is amazing and Bruno is great to work with. This was our second time staying here. I can not say enough about it. The view is amazing. The room is huge with a nice kitchen, but the deck and view are the best part.
I love to snorkel. We went to Black Rock, Honalua Bay, Napilli Bay, and a snorkel tour to Lanai, but the best place is in front of the condo down to airport park heading south in front of the Westin. The best lunch is Malibu seafood tacos "to go" at the Fish Market. Bring them back up to your amazing deck.
I hope to return every year. I can't wait to go back!! Thank you Bruno for sharing your piece of paradise!!

This unit was a great 2 bedroom 2 bath unt. Plenty of room for our family of five. Full size washer and dryer were great keeping up with our group. Kitchen was nicely appointed and closet with beach chairs, cooler and boogie boards was really appreciated! Onsite rental of snorkel and other gear was very convenient. We have been to Maui twice and our view here was the best!
If we return to Maui again I will definitely head back to this unit for our stay. Wonderful accommodations!

We just arrived home and are already missing the magic of Maui! My 4 sisters and I had a wonderful reunion week together and fell in love with Maui and our lovely "home" for the week! The condo was absolutely beautiful, well appointed with everything you need and very upscale! So convenient to everything and the 2 landscaped pools and beach were fabulous. We loved Dukes too, great drinks, food and music! Daily walks to black rock were exhilarating and snorkeling right off the beach was fabulous, the turtles, fish and coral. We enjoyed our wonderful meals and drinks on the lanai, watching the sunset and the gorgeous blue ocean. Enjoyed the convenience to shops and restaurants! Fabulous condo in every way!

A very nice property, clean, and very well maintained. The owners have thoughtfully provided everything you might possibly need for a relaxed vacation, including all the gear you might need to have a picnic on the beach, if you feel so inclined. They were also very easy to deal with, and I'd recommend calling if you have any questions.
The location is wonderful. Duke's Restaurant was very convenient, and the little grocery store in the complex has a great selection of food. I had been warned that everything was overpriced in Kanapali, but I didn't find that to be the case. There is a convenient supermarket a few miles down the road that has everything and more. I would highly recommend renting a car and not depending on cabs.
The only thing we found lacking was perhaps unique to our situation: we were there for a wedding and the ladies missed having a full length mirror in the condo, so they could check themselves out before leaving each evening. Other than that, everything was perfect.

We have traveled around the world, and been to some amazing places. But I think last week was the best vacation of my life, and in large part due to the fantastic stay at this vacation rental.
The resort is fabulous with great pools, food locations on property and close by. The beach is beautiful. The under ground parking is super convenient. The actual home is beautiful, clean, and fully-stocked. We had every kitchen utensil we needed, plenty of towels, and lots of beach gear. There were little touches that made our trip extra special, for example, the home has beach toys, which was so fun for the baby.
I am usually not a fan of staying anywhere more than once when we travel, but we will definitely be coming back here!
Recommendations for food: Honu Grill (10 minute drive) Fish Market (5 minute drive) and Mill House restaurant at the planation (40 minute drive but amazing amazing food).

We were very impressed and very pleased with this condo. It exceeded our expectations. The view from the lanai is amazing. It's fully stocked with beach needs. The kitchen is fully stocked with all you would need for cooking meals. The resort is equally pleasing! The pools and water slide were great fun. We would definitely stay here again. We also loved eating at Dukes on the beach. Highly recommend this condo and resort!!

One word - MAGNIFICENT. Rarely do we feel an all around exceptional experience when traveling. In addition to having excellent accommodations, the owners are so great and courteous to work with in planning. Extremely flexible and thoughtful. They set up the concierge ahead of time and all our groceries awaited and neatly packed away when we got in. YES PLEASE! Also, they had all our beach needs tucked in the closet! Thank goodness!
The owners here put extraordinary effort into comfort of their guests. This 2 bedroom suite is marvelous with extremely comfortable beds, separate COMPLETE master bathrooms with marble sinks. The living space is huge with sweeping views of the ocean and swim area. Kitchen is huge with seating area and everything you need to cook a gourmet Hawaiian dinner at home! Step off the elevator and right at the pool! At one point I was in the pool and my mother waving down at me from the balcony!! The access to the room is absolutely perfect. NOTE! This hotel has a 3 mile running/walking paved path that is ocean side. I am a runner and it was just remarkable to take a jog and take in the scenery and people watching.

