This house is a home, very cozy, well kept, and very clean. We loved it, property manager was very good in communication. The only thing that was not represented well was the walk to the beach, it was stated 150 steps, and you could not do that had to walk to the end of the block and down. Loved it enough to stay there again.

We spent 9 days in this property and it was perfect for our needs, which included two couples. The house was impeccably clean and the kitchen was very stocked with all the utensils, pans, and dishes you could need. We very much appreciated the grill and the washer and dryer. There were ample fluffy bathroom and beach towels. We used the beach chairs and cooler many times. We spent a lot of time on the front porch, and there is a direct ocean view as the school's playground is right in front of the house. There's a small beach about 100 steps away, and the Kekaha Beach Park is just about a mile away and was a great close beach.
We enjoyed the small town location. There are several restaurants just 5 minutes away in Waimea, although only two that are open for supper.
We would absolutely stay here again.

This property is wonderful! Exactly as advertised, super clean, well-stocked....perfect. We used the Tommy Bahama sand chairs, umbrella and cooler every day. Kitchen has wonderful knives, pans, dishes, and there are fluffy soft towels throughout the house. Washer/dryer with detergent and dryer sheets provided were extremely useful given our 10 days, the Kauai humidity and days at the beach. We even used the clothesline. All the cleaning supplies and spices/condiments were appreciated There was even small amounts of sun screen and aloe left in the laundry area, which we really appreciated. There is a nice Weber BBQ for grilling. They have truly thought of everything! The front bedroom does NOT have air conditioning, so sleeping with that door open is almost required, but all bedrooms, living room and dining room have super nice ceiling fans that work great! WE LOVED OUR STAY!

Loved the cottage itself. Neighbors were great especially Lala the furry friend. Kitchen was well stocked (except for measuring cups🙂🙂), felt like the appliances were brand new, knives were sharp. The kitchen both a drip coffee maker and a bodum which fit our needs perfectly. The stove did not have an exhaust fan. The bedroom with the day was needed drawer storage and a small table. Master bedroom was great enough storage. Plenty of hangers! Just a personal preference but the shower heads would have been easier if it was a fixed shower head. Cottage itself was wonderful. The air conditioning units and were strategically placed. They worked fine and was sufficient to cool the whole house. Loved the ceiling fans. We liked being able to walk across the street to the water. Enjoyed sitting out on the porch. Enjoyed having washer/dryer. Property manager was easy to work with. Left clear instructions and utilized the books about Kauai. They were very helpful. Chicken Barrel was a fun place to eat and hang out. Loved Jojo’s shaved ice. We went there twice!!! Market is also close by. We even went to a farmers market by the community college to get fresh vegetables! We explored the entire island and did 4 hikes! Poipu was our favorite because we were able to see the sea turtles come to rest at dusk!

I explicitly stated that I needed a place that was accessible. I knew there were stairs in the front but I thought the back led directly into the house. And I thought there were only 3 stairs in the front. Turns out there were 6 stairs in the front and back which made getting in and out of the house almost impossible. Perhaps this was a misunderstanding on the part of the broker but it seriously affected my stay. I also thought the photos were deceiving and made the beach and ocean appear a lot closer than it actually was. The house was clean and pleasant but my trip was ruined because of the accessibility issue.

Lots of places to visit on the South end of the island and the sunsets were easily seen from the Hwy. There was three of us but plenty of room for 6. Will consider renting this cottage again in the future.

The open layout provided space to eat, play games, and relax together. With three bedrooms, the common area space, and outdoor seating on the lanai, everyone had a place to retreat on their own.

We’ve been lucky enough to stay here twice and both times have been truly amazing.
Most recently our family of 4 with two younger kids stayed 8 nights. Everything from pre trip questions, to check in, to the place itself was everything you could ask for. The host is extremely responsive and helpful. The house is fully stocked with every possible accessory. We especially appreciated the pac n play for babies to sleep in. We can’t go back soon enough!

