I couldn’t have had a more enjoyable stay in Poipu. The Kiahuna Plantation exceeded my expectations, and I was happy to splash out and book an ocean view property. This unit is right on the ground floor, with an ocean view and a ridiculously short walk to the beach. There’s a wide open grassy area for games and several bbq areas within seconds of walking. The unit was also a delight with its more updated touches. There was a little snafu during my stay, but Erick, the owner, really stepped it up with finding a resolution, to which I’m grateful for.
There Poipu Athletic Club is also just a short walk away. It’s actually a fantastic gym with more than decent weightlifting equipment, cardio equipment, a functional fitness/TRX area, yoga studio, volleyball court, tennis court, and more. It’s nice to have access to a more capable gym than what you’d normally find in a hotel. No need to take a lapse in your workout routine just because you’re on vacation.
This is my first time in Kauai, and I came with a very large group who all booked units in the Kiahuna Plantation. The unit’s prime location became our gathering spot to have wine happy hours while the kids did cartwheels on the grass and played catch and we all enjoyed the sunset. The resort’s staff are exceptionally friendly, and I have nothing but love for Kauai. What a terrific place to spend the holidays.

All-in-all I would recommend to friends with a caveat that they will be cooled purely by the slight ocean breeze that makes it to the room. The condo is cooled by opening vents on the exterior of the structure.
Pros: Excellent location. Beautiful property. Poipu Athletic Club is awesome.
Cons: The room lists AC but the portable AC unit which is in the bedroom doesn’t go below 76 and doesn’t run for longer than 20 minutes until it turns off and requires a manual restart. This is not whole-condo AC and does little more than add circulation to the bedroom. The air coming out of the AC felt no different than the ambient temperature.
The room comes with 4 washcloths regardless of stay length. We stayed for 6 nights and had 4 washcloths. Extra washcloths cost $15. Seems like a cloth per person per night would be reasonable.

We spent 5 nights in Kauai with this condo as our home base. It truly is a wonderful island, and the Poipu Beach/Kiahuna Beach area was well situated for most of the things we wanted to experience while there. The beaches themselves were swimmable, although Poipu was a bit calmer (people were surfing off of Kiahuna).
The condo is on the first floor, which is important if you have much luggage. The lanai faces a large grassy field that is well maintained. The beach is at the end and a short, easy walk.
We didn't use the pool facilities or the in-condo beach equipment, but others might find those right for them. Neighboring Ko'a Kea Resort, which can be accessed by walkway, has a good sushi restaurant, beachside bar, and Poipu Beach access.

Really enjoyed staying at Kiahuna #159. Anyone that has been to the property knows how special the complex is and this unit being ground floor just a short few steps to the beach is just amazing! Worked great for our stay with a 2 year old.

We really enjoyed our stay at this property! The interior is a bit more cramped and dated than we expected, but it was easy to get over because you can see the ocean from the room and are literally steps away from the beach. It's truly gorgeous! There are lounge chairs on the lawn, and the property provides other chairs to take down to the beach. There's A/C in the bedroom only, but even on hot and humid days the breeze was great and it never felt stuffy!
This is a great spot to stay if you plan to spend time on the south or west side of the island. Most days, we travelled about 30 min-1.5 hours to the west for different hikes, and it would have been a LOT further from the north side of the island! Our favorite spots: Little Fish Coffee (walking distance/directly across from the property), JoJo's Shave Ice, Island Taco, ZenSai, Koeki's Paradise (walking distance), Eating House 1849, Warehouse 3540 (coffee/little shops), Lawai Market (lots of gluten free/organic goods plus great coffee!), Da Crack Mexican.
Our favorite hikes was the Awa’awapuhi Trail. We loved our adventurous raft tour of the Na Pali Coast with Go Blue!!
This was one of our favorite vacations ever, and we would DEFINITELY return!

We really enjoyed our stay at this condo at Kiahuna Plantation. I was a little nervous booking, as it was a new listing and had no reviews. I have no regrets! It is a wonderful ground floor unit with a view of the ocean. From the edge of the Lanai, it is only 150 steps to the beach! It has been beautifully updated compared to many other units in this resort. It had all the amenities we could use, stocked kitchen, some spices, beach mats, a beach umbrella (a must have), chairs, a cooler and boogies boards. We grilled local fish most nights and ate on the Lanai. We never felt the need for the A/C as a cool breeze would drift through the unit.
We could hear the waves as we drifted off to sleep. This condo helped make our stay in Kauai very relaxing!

Our vacation experience at the Kiahuna Plantation was exceptional. Unit 159 offered us everything we ere looking for. The communication with the hosts, Sandy and Erick, was great. The unit had all the kitchen basics for our meals, the bed was was comfortable and to our liking, and all in all a very comfortable, relaxing environment. Fantastic location just on the back of the Great Lawn with wonderful views of the palms swaying in the breeze. Mahalo - we will return.

We had such a lovely visit! It has great beach access and is in a great location. We enjoyed being able to go over to work out and play tennis at the athletic club across the street. We can't wait to come back!

We had such a great stay in Poipu thanks to this particular property! What a treat it was to be so close to the water, to have a beautiful open view from the patio right to the ocean, and to feel like we were lounging in our own backyard when down by the beach. The condo was clean and had all the amenities we needed for a great visit. I would DEFINITELY come back and rent this property again!
