We rented this unit because the listing said they had AC. The AC didn't work properly. We let the property owner know and she told us to call the managment company. We called and they sent someone out. They said the AC needed repair and AC tech. The property owner sent us a message apologizing but said she couldn't get an AC tech within the next 2 weeks. That wasn't acceptable and I let her know. She offered no concessions.

This was our second stay in Karla’s condo and we have already booked 2 weeks next year. The unit has amazing views from the lanai and there is nothing better than falling asleep to the sound of the waves. It’s very clean, well-equipped and comfortable. The complex itself is very well-maintained and has a great pool with plenty of chairs and a small workout room. The staff is friendly and helpful.

The property is just as it is shown in the pictures. It was equipped with everything we needed for our 10 night stay. We never needed to contact the property manager during our stay.
The appliances and lighting could use some updating. Really nice having laundry facilities right in our room.
The location was perfect. With-in walking distance to groceries and restaurants.

This is the perfect little place for a couple. It had what we needed but could definitely update the kitchen, lighting, appliances, hair dryer. I would also suggest to add some beach chairs and boggie board to the property.

This condo was a great base for our Maui adventures. We loved the location- easy to find with an incredible ocean view. Great for watching whales anytime of day! The condo was nicely furnished and had almost everything we needed. Only things we were lacking were a coffee pod maker and a pizza cutter, but we made do. Other than that, we were happy. Would definitely stay again.

Excellent location, I've stayed at this building before. Quiet area and this condo had everything I needed. Check in process was smooth, the building employees were all very kind and courteous. My favorite part was that spectacular view from the lanai! I was watching the whales during the day and it was magical. Of course I was there during prime whale season. I imagine that during the summer the sunset views are probably ideal. Stay here, you won't regret it!

Comfortable top floor studio condo, lanai with ocean views. The condo has central A/C, washer/dryer, kitchen with utensils. Consistent cool breeze makes A/C unnecessary.
Recommendations would be: update stove, microwave and pots/pans. Also, update with larger smart TV with instructions on remotes. Property has pool, barbecues, and gym. Dislike: property charges $10 a day to park and spaces are close together. I would definitely stay again.

We loved this unit at the Royal Kahana! The place was immaculately clean. The view from the balcony was gorgeous as were the nightly sunsets over the neighboring islands. The pool area had plenty of chairs. The waves were great and fun to swim in. The beach is safe. The area near the unit was quiet at night and you could hear the ocean waves lull you to sleep!

We showed up after dark and couldn't see anything from our view but then we heard it! The ocean! Slept each night with the window wide open and let the ocean lull us to sleep.

Everything about this property was great! Very clean, front desk receptionist had much Aloha! Room was exactly as described. Best view in the house as you not only have ocean, but valley views as well. My daughter and I slept with the lanai door open and slept to the sound of the ocean and cool night breezes.
Access to beach was closed, but still accessible. Night swims at pool was nice with heated water.
I would definitely stay here again!

This is an amazing place to stay. The view is absolutely incredible! It has laundry washer and dryer so you can clean clothes while you’re at the beach which is just outside. Check in was easy and we had no problems there. The host replies promptly and is very gracious.
The applications are pretty outdated, but everything worked just fine and was clean. Parking was tight, as it is on the rest of the island, but we were always able to find a space.
I would absolutely recommend this to a friend coming to Maui and we would come back here in a heartbeat.

We love Maui and have stayed in other areas before - Kahana was new to us. The view of the ocean from this property was incredible. Sunsets every night and whales. It was a little too slow paced for us in that area, as there is nothing within walking distance (we had to drive to Lahaina to get any vibrant scene). The noise level in this area is incredibly loud - every morning, there were leaf blowers, garbage trucks, heavy vehicles from construction nearby and the resort next door constantly had parties with loud speakers and microphones. It was very disruptive almost all day from 0600am to well into the evenings.
We did have a huge issue with the mattresses in this unit. Both the double bed and the pull out mattresses were extremely unsupportive, uncomfortable and hard (you could feel the springs). There were two of us staying here and after the third night of no sleep, we slept separately to try to get some rest. This was disheartening as we came to Maui as a couple. We reached out to Karla about this and she referred us to her local management company (as she was not on island) who did not respond to our many phone calls and emails (which is not what we wanted to spend our vacation time in Maui doing). Once we finally got in touch with someone, they were going to bring a new mattress/foam and asked us to clear the entry way so they could bring it in. They left us two mattress covers instead - basically a fitted sheet?! This was NOT what was discussed nor was this in any way helpful. At this point we gave up as we had already spent hours of our vacation trying to resolve this seemingly easy issue which we believe the host should have resolved immediately instead of us having to use our vacation time to chase this. We may have gotten 3-4 hours of light a sleep a night each, sleeping in two very uncomfortable beds. Also, we would have appreciated a better TV (?one with smart capabilities) so that we could have used Netflix or something other than the limited channels/movies. We are not fussy travelers in any way and are easy to please - for the money spent, we would not return to this area or unit again.
If that issue had been properly taken care of, we would have appreciated that. We did like the view, the use of boogie board and cooler and the staff downstairs was very helpful. The pool was a bit dirty, but a great alternative as you have to walk down a few buildings to access a beach.