We started our stay in Princeville and ended it in Kekaha. We definitely prefer the south end of the island. It is a lot more laid back, warmer and definitely drier. The house is cute and cozy ❤️. There are AC wall units in two of the 3 bedrooms and one in the living room; they work great! The beds are comfy, there's plenty of towels and extra gear for the beach (coolers, beach chairs, umbrellas, toys, snorkeling gear, body boards etc.). Two things I'd suggest to the home owner is: update the master bath. It is outdated and the tub is peeling and desperately needs replaced. The main bath is in better shape. Second, think about providing small dressers in the bed rooms. We used the TV stand in the master, but when you are staying for any length of time it is nice to have a place to put your folded cloths. Otherwise, great stay for us, this is the 2nd time we've rented a house where Scott was the host. Lastly, the listing needs to be changed to reflect the actual check in time, it's 4pm, not 3pm.

It was super chill...mostly locals. The view is somewhat obstructed with a church or school infront of the house. You can see the ocean in the distance when standing on the left side of the porch. Otherwise great place with everything you need! You must have a car as nothing is walking distance.

The smallest bedroom does not have an A/C unit, but a floor fan in addition to ceiling fan. I recommend keeping all the rooms open so the cool air is shared throughout the living space.
The document on the counter directed us to contact an on-island property manager. We noticed two broken fixtures and communicated them to the manager. We received a response that the fixtures are noted. When a toilet clogged and the onsite plunger was ineffective, we did not receive a response to our commmunication. We went to the nearby grocery for supplies and corrected the toilet ourselves. A little hiccup in a big week.

The property was exactly as promised and the kitchen had a good amount of cookware so we could cook and eat healthy meals all week. We went on a fishing trip out of Eleele and came back with Ahi for several days and had the perfect place to cook and enjoy. Our son and his girlfriend joined us for a few days and having two bathrooms was a lovely convenience. I enjoyed the fact that it was away from Lihue traffic, but not too far to the airport and other beaches and amenities in that area.
Waimea Canyon is astounding! One of the most beautiful things I've ever seen and it is so close to the house we went up easily by car to explore different hikes.
The property owner provided so much information and left cool books in the home for our use! We snorkeled at several beaches and hiked and really had an amazing time!

We used the beach towels/supplies a lot and the hiking poles came in clutch during our hike on the Na Pali Coast because of mud. Great access to Waimea Canyon for hikers. If you are booking tours, make sure you do your research about the location and drive times, as this house is located at the extreme end of the island and there is no loop road. I personally enjoyed the more remote location, but some in my group would have preferred to be nearer to larger cities and tourist attractions. The location is not touristy and you are directly next to a school. I expected more noise during school hours but it was not bad at all. The school does somewhat inhibit the view of the ocean. Neighborhood was quiet but there are some loud barking dogs and roosters, which should be expected, but members in my group had a difficult time sleeping because of the animal noise. We had two rental cars and parking was OK. We couldn't fit both cars in the driveway since the property owner has a vehicle parked there, but there is some parking in front of the house. Overall, the house was great and I would recommend for travelers looking for a quiet/non touristy stay or for hikers/outdoor adventurers looking to hike in Waimea Canyon area or explore lesser known beaches. Also some great local food in Hanapepe and Waimea.

Kekaha is the perfect place to stay in Kauai and this was the perfect house in Kekaha. It is far enough away from all the touristy attractions, where you are not overwhelmed with people, but it is close enough to get to some of the best places on the island like Waimea canyon and Poipu Beach. Everything you need for essentials for the home or a couple miles away in the town of Waimea.

