My family and I enjoyed the property so much! I booked as a family of 6 but notified Jill that my daughter from Oahu will by joining on our 4th day so a total of 7 and Jill was very accommodating to it. Monty was very welcoming and came through with a new iron as the one already there would not work. I would definitely book with Jill again and recommend this property to others.

Our family of 4 (daughters age 10 and 13) had a wonderful stay in this spacious condo. The condo had everything we needed, was very comfortable and the location was excellent with easy access to beaches, restaurants, and grocery store. The property is beautiful and we loved the pools and the boardwalk. Jill and Monty were easy to communicate with if needed. We had a wonderful vacation, thank you Jill!

This condo is so spacious! I didn't really need 2 bedrooms for this stay as it was for my honeymoon, but Will was so accommodating and generous, we decided to booked our stay here! The 2nd bedroom actually gave us room to spread out and keep our luggage, so it was nice to have the extra room. The resort is so clean and awesome. It has a well-equipped gym and very nice pools if you have kids. The condo was clean and came equipped with all dishes, pots, and pans which is a huge bonus for us as we cook a lot! It had boogie boards that were super fun to use and a nice cooler to take your breakfast/lunch with you on the go! The washer and dryer was also a very nice addition, since we were there for 7 days. The condo is very quiet, despite being in a larger resort. We were surprised we never heard people through the walls.
The condo is very close to Kaanapali beach, and we rode bikes all along the pathway up to Front street. It's a prime location to stay as you're close to Napili and to Lahaina. Will was super responsive and let us know of any changes, etc. The property manager, Monty was awesome too! We had a great experience and would recommend this condo to our friends and family!

Honua Kai gives you the best mix of location, price and amenities on the island. Has all the perks of incredible pools and other things you would get at a fancy hotel, but you get a kitchen and more space than at a hotel. Communication was great and the place was as advertised. Bed was one of the better ones I have slept on at a vrbo. As long as you know the price reflects what you get you'll be happy. We have stayed a few other times at honua kai in much nicer condos with incredible ocean views, but you definitely pay a lot more for one of those. Only real down sides of this place is only one bathroom and basically no ocean view. Would return if we come back with another couple that is more budget conscious.

It was a very nice condo, and wonderful pool area! My only complaint was that the AC did not seem to get below 74 degrees. Maintenance checked it and said it was working, but still did not cool as much as we would have liked for sleeping! Overall great condo, appreciate the baby items they had!

We survived the spraying bombing and more spraying. The nearest elevator wasOut of order so I cancelled my morning walk. And I would have loved a pot holder ( so I bought some and left them) and a cookie sheet for nachos and nuggets would have been nice BUT. The unit was Great, beds comfy loved the view the resort is lovely. Dukes hula pie was the best And we had a wonderful time. Hope to come again!

We were fortunate to be able to stay at Honua Kai recently and really enjoyed everything. There is a lot of room to spread out, kitchen is well stocked with all you need to cook in, washer and dryer, beds were comfortable and a fabulous tub!! It really is a fantastic property.
Jill and Monty were great. The only thing that was a bummer was the construction going on. While there is nothing that could be done and was far out of the owners control, it would have been nice to have been aware of the construction as it may have changed our decision on where to stay. It didn’t bother me so much but it did bother my husband.

Just wanted to say Thanks to Will & Monty for allowing us to stay at their condo, it was perfect for our vacation to Maui. The condo was very nicely decorated and well stocked with everything you could need. The closet was full of beach stuff that came in very handy, as well as the wheeled buggy to transport everything to the pool or beach. The den was surprisingly very spacious with plenty of storage and allowed the kids & parents some privacy from each other, overall the whole condo was very spacious. The lanai offered wonderful views over the mountains as well a little bit of the ocean, and was perfect for eating out on. Communication was great, Monty, the property manager, met us in the foyer on arrival with keycards etc and answered our questions.
Duke's the onsite restaurant was excellent, kids loved the Hula Pie !!, the condo is also just a short walk from Whaler's village where there's lots of nice shops & restaurants.
The elevator is close to the condo, and the gym is one floor down, all very convenient.
Overall, I would have no hesitation recommending Will, Monty or the condo to friends, relatives, etc, we had a wonderful vacation and this condo would definitely be my first choice for returning, hopefully soon !!.

