Loved staying here, rested well, comfy bed and beautiful gardens. Near the beach and grass area where we could whale watch and saw my first breaching whale peforming. Good facilities and support from the Castle resort. Concierge Gayle O'Donnell Expedia really knowledgeable and helpful for planning trips. A super stay of 13 days. Could have stayed longer.

We had an awesome 9 days at the Kiahuna Plantation!! This unit is very comfortable and clean! You can not beat the location! So nice to have the towel exchange and chairs for the beach. Patricia was easy to work with and was very accommodating to us as we had to postpone trip due to Hurricane! We will definitely we back!!

Kiahuna Plantation 143 was a great place to stay. The furniture and mattress were new and in good shape. The view was nice, and the second floor breezes were wonderful! This condo was clean and bright, with a high ceiling in the main room. We enjoyed hanging out on the lanai, and the very short walk across the manicured lawn to the beach. We'd be happy to stay here again!

We had a great stay at Kiahuna Plantation. They had a great location right on a perfect stretch of beach and great restaurants near by. The unit was comfortable with a large lanai to enjoy the evening. The only problem was the lack of A/C. It got very warm in the second floor unit, until after the sun went down. Couldn’t beat the grounds and beach access though! Would stay here again.

We have stayed multiple times at the Kiahuna Plantation and it never disappoints, great condos on the best overall beach on Kauai. Poipu has some of the best weather on the Island, with shopping, restaurants, and beaches so close by, and the Kiahuna Plantation puts you in the center of it all.

This property is a great location -- three minute walk to the beach and I bet it is amazing unit to stay in the winter. However, with only fans to cool the unit, way too hot and humid for the summer.
Has nice amenities to go bogie boarding and/or snorkeling -- nice touch. I would highly recommend to stay in the winter and double check the weather for the summer stays.

The grounds, etc are beautiful, great location. Condo small, but perfect for two. No air conditioning ceiling fans and extra fans to use it works. Kitchen very small no room to put anything. Would be nice if they had basics, foil, etc. Big TV. Furniture looks new, great size balcony close to beach. Nice gas barbecues and lots of them that were cleaned daily. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The beach is beautiful lots of waves. This is a great place for families. Be sure and stop at Safeway and Costco for anything you need. Poipu Shopping Village across street has some nice things and a Starbucks. Also the famous Hawaiian hotdog that you will stand in line to buy.
You will not be disappointed in Unit 143 we would not hesitate to rent it again.

We’ve stayed at Kiahuna many times but never in an upstairs unit. This one was perfect, with a private landing/entrance and an updated, open floor plan. Lovely view of the lawn before the twin bridges. We never heard our neighbors although it seemed the building was full (spring break). The unit was well stocked, my kids especially appreciated the boogie boards. Thank you for a lovely stay!

This was our third trip to Kauai, and by far our favorite place to stay. The condo was clean, well equipped and nicely decorated. Its best feature is its ideal location right on the beach at Poipu, with a kiosk available for towels and beach chairs. The property boasted beautifully landscaped grounds and was for the most part, rather quiet. Only drawback was our short stay. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Having stayed in Kauai before, our preferred base is Poipu, and our preferred location within Poipu is Kiahuna Plantation. Poipu not only has better weather than the north shore, but is about half way between the north shore and Waimea Canyon, both of which are highlights of any stay on the island. As for Kiahuna Plantation Resort, it has its own beach with beach chairs and towels provided, reception open 24/7 if assistance is ever needed, beautiful tropical landscaping, easy parking near all of the units, and a central location with quite a bit within walking distance. Also, the ability to use the Poipu Beach Athletic Club across the street is a great perk as it has a gym, tennis courts, pool, and restaurant.
As for unit 143, we enjoyed our stay in this unit very much. The unit has recently been remodeled. The sleeper sofa was very comfortable for our kids, and the furniture throughout was in great condition. The kitchen was functional and enabled us to cook most of our meals in the apartment. Also, there are shared grills in close proximity to the unit. Although the unit does not have an ocean view, it is still a quick walk to the beach. Also, the unit is in one of the smaller buildings in the complex (only 4 units) and thus we found it to be quiet with more privacy than many other units. We stayed in August and with the plantation shutters open we were comfortable without the need for air conditioning. Although the unit doesn't have a washer/dryer, the complex has a coin-operated washer/dryer facility that is easily accessible. There was ample beach gear in the apartment, and we left behind two additional boogey boards that hopefully other visitors will enjoy.