The home is extremely clean, and the beds are very comfortable, and the whole house is just amazing. While we only had the two of us on this trip, this home is big enough to be comfortable for six people

Kekaha is the perfect place to stay in Kauai and this was the perfect house in Kekaha. It is far enough away from all the touristy attractions, where you are not overwhelmed with people, but it is close enough to get to some of the best places on the island like Waimea canyon and Poipu Beach. This cottage was perfect for my husband and I, and my parents and brother! It’s in more of a residential neighborhood so it’s more on the quiet side which we liked. The walk to the beach is only about a block away. Loved walking down in the early morning and watching the waves crash against the rocks. My mom really enjoyed having her coffee every morning on the lanai. We found some excellent, authentic food in Waimea, less than 10 mins drive from the cottage. Island taco, a short drive down the road, was delicious! The cottage looked even better than in the pictures. It was clean, and the AC kept it nice and cool. The king bed in the master was comfortable. The kitchen had everything you would possibly need to make food at the cottage. The beach chairs, boogie boards, and umbrellas were perfect for our day at Polihale state park. We had a wonderful time on this beautiful island and would definitely stay here again!

They were beautiful flowers and trees on the property. It was stocked with everything we needed to enjoy the trip: chairs, coolers, beach towels...
We love the out of the way location! Each night and morning we could walk across the street to the beach and be the only ones there. The sunsets were unbelievable! The stars at night were breathtaking! Even though we had to drive to the South shore for a lot of our activities, we were always excited to come back home to our little house.
We will definitely come back in the future! It was nice to discover that there are quite a few activities that leave out of small harbor and Port Allen. Next time I will book more of our fun things there rather than driving down south.

This cottage was perfect for my husband and I, and my parents and brother! It’s in more of a residential neighborhood so it’s more on the quiet side which we liked. The walk to the beach is only about a block away. Loved walking down in the early morning and watching the waves crash against the rocks. My family loved the house we stayed in. I cannot express enough how we enjoyed our stay at Kekaha. The home provided plenty of amenities for our stay.
Such a beautiful home, close to the beach and next to a church. I witnessed a wedding reception. Locals were very friendly and the neighborhood was quiet.
We stayed at Kekaha the first week then at Princeville the second week. I actually missed Kekaha, it had the pono vibes, so relaxing.
If rerurning to Kauai, i would definitely stay here again!!

We loved the cottage. This was a family gathering to visit my daughter who lives on the island. There were 6 of us. There was plenty of room. The kitchen was stocked with all our needs for cooking meals. Plenty of towels, beach and bath. There were 6 chairs for the beach which was a fantastic perk. The location was perfect for us. We could walk to the beach for sunsets yet never too far away for many different adventures. My daughter showed us so many wonderful things to do which only scratched the surface.
Scott was wonderful to work with. The original date was 2020. Due to Covid we had to reschedule the trip twice . Scott made it a seamless transition. Needless to say we all want to come back!!!

My family enjoyed staying here for the first 4 nights of our stay. My thought it would be a great place for our family of 4 to stay while exploring the Waimea Canyon. I’d been to Kauai and this part of the island before. It is not as touristy as other parts of the island. It worked great; although this part of the island gets very little rain, it just happened to rain for our first few days. That was fine as the cost per day here was 1/3 the price we paid later in the trip at the Marriott Waiohai in Poipu. The property was great for our family of 4. I got up early and watched the ocean (about 150 yards or so away between a church and a school, visible and audible) and had coffee. Since I came from the U.S. mainland, getting up early the first few days was natural. We were all tired and not interested in dinner by 6 PM the first few days and spending this time here where it was less expensive worked great. Besides the Waimea Canyon, which we explored three times, we went to the long Western beach that is about a mile to the West of the house several times. It’s a wonderful beach with almost no tourists and a few locals. I walked about 2 miles down, to the Pacific Missile Range and back, and came across almost no one. We also took a Napali coast cruise from Waimea town. It was pretty bumpy on the water. I’d recommend a trimaran cruise from thre Princeville area instead for a smoother ride and more time looking at the Napali coast, and less time getting there. The house is just a few miles from Waimea, which has grocery stores and several casual food options. The beds are decent, but the master mattress in my opinion needs a new mattress topper. I recall the description indicating that the master King bed had a memory foam topper. It has a topper but it is so thin at this point that it is unable to add any comfort. Bed was still better than the Marriott. I am picky about mattresses and all our beds are TempurPedic. My son who slept in the 2nd bedroom had no complaints about the bed, nor did my daughter in the small bedroom. Bathrooms were fine. Kitchen was perfect for our needs as was the kitchen and living room. Did not ever really turn on the TV, we were too sleepy by 8 PM or so. There’s a nice new Weber grill. I didn’t use it but will next time. Plenty of beach equipment, chairs, umbrellas, etc. Neighborhood is blue collar, not a problem, but be prepared for a front yard that’s a mess a few doors down.

