4 of us spent a week at unit 1009 in May. It had almost a perfect 5 star rating, so I will admit to being a little disappointed, and expected more. Perhaps, since we hadn’t visited the island in 20 years, my expectations were unrealistic
• Far, far too much furniture in the front bedroom. It is very crowded
• The tub/shower-really inconvenient, if not unsafe. It is a deep whirlpool tub with a shower in it. There is a step up, but the step down is probably 2’. Getting back out is a challenge. There is one rail on the wall to hold onto, but it is barely enough to hoist yourself up and out of the tub.
• The grout and caulking around the tub had mold/mildew. There is a cracked tile on the wall
• There is an issue with the air conditioning. Even with the sun shades closed during the day, the living area overheats even with the AC running. And the front master bedroom gets too cold, while the living area is too warm. There didn’t appear to be any way to close the vent in the bedroom to keep it more temperate and would actually help push more air into the living area. The back bedroom has it’s own AC thermostat
All of that said, we enjoyed our stay, and our host, Sue, is a nice person and a great communicator. So nice, that I actually feel bad that I’m not leaving a 5 star review. There is nothing so bad as to discourage anyone from renting the unit, though, but a few changes/improvements would certainly make it a 5 star stay.

We loved our stay at Mahana! With a napping toddler, it was the perfect place to enjoy relaxing and amazing views right above the ocean! Better than any ground level hotel room. We saw the best sunsets here, saw multiple turtles every day and even whales! There is actually great snorkeling on the beach in front to the left (perfect If you want something low key without a lot of driving and fuss).
The apartment was super comfortable and had everything we needed and Sue was very kind and responsive. Highly recommend!
The only note I would add is that if you have kids (or adults) excited about a pool, the pool here is fairly small and for small kids, it doesn’t actually have a shallow end so be ware. But the water was warm and the hot tub was great and no need to worry about the pool when the ocean is right there!

Sue was an awesome host! She answered all our questions about beach equipment and extras that she had to make our stay super easy. The views are phenomenal!! We watched whales and sea turtles from the window and deck everyday. The condo itself was fully stocked with everything you could need plus lots of extras that meant we didn’t need to spend extra money for rentals (sunbrellas, coolers, beach towels, beach chairs etc).
Check in was a breeze. The property and condo are extremely well maintained. We stayed with our 3 kids (9, 11 &13) and had plenty of space for all of us. There is a parking lot of food trucks just down the street that make dining with lots of options super convenient. We wish we had booked 2 weeks instead of 1!!

Incredible location, right on edge of beach. Amazing views especially the whale sightings every morning. Food trucks in nearby park are amazing, especially the Vietnamese one. Condo is modern and well appointed. Lovely gift basket with gifts to take home. Also appreciated the mineral sunscreen that guests had left. The only issues we had were minor. Although one doesn’t come to Hawaii to watch TV, we did find the instructions missing a step, we couldn’t watch broadcast TV from living room. Also the water pressure, especially in second bedroom was often low. But really an enjoyable stay. FYI, many restaurants in Maui are booked weeks or even months in advanced so you may need to book early. Boardwalk is great!

The host Sue is absolutely amazing, we had a one tiny piece of advice that we needed for the lanai doors (make sure they are shut all the way) for the air to work seamlessly and Sue responded immediately. Effortless check in and check out, all the key codes and car tag info are given with check in. The views are incredible in this unit. We had a perfect stay!

The pictures do not lie. The ocean views from this clean and comfortable property are spectacular. We enjoyed watching whales, turtles, dolphins and even mongoose from the lanai. The Mahana resort is exceptionally well kept including the pool, tennis court and grills. The kitchen was well equipped and made it easy to cook. We appreciated the additional touches such as the binoculars and beach equipment. Parking is easy and shopping/restaurants close by.
Just a FYI. The oceanfront bedroom bathroom shower requires a step up and a big step down. There is a handrail however an unsteady guest or one with mobility issues should use the other shower.

Very calm and relaxing experience in a nicely appointed condo. The place had everything we needed for our beach oriented stay. Internet worked great for all of our gadgets. Air conditioning made the hot days bearable. The view is by far the best I’ve ever had in Maui. We saw dozens of whales during our march trip. The space was Very clean. Everything worked great. Beds were comfortable . Parking was easy. close to shopping. Other guests of the building and staff were very nice. we would definitely stay again

The is condo is perfect! The view was so good that we picked up dinner, ate on the balcony and watched the sunset every night. You can walk on the beach a good distance during low tide...tide doesn't change much but the beach isn't very wide. You can watch sea turtles swim around. The pool area is nice but didn't use it much. Kitchen had everything we needed. Beds are comfortable. The only thing that I could see a problem with would be the master bathtub/shower. It would be hard for someone that is off balance to get in and out of it safely. BUT there is another bedroom with a bathroom so no big deal. The location is perfect. Grocery store, restaurants and a food truck lot are extremely close.
I did give the review 4 stars for checking in and 4 stars for communication. We were not register at parking kiosk and were not able to get a parking pass. I messaged the owners with no response. I gave the review 5 stars because it did not affect our stay at all. We were not stopped or questioned. I would rent this condo again and will suggest it to family and friends.

Can’t say enough about the view! Loved watching sea turtles from the window and lanai. Great location with easy access to store plus a fun food truck lot in walking distance. The beach is perfect! The condo was very clean and owner was super responsive. Highly recommend! Concierge booked us a sail Maui snorkel trip which was a highlight, as was Atlantis sub tour and Lahaina fish co restaurant. You would love this stay!

The unit was very clean & updated, the beds amazingly comfortable, and you can’t beat the views from the lanai balcony and wrap around window - pure paradise! We saw sea turtles, whales and dolphins right from our window. Everything was as described in the listing ..and then some. We will definitely be back and I would highly recommend this vrbo to anyone coming to Maui. Perfect location and walking distance from great restaurants and shops..and a beach outside your door.
