It was perfect. There was a beautiful pool, lovely landscaping, a quiet, friendly atmosphere. The condo had a great view and had what we needed for a comfortable stay.

We spent 10 wonderful and relaxing days at Kuleana Resort. The property is very well maintained with beautiful gardens, a large pool, and BBQs cleaned daily. The ocean view from the condo is absolutely breathtaking and you can hear the sound of the waves while relaxing in the living room. The condo had everything we needed, including plenty of towels, bedding and kitchen supplies. We really appreciated being able to borrow a cooler, chairs, and sun umbrella for full days at the beach. We saw turtles swimming in front of the property and especially enjoyed the evening sunsets and tiki torches lit all around the perimeter. Kathy is an excellent host. She provided very clear directions and check-in instructions, along with lots of tips on where to eat and shop. She also checked in on us to make sure we arrived ok, helped us try to locate a pair of “lost” sunglasses (which were later found) and allowed us to check out late to accommodate our flight schedule. Thank you Kathy and Jim for sharing your wonderful vacation home with us!

The view pictures do not do it justice. By far the best unit in the complex. Next to the steps to the ocean, bbq grill and ocean. Unit has everything you would need and then some. It did get hot in the living room by night and it was challenging to cool down but the fans helped.

The location is perfect, the beach is right out your doorstep. Even though I was there a short time, saw several rainbows, the grounds are immaculately maintained, so many stars at night, turtles in the waters, close to good restaurants. Edwin the property manager was extremely nice. I had a minor issue and the owner, Kathy, called me right away and resolved it immediately. Without a doubt I would stay there again!

This property was perfection! It could not have been in a more beautiful location. We adored the private beach and the condo's location opening right onto the lawn adjacent to the beach. We saw turtles every single day we were there! And the snorkeling was excellent. So many sea creatures! We also loved the west facing location for gorgeous sunsets at night.
The condo had everything we needed for our family of four (two adults and two teens). We cooked and ate almost all of our evening meals on the lanai. I was grateful for the coolers, beach chairs, and beach towels that were provided. The cooler was handy for packing lunches and drinks for our adventures away from the condo. The check in process was easy and we were grateful for an early check in time. We will definitely return to Kuleana next time we are on Maui.

The only bummer about the property is regarding the ladder that leads you to snorkel with turtles. There was no ladder, and the coast line is too rocky to snorkel right there. I recommend the listing is updated to remove the ladder picture and selling point. That said, just swim into the ocean off the beach, and you'll get your snorkel with turtles fix.

We stayed here with our two little boys and loved it. The location is wonderful and the space has everything you need to enjoy yourself. We were able to beach hop using the sand toys, chairs, and provided towels. We used the pool a few times and saw many people enjoy the barbeques right outside. We even saw a few turtles on the beach below! The resort was quiet and beautifully landscaped. We really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it to anyone!

We can't say enough about this place. It is so beautiful and I couldn't stop looking at the ocean right from the patio. We saw turtles on the private beach and snorkeled. The landscaping was gorgeous. We could't get in at first but someone let us in the gate, but after that no problems. I would suggest a couple more beach towels. (only 2 and we had 4 of us) But it also gave me an excuse to buy a pretty flowered one. We had a flight change and our lovely hosts let us stay later then check out so we would have a place until our flight. That was very sweet. I would recommend this place over and over again.

Location is 2nd to none! In less than 2 minutes you can be snorkeling with turtles. We saw whales everyday while sitting on our lanai. Kathy was very quick to respond with any questions we had and made it extremely easy to check in! My family had a amazing time!

We have stayed at Kuleana and rented this unit several times over the years and absolutely love it! The proximity to the ocean is incredible. We sit on the lanai and watch the whales go by. Its always rough to leave on go home day.

Everything was perfect. The furniture is a bit updated but it's really clean and functional. What a blast to have breakfast in front of the sea. Great property, nice beach, nice snorkeling, and nice pool. I wish I could have stay longer. The only issue is that they gave me the wrong code to access the apartment, Hopefully the security guy has a code. Note if you arrive really late nobody will be there.

Kathy's place made every day of our stay on Maui start out positively. The view alone is worth it.
We would have our morning coffee every day on the patio at sunrise, while we watched dozens of sea turtles swimming in the water just by the beach.

The location of the property is great, I stayed in front of the ocean with access to a small rocky beach. The property got ocean front BBQ grill so I would suggest to get to mean from Costco during arrival, the grill really helped us saved money by not eating out everyday. This property also have a great view of the two other islands in Maui county and priceless sunset.

1st I’ll start with the good. Great location lots of stuff to do in the area and convenient to restaurants, shopping and beaches. The condo itself being a corner unit had great views and was right next to bbqs and stairs to go down to see turtles. This was also a negative due to the amount of foot traffic constantly passing our lanai. Kathy was kind enough to let us check in early, which we really appreciated.,
Now for the negatives. The people are rude! During our 1 week stay we had FOUR notes left on our car. The 1st for not displaying our parking pass (which took 3 visits to the security office to obtain) which was clearly on our dash, 2 for parking on the line in stead of between them (both times because the car next to us was on or over the line when we came home at night). The 3rd was a personal note claiming we clearly didn’t know how to park and were inconsiderate.
Our 1st visit to the pool an older man doing his morning water exercises yelled at a lady to turn off her radio, she apologized and said she was on hold with the airline. We thought the womens husband and the man were gong to come to blows and they were in their 70s! On another occasion we had some relatives meet us by the pool. We got the stink eye the whole time for having conversation and laughing. The 10th of many rules at the pool should have been “no fun allowed”.
The condo itself was very tired, lighting was atrocious (please change bulbs in living room to something other than fluorescent white), no coffee filters and not a sharp knife in place despite having a ton of utensils.
If you are a small couple. In your 70’s, driving a small car and want to be able to hear a pin drop your entire visit this is the place for you.
We’ve been visiting family here for 40 years and I can honestly say we’ve never been treated more poorly 😕

