The condo was beautiful. Plenty big for our family of 5. The pools and facilities were clean, safe and fun to explore. Great snorkeling off the beach! The only issue we had was with the AC. It wouldn't stay on. There was a note saying the AC would turn off if the doors were open. We had made sure all the doors (no windows) were shut but still it would not stay on. Luckily there were plenty of ceiling fans so those helped. Regardless, we still would come back!

The kitchen was equipped with seasonings and olive oil for cooking, as well as pans, plates, silverware, etc. It was an amazingly beautiful beach and grounds. Thanks for a great vacation.

We loved our week long stay at this property. The unit is just as advertised and a very nice and comfortable home base for your time in Maui. The unit was equipped with everything we needed for our stay and the overall complex is beautiful and provides options for a family or adults only vacation. We had a fantastic two week holiday! The unit was well cared for and had absolutely everything we needed including beach chairs, kids life jackets, snorkel gear, boogie boards, a cooler on wheels, pool noodles, butter, mustard, mayo, zip lock bags coffee, olive oil spices salt and pepper. It had more provisions than other units we’ve rented in the Honua Kai and it was very helpful for our two week stay! The hula hideaway team was very responsive, easy to get a hold of and accommodating. The Honua Kai building is really in a very convenient location and great for kids which is why we keep returning with our family! We hope to be able to secure this unit the next time we travel to Maui! Many thanks :)

The condo was spacious, well decorated, and had all the necessary upgrades like washer dryer, boogie boards, chairs, umbersll even which was great! The lanai was huge and opened right up to an indoor outdoor space feeling. Beds were comfortable. Great den for our 15 year old with his own couch which turned into a bed. Massive bathroom with two sinks! Everything was clean, the only issue we had was the couch could have used a good steam cleaning made out of a light coloured fabric, it obviously is prone to becoming dirty. Other than that minor issue everything was great. Jill and her team were extremely responsive which we really appreciated since we needed a few extra things along the way. Super nice people!!

This was our 2nd trip to Honua Kai and the unit didn’t disappoint! Perfect for our family of 5 (so much more room than a traditional hotel). The unit had everything we needed from pool floats to kitchen appliances! View of mountains and ocean from the lanai. Will definitely be back - thank you for an amazing vacation!

This was our first time staying at Honua Kai but I had heard good things from others. The room was great and it was a nice resort. My husband and daughter and I had plenty of room and we enjoyed that the owners had a boogie board and floatys available to use. The only negative was the parking. We had an issue every night after coming back from dinner finding parking in the garage and would have to park up the street a ways. It sounds like they usually have valet but were not offering it when we were there. Other than that it was a great stay!

We had a great time at Honua Kai. We travelled with another family that had stayed at the property before. Our first vacation since the pandemic, and some things are different. We ate more at the condo than usual, and did mostly outside activities. I had requested boogie boards prior to our stay, and they were in our closet!

What a great property! Wonderful condo for a family of four including two kids under 10. Condo was very nice and a great size for four people. Unit had great extras like beach chairs, boogie boards, cooler, and umbrella to take along to the beach. The overall property was busy with kids/families so pool chairs were hard to come by but the beach chairs in the unit did the trick. Property located on the beach and short drive to Lahaina for shopping/food. Also short walk to food truck lot with multiple choices as well. Great overall location and great property. Can't wait to come back!

We had a lovely time staying here and found it to be a perfect hub for seeing different sights around the island! We were very comfortable and the small issues we had were addressed quickly and fully. All the beach supplies were especially appreciated! Note that shampoo and conditioner are not provided, and we ended up having to buy toilet paper because we only had a couple of rolls for nine days and a full house, but otherwise we had absolutely everything we needed and would definitely stay here again!

The rental unit was beautiful and exactly as advertised with all the comforts of home (except a rice cooker for us island folk – we should have inquired before leaving home). Jill was a great host who responded quickly to all the questions we had. She gave us an early check in and a late check out. I would have given this review a 5 but there were a few things that did not go as planned, probably due to the Covid-19 situation.
We are a local family who live on Maui and our main reason for selecting this property was so that everyone, could enjoy the pools. Before booking, I called and asked if all the pools were open and was told it was. However, upon arrival on Friday afternoon, I was informed that the pool hours were changed from 6a-10pm to 9am-5pm, and that only 2 pools were open. One was a small pool by the villas with a maximum capacity of 30 people. And the other pool was called a “family pool” (which wasnʻt too much bigger than the 1st pool). What gave the pool situation a negative feel was that there were no umbrellas for shade by the family pool. Whereas all the surrounding pools that were closed had umbrellaʻs for shade. We asked a security guard if we could move the umbrellas and he said we should just go to the other pool. Our pool saga continued when on Saturday, after getting our family out of the pool by 5:00pm, we see people in the pool after 6:00pm and find that the hotel extended the time to 8:00pm without letting us know.
