We have stayed in other units at Koa Lagoons in the past and the units are spacious, modern, and well appointed. My wife dropped a charm from her necklace onto the sleeper sofa the morning we checked out. As I searched under the cushions with no success I pulled the sleeper away from the wall and found paper wrappers, dust, dirt, and of all things the underside of the sofa had deteriorated and was in pieces on the floor. Previous guests had also spilled drinks and the remnants were also on the floor. It was obvious the furniture had not been moved for a proper cleaning in months, if ever.

The condo itself in addition to the immaculate grounds and accommodations totally made our stay in Maui. The view from our room was spectacular and could not have been more beautiful. The picture on this site is exactly what you’ll see, but even better in person. The sunset views from our room each night were breathtaking. If you’re skeptical at all, don’t be. It is what you’re looking for when going to Maui. It was just so perfect in every way, and the location in town was convenient as well. We were close by everything with so many other fun things to do while in Maui. We’re already looking forward to another visit hopefully in the near future. Mahalo.

This property was the perfect place for a getaway- relaxing, clean and well maintained. We came to Maui to celebrate our anniversary. The location in Kihei is a short drive from so many wonderful adventures and far enough from major hot spots so we could enjoy the peace of nature and the ocean. The condo maintenance staff was constantly at work keeping up the place but mot at all intrusive. Would love to stay here again when we come back to Maui.

This place is in the perfect location, the condo was clean, quiet, and comfortable, the entire complex and surrounding grounds were meticulously cared for, and the view from the large balcony was amazing!! We appreciated the two AC units that kept the place cool, the washer and dryer, the well-stocked kitchen, and the beach chairs, umbrella, towels, and cooler that were available to us. We’d definitely stay here again!

The views, location (in midpoint of island) were excellent. I knew the decor was dated and I didn’t worry about that when reserving. But once there, it felt dingy and it was kinda uncomfortable. There was nothing blatantly dirty to the normal eye, but it was little things that added up: the visible dust on the toilet paper holder, the dirtiness in the light switches (bathroom), the cabinet fronts and crevases needed a good cleaning (esp the bathroom), randomly dirty doors and walls (from normal wear, similar to what most people have in homes), the floors weren't visibly dirty (outside of the notable grout discoloration) but still after walking barefoot our feet were definitely dirty (as someone else mentioned), and lastly for sensitive smellers-there was an odd old smell in master and I had to buy airfreshener (it's in the utility closet if you need it!). It just all adds up to me. And I did not reach out to complain, I didn't want to deal with that during our vacation. I'm sure they would have been responsive.
Lastly, I slept so bad because of the air conditioning unit - it was bright (finally were able to cover it) and it literally points at the bed side where you lay your head. When updates are finally done would recommend a mini split.
Would I stay here over a place with no view, yes. Would I stay here over a differ condo that was updated and cost slightly more? No. Inevitably the owner must make updates or the less than 4-5 stars will add up.

This condo is just a little bit north of the busy part of Kihei, which we found ideal.
The view from the lanai is exceptional. Perfect for sunsets and watching the whales breach.
One of our favorite things to do was wander along the sandy beach until it ended at a seawall about 2.5 miles south.
The condo owner, Kerry, was very accommodating and quick to respond.
We enjoyed our stay very much and hope to return someday soon.

This trip was a 21st BD present to my granddaughter. The view from the 6th floor of this condo was amazing. The kitchen appliances and washer/dryer worked flawlessly. However, the L/R DVD player was inoperable, the B/R DVD player was not connected, and the floors were dirty, which we didn't notice until we looked at the bottoms of our feet. One of the sliding screen doors kept coming out of the track. When I called the property mgr's # to report the deficiencies I was told that they had nothing to do with the condo maintenance and that it was the responsibility of the owners.

For those seeking an affordable beachfront condo in a “normal” area, this is for you! We didn’t want to stay at a resort, and we didn’t want to be in the hustle and bustle in the middle of town - this condo provided the perfect balance! A few minutes of driving gets you to everything in town while the property itself is nice and quiet. The views from the property are beautiful and calm.
Jim and Kerry were easy to communicate with and I can’t thank them enough for sharing their space with us!

This was my first trip to Maui. I didn't know the different parts of the island, but this was a decent location to base snorkeling and sightseeing trips. Nothing closer than 20 minutes, but most within an hour. The kitchen is well stocked. It was nice to have beach chairs and towels provided also. The balcony is spacious and relaxing, as long as the AC isn't on (noise). Parking was easy. Grocery store within 5 minute drive. The only cons of this location was the noise from the 2 window air conditioners, traffic noise through the bedroom Jalousie windows, and the extreme heat gain from the sunset, from 4-6.30pm. There are roller screens to try to block some of the light and heat, but it still gets hot and bright. If you're out and about during this timeframe, it's not a problem.