This was a great little place. The view is beautiful! It was so nice to be able to just walk out the patio door and down to the water. We spent mornings on the patio watching the sun come up and just admiring the view and watching boats go by.
The unit was clean, the bed was comfy enough, the AC in the bedroom worked great. All appliances were clean and worked well. There were two small coolers that we used a lot. There were also beach chairs, a boogie board, and pool noodles, but we actually didn't end up using those (too much to carry to the beaches we went to).
The only downside was that we found it kind of hot. The patio doors have screens so we had those open whenever we were home. Once you open the front door too (which also has a screen) there was a decent breeze through the unit, so it was ok under those conditions. But because we closed the doors/window while we were gone and while sleeping, it would get stuffy and hot pretty quickly and take a while to cool down. So, if you like to come home to a cool place after being in the sun all day, just know that the condo will be a little warm (but the AC in the bedroom cools great so maybe that's enough--just keep the bedroom door shut).

We enjoyed staying at this condo immensely. The view from the lanai was just incredible. Condo was clean, and well appointed. Condo was convenient to many restaurants, stores, and sightseeing attractions. Pool area was beautiful. Owners gave clear instructions and we would definitely stay here again.

We absolutely loved this little slice of paradise! I feel like the listing doesn’t even do it justice! The condo is clean, plenty of space for the two of us and has everything you need. Also the king size bed is very comfortable and spacious. But the location is the real winner! Absolutely beautiful views, the grounds are beautiful with all different types of plants and flowers, and the private beach is perfect! You will definitely see turtles! We would stay again in a heartbeat.

This property is better than pictures show! Just steps to the ocean, it’s the best property at Kuleana Resort. We thoroughly enjoyed how friendly everyone was, including the security staff but also everyone who stayed here. We loved snorkeling and seeing the turtles right out by the rocks! We would love to come back here some day !

We are thrilled with our stay. The pictures don't do the property justice. Being able to walk straight out of the sliding doors to the gorgeous view and have breakfast on the lanai was our favorite part. We caught a couple of gorgeous sunsets too. The grounds are very well maintained: daily BBQ cleaning, the garden is very nice, everything kept up well. The steps to the snorkel ladder were closed off but there was another way to access it just a bit further away. The kitchen is very well stocked. Ommunication with owners ahead of the trip was excellent. Can't recommend highly enough!

Jim & Kathy’s condo was incredible. Literally right on the water and only a few steps to the beach with turtles constantly visiting! Sitting out on the verandah watching the sunset was amazing. BBQ facilities are right next to the condo as well and the condo comes stocked with all utensils. The AC was a little loud but we tried to avoid using it too much due to the cost of power on the island.
Pick this condo over a hotel any day. It’s so much quieter, quaint and beats the hustle and bustle of the busy areas.
Overall, a fabulous stay and I wish we stayed more nights than we did!

Our family has stayed in many properties in the Honokowai area but I think we have a new favorite. The resort property is beautiful, with lush landscaping, access to a lovely beach, and a large pool. The unit is perfectly situated, with fabulous views of Lanai and Molokai and easy access to the bbq and pool. Beach was a short walk across the property. The listing showed access to a closer beach near the unit but this area is now rocky rather than a sandy beach. Otherwise everything is as pictured and the unit was clean and comfortable. Highly recommend!

The snorkeling was the best just steps from the condo. We saw lots of turtles hanging out in the water just in front of the complex. Big thumbs up to owners Jim and Kathy, very responsive to our concerns. Highly recommend a stay at this condo.

We have stayed at the Kuleana once before and just love it, nice and quiet for a relaxing vacation. The turtles are never a disappointment and seems to love the rocks in front. Got to see them every day. The property is just beautiful with old Landscaping. The grounds are spotless and well maintained. I swear someone was cleaning something every time I walked out of the condo. We were lucky to find two condos with an adjoining door. My dad is disabled and this allowed for us to all be together and help my parents when needed. The view from these specific condos it nothing less than magical. I will have slept in a shack to have had this view, but luckily the condos were also perfect for us. We look forward to returning to this gem in Maui.

Comfortable for our family of 4. Steps from the ocean and the swimming pool. Property is kept up nicely. Community BBQ's are cleaned daily. Beach in pictures must be seasonal because it was rocky while we were there but other nice beaches were a short drive away. ABC store is just down the road and it was an easy drive to Front St in Lahaina with lots of shops and restaurants. Owner was very helpful and quick to respond to any questions we had. Lawn chairs, cooler, beach umbrella, boogie board were available to use. Kitchen is small but had everything we needed. Loved being on the bottom floor to be able to walk right outside.

We have stayed at this property a few times now. It is always I go to. We love the location and the view is amazing from the unit and lanai. It is very convenient to cook dinners right out from the unit on the Barbecues. There is a snorkeling beach near by as well as the steps to the water from the property.

This condo has it all--swimming, snorkeling, sunsets. The property is beautiful and the views of Lanai and Molokai cannot be beaten. The condo is well-equipped so you don't need to bring anything except your clothes and yourself. The property owners communicated well and provided us with lots of tips and information about things to do in the area. This is definitely a must-stay location if you want to visit Maui.