Having seen the resort built, I was curious to stay and check it out. The rooms were clean and the view was great. Being on the top floor it was very quiet as well-some other resorts you can hear people walking around above so we really desire top floors. The screen door gets blown by the wind and the "scorpion" on the top is broken. I asked a maintance man at the resort and he said this is common with the door. In the Master bath one of the overhead lights comes on when you turn the lights on and then quickly goes out. The fridge ice maker was broken, and was being repaired after our departure. The owners were very nice about communicating with us and took good care of us and our concerns. I would definately reccommend renting this unit as it is stocked with everything you need in the kitchen and for beach/pool supplies. Dukes provides food/beverage service at the pool as well. Book it, you wont be disapointed!

we had a great time in Maui and H605 was the perfect condo. The location is wonderful - overlooking the best pool, great ocean view, close to Duke's (if you didn't make a reservation, you can look down and see how long the wait is for dinner!) The unit is in a great spot on the property - right by an elevator that will take you down to the pool, or to the underground parking. There are a few parking spots way back in the corner that no one seems to notice and are really close to the elevator, so it's almost as if we had reserved parking. The kids also loved the middle pool with the slide and waterfalls - and one rainy afternoon the whole family enjoyed the waterslide, including my 67-year-old dad. The condo was well-equipped and we loved the beach gear, including chairs, coolers, boogies boards, and 2 snorkels. we rented some fins and additional snorkels for the week.

This condo and resort was amazing. We chose it based on the wonderful reviews and we are so glad we did. Bruno was so responsive and Candice greeted us so warmly. She was just a text away and offered up so many sight seeing suggestions and places to eat. We took in a Luau, went surfing and took an amazing Road to Hana tour with Candices help.
The resort catered to our needs for gluten free options and coffee in their cafe and the pools and beach were pristine. If you are looking for a well kept condo with things like a washer and dryer, boogie boards, sand toys (we left ours😊), beach chairs, coolers, towels and even sunscreen for your tan (we stocked this😊) then this is the place for you.
Don't hesitate to book. It is worth every penny!

We had a fabulous time. The condo is very clean, larger than expected, the view is awe inspiring and the two nearly identical bedrooms suited our two couples perfectly. It is well stocked with all the little things that make extra shopping trips for supplies unnecessary. It is clear that you have made an extraordinary effort to make your guests feel welcome and comfortable. The elevator to the secure underground parking lot and ground floor is right next door - very convenient. Your responses to questions were immediate and much appreciated. The condo was absolutely beautiful. Everything was of the highest quality and it was clear the owners wanted their guests to have a great time. The views are fantastic - just like the photos on the website. We were very happy with the location -- close to everything we wanted to do. Duke's restaurant is very good (we ate in the restaurant a couple times and also had lunch poolside). It's a bit pricy but everything is in Hawaii. Location is very convenient to other needs (grocery, pizza, ice cream, water sport rentals, etc). The market in the hotel lobby is great and has a large gluten-free selection which was great for my daughter's dietary needs. Highly recommend and would definitely stay here again.

My family and I want to thank you very much for the wonderful accommodations that exceeded our expectations. It was my daughter’s first time to Hawaii and your condo was simply the icing on the cake for our trip! I’ve been in the travel industry for over 30 years and have been coming to Maui since 1987. Until we stayed in your condo, I had never stayed at ANY accommodations on the island that was better equipped for guests. Your attention to the small details, such as stocking laundry soap, bathroom tissue, cleaning supplies and beach chairs, enabled us to focus on the main reason for our trip…to relax and enjoy the island! The spectacular views from the lanai (as well as its size), were perfect! We made use of the kitchen and made several meals during our stay but we also enjoyed Duke’s and the other TS Restaurants such as Kimo’s (my personal favorite) and The Hula Grill and Barefoot Bar. The location of the condo also gave us the opportunity to walk the beach down to Black Rock and just enjoy the scenery. I took my family to the Old Lahaina Luau (best on Maui in my opinion) and they loved it! Having been there several times before, I booked our reservations a number of months in advance and it really paid off. We had traditional seating and one of the best tables…so the sooner you book, the better the seats! We also drove the road to Hana and hiked to Waimoku Falls, through the bamboo forest, located in Haleakala National Park. We ended our trip by zip lining above Kapalua. Try Kapalua Zip Lines…they have seven lines and great views. For those reading this review, what is in the VRBO description for this condo is really what you get during your stay. No fluff, no false statements…just a beautiful property that will enhance your stay on Maui. My wife already wants me to book this unit for next year!

