The place was great. We were unfortunate that the facility was cleaning the outside of the building during our stay, so we couldn't use the outdoor space. However, that has nothing to do with my booking. I had a great time!

Our first night we were missing a blanket for the pull out bed. Second day try to use dryer and dryer door broken. And the bathroom toilet clogged up.. I had to pretty much deal with everything. The property manager was not helpful

This property suited our needs perfectly. The unit is in great shape and the resort is super family friendly with the pools, stores, and restaurant. The location is great for morning beach walks and nearbye (30 minute beach walk) Black Rock beach is great for snorkeling and ocean fun. Owner was very responsive and everything was smooth.

Wonderful place to stay and had everything you could need. Great location right on the beach but also had a very nice pool for the days when the water was rough. The Owner responded quickly to any questions and offered a lot of great information for the island.

What an amazing time we had , this property was everything we could have wished for . The unit was clean and well stocked . The location was perfect my grandchildren 4&11 really enjoyed the pools . Whale watching was the best and having shopping on site was a bonus . We can’t wait to return .

We stayed with our two young children and it was perfect! We were walking distance from whalers village shopping ctr (1.5mi), grocery store, urgent care, restaurants (across the street), and the resort had everything you could want with restaurant on site, coffee shop, fitness room and market all on the property. The location was beautiful on the beach and the pools were awesome! We would definitely stay again!

We stayed here for 12 amazing nights and absolutely LOVED the unit & LOVED everything about Honua Kai!!!! Pools here are amazing, 5 hot tubs that r massive and actually get HOT! There is a lazy river style pool, and then three other pools - even a quiet time pool (yes ppl do bring their kids on vacation with them so if u need quiet go here). As far as ppl complaining about there being too many kids here I don't really get it, kids r humans & ppl take their kids with them on vacay. I guess if kids bother u a lot? Anyways, Dukes is awesome to have here and the little market is cute (yes it's expensive but they only carry high quality stuff and talk about convenience). The beach here is great especially if u walk like 100 feet to the left it's awesome with trees lining the beach. The views at this resort are absolutely stunning! You can see lanai and Molokai at the same time while sitting at the beach! Super cute board walks take u to the beach (there was a few of them) and then there's a boardwalk that goes all the way down to black rock if you want to do a nice long walk and it's all lit if u go late at night.
Ok back to the unit, super nice kitchen with gorgeous granite, nice furniture and good bathroom (tbh I really wanted the unit with the bigger bathroom but this one is just fine and much less $$ than some of the other units). I actually LOVED having a mountain view, the mountain u see from the lanai is stunning (that's where the pic I attached to this review is from). If u really must have an ocean view than spring for that but I thought the view here was great. The unit was absolutely immaculate when we got in, came with beach chairs beach towels and a cooler! The kitchen was very well stocked as well. We had one very minor issue with the oven door not closing and the owner responded immediately to an email and had it fixed by mid morning the same day! She even called us at the unit to discuss and gave us some spa recommendations! Very very nice gal!
Honua Kai is an amazing resort, feels more natural and not all squished in like the resorts at black rock, much more private and u don't have millions of ppl walking in front of ur hotel all the time. I seriously thought Honua Kai was absolutely perfect! Definitely felt 5 stars we will DEFINITELY come back and rent through the same people!

We stayed for a week at Honua Kai. This unit was beautiful. Stocked with everything you could possibly need to make your stay perfect. It is conveniently located and close to everything. Whether you want to spend your day at the beach or around the pool, you have it all at Honua Kai. The property is beautiful. The owner is very helpful and responds quickly to emails. We will definitely be back!!

We stayed for 8 days for our honeymoon and everything was excellent. Condo was well stocked with everything we needed, plenty of towels, fully stocked kitchen and alot of extras that made our stay much easier than staying in a hotel (boogie boards, beach chairs & cooler, kitchen utensils, dishes, washer and dryer, ect) The condo was very clean and the owner was super easy to deal with...did not have a single problem with our trip and it was an excellent value. Would definitely recommend!

We stayed here for our spring break with our two small children, ages 4 and 7, and it was the perfect condo for our family. The resort is beautiful. We enjoyed the spa, the workout room, the market/cafe in the building, the restaurant, and especially the pools. The children loved swimming in the lazy river pool, going down the water slide, and playing in the waterfall. They even have a wading pool area perfect for tots. There is a large lawn where our kids loved running and playing ball. Our kids also enjoyed watching the koi fish in the koi pond in the courtyard of our building. The beach is beautiful and wasn't too crowded. We enjoyed swimming in the ocean, and the snorkeling was amazing! You can walk along the beach or the boardwalk up to the other resorts/hotels, but we were happy to be at Honua Kai, because the location was much quieter than the other hotels we saw. Also, it was so nice to have a fully-stocked kitchen to prepare meals, and we enjoyed having cocktails and meals out on our large lanai/balcony overlooking the mountains (and often beautiful rainbows)! The owners of the condo are so easy to deal with, and were very responsive. The condo came with a cooler perfect for taking picnic lunches on the beach, two boogie boards, a pak-n-play and even a portable feeding seat for those with babies/toddlers. There were plenty of towels, toilet paper, paper towels, beach towels, soap, shampoo and conditioner - the owners really go all out to ensure you have a comfortable stay. There were tons of children at the resort, so it was a very kid-friendly place that our kids loved! Duke's Restaurant was great for breakfast and dinner on occasion, but it was also nice to be able to cook in the condo or grill outside by the pool. I highly recommend Honua Kai for families visiting Maui! We will come back again and specifically stay at this condo, which was so clean and well-stocked.

We go to Maui twice a year, and this was the first time that we stayed at this condo. The suite was everything promised and more. Dealing with the owner was a pleasure, she was so responsive and helpful. The condo itself was the cleanest we have stayed at, and had all the additional things, like salt, pepper, coffee, and things like boogie boards. If you've ever stayed at other condos, they often have bare bones, and it can add up to buy basic kitchen supplies and buy/rent beach accessories. You can't fail by staying at this condo.

The only minor item I could call out would be better equipment selection and variety for the gym on the property.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The unit was in mint condition, and had everything we need. We also liked the ever changing mountain view with rainbows.
The resort was also nice with plenty of activities to do. One thing I would suggest for improvement would be for the hotel to warn the guests that the beach right in front of the resort has reefs. It is good for snorkeling, but for swimming, 100 yards to the south would be much better.
We will definitely stay in the same unit if we visit Maui again.

I stayed in the condo during November it was a great first visit to Maui. The condo it self, was well maintained, spacious, new and everyone there was very accommodating. The walk to the beach is short and the beach itself is endless with ample room to find a cozy spot without too many people around. The resort itself has Dukes restaurant which is great for dinner. We did wish there was something open past 10pm as we are in our late 20's and wanted a place to have a cocktail, but that is what your Lanai was for ! As for surroundings, it is great to have a car as we did mini excursions to Lahiana and Kapalua which were both no more then 10-20 minute drives. It was also nice to have a grocery store that was a 5 minute walk away so we could stock the fridge when we arrived. All in all it was a great vacation, wish i was still there. The owners were great to deal with, fast in responding and provided us with the perfect amount of information to get us started on our vacation. I can't wait to return for our next stay at Honua Kai.
