Hale Alealea Beach House, is one house back from Kepuhi Beach. This home is situated on a large, private street-to-street lot in Haena's prime neighborhood made up of unique, well manicured beach front/adjacent homes. Our 15000 square foot yard is fully fenced, and mature plumeria trees grace the entrance to the house.

The professionally landscaped garden is full of flowering tropical plants, swaying coconut palms and banana trees. The beach is easily accessed by several walking easements, just a moment's stroll from the house along our gravel lane. Tunnels beach is only a 15-minute walk away. This house was fully renovated in 2014.

This bright and airy home offers two queen bedroom suites, plus two additional bedrooms with two twin beds each, making it a great house for one or two families or a vacation shared by friends. The main level of the house is upstairs and enjoys leafy framed views of the ocean and the trade breezes.

The kitchen is modern and fully appointed. The spacious wrap-around lanai features a gas grill and provides plenty of additional dining and lounging space.

At Kepuhi Beach, look to the left to see the kite boarders setting up at the point. You will love watching their colorful kites and daring acrobatics in the surf. To the right, find a calm lagoon with spectacular snorkeling and shelling. Continue your stroll to find the nearby Hanalei Colony Resort for morning coffee, or the terrific Opakapaka Grill and Bar for a sunset cocktail or a beachside massage at the Hanalei Day Spa.

Features of Hale Alealea: Four Bedrooms, two with queen size beds, and two with two twin beds each. Wireless high speed internet access. Spacious indoor and outdoor living areas for relaxing and entertaining. Expansive lanai with gas grill for seamless indoor-outdoor dining and lounging.

Haena is one of Kauai's true tropical treasures. Down the beach is Tunnels where the reefs are home to a variety of tropical fish and green sea turtles. There is seasonal whale-watching from shore and great surfing. At Hale Alealea, you are a short distance from Ke'e beach and the epic Na Pali Coast.

You are a scenic 10-minute drive from historic Hanalei Village where you will find a wide variety of terrific restaurants and unique boutiques for shopping. You can make plans for any Kauai adventure in Hanalei. A 15-minute drive will have you in Princeville with its world-class golf courses, 5-star spa, horseback riding, zip-line tours and so much more.

We enjoyed the location and the accommodations were adequate. The kitchen was good for food preparation with decent appliances. On the downside, the place needs a deep cleaning, the beds and furniture need upgrades. One sofa was visibly old and soiled. No one would sit on it. Fortunately, the management team arrived the day we left with contractors and a long to-do list. Perhaps future guests will enjoy these improvements.

Steps away from beach access. Short drive/walk to tunnels and Haena beaches as well as Haena state park. Amazing patios and outdoor space. We’ll equipped kitchen. Hosts provide beach chairs and cooler. Would highly recommend.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Hale Alealea was an amazing spot. We were two families of four and had lots of space. The kitchen had everything you need with a great BBQ on the deck which also features a great dining area. Haena Beach was a very short drive, not too bad to walk if you wanted to. Likewise, a very quick jaunt to Hanalei. Very quiet neighbourhood (except for the roosters!). Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Our family of 7 had a wonderful time. The four bedrooms were perfect and having three bathrooms was a bonus. The house was well stocked with soaps and towels for the bathrooms and the kitchen had everything we needed, plus little extras like coffee, tea, basic spices. The short walk to the beach was fantastic for those evening sunsets. The yard was very private. Everyone in our party enjoyed our stay.

Our favorite place was sitting on the lanai and listening to the waves on the beach. I wish there had been six comfortable lounge chairs. There was only one. Everything else was perfect. Our rental was equipped with everything we could need including spices, sugar, flour, salt and pepper, we assume left by other renters. Bathrooms had shampoo and creme rinse too. We would go back to the same house in a New York minute. loved it.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Hale Alealea is in my favorite neighborhood In all the world...In Haena, on the north shore of Kauai. This was my third visit to the house. It’s spacious, clean, and well equipped, only a block from the beach and two blocks from a good restaurant. Flowers and soft tropical air abound. A minus for some didn’t apply to me...I had no trouble sleeping through the roosters but a light sleeper might be perturbed when they go off at 4 AM.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We were: grandparents, single male adult son (43), daughter (41) with spouse and 2 year old. This house was exceptional for its space, layout, bathrooms, use of beach chairs, outdoor water spigots for washing off sand, proximity to beach, quiet neighborhood, relaxing and welcoming atmosphere. LOVED having washer/dryer, large veranda for dinners, great kitchen. We had a week's worth of meals inside (except one dinner), and had everything we needed. Local fish market provided us with great selections. We recommend this to any family group.

Very comfortable. An older house and set up well for food preparation and dining which was efficient and could easily accommodate many different interests. Small table by kitchen for breakfast and large table on lanai for lunch and dinner. Plenty of chairs and couches around for heat-of-the-day reading (ie naps). Short walk to lovely beach. Longer walk to snorkle/swim beach. Pleasant neighborhood for after dinner walk. Stroll to quite good restaurant. Ray Kroc once owned this house

We stayed at Vale Alealea over Christmas with our family. The house is comfortable and well suited for large groups. The listing is accurate except for the bed sizes - anything that says queen is actually a double. It's well stocked with everything we needed during our stay including beach chairs, umbrellas and a cooler. It could have been cleaner when we arrived. There was a lot of dust on shelves and the floor but this seems to be standard in Kauai as the previous place that we rented was like this as well. The rental company was easy to deal with however it sometimes took a day or 2 to get answers to questions we had prior to check in. All-in-all we had a lovely time and would stay here again.

Throughly enjoyed our stay at this house in a great location on Kauai’s north shore. Walked to Tunnels Beach almost every day, snorkeling and watching the sea turtles, hiked 3 times. The mudslide road closure just south of Hanalei caused a few minor issues, and staffing/supply issues at restaurants and shops were a minor issue as well, but all in all this was one of our best family vacations ever. Wi-if was sometimes spotty and the house felt quite hot in the afternoons with no A/C but again, these were minor inconveniences. Kitchen is well-stocked with cooking pans, utensils, etc. Freezer has a condensation issue
