The sunsets were amazing everynight and it was so nice to be able to walk to Hideaway Beach. Be prepared for the trek to the beach, its an adventure. The condo does have several beach towels and a beach chair. Unfortunately, this condo needs some TLC. There were no cleaning supplies, not even a broom and dust pan. We had to buy our own hand soap. The kitchen only had 7 forks and 2 kitchen towels. We had several things break during our stay that had to be fixed. I would recommend a condo starting on the second floor because people were consistently walking by our window and looking in. The location was nice. Its at least a 40 minute drive to Lihue and 15 minutes to Hanalei.

Stayed with my wife and 2 teenagers. The location is perfectly placed with unbelievable sunsets out the front living room and close walking distance to Hideaway Beach below. The unit had a new washer/dryer. The property manager Lori was super helpful and accommodating. The bed sheets were really comfortable. Plenty of extra towels and blankets available. The AC works great making the whole indoors refreshing after a day in the sun. Highly recommended!

The condo was great...well maintained, clean, awesome view and the location was excellent if you want to stay on the north side. We had a serious issue, however. During our stay, construction was ongoing in other units at this complex. Even though we notified workers who were working on the unit directly above that we were sitting outside on the grass patio area, they failed to secure building materials. A 10 ft. long aluminum wall/roof cap that had been removed blew off the upper deck and landed where we had been sitting only minutes earlier. It actually fell in the exact spot where my wife had been sitting and it would have hit her in the head had she not luckily just gone inside. When we complained to the construction workers they became belligerent, threatened us and told us that we did not belong on the island. We almost had to call the police. The property host was apologetic and notified the condo president. He, however, was more concerned with upsetting the staff. He stunningly told us that we should have known better than to sit outside with construction going on. He defended the irresponsible workers and said that the wall cap was aluminum so it wasn't that heavy and would not have caused serious injury. Incredulous! A 10 ft. piece of aluminum dropping 10 ft. on someone's head? The next day security measures were taken by partially cordoned off our patio area with cones, etc. so we could not sit directly outside of the unit. Needless to say, this experience soured our stay. The property host is not to blame for the careless and obnoxious workers, or for the pompous condo president, but full disclosure of the situation should have been given. We would not have booked this property if we knew about the construction directly above the unit. Apart from the construction, we would definitely book this property again. The AC's worked well, the unit was spacious and comfortable, and the telescope was a nice amenity. We actually saw a whale in the ocean below. My one suggestion for the unit and warning to other guests... the privacy screen outside the master bedroom is not fully effective and should be upgraded. You can actually see through the screen, especially when lights are on. If you want full privacy in the master bedroom, you need to keep all of your lights off or make sure everyone else in the condo is sleeping.

This place is truly amazing - you are right on top of a cliff overlooking the ocean. There is a steep trail on the side of the property that takes you down to an almost private beach - we snorkeled with the turtles and fish almost every day. Loved the kitchen appliances, and amentities, although please remember to bring spices as there is only salt and pepper in the unit. Also two friendly NeNe's visited us in the mornings and evenings.

I have rented through VRBO many times. Very happy with the property, huge condo, nice furniture. Only negative feedback for the owner to improve is the Kitchen situation. Insufficient number of dishes, glasses, cooking items, and we are only a family of 4. BBQ outside is unusable, a cheap electric thing that can't cook chicken. Tried it once and gave up, unfortunate since I like to grill. This MUST be improved for an over $400/night rental. Families rent condos so they don't have to eat out in overpriced resort town restaurants each night. Also appliances very low end - electric stove very tricky to cook on, the controls didn't do much , it's on high heat or off, nothing inbetween.

Rented two condos for family vacation over Christmas, one at ground level and the second on the second floor. Loved the walkout and views of ocean and mountains, whales passing by one day. The pool was used extensively as well as Hideaway Beach and the beach at the St Regis, all easily accessible from here. The second floor was excellent for the 2-year old with the large balcony.

We stayed for four nights. The view from house was gorgeous and house was reasonably well equipped. The master bathroom could be more modern, has an interesting bath tub/jacuzzi? The master bedroom is open and has zero privacy from the rest of the house, as an FYI. I didn't know enough about the island to understand what 'a few steps down to the beach' meant. We had wanted to rent a place where you could just walk out to the beach. If you are looking for such a place, you may want to pick something on the Southern part of the island. The steps down were pretty steep and hard to carry things. House is within an easy drive to the town of Hanalei, where the beach is very accessible, there are some decent stores, restaurants, ice-cream and juice bars, etc. There is a pizza place within easy walking distance, good for take-out. There's also Princeville plaza a couple of miles away with some decent eating places and grocery store.Overall, I give it four stars for the wonderful view, comfortable, well-maintained place, nice walks on the nearby golf course, and short drive to the town of Hanalei.

Probably the best vacation my wife and I went on in our 22 year marriage. Plenty of room, amenities, incredible views, and quality. Princeville is quiet but with many things in walking distance or a short drive. We explored all of Kauai and found that the north shore has 90% of what you want...and the other 10% may not be worth the drive. We will be back to this place/condo soon!

Pu'u Poa #110 was absolutely wonderful! The condo was clean, the decor was beautiful, and they had made some upgrades that lent a classy touch. We found snorkel equipment and Boogie Boards in the condo, and the kitchen was well equipped with beautiful dinnerware and glassware. The wi-fi really helped us keep in touch with businesses and friends during our stay. The condo also had a shelf of books to read and a selection of DVDs to watch. You won't be disappointed with the view!