The condo is exactly as described and pictured except the furniture is now arranged better for more room. The views are amazing!! You can literally see whales from the balcony (Lanai)! We had a quick response from Karla to any questions. The lady’s that work the front desk are very nice and informative. The pool is better than pictured. It’s a great place to swim, cookout on the grills, or watch the sunset! When it starts to get dark they have great hanging and tube lights and they also light up tiki torches around the pool area. My daughter and I felt very safe on the property. It’s located in a quieter area but close to the busier locations. We had the most fun at nearby Napili Beach. Get there early for parking but there’s soft beautiful sand, tide pools (check for low tide times), and a great restaurant called the Gazebo for breakfast/lunch above the tide pools. My daughter loved boogie boarding and we snorkeled around the reefs. On the other side there’s a restaurant called the Sea House that we heard was also very good. Most things like great shopping or luaus are about a 10 minute drive away so it’s much better to rent a car. Plus just seeing the whole beautiful island in general. We rented a Jeep which was perfect for beach parking and going on Hana road!
Just to note and it may change but the unit has everything we needed in the kitchen, plus a couple blow dryers, 2 beach towels, a boogie board, a few sand toys (that we left), a cooler (4 ice trays), extra blankets, and lots of books in a bin. So hopefully you can save room in your luggage for souvenirs! Speaking of there’s great souvenirs at Old Town Lahaina or Walmart (right by the airport). Hope this info helps!

Karla was amazing to work with. There was some issues with the property manager but Karla stayed on it with me to resolve all the issues. Her property has an amazing view looking towards Molaki and you could watch whales all day from the lanai. We hate to leave.

After having to cancel twice because of COVID, we were thrilled to finally return to Maui for a two week stay. We are familiar with the Kahana area, and wanted clean, well-equipped, reasonably priced accommodations. This condo was all of that and more! It's on the top (12th) floor so you have unobstructed views and privacy. The building and unit have a/c, but it's really not necessary -- the airflow through the room with the fans cross-ventilation keeps it very comfortable -- and there is nothing better than falling asleep and waking up to the sound of the ocean.
The pictures of the unit accurately represent the furnishings, although they have been rearranged (more effectively, in my opinion), with the sofa against the wall and additional lighting. The bed was comfortable, kitchen was well-equipped (bring your own bottle or wine opener), and the washer/dryer is a must-have for a longer stay.
The complex itself was lovely with a beautiful pool deck (actually better than the photos), lots of seating, grills for guest use -- and perfect sunset views. Although there is technically no beach -- there is sand a beach area within feet of the complex. And there are so many beaches within a 10 minute drive it was not a problem. Parking was also great.
The building staff was friendly and helpful. Communication with the owner was top-notch. I contacted her with questions before and after we arrived and she was very responsive -- she's an absolute dream!
We were so happy that we have already booked again for next year! Can't wait to return!

First of all, our regular places to stay are Hampton inn/holiday inn. The view! Amazing sunsets every night! CLEAN, COMFORTABLE, balcony. Washer and dryer. Fast elevators. Nice breeze with sliding door and bathroom window open.
Which brings up a couple of cons:
With the bathroom windows open you can hear your neighbor using the bathroom-everything-while you’re in the bathroom. (But having the breeze is worth it.) also no dishwasher. No beach.
We would definitely recommend and definitely stay here again!

Pictures on VRBO did not match actual; photographer used right angles to make something that was average at best to look appealing to someone looking for a place to stay. Unit smaller than expected. Furniture worn & dated. Bed lumpy. Used unit basically to put a head over us to get a night’s rest. Location decent. Parking spaces adequate. Would not stay here again.

My husband and I just stayed for 10 days in this condo for our Honeymoon and it exceeded our expectations. It was very clean & neat inside. It is plenty big inside. The view is unreal which you can enjoy right from bed or from the spacious balcony! The pool area was amazing as well as beach front to walk & swim. We will definitely stay here again.

We had a great time in unit 1202! It is not very updated but the view is spectacular! The bed was very comfortable and it was a good location to Napili and Kapalua beaches. Just a short drive to Slaughterhouse Beach which is a favorite!
This unit did not have any beach chairs or a cooler. We did buy a cooler and we left it so hopefully there is one now!:) Over all it was a great choice and we had a fabulous time!
