This condo was like a home away from home. It had everything we needed for a relaxing and wonderful stay in Hawaii. The view was breathtaking. We enjoyed being able to swim at the beach right there in our backyard. There was construction going on but don’t let that deter you from booking this place. It was just what we had hoped it’d be!

My wife and i celebrated our ten year anniversary at Pat's place on Oahu. The location was perfect, i couldnt say enough about it. The beach is private and probably at least 1/4 mile long, the lawn is immaculate and quiet, the gym has free weights including an olympic bar bell and a great pull up bar (this was a big deal for us, usually the gym areas are just machines), the condo itself has cieling fans everywhere so the lack of central cooling was not as noticeable as i thought it would be. We could hear the construction during the day but it turned out to be fine. My only critique is the brightness of the master bedroom at night, and the heat in that room. To maintain a breeze we had to keep the window open, and since that opens to the outside entry way where the lights are always on, it was bright. If you close it, its still too bright and quite warm. We ended up covering the window with a sheet while keeping it partly open, and using ear plugs and eye masks, and with some added melatonin this worked well. Its 5 miles to the grocery store, there are a few small shops nearby, however the food trucks close between 4 and 5pm, which was suprising. Farther north we found everything we needed. The condo was well stocked with books and after a while we figured out the tv (use the tubi app to watch most things, it worked the best). We loved this location and would absolutely come again!

Really good value—that is, the entire facility has a wonderful location, right on the beach with decent snorkeling just steps away. But overall the place is rather “tired”—showing it’s age. And this is probably reflected in the price. We had a great stay.

This was a great place to stay as there are many beautiful beaches and sites on this side of the island and close to the north shore. The owner was very responsive with any needs and questions. Affordable place in a more remote location away from crowds and busy-Ness. The bedroom was hot but sleeping on the pull-out couch in the living room was very pleasant. The property is under construction but we were gone during the day and we're not bothered by it. Quiet I evenings and on weekends. Overall a great place!

We were seriously disappointed with the misleading description aabout the condition of the building. First off, the condo itself is very nice, spacious, clean, well appointed, and of course a great ocean view. The owner was great with communication, kind, and took care of some minor problems upon arrival, HOWEVER the host building is a construction zone nightmare. The entire front of the property is torn up with piles of construction materials, giving it a very gross & dirty feel, often stinking of sewage. The elevator was plywood & duct tape. The entire east end of the grounds was blocked with orange construction barriers, destroying any resort feel. Chunks of missing concrete, peeling paint & rust all over. I mainly booked this property for the uniqueness of an oceanside pool & guess what... the pool was closed the entire trip. I feel angered and misled about the lack of an honest description about the condition of the property as it currently is. When the building is finished, this would be a nice place to stay with a 4 star rating, but now, I'd stay away.

If you are not an early riser, the roosters are happy to wake you up. Traffic can be a challenge so give yourself plenty of time to get where you need to be. A rental car is a necessity. The property was what we expected. Right on the beach in a rural area of the island. The property was older and had significant maintenance repairs in progress, which was communicated to us in the listing. We spent most of our days touring the island so the construction noise didn't bother us. The semi-private beach where the property was located has sea turtles coming to rest before sunrise every, which we very much enjoyed. The unit kitchen facilities were outdated but clean, which we were perfectly happy with.
The only negative thing about the trip was the toilet in the unit stopped working on our 3rd day there, and it did not get fixed until 4 days later. I notified the property manager several times over that time period but the toilet did not get fixed until I escalated it with VRBO. Once I did that, the toilet was fixed within an hour.
The toilet issue seemed to be related to the ongoing maintenance of the building, which had not reached our unit yet(eg replacement of building plumbing drains). The maintenance schedule I saw said the work for our unit would be completed in the Fall of 2022, so hopefully future tenants won't come across the same issue.
Other than the toilet issue, it was an enjoyable stay.

This was truly one of my favorite rental experiences ever. The condo is an absolute gem. The layout is perfect with a large bedroom, washer / dryer, access to the small gym, pool, fully stocked kitchen, a closet full of beach items, spacious living room and stunning ocean views. It’s worth getting up early in the morning to see the sunrise over the ocean. Gorgeous, clean and swimmable beach. Betty’s communication was great. We appreciated the detailed emails with info on the check-in process, parking and suggestions for nearby restaurants / shopping, etc. I highly recommend this condo and plan to be back!

The location of this rental is fantastic. We were looking for an area away from the hustle and bustle of Honolulu. This was the perfect spot. Still close to amenities and services, but without the crowds. The beach was great, with the reef protecting the area from strong currents. The condo had all the things we needed and was very comfortable. The hosts were extremely helpful. This was a great place to stay for a small family.

The unit had a great view from the balcony, was spacious and clean. This was our first dealings with a rental unit so we didn't know what to expect. It was fully furnished with a very nice kitchen and plenty of pots, pans, dishes etcetera (but we didn't cook). The owners provided toilet paper and paper towels which we found out later isn't usual. The only drawbacks were that the bed was a bit hard for two old folks and there was no air conditioning. There is a great breeze when you open the front door and the balcony door though.
Ceiling fans are in each room and there are really nice fans in the bedroom and bathroom. A small washer and dryer are included in the unit -- I would suggest closing the door to the laundry when washing and drying. Overall, it was a pleasant experience.