Kiahuna is an amazing place to stay - lots of space for kids to run and just a wonderful, relaxed atmosphere. The beach is a bit rough for young kids but the pool across the street is perfect with a sand bottom kids' area and water slide. Can't wait to return!

This was our third vacation at Kiahuna and our second stay at this particular condo -- we love this place every time. Kiahuna is a quiet, green, lovely gem where walking to a beautiful, swimmable (in both winter and summer) beach is easy and pleasant. While in the condo, we enjoy the birds singing, the greenery and flowers, and the general mellow vibe of Kiahuna. This condo is quiet, bright and clean, and the new furniture and bed make it just perfect for us. The lanai is lovely to sit on with afternoon sun, and even when we were inside preparing meals, we had the lanai doors open so the breeze through the screens, and the view of the expansive lawn and skies, made me feel like I was still outside. The Hawaiian CDs are a great touch to make the vacation complete. The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is because I wish the condo had a view of the ocean, but other than that it is perfect....and the view is pretty with lawn and trees. Thanks for sharing your lovely home with us! We'll be back as often as we can!

Overall, we enjoyed the location of this unit very much. It was located on the second floor so there was a nice breeze and the balcony was great The unit needs some updating though. Also, the television in the bedroom would only work sometimes and we could only get audio with no picture. The location of the light switches were also not in obvious places. Our key card did not work one afternoon and it took property management over an hour to get us back into the unit so we were stuck sitting in front of our door since it was pouring out and really had no where else to go.

We spent a week at this simple, clean condo. My husband and I shared the king bed in the bedroom and our son slept on the fold out sofa in the living room. It worked well for us. The location within the Kiahuna Plantation was great both for a quick walk to the beach and a quick walk to the pool. We were initially concerned that the pool would be too far away, but that proved not to be a problem at all. Reviews of other condos mentioned street noise, but #143 is tucked in enough that we heard nothing. (Except one incident of loud, late, game-playing neighbors which was quickly dealt with after a call to the Castle Resorts management office.)
Unit 143 is not fancy or luxurious, but it has everything we needed, was clean and mostly well taken care of. There were also some extras like boogie boards, umbrellas and even a cooler. It's an excellent home base for all of the explorations you'll want to do on the island and has easy access to shops and restaurants. The owner was very easy to deal with as we made our arrangements. We would definitely stay there again.

I've been to Kauai many, many times, but hands down my favorite place to stay is at Kiahuna Plantation at Poipu Beach. Fabulous location, beautiful grounds and gorgeous beaches almost right outside your door made this condo the perfect locale from which to enjoy all that Poipu offers. This large, one bedroom condo on the second floor overlooks the immaculately kept grounds that make the plantation the magnificent property that it is. It was spacious, very comfortable, quiet, open, full of light and offered all amenities you could ask for, even binoculars! (and I did see some whales...) Nice large balcony, too. You can even use the Poipu Athletic Club across the street as part of your vacation package! Walking distance to most everything in Poipu...restaurants, bars, shopping, Spouting Horn, but be forewarned that you may never want to leave the beach! I loved this place and hope to make plans to rent again next year. There's a reason that it's always booked! I was lucky to get in at short notice for 3 days...but I needed more! Next year...

