Unlike the typical resorts and hotels to the west or south, Maui Tradewinds is a private, family-owned retreat on the north shore of Maui. This part of the island still offers the chance to experience a natural paradise of pristine beaches, bamboo jungle, waterfalls and tropical rainforest.
There is only one guest accommodations here -- Tradewinds Suite -- an intimate, spacious and affordable studio. Furnishing and decor invite you into a colorful, contemporary tropical island lifestyle.
Tradewinds Suite occupies the ground floor of a two-story pole house, where your hosts live upstairs. The Suite has a dropped ceiling, with resilient channel, so that music or conversation is not audible between the two living areas. There are no shared areas except for the carport, and your hosts do not enter the tropical garden or the grounds surrounding the Suite when guests are home. Most of our guests are honeymoon couples, so we are especially respectful of privacy. Reviews posted in online travel forums affirm that guests consistently experience both excellent service and privacy.
Tradewinds Suite has a 500-gallon garden Jacuzzi with ocean view, Cal-king bed, queen-size futon, kitchenette, luxurious bath with sauna/steam, Tiki garden with BBQ, and breathtaking 180-degree views sweeping from the volcano summit, across a rainforest valley, to the ocean.
Please note that breakfast is not included. We found that most of our guests did not use the breakfast supplies which we once provided, and they preferred to dine out or shop for their own ingredients.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, hosts have implemented safety features recommended by public health authorities.
