Clean, comfortable, well stocked, and good location. Our stay was great. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook our meals. Hawi is a nice town with good food and several interesting shops. Definitely not a luxury resort area. The walk to town is short but no sidewalk along a busy street means you need to be careful. Great place to stay, great hosts, and we really enjoyed ourselves.

Betty and Larry are great hosts and their place is immaculate.
They offer all the amenities (kitchen, beach equipment,etc. all in perfect condition) you can imagine and then some.

Everything about this place was wonderful, but the highlight was the hosts. Meeting them and staying here felt like staying with friends. The location is terrific, and the space is great. The location of this house was perfect for our trip, right in the heart of Hawi. The property was peaceful and the house was beautiful and well cared for, Betty & Lawrence really put attention to detail in everything. They were really accommodating, helpful and responsive, all the way from the booking up until check out. They really helped us feel like we were on vacation. Having a peaceful, beautiful home to return to after a long day made our trip to 100% better. Mahalo Betty & Lawrence! We hope to visit Hawi again.

This apartment has a lot of the comforts and conveniences of home. The kitchen has high quality appliances and cookware, plus the hosts were kind enough to give us some excellent local fruit and a few things to snack on when we arrived. The wraparound lanai is wonderful for hanging out - and for morning yoga! The hosts also have a closet full of beach gear that we used - beach chairs as well as snorkel gear and boogie boards. It was great!
The Hawi area is a bit away from the main tourist destinations on the island, but that makes it more relaxing. Highly recommend this place!
I will say, though, that we did not stay here for our entire trip, as it is a bit far from certain things that we wanted to do/see.

This was a great place to stay. It felt quite roomy and open. The kitchen was well equipped, the beds were comfortable. Everything was very clean. While we were there, the temperatures were moderate -- we needed the fans and cross ventilation, and used the air conditioners in the bedroom sometimes, but it was quite comfortable. The hosts were very friendly and helpful, but not intrusive. Hawi is mostly outside the touristy zone, so it's less crowded and more relaxed than say Kona. This was one of the best places I've ever stayed with VRBO.

This VRBO is VERY accurately described on the website. The photos are up to date showing a very clean and well maintained two bedroom rental. The bed mattresses were the most comfortable we have ever had at VRBO’s! The beach towels, beach chairs and snorkeling equipment were top quality and in excellent condition. When we arrived, we found a wonderful assortment of fresh organic fruit, cheese, crackers, fruit drink and Hawaiian beer in our kitchen. After we were settled in, Larry and Betty stopped by for a get acquainted visit and offered helpful advice on activities and locations that matched our vacation goals. A complete assortment of vacation activity brochures as well as local restaurant menus was displayed in our unit. The hosts live just downstairs from the rental, but we had total privacy and found that they were available for additional advice and information when we knocked at their door. The personal attention offered by Larry and Betty made our VRBO experience very positive and memorable. We highly recommend this vacation rental to anyone visiting the Havi community

The hosts, Larry and Betty, are friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. The kitchen is fully stocked with the exception of a microwave, which to weary travelers who wanted to reheat food late at night was a bit of a shock. However we quickly learned to adapt and the oven is too if the line combining convection as well as fryer capabilities, it was a joy to cook! There were fresh fruits and snacks awaiting us, lots of information on things to do and places to see, plus all you need to do is ask either Larry or Betty a question and they'll be happy to help. The closet is full of gear - snorkel, chairs (I need those chaurs, beach towels, etc.), there are games to play, books and magazines to read. One thing that is not within the hosts control is the early morning traffic noise, the ohana is on the main route over Kohala Mountain, so you have truck traffic in the early morning. Hawi is a cute village that's a short walk from the ohana which made for exercise to and from getting early morning smoothie or coffee if you don't want to make your own, in that fully stocked kitchen I mentioned early, I want that oven and refrigerator😁. We had a lovely time and would definitely stay with Larry and Betty again at their ohana. Thanks so much for the jokes, food tips, gardening tips and just being such gracious hosts. Maholo and Aloha!

This is a great location in a laid back community. Hosts are exceptional, the residence is well stocked with anything you may need, the beds are comfy....truly a home away from home. Check in very easy and Betty and Larry keep this place on top top shape. Everything you need to cook, entertain, relax and do what you want in this cool little town. A closet full of everything you need for the beach, very comfortable beds and furniture. The Linai is perfect for early morning or evening dinners. Sad to leave, but we’ll be back!

Thank you, Larry and Betty. We had a wonderful time at the rental in Hawi. We arrived late at night to a fridge with cold beer (thank you), fresh fruit, cheese and crackers. This is the second time I booked this for coworker coming to Hawaii from mainland. They love this place. Larry and Betty are great hosts who are friendly and warm. I highly recommend this place for business or pleasure.

We enjoyed our stay in Hawi. Larry and Betty are such gracious hosts. The local snacks upon arrival was a surprise and very much appreciated. The place is clean, comfortable and very well stocked with everything from spices to snorkel gear. We enjoyed exploring the northern part of the island. It is a bit of a drive to the beaches but it is a beautiful area.

The place was perfect for a quiet getaway with my best friend. It was so serene and away from all of the tourists/resort sites which made it much more peaceful. Betty and Larry were so sweet kind and helpful, will definitely stay again when visiting the big island.

We loved our stay in Hawi at Larry and Betty’s place. It is clean, comfortable, well stocked, and well located. Larry and Betty are welcoming and thoughtful and truly strive to make the travelers experience as easy and enjoyable as possible. They are even considering installing EV charging as Hawi is short on chargers. Amazing!

It was a pleasure dealing with Larry from booking our reservations to our checkout. He was very prompt in answering my emails and questions. The rental itself is very nice, clean and comfortable. The rooms are very spacious and we had everything we needed for our stay. The outdoor lanai is absolutely perfect hanging out. We will definitely use them again and will refer friends. Our family had a great stay in Hawi. The guest house came very well supplied with everything we needed for the many days we spent at the beach, from chairs and umbrellas to snorkels, masks, and fins and boogie boards.
Larry and Betty were great hosts.

We've been to this area of the Big Island for many years. This place is in an excellent location near all that Hawi has to offer. The rental is well maintained and cheerful and bright. We would not hesitate to go here again. In fact we will be back after Christmas!