It is the right choice for us to be in this beautiful condo. The condo is located on top of hide away beach and easy to go shopping at Foodland in Princeville center. Puu Poa beach is 5 minutes walk that you can enjoy pool bar at St.Regis. Hanalei bay is couple miles away. The owner was very quick respond and Mandy, the property manager is very helpful and friendly. We will be back next year!

We loved our 10 night stay at Puu Poa #110. PROS:The condo is HUGE! Our family of five, including two adult children, had plenty of space to enjoy our stay. The view is spectacular from this unit, especially of the sunsets! Some of the units closer to the pool don't have the Bali Hai view nor can see the sunsets. The master bed is very comfortable, however, it would be better with some new sheets and comforter. That's nit picky, but it would really make sleeping more comfortable. Kitchen is well equipped. We did a ton of cooking and had everything we needed. The unit is very quiet.We were pleasantly surprised that the unit was cool enough. We were there in August one of the hottest months and were very comfortable.The management was very responsive. We called as some things were missing from the condo. We needed more pillows, an extra beach towel, a cooler and a standing fan to stay cool. We had all of those things the same day. Brand new and straight from Costco. Great service.Cons:The BBQ seems to be broken. It wouldn't get hot enough to cook a steak. Very frustrating. Again, the bedding in the master needs to be updated.Lack of outdoor dining area. Some units have outdoor seating and dining area, but this unit does have that extra space inside. There are some patio chairs that you can pull out onto the lawn.All in all, we would return again to this unit. It suited our family perfectly and we all enjoyed our time.

From the minute we walked in this SPACIOUS well appointed condo with sweeping ocean views we appreciated the relaxed feel and thoughtful amenities of this unit. Our three adult children and my husband and I all had plenty of space and privacy yet also enjoyed the communal spaces and their views. The kitchen is wonderfully stocked down to leakproof Tupperware and multiple spices. A closet with beach cooler and gear as well as the grill were appreciated and it was so handy to be able to do laundry. We loved the location tucked above Hideaway Beach, walkable to Queen's Bath and strolling 500 yards to St Regis for sunset views. The north shore of Kauai has fabulous beaches and excellent hiking opportunities- kept us happy and active for our 6 days. My adult children kept saying "this place is perfect!" Thank you for helping us create such a fabulous and easy family vacation. Also, the staff was helpful and responsive including helping me receive and FAX back some urgent paperwork that had to be done while there. I searched 15 hours online looking and mapping various options before picking this one. Don't waste your time- just pick this spot!!!

Beautifully property. Very spacious, well appointed, great views. Only unfortunate part was that we experienced a heavy tropical storm and the patio water leaked into the home. With the severity of the storm, I would have expected the management company to be proactive and contact us to tell us what to do. On our own, we brought in all of the patio furniture and bbq grill, which could have easily broken the windows. We called them and they did call us back. Lastly, when you pay a hefty cleaning fee, you wouldn't expect to be required to take out the garbage.

The location of the condo was perfect for us with access to nearby north shore beaches & Hanalei, as well as the beaches within walking distance (You need to be able-bodied to get to the two pretty beaches down the hills). We LOVED the expansive and comfortable living space and could not get enough of that VIEW! Kitchen supplies need to be augmented (i.e. number of plates and forks & knives) -- there were only 4 large plates. Should be a simple fix.It would also be great if the twin beds could be made up into a king for two couples traveling together. Back to the view, the telescope turned out to be a phenomenal benefit for us since there was a lunar eclipse during our stay.Overall, we had a great stay.

It's a very nice, spacious place! View of the ocean. steep, tricky but fun climb down to a very special beautiful little beach that I loved. The pool is a small and basic and the tennis court is not well maintained- but we still used and enjoyed both quite a bit. The extra day bed in the picture looked to me like it was in a private nook- but it was not- it's in the great big main room. So not ideal for my 17 year old seeking privacy. Still maybe that was better because she couldn't disappear! :) Lori was very kind and easy. And we are pretty easy too so it was a nice family vacation!

Our first unit was canceled by another owner in November and we were happy that this one was available. It exceeded our expectations. Our stay was wonderful, the views and sunsets are awesome. It’s always fun to watch the whales and surfers. The condo decor was very nice & had most everything we needed. The furniture was comfortable and in great shape.

The property location was just awesome. View of Bali Hai, the ocean, the sunset was just breathtaking. Lori was awesome in communicating and helping out with all the details and always available to talk and help out.
The property is very clean and the photos do not do justice to the property. Great beaches within walking distance.
Loved the area, loved the place and we will definitely come back!

We had 4 adults and 2 children. The condo worked out very well for us as the futon bed was quite comfortable. It it a beautiful condo and watching the sunsets from the porch was amazing. A huge plus was the short walk to the beach path which otherwise would have been difficult to access due to lack of public parking.
The challenges were when we arrived the internet was unusable due to slow speed. Lori responded immediately and upgraded the service in 2 days which we appreciated. The air conditioning was not working during our stay. And lastly, I felt that renters should be made aware that there is no cell phone coverage on the property, which was confirmed by conversations I had with other owners during our stay.
My experience with Lori was great; her communication and availability were excellent. We would definitely stay here again!

With stunning unobstructed cliff top views of the vast open ocean and both pool and beach options within view, this condo was a slice of perfection.
Also, the unexpected added bonus of air conditioning meant we slept in delightful comfort.
The condo came stocked with everything you’d need (including beach towels, beach chairs, and a few toys).
Our family of 5 had plenty of space to spread out and some privacy (as teenagers like to have).
Cannot wait to return and stay here.