We would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for everything! We are so lucky and fortunate to have come across your listing on VRBO and select to stay in your lovely condo. As we begin the check-out process, we think about all the wonderful memories we made in the last 10 days here. Your VRBO listing is exactly what’s here – maybe what’s here is EVEN BETTER than you described! Your condo is in immaculate condition and is well-equipped and fully thought out for everyday living. Every type of utensil we needed was stocked here. It’s an added bonus that you stock paper towels, toilet paper, tissues, garbage bags, and cleaning supplies. Groceries on the island are quite pricey, so by you having the Costco necessities for your renters is a cost savings that I do not think other rentals supply and people would realize adds up. In addition, it’s wonderful to have access to the lawn chairs, coolers, and water toys. The views are amazing as your condo is perfectly situated at the resort by our favorite pool and gazebo that we rented several days. The self parking underneath the building that you told us about was so convenient for our daughter who sustained the back injury shortly before flying here. It was helpful to have the elevator right by parking, which gets us out a few steps from your unit. Your concern for our daughter upon our arrival was something we have never experienced before and it meant so much to us. After we spoke, we became more and more adjusted to her limitations to make the best of our stay. We even found a wheelchair rental through Gammie over by the airport that we rented so we could be out for longer with her. While here, we also visited Haleakala, drove to Hana, and attended the Old Lahaina Luau. My husband and I woke early a few mornings and walked the Kapalua Trail one morning and then walked past Whaler’s Village to the Hyatt (a nice 6 mile round trip scenic walk) another morning. We recommend your rental without any hesitance to others, and we hope to return to your beautiful property in the future and work with you and your property manager, Candice (who was also phenomenal). Thank you for everything and a big virtual hug to you, Roger, and your entire family. We appreciate your communication/responsiveness prior to and after booking - what a reassurance to deal with such honest, trustworthy, and genuine people! Highly recommend this condo and working with these owners. First, the condo is even bigger and better decorated than the pictures show and the lanai is huge. It has 2 seats to lounge in, one outside the master and a full dining room table that easily fits 6-8. Bathrooms are large, classy and include a nice shower, separate toilet, and deep bath. We loved every meal we had out there as well as enjoying coffee and a book at sunrise. The views are amazing and having the pool and big grassy area below is ideal for those with older kids as you can see them swimming from the lanai. The owners have the kitchen stocked with everything you might need, real glasses/wine glasses, as well as some useful tips for the island and guidebooks/binoculars. The extras like backpack beach chairs w pockets and multiple ice chests was great for taking to the resort beach, to the pools, and on days visiting other beachers and Road to Hana. The location was ideal for us -centrally located to fantastic snorkeling and swimming beaches north and south, close to a zip line take off and boat trip, a good snorkel rental company right across the street, and just the right distance from Lahaina. It is also close enough to elevators (far enough that cant hear) that you can park in the shade underground and dont wast a lot of time hauling stuff back and forth across the resort. MUCH nicer than the Westin just south and the Sheraton which looks amazing online. Resort has beautiful plants and trees and is kept clean without constant sound of mowing or loud maintanance men. The reef outside has a large variety of fish and little sea turtles on the south end of resort, an uncrowded beach with beautiful trees. Also when a guest was playing excessively loud music (rare as most were calm, family oriented or quiet couples)- security was quick, polite, and responsive. We will definitely be coming back to this condo!!!

I actually combined a business trip in which I had a CE course at the Sheraton with our family vacation. At the CE course, I ran into a college classmate and his wife and daughter who were staying at the Sheraton. We ate dinner with them at Dukes one night and then brought them up to see our room. They were BLOWN AWAY!! Talk about a difference between a hotel room and this roomy 2 BR, 2 bath unit for 10 nights!! I had the whole family packed into 3 carry-on's as far as clothes because we had a washer/dryer (we scuba dive so I had some scuba gear we had to check). The owners had this place stocked and ready for us!! Shampoo, conditioner, sunscreen, beach chairs, towels, laundry detergent. We went to Costco on our way in and then to Safeway down the road a time or two to grab an item or two. We did eat out some, but did several meals in the room. My husband barbecued on the resorts grills for three or four of our meals. We just had the best time! The snorkeling is great right there at the resort!! The pools were great (not too cold at all - I can't stand a cold pool). Hot tub was great. The kids said the work out room was nice (I skipped that...). I hope I can come back to Maui soon!! My kids want to move there :). Thank you again so much for this condo!! Maui is so beautiful and so is the Honua Kai!!

My girlfriends and I headed to Maui to celebrate my 40th birthday. This was my first time renting through VRBO and it was a great experience. Bruno, the owner, was easy to communicate with and very helpful. The staff on the island were also great to work with! The condo location (on the top floor) is amazing. The view from the lanai was without a doubt my favorite part. The condo is nicely stocked with thoughtful amenities that make your stay even more enjoyable. My girlfriends and I had a great week on Maui and the condo was a big part of it. I will definitely be recommending it to my friends.

