Ward & Paula's place in Princeville takes the cake. Had we done our trip in reverse and stayed at Ward & Paula's last I would have tried to convince my husband we needed to stay longer.
Quiet property, walking distance to the grocery store and everything you would need. Wyllie's beach was a gem & was probably the best beach we visited for swimming (I wish we knew that before we came and we would have spent more time there). We loved coming "home" after a hot day of hiking and exploring and going for a swim. We had the pool to ourselves almost everyday, it was the perfect way to wind down.
Thank you Ward & Paula for an exceptional stay. If I can convince my husband to travel for 15 hours by plane again we will be back & for longer!

The apartment is nicely appointed, new shower/updated bathroom, updated kitchen, comfortable bed and furniture. There is a ceiling fan over the bed (lifesaver!) and another fan in the main living area--we were never overheated or uncomfortable from a temperature standpoint, even with no AC as long as the fans were on. At the time of our stay (early June 2023) the golf course area out the back door was under construction, and with that, there was some construction noise. We did not find this disruptive as we spent most of time out of the condo and by the time we returned in the evening, the workers were done for the day. Communication with the owner was fast and great--they made some recommendations for us that were appreciated. There was some slight confusion regarding the check-in because the instructions posted on the VRBO app said to "turn left" upon entering the hall (it is actually a right turn to get to this unit) and VRBO gave different wi-fi info than what I got from the owner--I assume that info was for the other unit, as well. The wifi worked great the entire time we were there, the washer and dryer in the unit was definitely appreciated, and the parking was easy. We had ZERO problems with the rental and that's just the kind of thing we want! This unit is perfect for a couple. Quick access to everything on the north side of the island by car and walkable to several good places to eat. Great location for a laid back vacation!

Half a mile walk from a beach hike. Barely heard/saw our neighbors. Comfortable bed and tons of extra bedding. Shower was spacious and they had extra sunscreen, bug spray, and lotion. Beach toys in bin on back porch helpful. Walk to Anini beach is 10-15 minutes. Hanalei Bay and others short drive. It’s about an hour drive to South shore of island.

This was my second time staying at this condo and it was just as great as the first time! The condo was spotless when we arrived and the neighbor who cleans between guests, Shelby, was once again super friendly, kind and helpful! The location is great for North Shore activities.
One note- the upstairs condo is a short-term rental unit as well and the ceiling/floor is very thin so if the guests upstairs are heavy footed you will hear every step that they take, something to keep in mind if that bothers you.
The beach equipment is about ready to be refreshed (only one beach chair and it's nearing the end of its life) and a folding drying rack that could be used to dry swimsuits and towels would be a great addition to this condo, but otherwise it worked out great for us.
Would absolutely recommend and can't wait to stay here again!

Great place for my husband and I! Perfect size, wry clean. Kitchen is awesome!! Bed is comfortable, washer and dryer work great! The walk down to the beach is great, very steep but so worth it! It’s a great landing place after you trek around the island all day. Feels like a home away from home. You can definitely hear your neighbors, and I’m a heavy sleeper. But no worse than the roosters which are normal everywhere out here. Will definitely stay here again in the future!!

My husband and I were so pleased with this vacation rental! The location is ideal (you're a ten-minute walk from both the grocery store and Anini Beach), and the studio was furnished with all of the items we needed for our stay. Parking was a breeze, and the condo's pool was a bonus after long days in the saltwater. I highly recommend for other travelers looking for a home away from home in the Princeville area!

I can’t say enough good things about my stay at this place- it was perfectly spotless when I arrived and really well stocked (bathroom, kitchen, for the beach, HUGE washer and dryer, etc.), the only thing I found myself wigs hung I had was a drying rack for the lanai. The kitchen and bathroom had clearly been updated and everything was very clean and comfortable. With the slat windows I had a great cross breeze all day and night. The wifi was good and reliable enough to work remotely. The only thing I will mention is that the ceiling is extremely thin/the upstairs neighbors walk heavily without indoor slippers and you can hear every step they take. This didn’t bother me at all, but I will mention if you’re sensitive to upstairs neighbor noise this may not be the best place for you. With that minor caveat aside, I recommend anyone and everyone stay here and I will definitely book again the next time I’m in Kauai.

The place was well maintained equipped with good appliances, toiletries, kitchen wares and cleaning materials. The laundry appliances was a great plus. However, may I suggest to the owner to fix the bathroom door (sliding) which do not close all the way. The grill was great, however, after one use, it run out of gas. We had to cook our steak inside! Will highly recommend!!!

We were very happy with this rental! It's within the golf course and easy access to the main road that goes all around the island. Enjoyed the kitchen, which had everything we needed for cooking up meals, and a grocery store is just a few min by car. The apartment had a cute setup, great for kicking back and regrouping in between all of Kauai's beautiful activities and sights.

We enjoyed our stay at Ward's place. The kitchen was very convenient for setting ourselves up for days packed with adventure. We were able to cook breakfast and make sandwiches to prepare us for the day ahead. The condo is very close to Foodland, which helped us to stay on budget. We ate poke from there every night. We enjoyed hiking at Sleeping Giant and Waipoo Falls. We also enjoyed kayaking at the river and enjoyed nearby beaches. Mahalo!

Clean, spacious condo. Hosts provided everything that was needed (both in terms of communication and amenities). Perfect for 1-2 people looking to explore Kauai’s north shore. Roosters are loud!
This has *nothing* to do with the property but just a heads-up that the road to Hanalei has quite limited access due to road work after a landslide in the March 2021 rains. As long as you plan your trips to Hanalei, it isn’t a big issue.

Comfortable and spacious layout. Decor had a vintage tropical feel and the updated bathroom, kitchen, and laundry machines were very convenient. Short, pleasant walk right out the backyard to a lovely ocean overlook for catching the sunrise.
Would have appreciated a TV capable of streaming or a DVD player. Also, ant bait/traps were full with dead ants throughout the unit.

Clean, lovely place to stay in Princeville. Well equipped for cooking if you desire to, walking distance to grocery store and beach if you’re up to the climb down and back up. Hanalei is a short drive away with restaurants and beaches as well as plenty of hiking opportunities. We chose to eat in most nights and enjoy the quiet of the area. I would recommend this as a good place to stay as it had everything you would want , beach towels, chairs, cooler for snacks on the beach, umbrella for beach, books to read and well thought out supplies in condo like shampoo, conditioner, soap, dishwasher soap and laundry soap. Plenty of towels to go around. Coffee pot is like a Keurig but you use ground coffee and not pods in it so don’t buy expensive pods. Had a beautiful breeze each day letting the trade winds do their thing in cooling down condo. Would definitely stay again next time we are back. Thank you for the use of condo.

My husband and I decided to take our first ever big vacation together to kauai! The condo was easy to get to and easy to check in. Super handy having a kitchen and washer/dryer!! We were able to explore the whole island. Property was clean, and the grocery store was just a minute or two down the road.
