Excellent views. During whale season you can watch them play directly from the patio. The room and resort are very clean. The room is very well equipped. The only suggestion is a few of the appliances need to be upgraded. I would definitely rent this location again.

Awesome place. Great bed. Excellent oceanfront location. Pristine grounds. A little hard to find driveway entrance. Has queen bed in bedroom and sofa sleeper but only accommodates 2 people. $17 per day extra charges for resort fees. Enjoyed our stay!

Extactly as pictured, great views from lanai with plenty of whales seen, property is very well kept, pool and hot tub very nice. There was a hairdryer (not listed). Great location, clise to most lications on the west side. Just minutes to Lahaina. Only downside was the multiple page agreement that was required, but learned this is fairly normal. Will definitly come back in the future.

We have stayed at Papakea several times and this location and unit was by far the best!! The oceanfront location and wrap around balcony offered spectacular views. The unit was very nicely decorated and appointed. A few basic supplies such as salt/pepper, a sponge and hot pads were missing but a minor concern given all the nice features of the unit. We had a fantastic stay and will definitely be back!

We love A201 - the azure blue of the ocean is mirrored in the decor - right down to the can opener. The corner suite location renders a gentle breeze passing through the suite all day accompanied by the ocean sounds from the waterfront location. Truly relaxing and restorative.There were only a couple of deficiencies that need attention1. Window Screens - on the dining table side of the room blew off 3xs during our stay. Although maintenance came and put them back on they would not stay in place. A permanent fix is needed.2. Dirty Floors- while the entire suite was very clean the floors looked clean but one walk across them on our arrival - in bare feet - rendered the soles of our feet darkened with dirt. Sweeping and vacuuming didn’t help. The floors need a good wash.

Well, the day we were due to check in I got a call from the property manager that the owners of the place we rented wanted to renovate that weekend and they wanted to know if we would stay in their other rental property further north near Napili. Mind you, the place we rented was right downtown on front Street in Lahaina. I really didn’t feel like we had a choice because she said the place was nicer, completely redone, and still oceanfront, it did not have two queens, just one king and a pull out sofa. We went ahead and took it because we didn’t really have a choice. I really did like the place but it was kind of a bummer having to drive back-and-forth to Lahaina versus walking distance like we would’ve been. The place was great however beautiful patio to watch sunsets or have your coffee in the morning. And everything was very cutely decorated. And it did have A/C, as the first place did not. We did have an ant issue, and they did have to spray while we were there, That was the only negative except for the location not being down town v

Beautiful apartment and perfect location, can't beat the view! Easy parking. Well appointed kitchen. Bed was comfortable. ABC store access thru gate in parking lot and close to a lot of restaurants and a grocery but most grocery stores were not well stocked, a COVID issue I'm sure. Only 1 AC that was loud so it was hard to watch TV or listen to music. There was no hairdryer, called and was told they would bring one but never got it. Called again and left msg but never got a response so customer service could have been better. Overall a great apartment.

This place was absolutely incredible. We had amazing views of the sunset and Molokai every night. The space was clean and upgraded. It was the perfect size for my new husband and I. It was centrally located so traveling for dinner or groceries was easy. The resort staff were also amazing! Hands down recommend. We will definitely be back!

I have stayed at Papakea Resort several times before, and this was by far the nicest unit I have rented, with a stunning oceanfront view. The condo kitchen was well equipped and had lots of storage, windows, pleasant breezes and was generally quiet. I was disappointed that there were no beach chairs (Costco/Tommy Bahama 2-pack, cheap!) or beach towels! I didn’t find the bed super comfortable, only made worse by not having fitted sheets which bunched up during the night (again, Costco Charisma Queen fitted sheets $69 - replace 2-3 times a year, easy fix). While the overall cleanliness seemed pretty good (Sofa and Chair need cleaning!) it wasn’t until the very first afternoon I layed on the bed and saw my feet in the mirror; the bottoms were black, and I had just removed my shoes/socks. Curious to why they were dirty, I found a Swifter next to the washer, plugged in several paper towels, and damp mopped the tile floors. OMG, filthy! I reported this to Property management, then ran over to Times supermarket and bought Swifter refills and floor cleaner and spent the next two hours cleaning the entire condo floors with disgusting results: hair, dust, sand, crumbs. So much for the $225 cleaning fee I paid in advance. Aside from feeling better walking barefoot on now-clean floors, the rest of my stay was extremely pleasant.

I stayed with my 85 year old mom in A201 for 9 nights. Her new HAPPY PLACE is sitting on the lanai looking out at the ocean, watching the whales & the people, & enjoying the ocean breezes. The location of this unit is perfect. It's so close to the water that even she could have thrown a ball into the ocean from our lanai. Also close to the pool and BBQ area. And, even tho there is an elevator, she was able to navigate the stairs most of the time -- she has been looking to practice going up and down ;). So, if you are considering bringing an elderly parent, they will love this unit/property. Parking is close by as well.
Re the interior of the unit...it is a corner unit so there are lots of windows as pictured online.
PROS:
TONS of storage in the kitchen for anything you might want to pick up at either ABC Market OR Times Market (both within walking distance from the Papakea). The owners have provided many of the tools needed for cooking...seek & ye shall find it in this kitchen). And, do not be disappointed by the look of the very old coffee pot because it works GREAT. Pick up some Hawaiian coffee at the Market and make it in this coffee pot. They also have a coffee grinder :) The Queen Bed is super comfortable in the bedroom. The bathroom is very large and has a sliding door separating the toilet/shower from the vanity area. The W/D works GREAT...wash/dry cycles are quick & they do the job.
CONS:
The window A/C in the LR is very old & extremely noisy, & there is NO A'C in the bedroom so it does get hot/humid in there...this works perfectly for the family member who likes it warm ;)
The mattress on the sofa sleeper is very uncomfortable so I picked up an egg crate foam topper at Wal-Mart. I'm leaving it on there but in case it's missing when you come, I suggest you pick one up or order one on Amazon. The sheets/blanket on the bed were very old/worn as well but a quick call to the management company & they provided me with better sheets & almost new blankets (thx Kamuela).
These are the ONLY 2 negatives...hoping the A'C is updated to the Split Aircon brand soon...one for LR and BR. And, hopefully a newer, thicker mattress for the sleeper sofa.
IF this is your first time staying at the Papakea, take note...this is an older property but extremely well maintained. I heard that they are getting new pool/lawn furniture any day. There is a very narrow beach area during low tide, but none during high tide.

We had issues with beach towels not being delivered as confirmed. The floor was also dirty and we requested it be recleaned. We contacted the management company and left repeated requests by phone, email and thru VRBO and never heard from them. The condo is great but pricey. We expected more from the management company.

This place was clean and conveniently located right by the water. Perfect for 1-2 people. My friend and I got to watch the sunset every night from the balcony and it was stunning! Would highly recommend to anyone.
