We took our first ever family vacation to Maui recently, and were thrilled with our experience with this lovely, inviting, and clean place! Our son has allergies, so the kitchen was a necessity. Brandon answered all of our questions about shipping food and supplies in advance of our stay. The kids had so much space to hang out and play, and we ate breakfast outside every morning with a view of the ocean from the ground floor!
The beach here is so nice, and just a two-minute walk from your door. We ended everyday with beach time and dinner at Duke’s (also a quick walk!). The resort itself was an easy drive away from everything we wanted to do on the island.
Monty was so nice and provided all of the information needed for convenient check in and check out.
In short, we 100% plan on a return visit!

The unit’s location was very convenient. We could go straight to the pool from the lanai and it was a short hop to the beach. Parking underground was limited so anytime we returned from dinner after eight or nine we had to park outside. The only suggestion I have is for some fresh pots and pans. The unit was stocked with beach chairs, a beach umbrella, boogie boards, and snorkel gear. We just showed up, relaxed and had the trip of our lives. Thank you, we will certainly be back.

We had a wonderful stay at this condo at Honua Kai. The unit was spacious and beautiful, and fully stocked with everything we needed including beach toys for our little one. It was so nice to be able to step outside our lanai and head right to the pool or beach.
My only two small complaints were that the dryer took forever to dry clothes as it’s ventless; I relied on the laundry situation and we packed light as a result. In hindsight I probably would’ve packed a bit more had I known how long laundry would take. We also had a mouse run through our unit which was an inconvenience, though Brandon and his on-island helper Monty were helpful to try and get it addressed, the engineering team that came to set a trap was fairly slow and the process ended up taking quite a bit of time. A bit of a bummer when trying to relax on vacation. But we know it’s a first-floor unit in a tropical location, so critters are bound to be around. That said, Brandon compensated us for the inconvenience, which we appreciated.

Beautiful condo in a perfect ground-floor location. The pool was very crowded in July, but we were always grateful to retreat to our own private shaded grassy area and patio. It really was ideal. The beds were very comfortable and the bedrooms were surprisingly quiet.

This was my family’s 4th trip to Maui and one of our favorite properties. The location is super convenient: it’s a short drive to shops and restaurants and we always had parking in the garage. You can rent mopeds from 808 Mopeds, which is a 1 minute drive. Downtown Lahaina is a 20 minute moped ride and about an 8 minute car ride away. The bedrooms and bathrooms are spacious and the main living area is really big with lots of room to hang out, eat, watch tv, etc. The entire back patio wall opens up or you can just open a small section of it. The kitchen has plenty of prep space and the washer/dryer is a very convenient. We always had comfortable temperatures; the AC works really well and the large living room ceiling fan feels like a 2nd AC unit. There’s 3 smart TVs with access to most streaming apps. Some don’t require an account but others do. Read the pdf that the owner sends; it’s full of every detail you’ll need for everything in the property. There’s nothing that was missed and it’s super helpful. Any issues we had were quickly resolved by Monty the property manager. There’s plenty of towel dispensers on the property grounds and a few pools and hot tubs. Duke’s is a few footsteps away and is a great place for food and drinks and the to-go service is very reliable. We used one of the many gas grills to cook food we bought at Costco. With the sofa bed you can easily sleep 5 people. There’s a gym on site as well as a convenience store. Room keys are waterproof wristbands. I can’t say enough good things about our experience and the clear and prompt communication from the property owner and property manager.

Other family members in other units preferred this unit with the extra room on ground floor and ability to open up Lani doors and walk in and out to pools and beach from there for the kids.

This unit was in a prime location of the Honua Kai resort. Just steps away from the pools, with views from the ground floor lanai. We loved being able to enter/leave the unit from the lanai door, without dealing with hallways or elevators. The lanai door wouldn't lock from the outside when we first arrived but we let the property manager know and engineering was out the same day to fix it. The beds were comfortable, the rooms were huge, and the unit was clean. Most importantly, its location can't be beat. We had a great trip!