This house is a great location, especially if you are looking for spending a lot of time at the canyon and being amongst the working class. The house was great and as advertised -- very clean and comfortable. My family had an incredible vacation in Kauai and, all agreed, a big part of that is where we stayed. The Blue Lotus Cottage was clean, in a great location, and met all our needs. In the evenings all we could really hear when on the front deck was the crashing of the waves across the street. We were close to Waimea Canyon, great hiking, Hanapepe, and Waimea (where we went more than once for JoJo's shaved ice!), and Poipu Beach. It was only 1.5 hours from the north side of the island and Hanalei. There was plenty of beach equipment to use, lots of room inside, and both the owner and property manager were very responsive and great to work with. We highly recommend this property!

This place is so close to the beach so we enjoyed the sunset almost every night during our stay. Beach towels, boogie boards, and beach chairs were provided. One minor issue we had was the neighbor to the left had a dog that would bark non stop one night. But overall this place is spacious, air conditioning kept the place nice and cool, and cleaned. We absolutely loved all the plumeria flowers around the property. We enjoyed coffee and watching the waves on the lanai every morning/evening. This house is perfect! Would definitely rent this place again.

This Home is Fabulous! It has everything you'd ever want in a Vacation Home. Air conditioning, big fluffy towels, extremely comfortable beds and it is Right Across from one of the Best Beaches on Earth. We were here when the Hawaii Ballistic Missile Crisis happened( on our daughter's wedding day!), but even that could not detract from the Beauty and Tranquility this Home offers. It is located in sleepy Kekaha and I would recommend this side of the Island to anyone. Some would say it is too far away from Lahui/Kapaa/Princeville, but I found it to be the perfect setting for our 10 days here. The neighbors were sweet and charming, the Church/School in front was darling and friendly and the House was Perfect. We have stayed in many, many vacation Homes but this Home was and is our favorite so far.
We like to take a picture of Dad with us on our vacations( he is in Heaven!), so that he too can enjoy Paradise, well this time I forgot to pack Dad away when we left and Scott, the Owner, sent it to me in the mail! Thank you Scott for Rescuing Dad, we like to think he let us forget him on pupose so that he could stay extra long at the Blue Lotus Cottage. Thank you Scott, we will never forget your extra Kindness and we will never, ever forget the Blue Lotus House. It was the Best!! Mahalo

We stayed for 5 nights and wished it could have been longer! Blue Lotus is only a short walk to an an expansive, sandy beach, which you can see from the porch. The house was roomy, comfortable and well-equipped with kitchen and beach supplies. We especially appreciated the beach umbrellas and ample supply of beach towels. The decor, with beautiful island paintings and photos on the walls, wooden floors, and the charming, unique furniture "with Hawaiian vibes" per my daughter, made our inside time a pleasure.
The washer and dryer were very handy and the porch was an inviting place to relax. The carport made it easy to move our stuff back and forth from the jeep. The outdoor shower was great for after-beach rinsing of ourselves and snorkeling equipment. Although it has air conditioners, we found that nights were always cool enough not to need them. My wife and daughter appreciated the plumeria trees in the yard, allowing them to put sweetly-scented, fresh flowers in their hair every day. The location was ideal for us, close to Waimea Canyon, the beautiful wild beaches of the Western shore, and just a short hop to the harbor terminal for exploring the Nepali coastline. The night skies were amazing for stargazing. We prefer to stay in a relatively non-touristy area and this suited our needs very well. Our host, Scott, was easily accessible, gracious, and accommodating. I highly recommend Blue Lotus.

