Our second time at Honua Kai, first time in this unit. Great room with wonderful view, placed right in the middle of everything. While we spent most of our time outside, the room is convenient, quiet, clean, well maintained with great appliances. The pools and lazy river are very fun and the beach and snorkeling are fantastic. We saw sea turtles every day. We will definitely be back.

Fully stocked unit with everything you might need to cook or head to the beach. Very quiet property and unit location. Restaurant on property it one of the best on the island.. Get reservations!. Real beach here too! not bad snorkeling off the beach

I cannot recommend this property enough! Joe is a fantastic host and was extremely responsive to anything we needed. The condo itself was very clean, well maintained, and well stocked with everything you need for cooking and for the beach (including beach chairs, umbrellas, coolers, sand toys, etc). We had an incredible time and I can guarantee you will too if you choose to stay at one of Joeās condos (in addition to VRBO, you can search āKai Malina Propertiesā to see them all in one place). Can't say enough how amazing this property was! The location was perfect, the space was immaculately clean, and Joe was consistently in contact. The combination of the kitchen with the resort experience gave the best of both worlds -- a rental and a hotel stay in one. Will absolutely be booking again in the future.

We have stayed at the Honua Kai before and that's what made us want to return to this amazing property. Prior to arriving we received an email from the property manager with instructions which made arrival so much easier. Honua Kai is just beautiful inside and out. The outside of the property has multiple pools, beach towels available, direct access to a wonderful beach that is footsteps away from any unit you stay in, water rentals such as snorkels etc, and a Duke's Restaurant on site. Parking is easy and convenient. The Honua Kai is located right on Kaanapali Beach and is about 6 miles or so from Lahaina. As far as our unit goes, we stayed in a studio with a partial beach view. It was clean and very nice. Completely comfortable and plenty of room for just me and my husband. We loved sitting on the lanai watching the sunset and enjoying our beach views. The description said there were beach towels which there wasn't and the umbrella was there but when we took it out on the beach discovered it was broken. This was disappointing because Maui is HOT is September but it wasn't a deal breaker or anything. The unit also had a cooler for us to use as well as other beach equipment that we didn't use but it was nice to have it in case we needed it. We would definitely recommend this VRBO and will return in the future for sure!

This room is perfect for a couple. We slept with lanai door open and could hear the ocean. The kitchen is well appointed, great for breakfast and lunch. It's great to have "Dukes" on sight for dinners. The room is "as advertised" and the best feature is having a wash machine and dryer so you can pack light. We've stayed at Honua Kai Resort several times and always look to return for all the great ammenities.

We would not hesitate to rent this property again if we ever have the pleasure of visiting Maui in the future. The resort was beautiful, the views were breathtaking, and the studio had everything we needed. Kitchen was fully stocked, along with champagne, chocolates and coffee provided by the host. We loved having our morning coffee on the lanai, taking in the views of the ocean, mountains, and whales passing by. The available beach chairs made our time at the beach very relaxing and comfortable. The only issue was lack of good lighting in the bathroom. Other than that, we couldn't have asked for a better rental while vacationing in paradise.

Check-in process is quick and easy. You receive an armband to wear for all resort activities: door locks, towel service...very nice. The unit is spotless and I found everything I needed during the nine nights. The courtyard can be noisy during the day and early evenings but if you want quiet just close the door. The room is very quiet otherwise. Since it is a studio, there isn't much room for suitcases so you may want to unpack. The bathroom shower is roomy and has plenty of hot water. If you like a room cold, the A/C is capable but we never turned it on and were comfortable. The view is quite nice, binoculars available it it's whale season. I look forward to booking again.

Loved this property because you have all the comforts of home (in-unit kitchen, laundry, tv), but also hotel conveniences (concierge, pool towels, on site restaurant, and gift shop with barista, snacks, and grocery basics). Great, fast communication with owner.

This is the second time we have stayed in this unit. We were glad to return. The condo is clean and well appointed. When we arrived, the beach chairs were not there. Joe responded to our text inquiry immediately and had new chairs at the condo within an hour or two. Great service!!
The resort is in a great location. Grocery store and ABC store within a ten minute walk. Dukes on property is awesome and provides poolside service as well.

This was the best experience in Maui yet. This room was amazing, close to the elevator, included beach gear and snorkeling gear, floating gear, etc. The complimentary champagne and chocolate covered Mac nuts just set the tone perfectly. The check in process was so easy and Joe was very easy to communicate with. We will be staying here again and I donāt think we would stay anywhere else except here when we come back to Maui. I will never stay in a resort hotel again in Maui because this was better.