It was all about the location. This property is (50 feet from the beach). We swam with the turtles and enjoyed dining on the lanai. While being on Oahu for one week we only put 360 miles on our rental car so all activities and shopping are close by yet this condo was very quiet and slow paced. Great find!

We loved watching the sunrise and sea turtles from our lanai every morning! Elizabeth gave great detailed information and communicated quickly. The lacy ion is great however the condo is in need of an update. The bedroom pocket door doesn’t open easily and the mattresses were very worn. It’s not luxury but still a nice place to stay. Also a side note...There is construction outside the building but both elevators were working by the time we left and they started work after quiet hours.

The property was very nice and clean. However the 2 boogie boards were busted and the lone beach chair was all rusted. The frig is not connected to water so no filtered water or ice machine. The view is spectacular and the beach and sand beautiful. We emptied the garbage daily to avoid any bugs. Would definitely rent here again

This condo was awesome! Tons of room for my wife and I, well furnished, and super comfortable. Best part was, we were far away from Waikiki!! The north shore is beautiful. Sun rises were amazing. This condo is right on the beach. Snorkeling and playing in the sand was fun.
Nights come early so we brought our Roku to watch a show at the end of a good day. Grocery shopping and food options were just 10 minutes up the road in Laie. A short drive around the north tip of the island gives you even more beach options.

We had a great view of sunrises from our balcony! The parking permit was missing and I messaged the owner, but not response even though there was a lot of communication leading up to the stay. But security knew our issues and was cool. The main bedroom door wouldn’t close and the dishwasher was broken. But overall we really enjoyed our stay! The residents were respectful of quiet times and the groundskeepers were so kind. I’d still come back :)

Elizabeths place was so convenient to so many of the things we wanted to do. One of our favorite things was the private beach and the reed protected water. We loved snorkeling and swimming there. It was a gorgeous beach view from the condo which was awesome. Elizabeth communicated with us really well and was always quick to answer our questions. Hate to write a good review only because it was so great dont want it booked up next time we are able to visit. Location was the best and exactly what we wanted for our first trip to Oahu and just cant say all the great things about our stay. Cant wait to be back. Sure you could nit pick on the no ac in the condos but when everything else was great me and my wife just didnt feel the need to let this cause anything negative its just the humidity of hawaii but being able to enjoy our coffee on the patio watching the ocean just cant compare to anything.

Betty was great to work with, she was more than helpful and very sweet. Our stay was more than we expected and will definitely be staying there again. The views are beautiful, condo is super cute, comfortable and very clean. They basically provide everything you can possibly need for the beach so that was a huge plus! My Husband and I stayed there with our 3 kids and we had plenty of room. Very quite location, away from the crowds and clear beautiful beach waters all to ourselves. Highly, highly recommend, you will not regret booking with them!!!

I did my research and found this condo through VRBO, we wanted something Ocean front and on the North Shore. The building is old but the Condo beautifully redone, very comfortable and the view is AWESOME! the beach below is very user friendly ( wish I had of brought my 5yr old grandson ) Very Pleased, no complaints.

We have stayed in this area before, and we love it. It's away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki and Hololulu, and is truly relaxing. There are plenty of things to do nearby on the Winward Coast and the North Shore. The condo was fantastic! Clean, comfortable, and everything you need to spend time on the beach, cook meals, and relax. The condo is in the building known as Pat's at Punaluu, with parking, security, and a great grounds crew to keep it nice. We watched the sunrise from the lanai. The beach is great for swimming and snorkeling. Grocery stores and restaurants are near by, and there are more great places to eat than when we were there 2 years ago. I would definitely recommend it for a couple of a family.

This was our first time to O'ahu, and we wanted a quiet ocean front stay without paying an arm and a leg. We chose to stay at this condo for a week, and it was one of our favorite vacations ever. What makes it nice is its far enough away from Waikiki that it's not crowded and doesn't have bad traffic--two things we wanted to avoid while vacationing. It's also super close to the Polynesian Cultural Center, Kualoa Ranch (awesome movie site/jungle tours), and awesome beaches. The condo itself is updated and clean, has a great view of the ocean, and was comfortable. Be aware that it doesn't have A/C, but the leaving the windows open and running the fans kept us cool. The building itself is older, but it is well maintained. Arranging the stay itself was pretty simple and painless--the owners are nice and easy to work with. Overall, we had a wonderful vacation and it was very nice to come back to a clean and quiet condo every night, a condo that was out of the hustle of Honolulu.

