Sandpiper #105b Reviews

January 2024
We showed up at 11pm from airport and there was no parking available, its first come first serve for parking and that was not in the description. We had to try and find somewhere else to park and it’s has very strict parking regulations in the neighborhood so we had to go park at a friends house. The power was tripped in the bathroom our first morning there when my wife was using her hair dryer which then all outlets and lights did not work in the bathroom. We called the number for local management to have someone come fix it, they said they would send someone out soon and they never showed up. We tried calling back multiple times to get an update when they would send someone out and they never responded or picked up the phone. We had to use our phone to light up the bathroom to see what we were doing the whole time. Terrible experience will not rent here again and don’t recommend it. I will try to get money back for reimbursement.

The pool is nice, and the hot tub is nice too (but watch out, there's not really any steps to get in and out, not good for elders). The bed was comfortable, and parking wasn't bad once we figured out where the 2nd parking lot was (always had room there). Neighbors were nice and no loud people. The moderate negatives are things that are beyond the property managers control: 1. The pool/hot tub closes at 9:00. After a long day of hiking, a soak after dinner gets cut short. 2. While it's totally natural for heavy rain pretty much every day in Princeville, the drainpout that is attached to the outer wall of the unit sounds like someone pounding on the wall with a hammer. It woke us up every night when the rain would come. Not a good spot for a light sleeper. 3. During the day time, another unit a few doors down was getting remodeled, and they'd start with the saws and stuff at around 9:00am... so no sleeping in. (this will probably be very short term, so check the date of this review and disregard) However, compared to other places we've stayed in Princeville, this place was very affordable, and the management really goes the extra mile to check in with you, see if there's anything you need, and makes it very clear how to contact them. If you've never been to Princeville/Hanalei, you're in for an absolute treat! Make sure you make reservations for Ke'e Beach AHEAD OF TIME... they don't let you just drive up anymore.

Cute little room, perfect for a cheaper stay in Princeville. Great experience overall. My only complaint is that I wish the the curtains blocked the outside a little more. Would definitely book again if I ever make it back to Kauai.

This place was in a great location. I really don’t have many complained/concerns. One thing was the questionable privacy. The two curtains on the slider window didn’t fit so the position needed to be adjusted with hopes that no one could see in. The other window had no curtain just shades which need replacing (broken and didn’t completely close). Also, kitchenette lighting is very scarce. I’d suggest under mounted lighting that actually works. The small ones which were already there did not work. Aside from this, I would not hesitate to book again!!

I was here for an extended stay. It does not have a washer and dryer on property but otherwise perfectly apportioned for a crash pad close to the beach and amenities. Clean, and as listed! Would recommend.

Place was great and comfortable, the only thing they can improve is the flexibility with the check out time

We had a great time, and loved the whole island, but are very glad we stayed in Princeville. The Sandpiper complex is very well laid out and the pool with barbecue and jaccuzzi were a bonus. Our appartment was small but clean and had everything we needed and we hope to come back again some time.

The unit was clean, breezy, and never humid or sticky. It was nice to be able to come home and watch tv after being outside in the sun and/or rain all day.

We did spend good time in Kauai, did not spend too much in the complex. Nice pool and bbq access. We're also have access to 4 beach chairs, sun umbrella, palm/ mask/ tuba, just for our room. Great news no rooster in the area. Bad news, road after hanalei is closed going west (April 2019 still). Princeville is not a great place if you visit all the island because traffic at kapaa is so bad.

The accomodations were cozy and clean. Multiple kitchen items available for use (microwave, hot plate, croc pot) as well as the grill. The bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was spacious. Overall a very nice place to stay!

Nice place for my wife and I. Had a few extras in the place that was nice to have for our trip i.e. beach chairs, umbrella and body board.
