This rental exceeded all of our expectations! Located on one of the best beaches in Kauai, the property was clean and modern - unlike many listings, the pictures do a great job of showing the condo. The owners thoughtfully provided many of the basics, including basic kitchen and cooking items, as well as clear instructons on how to use the devices in the unit. The property itself is gorgeous, and provides many of the perks of a resort without any hidden fees. My wife and I had an amazing stay, and we look forward to coming back in the near future!

This place is exactly as advertised. The resort grounds are landscaped and maintained beautifully. The conveniences such as foot-washing stations, chaise lounges, trash cans and gas grills are abundant and well-located. The towel stand handles a lot more than towels including surfing lessons. The pool and activity center are off-site but easy to access and just a short walk away. Shopping and dining options are right across the street. The beach is one of the best on the island.
But the real star is Unit 198. The beach is literally right out the back door. We spent as much time as possible on the lanai soaking up the sun, listening to the waves, and absorbing the beauty. We researched options for ocean view dining but wound up buying steaks and using one of the resort's (very clean) grills. We could not get any better seating for dinner than what we already had.
Duke's Hale is clean, comfortable, and well-stocked. The owners and the resort staff are easy to communicate with and very responsive. Check-in-check-out were a breeze. Having air-conditioning is a plus; not every unit at Kiahuna Plantation has AC. If it had been just a bit cooler, however, we would have taken advantage of the louvered doors and windows designed to keep the air moving.
Tip: if visiting in the summer and the sunset is not visible from Kiahuna Plantation, walk over to the point at the Sheraton and catch it there. You won't be disappointed.

Amazing property right on the beach! This was our third trip to Poipu, first time in a condo and we loved having the extra space, stocked kitchen and being right on the beautiful beach. The condo was perfect, clean & comfortable & we loved how it was updated and decorated. The location is perfect...close to shops, restaurants and nice to be able to utilize the laundry facility & fitness center. Loved the overall property with outdoor grills, lawns to relax on and a fun family vibe. Thanks for a wonderful week, we can't wait to visit again!

I stayed here recently over spring break with my wife and two kids (ages 8 and 10). You cannot beat the location, it is right on the beach with unbelievable views and breezes. My kids would go out and swim in the ocean every single morning and we can watch them right from our lanai. Really calm and clear waters, great snorkeling for kids and adults. Even a small little surf break where beginners can try out for the first time. The unit was great, no issues whatsoever for a family of four. Nice short little walk across to the Poipu athletic club for pool and food/drinks as well. Would definitely stay there again - no complaints at all!

Delightful stay with the sights and sounds of the ocean with us from the lanai to the living area to the bedroom. No need for A/C, with louvered windows allowing a cross breeze. Walked to several restaurants and bars and enjoyed observing the monk seals come and go just down the beach.

Love the Kiahuna Hate the tv system. Every other day is a hassle! Late flights are an issue, just don’t unless you buy an extra day up front! Best new restaurant is in Koloa, The Tasting Room

If you are looking for a super clean place to crash that is seriously right on the ocean this is the place. You can walk 5 minutes to restaurants and shopping and your back sliding glass is 10 feet from sand. The bedroom gets a little warm, but fans in there help a lot. The beach can get crowded but don’t worry. You can lay out on the lanai and be away from the crowd. It’s not a massive;y large place being only 1 bedroom, but to be honest, if it’s just 2 of you, it’s perfect. Really enjoyed our stay.

Great location and the unit was as advertised!! Loved the cool breezes, ocean front back patio with is great for getting sun and the AC worked great when we needed it. Views are excellent, close parking and a few steps from the ocean. Can’t say enough nice things. Check in and check out was very smooth too.

I've stayed on Kiahuna plantation on a couple of occasions with family and this is by far the best one! The AC works perfectly which many properties do not have. There is no AC in the bedroom but the fans definitely help. Sonia and Justin are incredibly responsive and accommodating. I misunderstood the cleaning clause and they covered a day for us as a courtesy. I would definitely book here again.

I had debated this unit and another one that had no AC (but instead had in-room laundry) and I am sooooo glad I chose this one. Having the AC was extremely nice as the weather was very hot and humid. The rental is fully stocked with everything you need which makes it so much more convenient than a hotel. We cooked most of our meals in the condo and had coffee on the beach each morning and cocktails in the evening. It’s a short drive to many activities and beaches. Hosts were responsive and helpful and the staff at the property were amazing. I’d highly recommend this unit!! It will not disappoint!

If you want to step out onto the beach then this is the condo for you! Fall asleep to the sound of the waves and enjoy oceanfront living. Truly paradise! Great low key property that is located close to some great restaurants. But the access to a great swimming beach right out front of your condo is the star here!!

Though we've been lucky to visit Kauai many times over the years, this was our first time staying on the south beach. Sonia and Justin's condo was the perfect choice! It was newly renovated and beautifully appointed. There were several questions before our arrival, and S & J answered every one of them promptly.
We will definately be back!

What a wonderful place to stay right on Kiahuna Beach. The condo is very clean and has everything you need including boogie boards, beach chairs, beach umbrella, beach towels, fully equipped kitchen and a beautiful bathroom. In addition there is extra sunscreen, lotions, TP & paper towels. For the ladies there is also a magnifying mirror and a diffuser attachment for the hair dryer that you’ll enjoy while sitting at your bedroom vanity table.
The listing pictures show a red sofa and chair in the living room but those have been replaced with a new sofa but no chair. Placement is a little awkward if you want to watch TV but why watch TV with the ocean outside your door?
The only things we wish we had were (1) bar-height chairs for outside so that you can see better over the privacy hedge, (2) a pull-out clothes line in the shower to hang wet bathing suits, and (3) space to store groceries. It would be great to move the TV to the wall behind the table and turn the TV cabinet into a pantry.

Absolutely the best stay, all around!!
The location is unforgettable! There is something special about being that close to the ocean. Despite having neighbors and being so close to the beach, we never heard anything but the waves!
The amenities (renting snorkel gear, towel exchange, pool, etc) were easy to access and awesome to have available.
The place itself is gorgeous, spacious, and full of everything we needed (coffee, brita filter, board games, boogie boards, beach chairs/umbrella & SO much more).
The communication was fantastic, our hosts recommended a local car rental site that saved us hundreds against the chain sites!
Our family was staying across the street at Pili Mai, and although their condos were bigger, they were all SO jealous of our place!
I can’t wait to go back!!
