This very spacious (1,440 square feet) condo on the ground floor of Tower 1 is ideal for families with children and also provides easy access for seniors. In addition, a wide lanai and a private garden corner in the inner courtyard (from which you can get a glimpse of the ocean) provide extra space suitable for relaxation, and allows room for children to play outside in a safe environment.

And, of course, when the children return home with dirty outfits, unit 121/123 features washer and dryer units inside the condo.

The condo is only a few steps away from all the amenities at The Whaler, including the tennis court, the new lobby building (front desk, concierge and activity reservation desk) , the daily feeding of the colorful koi in the inner courtyard pond, the gym and spa on the basement floor of Tower 1, the BBQ facilities, the Whaler pool with a hot tub and sun decks. The adjacent Pool Kiosk offers free towels and beach chairs. Last but not least, the sandy beach and ocean are right in front of the main buildings.

One minute away, Whalers Village offers some 60 shops and several upper class restaurants (Leilani, Hula Grill, etc ) on the ocean shore, as well as a food court for casual dining and children's favorites. Additional fantastic restaurants are found at the nearby Westin Resort and the Kaanapali Beach Hotel, both along the beach walk directly in front of the Whaler.

Unit 121/123 is unique within the Whaler property because it is decorated tastefully throughout the condo with Maui marine artwork by Robert Lyn Nelson. One can fully enjoy the beauty of the Maui waters and the underwater fauna population inside the condo! Mr. Nelson's original work can also be admired at the Lahaina Galleries on Front Street in Lahaina.

In addition to the wide-ranging improvements and reconstruction at The Whaler Resort as a whole during the past few years, unit 121/123 was extensively renovated during the second half of 2016. The kitchen has been totally redone with granite countertops and new cabinetry, and is fully equipped for home cooking. The guest bathroom has been newly equipped with a glass shower cubicle, and the living room got new sofa beds along with a matching loveseat and upholstery.

The master bedroom features a king-size bed, and the second bedroom offers separate double beds. We offer a range of pillows to allow guests to select the most suitable ones for their comfort. For smaller children, a highchair is available and cribs can be arranged upon request. For emergency guests, a deluxe air bed can be easily inflated with the accessories that come along with it.

Overall, the location in the center of Kaanapali Beach cannot be beat! In less than one minute by car, you find the Club House of the Kaanapali Golf Resort at the entrance of Kaanapali Parkway with one Championship and one Resort Golf Course. Further out, it is a 10-minute drive to Lahaina and Kapalua where you will find more beaches, golf resorts like the world-famous Kapalua Plantation Course (which hosts the PGA Champions Tournament early in January every year), shops, restaurants, art galleries, theaters and lots of entertainment.

We just returned from an amazing stay at the Whaler. We did not notice any cleaning issues. The sliding doors were a bit tight, but didn’t cause any issues. Location is one of the best on beach. Easy first floor access was awesome for our family and young kids. Additional $25/day roughly $200/week in resort fees collected at check in. This includes towels, beach chairs, coffee tea, parking, fitness center access. Great dining options near by, short 30 second walk through the cut through to an ABC store for quick essentials. Grocery only about 5 min away. Short walk to black rock. We will be back!

The first floor garden location is perfect for a family. The unit is quite large and roomy. As stated in other comments, the bathrooms are could use some updating and the carpets need cleaning. Regardless, we had a wonderful time at the Whaler.

This was the perfect condo for our family stay. We’ve stayed at the Whaler before but with little ones the ground floor was perfect. The short walk to the beach or pool made it easy to get everyone out and going. Beds were comfy and lots of space to move about & not be tripping over each other. We hope to come back soon!

This property looks much nicer online. With that said, it has potential to be luxurious with just a few updated. The carpet is still the same and it has an odor. It was supposed to be replaced two weeks ago and supposedly has been in since February….Hmmmn. There were little bugs all over the kitchen so all food had to be stored inside the fridge. We were not comfortable to use the counters or the stove due to the bugs. We even stored our few dishes and silverware we used for breakfast in the fridge which was very clean. The ants were also all over in the bathroom. We did check with the front desk and they said they have regular exterminators. The master bathroom door was ajar all the time because the bolt is sticking out and so closing the door is impossible. Overall the unit is lovely as far as decorating, very Hawaiian vibe which I like and the beds were comfortable. The rooms are all quite large except one bathroom. Previous reviews indicated problems open and closing the patio doors which is still an issue and has not been addressed so using the patio or obtaining fresh air when home was difficult. I enjoyed the week but this is overpriced based on the issues we encountered. Please replace the coffeemaker!