The owners were available and accommodating when we asked something. The apartment was just right for the two of us; cozy and comfy. Very thankful for the ceiling and portable fans. Housekeeping came the middle of our stay. When we arrived only 2 of the bathroom linens were left. Housekeeping left 4 of everything - nice. The area is stunning and just a short walk to the beach where you can secure a chair or a towel with your beach card. Several dining places available within walking distance. Location great. Host was very good in suggesting things to do for New Year's eve. Although dish washer was broken, the office suggested that staff would come and wash them for us. 143 exceeded all expectations, it was clean, comfortable, and the wonderful hosts supplied everything and more than we needed. Check in was easy, the location was ideal on the plantation (barely a minute walk to our favorite beach on Kauai) and we even took advantage of the gas grills on property for cooking dinner. We have stayed many places on Kauai and this is by far our favorite. It would be great for a small family or couple.
For anyone debating on a reservation: if you're lucky enough to get availability don't bother looking elsewhere. We already miss the sound of the ocean, morning breeze, and fragrance of the flowers. Thanks for everything!

This was our second time to stay at Kiahuna Plantation as we loved the atmosphere including the easy access to the beautiful beach and the location in Poipu. Unit#143 is on 2nd floor with very nice view to the greenery yards. It is also a quick walk to the beach, and we enjoyed the sunset at the beach throughout our stay. The stairs to 2nd floor is just for unit#143 which was very good. Unit was very clean, included all equipment we needed. Dishwasher was not working during our stay but the condominium staff came to wash the dishes everyday so no issue.

Lovely upstairs unit with a nice view of the lawn area. Unit had a full kitchen and dining area with all the amenities of home - microwave, coffee maker, et al. Comfy bed and nice TVs in both livingroom and bedroom. The Kiahuna Plantation offers free parking and provides towels and chairs for beach goers. Pool and athletic center are a short walk across the street. Also across the street is a little shopping center with some great restaurants and a Starbucks. I would definitely recommend this property and unit.

Kiahuna plantation is a superior place to stay. We've admired the location and grounds on previous trips and finally opted to stay here. We'd highly recommend it - the location is perfect with a good beach and short walk to snorkeling at Poipu. The grounds are beautifully maintained and the short walk across the street to shops, restaurants and the athletic club can't be beat. (Quick note on the athletic club . . . Small pool and spa, great weight room and tennis courts, good cardio room. But, no yoga or other classes except water aerobics. Apparently they had these in the past and may again. I mention this because my wife was looking forward to yoga classes . . . .luckily she found one at the Sheraton next door.)
This unit is upstairs and the only one with a second floor entry - the units on either side are two story. The building is a way from the road, so very quiet . . .for the most part. Since there is no a/c anywhere, everyone keeps there door and windows open all the time. You can hear the neighbors when the doors are open, but everyone during our stay kept the noise down (except one night). Also, since sound carries quite a bit, we could hear people partying until 2 a.m. a few nights from neighboring buildings. We mentioned it to security finally, and they managed it.
This unit itself is clean but in need of serious updating. The furniturein the family room is shot, the shower door is missing a handle, the dishwasher sticks, the CD player doesn't work, the DVD player sticks, etc. There are no instructions on . . . anything so be resourceful.
The owners acknowledged these things . . . after we arrived . . . and indicated
that changes were coming. We would definitely stay here again if that takes place.
Overall, we mostly loved it . . . it would be a 5 star review if the unit wasn't so tired.

This is our third visit to Kiahuna Plantation - we love it there! The unit is very nicely furnished and well-kept, with all the necessities (except salt and pepper and condiments). This is a garden view unit, and this one has very good views out over the lawn area and bridges, rather than looking at another building. Fun to watch all the birds! We had only two small items less than perfect. The bathroom (shower/tub/toilet room) is pretty old and could use updating. And the balcony (second floor) is more angled to the morning sun than the other units we have stayed in, so the bright sun bathes the balcony pretty early in the day. So we spent more time inside than on the balcony, but still "borrowed" the outdoors via the sliding doors. All in all, a wonderful unit, and Patricia was great in communicating prior to our visit. One other thing - watch out for the afternoon check-in lady, she doesn't take any flack off anybody!