I loved the location of this property. It’s a short drive to the restaurants and shops in Kihei, but away from crowds and noise - the perfect combination for a relaxing vacation. From the minute you enter the apartment - you are draw to the amazing lanai view !! - just like it was pictured in the listing. Very private. This is the topmost floor so no disturbances from neighbors above. Conveniently located to restaurants and stores - we had a car to get around. Full Kitchen equipped with utensils etc but bring your own tea/coffee/snacks. Beach chairs, towels, boogie board etc available by owner which was very helpful. Washer dryer in the unit a big plus. The owner was easy to communicate with and very gracious !

Overall the property was great, right on the beach, the view was fantastic, size of the unit was good, included everything you needed; beach chairs, beach towels, etc. Check in was easy. Centrally located. It was our first trip to Hawaii and we had a wonderful time. We saw sea turtles swimming in the water right behind the condo every morning which was awesome!
The only "con" I noticed was the cleaning could have been a lot better- there was a layer of dust along the top of the shower and the vents in the bathroom were caked with dust/lint which was pretty gross. And maybe the dishwasher is not working properly but the dishes were dirty- had to rinse every cup/glass/plate we used, and the pans were filthy- burnt, dried on stuff that had to be scubbed to use.

This was such a great property to stay in. The view from the lanai alone was worth every penny, but it offered so much more. It was clean and had updated furniture than what is in the pictures. It was very spacious and had a homey feel to it. The location was also perfect to get around to whatever you needed. The host, Kerry, was responsive, informative and helpful! Beach gear was available for our use which was another nice touch. The beach was nice and if it was too windy, we could just go to the pool instead. The grounds were beautiful and well landscaped, down to the small koi pond out front. I highly recommend it and if you're like us, you won't want to leave. Thank you!

Upon arriving for our wedding anniversary 5-night visit we had minor trouble checking in, but the owner promptly responded to help us. This top floor condo has a remarkable westerly panoramic view through swaying coconut palms, to the blue Pacific ocean, gentle surf break, an ancient Hawaiian fish pond and the nearby islands of Lanai and Kahoʻolawe. Watching from the 6th floor lanai, we enjoyed paddlers in canoes, snorkelers and free-divers enjoying the water, so we suited up and jumped in too! We took long walks on the sandy beach. The northerly fish pond is protected, shallow and great for beach picnics with kids! The condo is well equipped and feels large for a one-bedroom unit, including the very wide lanai. Because the unit is on the top floor, it feels private, and no one is walking on your head. Both the living room and bedroom have AC. The kitchen has a skylight, so everything was well lit. The bedroom has a ceiling fan over a great Cal king bed with extra pillows. There's a washer and dryer in the unit too. Highly recommended! Now thinking up excuses to return ASAP....

I could leave the sliding glass doors open and listen to the waves, cook a full meal, and wash laundry all whilst planning my next days activities. Perfect view of the wind surfers but you need shoes for the beach. Lots of coral and some broken glass. Beach chairs, towels, and umbrella were provided in the closet. Quiet neighbors made the trip even better for me.

Stayed in the ground floor unit for 7 nights. Unlike some condos, the reality is even better than the photos! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. You could not find a better view. The room is spacious, beautifully appointed and clean. It was wonderful being able to step out onto our lanai with a morning coffee, listen to the birds sing and stroll across the lawn to the beach. My husband & I stayed here in Feb 2009. Loved the kitchen skylight*** kept trying to turn it off!!! Wonderful view of a mother whale "nursing" her calf. Could hear the whales from the lani. As 15+ times visitors to Maui - 10 times for 4
weeks or more - we stayed in Koa Lagoon 603 for
the first time in '07. And found a new home! Now
in November '08 we are about to finish our 2nd
month-long stay here. Our only regret is that the
month is almost over. Except, we are also sorry we
won't be back for 11 months.
If this sounds like an endorsement, it is meant to
be. The unit to be all we could ask for, and as nice,
clean, and well equipped as any place we have
stayed. That plus the super ocean view, large lanai,
& free high-speed internet, has made us happy to
stay here and come again! And the support people
at Koa Lagoon are great, and the owners helpful
and quick to respond to questions.

We stayed at this wonderful condo June 2007 for 9 days. The description listed along with photos does not do justice to what you get. This is one of the best bargains I found and it exceded our expectations. The view you get is awesome. You open the front door and it just takes your breath. The condo is new, clean furnished with anything you might need to live. Everything is provided except you. The owner is great to work with and onsite managment takes care of details and helps with setting up tours you might need. We plan on returning and this will be our pick again. Quiet, tranquil, sunsets, no crowds or loud parties yet only minutes to many restaurants and shopping or anny beaches. What else can you ask for.