We stayed with another family for a week in March and this was the perfect home base for our perfect vacation. The ground floor unit was a game changer to be able to get in and out without having to deal with elevators, lobbies, etc. The high ceilings in this unit make the place feel even larger than it already is. It came equipped with everything we needed throughout our stay. Loved having the Vitamix to be able to do smoothies and the Instant Pot for easy cooking.
Honua Kai is the perfect resort with so many great amenities and a beautiful beach just steps off the property. Our kids LOVED exploring all the different pools/hot tubs. Towel tracker was super convenient though make sure to get your towels early in the morning as some days they seem to go fast. The beach out front of Honua Kai was super fun. The waves were a blast to play in and the kids were even able to see lots of cool tropical fish with just a lifejacket and goggles 15-20 feet from shore.
I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

This was our 7th trip to Honua Kai and without a doubt Konea 103 is our favourite unit. It was also our first time in a ground unit and we enjoyed not having to deal with elevators, the kids could just go outside on their own. When we weren’t at a restaurant, each meal was on the lanai. Monty was great and very responsive to questions, the check in and out process was seamless. Overall the unit was spectacular and we look forward to coming back.

We stayed here for three nights after a 10 day stay in Kihei. We loved it here. Everything about this condo was perfect. Our 22 month old could walk outside the door and play soccer in the grass or we could go for a short walk and be in the pool. The pool was amazing. Great place for the kids and lots of other kids at the resort for the little ones to make friends. Communication with Brandon always had fast responses and we were happy that it worked out we could get late check out. I would definitely stay here again. Only heads up I will give is the beds were too firm for our liking. Although I am sure there are people that prefer firm, it was tough to get a good nights sleep. We also had 2 babies in the room with us that used the 2 or the 3 playpens there and had a pretty good sleep. We put two of the playpen mattresses in one playpen to make it softer for our older (almost 2) and our 7 month old just had one and they both seemed comfortable at night.

Loved staying at this ground floor condo. It was so convenient for the 10 of us to gather (we rented 2 other condos on 2nd floor for 6 other family members). We were right outside of the pool and also great access to the beach. Condo was supplied with everything we needed for our weeks stay. Would highly recommend. It was also very easy to work with the concierge and booked all the excursions that we wanted.

This beautiful, spacious, ground level condo at Honua Kai is exactly as advertised. Walking distance to Times grocery, 5 minute drive to local fish market, swimming pools, beach access, whales sightings from the property, full kitchen and BBQ access for cooking and enjoying meals on the beautiful lanai. Boogie boards, beach chairs, cooler and umbrella are great touches! Covid safe practices at Honia Kai / not over crowded.
Enjoyed a great massage at the spa too. Host responsive , property clean and check in very easy. Loved the towel exchange program for swimming/ beach towels. Would definitely stay again!

The condo was sparkling clean when we arrived. Fully stocked for preparing meals. Owner and local manager were fast to respond to any questions. The unit has a beautiful patio that leads out to the pool area. Pools are less than 100’ from the back door. You can hear the waves from the ocean from the patio at night. It was an amazing property we will be back for sure.

We loved our stay at Honua Kai in this ground floor unit. The ease of going in and out to and from the pool, beach & BBQ was such a plus. This is our third time staying at Honua Kai and we will for sure be back. The grounds are beautiful. The location is perfect. The kitchen was well stocked. The beds where comfy and the option of splitting the king into two twins was a plus so our kids didn’t have to share a bed. There was a nice ocean view on the lanai which made for a wonderful spot to eat breakfast. It was great to have chairs, an ice chest, umbrella and sand toys provided in the unit. There was also plenty of dishwasher soap, laundry detergent, trash bags, paper towels and TP (which we typically end up having to buy). The Honua Kai and this unit made for the perfect vacation. I can’t wait to come back.

We love Honua Kai in general with all of the great amenities, but this condo in particular was really great! We especially appreciated all our f the kitchen amenities including an upgraded vitamix that we used daily. Also, being on the ground floor we had the outdoor space which was beautiful and super relaxing. Everything in this unit was wonderful. Thanks!

We love Honua Kai generally and this property was terrific. We like ground floor units for easy access and this one pairs that with enough privacy and distance from walkways. Everything was clean, communication was great, and we appreciated the subtle upgrades like a sleepersinseattle sleeper/sofa and Vitamix blenders. Great unit for some time in the sun!

This apartment was a great choice for our family with three kids. We enjoyed the proximity to the beach by having a ground floor apartment. The pictures don't show that even though it is on the first floor, the views are beautiful. You see peeks of the ocean and swaying palm trees. The beautiful landscaping makes the lanai feel very private. The apartment was very clean and well appointed. Brandon and Monti were very responsive and super helpful. We will definitely return.