4 of us stayed here for the week. The condo was lovely with a fantastic view of the ocean and pools areas. We have never stayed in a condo so completely stocked. The owners thought of everything! There was everything in the kitchen, and all the ancillary supplies you could want. There were beach chairs and beach towels and even a cooler. As good as the condo was, however, I have to say it was the 2 owners that made the best impressions. Every communication we had with Bruno prior to the trip was so positive. Roger was on site during our visit and we had occasion to meet him, He was so friendly and accommodating. I have been renting vrbo properties for years, and I have never had such a positive experience as I have this trip. I can't say enough about our experience here. It was so relaxing and stress free.

Excellent location. Within easy driving distance to everything you would want to do and see on this island. Very helpful and personable owner; provided lots of excellent information before arrival. All rooms and lanai quite spacious. Five of us stayed here very comfortably. Bathrooms each have 2 sinks, tub, separate shower. Kitchen exceptionally well-equipped. Provided: 2 boogie boards, 4 beach towels, 4 beach chairs, cooler. Many good restaurants nearby. Our favorite local town, Lahaina, a very short drive. Terrific beach for miles. Great beachfront promenade for joggers, walkers, strollers. Pictures accurate. Would definitely recommend this condo.

Mahalo to the Tonin family! Our time in their condo at Honua Kai was even better than expected and delivered in every way that was described. The location to the elevators, parking, pool and Dukes was perfect. We were moving over from a ground floor, ocean front condo (because we wanted the pools for the kids) and I was a little unsure of being on the 6th floor. Turns out I had nothing to worry about as everything was easy to access and the view was amazing. The condo was very well appointed. The guide book that they provide is spot on and we referenced it several times. My only regret is that I didn't sign the guest book!! Thank you for all your help in making our time in Maui so memorable for all the right reasons!

We are 2 couples in our 50s and 60s and could not have been happier with this property! The owner told us (more than once!) that the pictures did not do it justice and he was RIGHT! The furnishings, appliances and ambience are 1st rate! We enjoyed our morning coffee on the Lanai each day and were treated to whales breaching about 100 yards right off the beach more than once. It is a comfortable walk to Whalers village and we enjoyed that each morning, followed by a few lovely afternoons on the beach, followed by "happy hour" on the Lanai, followed by one of the owner's dining suggestions. We did some zip lining in Kapalua (sooooooo fun), a snorkle excursion and more snorkeling right off the beach in front of the condo. It is quite evident that the owner is very proud of his property and rightfully so! I would also like to note that when I booked we hit a small glitch trying to make payment on the web site and the owner went above and beyond to help us get this straightened out instead of just putting us at the mercy of a help desk. I have booked condos through VRBO on several occasions and was quite satisfied, but with the Tonin family, I felt like we were truly welcomed guests. I will most definitely tell anyone who will listen how wonderful unit 605 Hokulani is. With any good fortune We will be back with the kIds and grandkids soon! FIVE STARS!

The property at Honua Kai was fantastic! It is a very well appointed condo and the view is amazing. We spent many hours on the lanai, and had the nana wall opened most of the time to feel the great Maui breeze. We were able to spot many whales during our visit. The beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are very nice. We loved using the kitchen facilities and had many great meals on the lanai. We also used the grilling facilities at the Honua Kai, which are awesome. The property has everything that you need - pools, hot tubs, Dukes Restaurant (fabulous food) a nice beach, snorkeling, fitness facilities and it's close to the Kaanapali Beach walk, which we walked almost every day. A great place to stay!

Absolutely Beautiful!
We took a chance with this new listing on VRBO which had no reviews at the beginning of August 2013. The pictures on the listing were spectacular and the price was right for a family of 3 adults and 2 children looking for a stress free get away for winter break.
This is an ABSOLUTELY AMAZING condo, on the top of the stack on the 6th floor and extremely convenient with an elevator right around the corner (less than 30 meters). It was spacious and airy with a spectacular lanai and view. The picture on VRBO doesn’t do it justice! What is even more amazing is how well equipped the condo was. The kitchen had everything you need for a place setting for 10 people, blender, coffee grinder, multitudes of pans, pots, serving bowls, a spice rack…almost like home. Even my MiL was impressed and continually praised the property and the lanai..Her praise is hard won :)
The lanai was extremely beautiful. We made full use of it morning, afternoon and night. We made our own dinners and invited our friends who were also staying in the same complex over for dinner. We didn’t run out of dishes or wine glasses (lovely Reidel ones).
In addition, although we didn’t make use of it ourselves because our children are older, the condo was equipped with a pack n’ play and bedding for small children. Another plus! There were beach chairs, 2 boogie boards, an adult snorkel set, cooler and ice packs, first aid kit…the list goes on.
The owners and their condo manager were extremely helpful and kept up correspondence with us over the months leading to our vacation. The owners provided excellent guides and tips in their folder and in their email. All in all, it was an extremely pleasant experience and we have already recommended this property to our friends and will continue to do so.