We loved Konea #206!
Manager Monty kept in touch upon our arrival in Maui and was there to greet us in the lobby when we arrived at Honua Kai. When we first entered the unit we knew it was going to be perfect - it was clean and so comfortable.
Pros:
The kitchen had all the dishes we needed.
The beds were very comfortable.
Den is really a full bedroom with queen bed.
Lots of towels - bath and beach.
Beach chairs and umbrella are perfect.
In-suite laundry.
Great lanai, quiet with a mountain view and even a bit of an ocean view.
Great shower.
A/C works great.
Easy access to pools, beach, underground parking.
Gym very close to unit on 1st floor.
Best price in all of Honua Kai!
Cons:
None!
Tips:
If you use any amount of ice, buy some across the road at the market.
Take the umbrella with you if you go on a beach excursion. It's sturdy and you'll appreciate the shade.
Stop at Costco by airport.
Be careful when opening/closing patio doors, easy to pinch a finger.
Park in the back left corner of underground and take stairs up to 2nd floor. Easy access.

We've been to Maui multiple times and stayed at various locations, and our stay at Honua Kai was one of the best ever. We would absolutely stay there again and have already recommended it to some friends and relatives. Will was great with communication and we had all the info we needed as far as check-in, etc., and the condo had everything we needed. Most of the other reviews reflect this same info, and for good reason - this place was fantastic.
Here are a few thoughts to keep in mind in case you're trying to decide where to stay:
1) This is basically a 2 BR/1 BA condo. The "den" is a bedroom with a door and everything - but it lacks a closet and window, and it shares a bath with the master. Since it's listed as a 1 BR with a den, you might be concerned about space. Don't be. It's plenty big for a family of 4 (kids aged 9 and 4), and we didn't even use the sofa bed.
2) The views are great. It's not facing the ocean (though you can technically see a portion of it off the edge of the deck), and it faces the mountains. If you're okay without an ocean view, you're probably not going to do better than this in the Kaanapaali area.
3) The condo is situated on the outside of the building, facing the other building on property. There's a large grassy area between the two buildings that opens up and affords the view mentioned above. Because of this alignment, the condo is really, really quiet. You're not on top of the pool, you're not facing any construction or a road or a parking lot. There's nobody gathering in the space between buildings.
4) There are LOTS of kids at this property. It's mostly families. The pool areas are designed for this. There's a waterslide and multiple kid pools.
5) The on-property restaurant, Duke's, is pretty good. Given it's location, it could have been sub-par, but we enjoyed several meals there. The gourmet market is good as well, but expensive. The good news if you're trying to save money is that you're literally across the street from a grocery store, and the condo has a full kitchen.
6) I can't speak for the rest of the property, but this condo does not have daily maid service. We knew about this going in, and it's priced accordingly. This was a non-factor for us.
We are definitely going to keep this property at the top of our list the next time we travel to Maui.

We spent a little over a week in Maui and had an excellent time. Jill and Monty were both great to work with and our checkin process was seamless. I was a little reluctant about the bracelets but we ended up loving them since they gave us access to our room and the towel kiosks. No looking for your room key and everyone had access all the time. The condo was fully stocked and clean. The extra den was perfect for our family, which allowed for our kids to each have their own beds (14 and 12). We enjoyed the use of the beach chairs and body boards. Overall we had a great experience.
The property grounds are nice and it was nice having Dukes on site; however, the property was overwhelmed with guests during our stay making it very difficult to find a spot at the pool or get in for dinner at Dukes. Book reservations prior to arrival or expect a 2 hr wait for dinner. There was a great pizza place right behind the resort that we went to when we wanted something quick.
Overall we had a great time at a beautiful property!

Jill Is great to work with. The unit is very nice The property itself is beautiful. We were there during Covid so my only complaint is the pool chairs were gone most days but Jill provided beach chairs so we just brought those down most days. Parking can also be hard to find in the garages at night. The beach has rock and coral making it hard to swim but still doable. Swimmable beaches nearby as well. The pool is very kid friendly but also has an adult area/feel as well. So many pools and hot tubs. We will definitely stay here again.

This was our first time visiting Maui and this place was perfect for our family of four. The property managers were very responsive, the resort was perfect for when we wanted to hang around the condo (the pools are great and part of why we booked at this location, my son loved the water slide,) and getting to places on the island from here was easy. I would stay here again anytime and recommend it to others. It was so nice to prepare our own meals and save some money to use elsewhere.
The only thing I found slightly bothersome (and I mean slightly) is that there are only 4 plates. We had to wash them after every meal, so we had them for the next one as opposed to getting to use the dishwasher and if we were a family of more than 4 we’d be out of luck (listing says it sleeps 6, so…)
The beach near the property had turtles we went to watch every evening, there’s a boardwalk that was great for my morning runs and when I didn’t do that I was able to use the fitness room, and parking was really easy. The unit itself has comfortable beds, couches and chairs, and a great lanai. Even though there are people in units above, below and on either side, we didn’t hear them more than if we were in a detached home.