First off, I want to say that the owner and property manager were incredibly professional and made the entire process super easy. They provided more than enough information and went above and beyond in ensuring we had everything we needed during our stay. The ground floor location of the unit was amazing for easy and quick access to the pool/beach/Dukes etc and our 22 month old son loved running out in the morning to see the big koi “fishees”. The unit and property is well kept and also exceeded expectations. Fantastic experience and will likely be using either this or another of Brandon’s vrbo locations at Honua Kai in the future! Mahalo!

“Nothing is perfect but I gave this Airbnb 5 stars because it was dang near perfect. The unit was spotless. It was everything we hoped for and more. We asked for two King beds for the two rooms but one room had two single beds. They had that fixed within an hour of us calling about it. Super nice people and great service. The information provided prior to arrival was extremely thorough. This unit had a private beautiful court yard within a hundred feet or so of all of the amazing amenities. We ate at Dukes our last night there and us two couples believed it was our favorite meal the week we were there (although on the expensive side). Very very happy with Brandon and manager of this unit. Highly recommend it!”

We ( parents + kids) have stayed at the Honua Kai resort 6 or 7 times over the last few years, always had a great experience and keep coming to this location. The amenities, accommodations and the resort are the best .. plus the proximity to everything on this side of the island. This was a first time we stayed in a ground level unit- we loved this experience! This unit provides a super easy access to the pool, no waiting for elevators, and at the same time a secluded, like being in a jungle experience. Looking forward to coming back soon.

Lovely property...immaculate with comfy beds, many amenities, well cared for...owner Brandon has made sure this beautiful unit is special. Monty, the property manager, provided all we requested and answered all our questions in a timely manner. 103 is a gem...ground floor with patio windows that open and go on forever. Perfect for the little guys in our group who had the fun of playing outside with the toys provided in the unit.
This is a lovely unit and great resort for families and we enjoyed every moment. We stayed in January with our son and daughter-law along with our grandsons, aged 5 and 3, and the resort was amazing...huge water slide, hot tubs, pools, great beach, and super location to various shopping outlets, surfing spots, and Dukes right on the property. Would totally recommend this unit and would love to return.

This was our second time staying in one of Brandon’s condos. We enjoyed our last stay in one of his condos, we didn’t need to look any further when we knew we were coming back to Maui. His condos are well kept up, family friendly, communication was easy with the property owner and Monty, the Property manager. Everything was clean( except After I dropped something on the kitchen floor and had to wipe it up, I felt that the floor could be cleaned a little better) well supplied, and the beds were so comfy. As well as the whole condo. Having two children (ages 4 & 1) the Garden level was fabulous because we could access the grassy area outside our Lania to play with our kids or if we just had to run to the little gift store for something. Thank you Brandon and Monty for your patience and kindness. I would 100% recommend you to stay at one of Brandon’s properties. They won’t disappoint you!

We traveled to Maui as a family of 5 and stayed at this unbelievable unit on the ground floor of this amazing resort. The location CAN NOT be beat and is within very short distance to Lahaina and all the island has to offer. Every bit of the experience from the check in to the parking and ease and convenience of all the amenities not to mention the comfort of the beds was A+++++! The kids had a blast and were able to run in and out of the unit at all hours of the day and night on their own without us having to worry about them! The unit itself is extremely clean, well organized and stocked with a full kitchen for all your cooking needs - we stayed in and cooked on several occasions as one must with kids! The unit came with boogie boards, Frisbee and beach toys which were put to very good use! Having access to the fitness room, on property markets and the beautiful grounds made the experience that much more enjoyable. There is a full supermarket within 5 minutes walk as well! Communication with the unit manager was one of the best we have ever experienced having traveled all over the world! I can tell you that you can Not go wrong with this rental - 1000% recommended!

Everything was great, the property was beautiful and the wife and kids were thrilled. The place was nicer and more spacious than the pictures made it look. I wish I would have had the kids reactions on video when we walked in. Communication was fantastic, check-in and valet were easy. Kitchen was stocked and we cooked half out meals either and the BBQs provided by the pools or in the room. Nice that there were boogie boards, noodles, chairs, coolers and the other amenities needed to enjoy the various things hawaii has to offer..
Next time we are in Hawaii, my hope is the same spot is available.