We stayed for 3 weeks in this very clean, comfortable house. It was very well equipped with everything you would want to make you feel at home. Easy walk to one of the best beaches in Hawaii. Great place to experience a relaxing Hawaiian get away and have easy access to Polihale, Na Pali Tours and Waimea Canyon.

We stayed at the Blue Lotus cottage with 3 adult sons and 1 girlfriend for 11 days at Christmas. We especially appreciated all the needed supplies for a day on the beach or exploring the island. We used the coolers everyday to pack a lunch for our adventures and the beach chairs, umbrella, beach mats and football were great for the beach! The place was very clean and had everything we needed. The kitchen was well stocked with supplies, spices, condiments and even a "junk drawer" where we found needle and thread, post it notes, and pen and paper for keeping score. We used the BBQ, made cookies with the cookie sheets, and packed sandwiches and snacks in the reusable containers for our picnics. We enjoyed breakfast on the front porch, walked the block to the beach to watch the sunset most nights, and enjoyed games at the table after dinner. Thanks for a warm, wonderful Christmas! Lights on the palm tree in living room was festive touch!! We would come again.

The Blue Lotus was as advertised and we enjoyed a wonderful week. After staying here for the first week, than going to Princeville, we wished we would have stayed the whole 2 weeks right here. The house was spotless and had everything you could think of. Loved the outdoor shower and the clothes line to hang your suits. Walking across the smooth grass to the beach for a beautiful sunset and a cold beverage was a perfect way to end the day. One day we were just sitting on the comfortable front chairs, enjoying a great breeze when a gentleman came by on a horse, he stopped and talked for a while just making sure everything was good, just being friendly, and that the way this side of the Island is. Loved every moment of our stay.

The Blue Lotus is the place to stay. VERY CLEAN AND PERFECT. The house had everything, the rooms were perfect, the kitchen, laundry room, beach stuff, grill, table & chairs and even an outside shower to rinse off after the beach. For a nice sunset view you much sit outside on the porch with your cocktails beautiful. All you need is your personal items and food. It was the perfect place to stay and mins. away from the Race Track in Mana where we were going to for the 4th of July races. I wanted to thank Mr. Worner for making everything very simple and for his prompt responds. We love this place and will be back in September 2015. I highly recommend staying here.

This review is long overdue - we stayed at Blue Lotus in June 2014. It is not always feasible for a family of five to stay at a hotel, so we always look for house that can accommodate all of us, provide a kitchen, laundry and all the necessities of home. Blue Lotus was the PERFECT place for us.
Situated on the western - and quiet - side of the island, the house was clean, stocked, and ready for my family. We took advantage of the grill each night, and we also appreciated the beach gear in the laundry room (snorkels, boogie boards and beach chairs) - that was a great bonus.
Scott was very helpful in booking the trip - always followed-up and made sure we were set. The handyman, Alan, checked-in with us, and brought native coconuts from a nearby tree. Also gave us lesson on how to open! I cannot recommend this house, and the staff, enough. Thank you all for great stay.
The best find in the house - a well-worn Kauai visitor’s guidebook. The book lead us to many “hidden gems” on the islands. Hikes to local secret trails that led us to hidden falls. That was a great adventure! Each day we took our rental car and headed out other spots on the island. We frequented Koloa and Poipu throughout the week. You can easily make it all the way to Hanalei Bay for a full day trip, hitting sights along the way.

The rooms are very clean and extremely comfortable. If you are looking to sit on the beach, relax and watch the sunset every night, this is the perfect rental. It is a short, one block walk, and your feet are already in the sand! I have been to Kauai on 3 different trips and this location is the best. Completely away from the road noise and crowds on the east side. It is also super close to either road up to Waimea Canyon and the Kalalau Valley lookout. If it is cloudy one day, you can just drive up again the next!! This house has EVERYTHING, down to a cheese grater and ice cream scoop. (which we used every day!) Unlike most rentals that do not have more than 4 forks. Washer, dryer, clothes line, grill, beach towels and chairs…the list goes on and on and on. Cannot wait to rent this one again!!!