My husband, I and 15 yr old teenager stayed in Betty's condo in "Pat's at Punaluu" from March 3-8, 2016. My husband and I have been to Hawaii, and Oahu, several times; first HI trip for my nephew. We stayed in Honolulu three days so he could "experience" Waikiki, tour Diamond Head, Pearl Harbor and such; but we prefer the real Hawaii experience not found in Waikiki. This was our first stay in #614 (and at Pat's at Punaluu). First impressions, "This is very nice", "Look at the ocean!", "This kitchen is great"... Teen was excited to see the pool right under the condo lanai (balcony) and the beach just steps away. Ample dresser draws in the one bedroom for storage. While unpacking, I noticed wifi was not connecting and sent Betty a text; she responded within about 30 minutes; but I had already found the switch "off" on the wifi box was resolved the issue myself). Wifi was reliable and adequate speed to video chat with family on the Mainland. Appreciated paper plates and napkins in the condo, although we used really dishes most of the time. Appreciated the array of pots, pans and utensils for cooking! They guys appreciated the array of water toys there to use for free; they snorkeled each day! The shore in front of the condo was always clean, and the water was calm and crystal clear! (In comparison , went to Turtle Bay Resort beach one day and the water was too cloudy from the churning waves to see anything.) Spent every morning watching the sun rise from the lanai or walking along the beach (only a few people out there, so it was peaceful). Each day we watched whales playing outside the reef. No air conditioning unit but the breeze coming in the patio door during the day and coming from the bedroom window (mountain side) at night made the condo comfortable enough. My nephew slept on the pull out trundle bed, he found this very comfortable. The bedroom king bed was comfy as well. Washing machine/dryer a real plus; we packed light (only brought a backpack each!) It really was a great stay. Only cons: Bedroom noisy with rush hour traffic starting at 5am and roosters crowing with windows panels open; but can get hot in bedroom at night unless panels are open for airflow; so choose between noise or cool air. Washer tight to get into. Bathroom towel rod needs attention (kept falling down). Living room wicker-type mat hard on feet. Too many artificial plants blocking views in condo. But all considered - we would stay in Betty's 614 again and recommend friends!

This was my third stay at Pat's at Punaluu and my second in one of Betty's condos. When we are lucky enough to return, we will definitely book into this unit again. The pictures don't do it justice. Betty is extremely quick to respond to any issues and very accommodating, which is exactly what you want from your host.
I love this property. They are very focused on peace and quiet, with signs requesting such at every turn. Sigh. The property is very clean and you always see people working hard around the grounds and building.
The condo itself is fantastic. The bedroom is spacious, with room to really settle in. I love to cook and the kitchen is ideal with its island and beautiful granite countertops. I spent a lot of time on the lanai listening to the waves, painting, taking photos of the incomparable sunrises, and viewing humpback whales through the binoculars that Betty provided.
The sandy beach is so lovely to walk along as the sunrise breaks on the horizon. The waves are never to big here as there is a natural reef about 1 km out from shore. Although the water tends to be a bit cloudy and a moderate south-north current is usually present, there are a lot of fish to see. While out snorkelling, I was lucky enough to get to swim with and observe a large Honu (Green Sea Turtle) right out from the condo.
As it gets dark early in the Islands we appreciated the HUGE tv in the living room as well as the board games provided.
I was without a car for several days this time and "The Bus" stops right outside. It is easy to use and inexpensive.
Be sure to make the 2 minute walk down the highway (on the other side) to Kaya's Store. They have a bit of everything, a true convenience store. In the back corner is 2 Bald Guys. An absolute must is their fresh catch on salad, but everything is "Ono" there. Outside is Coconut Joe, where you can get an icy coconut, smoothies, or fresh fruit.
We love going to the big Farmers' Market (twice a week) at the Windward Mall in Kaneohe for all of our food. Safeway is right across the street, and Foodland is nearby. There is also a Foodland in Laie.
Betty provides all of the valuable information that you will need on things to do and see. The condo is stocked with tons of equipment as well. From boogie boards & snorkel sets to a cooler & beach chairs.
We couldn't have wished for anything more. We are certain that if you choose to vacation in this condo, you will not be disappointed.

Perfect place to get away from the city. Beautiful location perfect beach for kids and relaxing swimming and perfect sand for walking/running on the beach. Location was good as it was in the middle of about anywhere you would want to go. Always a calm beautiful place to come home to after a day of activities. Well furnished, clean, and comfortable! Make sure to wake up and watch the beautiful sunrises and let the kids chase after the sand crabs. Owners gave great and perfect information and we didn't need to call them once.

We stayed at 614, Pat's at Punaluu, and had a wonderful time. The building is very well maintained, and the condo is clean, comfortable, and very well equipped. The kitchen has plenty of up-scale appliances, and the furnishings are in great shape. Given that the north end of the island is where the big waves are, we were happy to find that the water in front of the condo is protected by a reef and that the swimming and snorkeling were wonderful. The area is non-touristy--the nearest big resort hotel is Turtle Bay, about 10 miles away. There is some snorkeling gear at the condo, so I would recommend checking it out before renting or buying stuff. There is a Sports Authority in the shopping center across the road from Safeway if you find that you still need some equipment. Betty was very responsive to emails and provides a lot of information about the area. Our nine days in the condo were a pleasure, and we would not think twice about renting the place again.

Great place and Betty was AMAZING! This rental had everything we wanted: an oceanview with a swimmable and safe beach for our 2 young children, a pool and to be able to fall asleep listening to the waves. This place had everything and was super clean! We will def rent this unit again....thanks, Betty!
