We loved our stay. The communication leading up to the stay and during was fantastic. With the tragic fires that had happened earlier in the year, we were uncertain of how things would be, but the property owner provided a lot of info to help. The location, supreme. Just walk out the lanai and down to the pool or to Duke's. It was so convenient. It was also quiet and comfortable inside. We would definitely stay here again if we come back to Maui.

Dan was super communicative before our arrival especially as we had lots of questions about how Maui was doing after the fires and whether everything at the resort was open. The great news for those visiting is that it’s almost the same as normal at the resort (though less crowded).
The unit is great for us and our two girls under 6. Well stocked with beach stuff including boogie boards and beach toys and beach chairs. A bunch of games for the girls to play. Beds and even the pull out couch were comfy.
Honua Kai is the best and we go every year. This was our first time renting a ground floor unit and it was a fun change to be able to walk straight out to the lanai and the pool.
They have keypad entry which makes getting in super easy after a long flight. The bellman will hold your bags too while you enjoy the pool if you get there before checkin.
Only hiccup that I’m sure won’t happen again is that Dan sent us to the wrong unit (he owns two) and his on site manager Monty had given us a code that I guess works for both units. So after a long flight we spent an hour unloading everything and getting settled and just as we were ready to hit the pool, Monty let us know about the mixup. It took a while to get Dan involved but once he was he made everything right and even offered to have someone unload our whole fridge of food and move it over. He’s great and so even when there are hiccups, he made it right.

Great property for a family vacation. The property had great amenities with a large pool area for the kids, beach access and a market and restaurant on site. The condo came with beach equipment which the kids loved and made our visit very easy. Communication was great the host. Would definitely come back on our next visit.

We could not have asked for more for our stay in Maui for our family of four. The condo was so well-appointed and the owner and property manager were fantastic to work with. Having a huge grassy area with a view of the mountain was heavenly - the kids had plenty of space. It was so easy to walk out to the pool and/or beach - it is one of the closest condos to all of the action (yet not noisy at all). We decided this is the only place we want to stay in Maui! We will be back soon!

This was a girls trip with my adult daughter and my best friend. Communication prior to checking in and at check in was the best I’ve ever had with any short term rental. The unit was a large, clean 2 bedroom which gave us plenty of room. The grounds were lovely to walk around, the quiet pool was perfect and the spa was very relaxing. We would definitely stay again.

This is such a great property. We have a 4 and 7 year old, so were looking for something that was a convenient location with plenty to do. This place hit it out of the park. First of all, the condo itself is very nice and has all the amenities needed for a family. It is groundfloor, so it opens up to a patio where my wife and I got to chill while the kids played on a huge grass area.
The location was awesome, couldn't ask for any better. There is a grocery store and shopping center with restaurants just across the street of the complex, maybe a 7 minute walk. There is a food truck park even closer and has many options. We were 2 minutes from the various pools, Duke's restaurant and beach (all part of the complex). You are 10 minute drive from downtown Lahaina where we spent one of our evenings out for dinner and walking around. We even attended a great Luau which was a 20 minute walk down the pathway along the ocean.
The host Dan and property manager Monty we great communicators and so responsive. They had everything set for us and it was a worry free experience. We can't wait to go back.

My family of four had a wonderful stay at Honua Kai Resort! The unit was perfect, clean and comfortable. We appreciated the four beach chairs and boogie board. We loved the ground floor access being able to avoid the busy elevators and walking out to the grassy area for my son to play catch! The resort had all the amenities you would want from towels, the onsite food and drink service, the slide and multiple pools. The only negative I can come up with is that we were there over President's weekend/week and it was busy, so lounge chairs were hard to find if you came to the pool after 8:30am. People were reserving chairs for hours before they came to the pool. We did end up renting the Casabella chairs twice so we had a place to sit. Overall we loved everything and hope to travel back again some day.

Maui is beautiful, it also can feel very crowded and busy. The property is really close ( driving distance) to historic Lahaina Town, Kaanapali, and a super market but just out of touch off mass crowds. The room is ground floor so you have very easy access to it all really. Parking elevator, Pool, general mart, gym, a restaurant, and of course a white sandy beach with a stunning view of the other islands. Great golf courses near by as well. Kitchen is well stocked and lots of room to relax and repeat.

HK is a very large property. The nice thing about 106 is it’s on the quiet side away from pools. It’s convenient to the elevator and fitness center. The pools are very crowded but a nice bonus is you can use townhome pools surrounding the back of the property. It was nice to find a place to read. My suggestion for the owner is get new knives, more mixing bowls, and supply glass cleaner as everything is glass top. The owner was very responsive.

We really liked this ground floor condo. We could easily walk out the back and go right to the beach. The condo was clean and had two tommy Bahama umbrellas and chairs. It was quiet and everyone was friendly.
Garage parking fills up if you come back after about 8pm and you will have to use valley parking. This was a bit problematic when we were leaving for a morning snorkeling trip and had to wait 15 minutes for a valley to show up to get the car.
The air conditioning was the weak point. The unit was never comfortable. I reached out to our contact and he basically told us to keep the windows closed. We did and we still were uncomfortable each night as the AC setting could not be set lower. The setting said 65 but the actual temperature was way above that. I would estimate the average temperature inside throughout our stay was about 78 to 82.

The unit was spacious and beautiful. the location was great - on the back (south?) side of the Konea "U", facing the other tower (not facing into the middle). Easy to walk to/fron Dukes & the pools and beach directly from the lanai (back porch), which was super convenient.