I write reviews with details I'd want to know when renting. The whole property is beautiful, with meticulous landscaping and good upkeep on all buildings. We learned all units are not equal - this one was nice. Not super updated but lovely. Kitchen well supplied, although the stove was a bit fussy. Very clean on arrival. Easy checkin. You don't see the beach from the lanai but it's very sunny facing south and looks over quiet lawn. Be aware the outdoor seating is almost always in sun because of orientation. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom fine. Enough space for two to move around. Only issue was it being a bit hot at night - no A/C and while the breeze outside is fine, it doesn't move through the unit that well. Glad for large floor fan for evenings after the unit had warmed all day. A bit of noise from neighbors but resort seems generally not a "party zone" so quiet at night. Easy walk to lovely beach. Never used the pool - seems too far away and remote from resort. Quick access to nearby shops in two locations. Good snorkeling and turtles at Poipu beach just down the road. Didn't expect extra towels midstay but nice touch. No noise from Poipu Road because interior enough on property (would worry about units right on the road since bedrooms are oriented on side of units toward road.) Would rent this one again.

The Kiahuna Plantation places one in an ideal location is they want beaches and food within a walking distance. We had a car...but we didn't want to have to drive every time we went out and this was great. Enjoyed beach are out front and easy walk to Poipu Park Beach...where there is better snorkeling. We really enjoyed the Athletic Club just across the road....and even ate at the restaurant there a couple evenings. This unit is well maintained upper floor. Would recommend. Only suggestion would be to replace TV with Smart TV that allows use of Netflix and other apps as we enjoyed evening movies but could only access standard cable movies.

We really enjoyed Kiahuna 143 and from the beginning the host was very easy to communicate with. The condo was very clean, everything worked, the bed was comfortable, and we had everything we needed for cooking inside & out. Thanks!!

The condo was wonderfully equipped with boogie boards, snorkel gear and beach umbrellas. The unit was nicely appointed and comfortable.

I write reviews with details I'd want to know when renting. The whole property is beautiful, with meticulous landscaping and good upkeep on all buildings. We learned all units are not equal - this one was nice. Not super updated but lovely. Kitchen well supplied, although the stove was a bit fussy. Very clean on arrival. Easy checkin. You don't see the beach from the lanai but it's very sunny facing south and looks over quiet lawn. Be aware the outdoor seating is almost always in sun because of orientation. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom fine. Enough space for two to move around. Only issue was it being a bit hot at night - no A/C and while the breeze outside is fine, it doesn't move through the unit that well. Glad for large floor fan for evenings after the unit had warmed all day. A bit of noise from neighbors but resort seems generally not a "party zone" so quiet at night. Easy walk to lovely beach. Never used the pool - seems too far away and remote from resort. Quick access to nearby shops in two locations. Good snorkeling and turtles at Poipu beach just down the road. Didn't expect extra towels midstay but nice touch. No noise from Poipu Road because interior enough on property (would worry about units right on the road since bedrooms are oriented on side of units toward road.) Would rent this one again.

All was good. However, there seemed to be a rodent problem on the entrance balcony. Quite a bit of rat feces on steps and near storage door.

This is our third visit to Kiahuna Plantation - we love it there! The unit is very nicely furnished and well-kept, with all the necessities (except salt and pepper and condiments). This is a garden view unit, and this one has very good views out over the lawn area and bridges, rather than looking at another building. Fun to watch all the birds! We had only two small items less than perfect. The bathroom (shower/tub/toilet room) is pretty old and could use updating. And the balcony (second floor) is more angled to the morning sun than the other units we have stayed in, so the bright sun bathes the balcony pretty early in the day. So we spent more time inside than on the balcony, but still "borrowed" the outdoors via the sliding doors. All in all, a wonderful unit, and Patricia was great in communicating prior to our visit. One other thing - watch out for the afternoon check-in lady, she doesn't take any flack off anybody!

A beautiful condo that is a 3 minute walk to a beautiful beach. The condo had all the things you would need to have a great time! Would definitely stay here again!