We go to Maui every year. We would absolutely stay at this property again. Spacious, clean, updated and perfect location. We had a 10yr autistic, 2yr old and a 3mo old and the room was perfect. Super happy there were multiple TVs so everyone can have their own space.

The location of the condo was perfect! Great views of the mountains and sunrise in the morning from the patio. The condo was very clean and comfortable for our family of 5. We used the pull out sleeper for 2 of the kids and it was perfect. We had a couple of questions which were answered immediately by the host. The condo is stocked with beach chairs, umbrellas, beach toys, and coolers to make your beach experience perfect. Check in and check out went extremely smooth. Check out the short walk to the food trucks for dinner, lemonade, or ice cream dessert. This was a nightly activity for the kids! This rental checks off all of the things from the location, to the amenities of the resort, to the fantastic snorkeling just down the beach. You won’t be disappointed with this rental!

We have been staying at this property ever year for years now but when Hawaii Life Vacations took over everything turned into a nightmare. From the start we had issues in the room and the contat we were assigned to disappeared. The curtains in the room were broken (and disgustingly dirty) and dryer door was broken and wouldnt stay shut, and the new furniture was so top heavy that when you opened a drawer the whole thing would fall. my 7 year old was injured from a huge dresser falling on him and when I reported it, I heard NOTHING back. Now they are holding our deposit with no explanation and its been almost 2 weeks since checkout. We left that place in great condition. We were hoping to come back next year but sadly wont if this property manager is still overseeing this unit.

This unit was advertised as being remodeled with a wonderful view. The fact of the matter is it was not remodeled, the fold-out couch was broken and had to be replaced the way we were here. The view is horrible. The communication both at check-in and trying to deal with the problem was horrible. I rented three other units for the same week, and there was no problem. I would never use this unit or recommend anybody to do so. I tried to work with the property manager to get the matter resolved as to a credit, and what they offered was laughable. Totally disrespectable.

Everything was incredible except for the check in process. The host asked for my arrival time which was 11 am and didn’t say anything after that so I was under assumption we could check in shortly after our arrival and that was not the case. We could not check in until 3 pm so we asked if we could use the pools while waiting and the concierge said no. Didn’t seem like they even checked guests using the pools so felt it was rude to tell us no. Anyways a firm check in of 3 pm could have been addressed way before day of arrival. Other than that great stay. Nice pool, beach, and unit is very roomy and clean.

The condo is clean, updated and all my kids, ages 18, 16 and 11 had only great things to say!! Can’t wait to visit again!

Our family loved staying here! We have 4 year old twins and it was the perfect spot for a beach vacation. The resort itself is beautiful and lush, and there are so many pools to choose from. Being right on the beach with Duke’s on the property were huge pluses as well. The coffee at the market was delicious too!
The condo itself was clean and had everything needed for a fun family stay. A lovely peekaboo ocean view was the cherry on top. We’ll definitely be back!

We had a wonderful time staying here; family of 3 including one toddler. The location was fabulous, we never heard our neighbors and definitely had some (we saw them on their lanai). Very well stocked with kitchen gadgets for cooking or eating in room. The property overall was beautiful, the pools and beach were spectacular. Dukes was delish, the whalers store downstairs was so nice to have for random things we forgot! We visited the food trucks just a 2 min drive away and could not have been happier with our find!

We really enjoyed our stay at this unit and the property manager was very responsive, provided great food recommendations and other tips to make the stay great. The overall property (Honua Kai) was fantastic as well. Very central location in west Maui, 10 min drive to either Lahaina or Kapalua, and nice beach options within a few minutes walk of the unit. Couple food options on property (or right next door) plus the evening food trucks just north of the property (walking distance) provided a lot of different food options for us which was great. There were also two "general store" type places on the property with one of them having maybe the best iced coffee i've ever had! Aina Gourmet Market was the store and coffee beans were from O'o Farms. Thanks for a great stay!!

We have stayed at a few Hawaiian resorts and this one was considerably cheaper in price. We thought the amenities would be lacking in comparison but we were so happy to discover they were not. Incredible value for the money. Comfortable, fully stocked. Easy, fast communication with Monty.

The unit was clean, spacious and modern. It had everything we needed down to beach chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, cooler and beach toys. The availability of beach towels via the kiosks was fantastic. Location was central to everything we wanted to do. Swimming, snorkeling and body surfing off the property was really good. The pools were great and finding chairs wasn’t too much of a problem. Food at Dukes was great. Food trucks next door were great when we wanted to just grab food and eat in.

We had a lovely week at HK. The condo has all of the right amenities with a nice Mountain View. The owner sent us some great recommendations for local Luaus. Like other units on the property, the kitchen is small with not a lot of space for food storage but we worked it out. All in a memorable trip to Maui and we can’t wait to get back.