This condo unit and location is superb. Our kids (teens) think this is the best location in Maui with beach proximity and walking distance to Whalers Village. Property manager was very professional and prompt. Room is a little dated, but clean, and you cannot beat the price for how huge this condo is. Would stay again and again here!!

This space was perfect for family use. Large enough shared space for family games, yet large enough bedrooms and bathrooms to keep your sanity. Fist level corner location has many advantages. The location of this property is also ideal for last minute store runs, beach access, and not needing a rental car.

Great property at the Whaler with perfect access to the pool and beach being a ground floor unit. Loved how spacious this unit was and the bathroom shower was really awesome! Beds were very comfortable and great art work throughout. Having a washer and dryer in the unit was a real plus!

Great location! Good price for a 2 bed/ 2 bath unit. Lots of room, had everything we needed. The patio doors were difficult to open and close and the dryer didn't work. Over all we enjoyed our stay and would stay there again.

The unit is a mixture of original and upgraded areas. The beds were comfortable and the unit was roomy. The kitchen had been redone at some time and was adequate. The biggest problem was the sliding doors are original and VERY hard to move. We called for service and the technician made them worse. After he left, we couldn't move or lock the doors and the A/C no longer worked because the sensor on the door was not aligned. We called repeatedly for the tech to return but kept getting excuses. The original master bath shower valve was also VERY difficult to operate and the technician also couldn't fix that. The unit has great potential but needs some work to upgrade original features.

We stayed with 4 adults and two young children. The location is perfect. It’s next to Whaler’s Village which has multiple restaurants, shops and even an ABC store. There is a nice sandy beach just across the boardwalk, so you don’t have to search for beach access at all. It’s about a 5 minute walk to Black Rock which has nice snorkeling and a little cliff to jump off. The unit is large and has a full kitchen with plenty of cooking utensils. Dark curtains in the rooms, so the sun never woke us up. The master bedroom is large and quiet, so the sleeping kids were never disturbed by the adults in the living room area. Overall, great stay, nice convenient unit and met all of our expectations. Will stay again.

Excellent property location, directly next to the coast and adjacent to Whalers Village. The location of the rooms in Whaler Resort is on the first floor, so that is a big bonus. The property owners/managers were also very quick to answer all of our questions, usually within 24hrs. For improvement, the bathroom and carpets could use some renovation, but overall clean and very satisfactory. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay.

All the inclusions provided at the property was very thoughtful to guests to maximise their time in Maui. I was aware of the age of bathroom from the reviews but it was clean and well kept. Maintenance were responsive to assist with getting the shower working. I would definitely be staying again in future when we visit Maui.

We had four adults staying here. This was the most spacious condo we have stayed in. Lots of sliding glass doors onto a beautiful patio area. This was our first time staying on a ground level unit and we loved it! This would be a perfect place if you have kids because of the nice patio. We had everything we needed, check in and parking is a breeze. The owners are very communicative and answered all my questions very quickly. There are lots of restaurants and shops right there and you are right on the beach. It was very windy while we were there but the patio is situated so you can sit outside and the wind doesn’t blow everything away. So nice!

Resort itself was very beautiful and manicured. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. The room itself was quite spacious and clean. We found all the pots/pans/utensils we needed in the kitchen to make meals. The main bathroom could use a little fixture updating but overall everything worked as it should. Overall we loved the condo- amazing location and so helpful to be on the first floor. As we knew-from reading other reviews, the condo does need some remodeling (mostly the bathrooms) But comfy beds, lots of space and easy access made for a relaxing spring break for our family.

