Waialea bay beach offers excellent snorkeling when the ocean is calm, especially mornings before winds have picked up. The beach is crowded on weekends but empty during weekdays. Strong swimmers can snorkel from Hapuna beach 1 mile up the coast to waialea beach when the ocean is very quiet (summer months).