Great first floor 2 BR condo for a week's stay. Communication was excellent. Access to pool, beach, parking, tennis, and fitness center was perfect. Great snorkeling, swimming, and whale watching from the beach. The Whaler property is immaculately taken care of - the staff are friendly and proactive. Family enjoyed the stay and would highly recommend the property to anyone wanting to stay in Maui.

The location of the property was wonderful. Loved being on the first floor. The location couldn’t be better. However the amenities in this particular unit were not the best. The unit needs to be updated it just felt very old and dingy. A fresh coat of paint, updating furniture and flooring would go a long way in this unit. The carpet was old and very worn. We cooked most of our meals in the kitchen with need some new accessories, pots and pans need to be throw away. I would come back and stay in this complex, however I would look for a more updated unit before I would stay here again, when on vacation I want a place that feels nice and cozy this did not sadly.

The property can use an update but the location makes up 10 fold! Beach property with a quick walk to BlackRock for snorkeling and to Whaler’s Village for shopping. Close to groceries and Lahaina too. Also, Kurt was so accommodating to our family. We had to postpone and change dates a few times and he worked with us. Thank you so very much! Can’t wait to get back!

This condo is associated with The Whaler on Ka’anapali beach. This is exactly where you want to be- the location cannot be beat!! You are right next to the Whaler village (lots of nice shops and restaurants) and there is a wonderful boardwalk along which there are many resorts you can walk/run by. You are right on a beautiful beach where there is wonderful snorkeling! We saw lots of fish and even a turtle on our first evening! There is also a pool and hot tub in the complex. The condo is on the corner on the first floor so it is easily accessible but also private with its own lanai. The place comes equipped with beach chairs, snorkeling gear and sand castle building stuff for the kids. Although the condo is not right against the ocean, this did not matter at all as it was literally a 2 minute walk. Although the condo is listed as sleeping 6, our hosts graciously allowed us to have 7 guests. This condo was incredibly spacious and could probably even fit 8. There was a very large master bedroom with a king bed, another room with 2 double beds and the living room had a lot pull out sleeper sofa. We all thought the beds were very comfortable. If anything the condo was maybe a little outdated and worn but we absolutely loved our stay there and we would do it again without hesitation!

The property location is perfect. Just steps to the beach and next to shopping and restaurants. The bedrooms are large and the ground floor location makes access easy from the back lanai. The unit needs some updating especially the master bathroom and floors. The only issue we had was one drawer in the kitchen kept falling off the sliders. Overall we had a great vacation and would stay at The Whaler again but maybe in a more updated unit.

Location couldn't be better. The unit itself fit our family of 5 well, but it seems that very little effort/capital has been spent in decades on carpet, kitchen appliances, kitchen pans/utensils, etc. One lamp had a broken light bulb hanging from it when we arrived and multiple electrical outlets didn't seem to work. Our 7 year old commented on the dirtiness of the floors, which was notable to my wife and I, having spent much of the last 7 years cleaning up the floor after her! :) Overall, I would say the unit is passable, primarily due to it's amazing location and not the unit's condition. That being said, Ka'anapali is fantastic and we enjoyed the tremendous location of the Whaler condos.

During our family vacation I Maui my son’s family including 3 small children stayed at the Whaler Condos at Kaanapali Beach. The spacious, well appointed 2br condo located on the ground floor was perfect for our littles. The host, Kurt, was very helpful about communicating all that was occurring during the Covid restrictions making the experience so much more pleasant. He was very prompt with answers to all our questions - excellent host. I highly recommend Kurt and his unit. Would definitely stay there again! Deanna

Have stayed at the Whaler many times, first time in unit 123 . Not impressed with unit, carpet dirty, TV did not work, screen doors were off track and sliders were so old you had to use all you weight to open and close them. Some updates have been done, owner just need to finish. The unit has an excellent location and two bedrooms and two baths worked well for a family of four. If the rest of the updates are completed I would definitely stay their again

This condo was awesome! I Didn’t think I would love the ground level condo as much as I did, but now I always want to stay ground level! So easy in and out! This place is authentic Hawaii. We loved it! Owner is awesome! Washer stopped working day 1 and by day 2 we had a new washer! Amazing! This place is awesome and we cannot wait to return.
