The property is very well kept and check in process was very easy. The sunsets from the Lanai were amazing. The beach out front is calm and made for a great spot for early morning and sunset swims.
We will definitely consider sugar beach again for future vacations on Maui. Mahalo !

This condo is in Kihei. This was our first time to Maui, and weren’t sure where it stay on the island. Kihei is the perfect location. It’s between Lahaina and Kaanapali in one direction and Wailea in the other direction. It’s a little breezy in Kihei, but on warm days it is refreshing.

Very peaceful and quiet complex, which was perfect! Nicely furnished. The staff at the resort is really friendly and helpful, as are the owners of the condo. We enjoyed watching whales breaching and playing off in the distance and got into the aloha spirit that is Hawaii. Just what we needed!

Pros: gorgeous view from the balcony, clean unit, well-stocked with basic supplies, awesome access to nice beach, good WiFi
Cons: thin walls, very hard water pressure in the shower, squeaky fan, flat pillows, no binder of local recommendations you typically find at other rentals, no way to stream to TV (only important if you’re stuck inside on a rainy day, which we were)
Overall the pros outweighed the cons, and we enjoyed our stay! There are just a couple improvements that could make this a 5-star stay. Thank you, Rich and Suzanne.

Right on the beach! Highly recommend staying here. If your exploring the Island this is perfect location to access all areas. Sunsets are amazing and there is ocean front pool and bar restaurant right on grounds. You can also book all of your adventures on site. PERFECT 🤩

We absolutely loved our stay at this property. It's convenient to many areas. We felt very safe. The pool area is really nice if you aren't an ocean person. The condo had everything we needed. Shower pressure was great. The A/C was cold. The bed was comfortable. The reason why I booked this condo was for the views and they did not disappoint. Communication from the hosts was excellent. I would highly recommend this property for a stay in Kihei.

This Sugar Beach resort property more than met our expectations! The pictures are great but the experience of being right on the beach, listening to the waves and watching the nightly sunset from the lanai cannot be captured! The grounds were beautiful, pool awesome, you can rent snorkel gear right there, walking distance to an ABC store as well as Sugar Beach Bake shop, quiet beach for morning and evening walks, I could go on and on!! Unit was beautiful, clean, comfortable, updated, and had everything you need for a day on the beach. I highly recommend this property!!

Our stay was great. The condo had everything we needed. Just big enough for us two. The onsite office gave great advice. Very quiet and family friendly. Be sure to book all excursions in advance. Sugar beach water is a little dark from the sand, but several other beaches around to pick from. Loved eating breakfast on the balcony. Internet service wasn't the greatest but we made due. Overall, would stay again!

We stayed at Sugar Beach 216 for 5 nights while we explored the south shore, up country and the Road to Hana and we couldn’t have asked for a better location with easy access to all of those places. The condo was very clean, the bed was super comfortable, and the condo had everything we could possibly need (the Tommy Bahama chairs, cooler and beach umbrella we used almost every day!) If we ever come back to Maui we will stay here again. Mahalo!

The condo was exactly as described on web site. We have stayed many times in different units here and this was definitely the cleanest and well stocked with everything needed for cooking in. The view from the deck was amazing. We watched whales cruising out front almost daily. New Tommy Bahama chairs were delivered while we were there. You won’t go wrong choosing this unit for your vacation.

We had an amazing stay at Sugar Beach 216. The unit was clean and well furnished and decorated. The bed was extremely comfortable. This unit has an amazing view from the lanai, and sugar beach is a wonderful spot to swim and sunbath. Clean and well cared for grounds, pool & hot tub too. If we come back to Maui we would choose to stay here!

We had an amazing stay in Maui! The island is beautiful and we had great weather while we were there in early October. The beach at Sugar Beach is long and was not very crowded while we were there. The water is not super clear there, but was still safe to swim in. It was quite windy in Kihei, but the breeze often felt great. The pool and hot tub were clean and the property was well maintained. The condo was fairly clean and comfortable for two people. The coffee pot was cracked so we could not use that, but there was also a french press that worked fine. The shower curtain was a bit mildewy and the water pressure was so hard it sprayed all over the bathroom. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be returning to Maui to explore more of the island and all it has to offer!

The pictures for this unit do not do it justice. The views from the lanai were gorgeous. The beach is just outside the unit. It was very clean and well stocked. We had everything we needed. Excellent communication with owners. All questions were answered in a timely manner. When we come back to Maui we will try to stay here again.

This is no joke, the view was as pretty as the pictures, we will be back someday again. Condo was perfect, everything we needed, clean and really quiet at night, even though close to the stairs and elevator, we never really heard to much with bedroom windows closed. Great airflow and just wonderful views and people watching on the beach. Beach so close and easy to get to, loved sitting right on the beach a few steps away. Thank you got the beautiful stay. The bed was so comfortable too.

This is my first time to Maui, and my husbands second since he was a teenager. The stay at Sugar Beach resort has been truly lovely. Room 216 didn’t disappoint, it was exactly as described. The room is perfect for two people, and the ocean isn’t but 20 yards from the lanai. We were able to sit and have breakfast watching the water, and at night you can hear the ocean in the bedroom. It was really great to have a good A/C and a washer/dryer in the room. The amenities provided were great! The pool and hot tub were big and not terribly full so that was cool. The property was quiet and all the staff were friendly. The location is a bit north of town but it’s less than a 5 min drive there and it’s nice to not feel so crowded with other condos. The view and atmosphere here is the best and next time we come to Maui, we will certainly be staying in Sugar Beach 216 again. Mahalo!

Had an awesome stay in condo 216, smooth check-in, everything was as pictured. Amazing lanai with perfect sunset views, watched the whales jumping all day long! Pool was great, plenty of lawn chairs to go around. We did breakfasts in the condo and found it very well stocked. Beach chairs and umbrella were great. About a 10-15 minute drive to Kihei, close to Paia and to airport. Would definitely return!

The location is perfect. The ocean and beach are beautiful and conveniently located. At some resorts, you need to cross the highway to get to the ocean. Not here as you are literally on the beach. The ocean side of the Plantation building has the best views in my opinion.
You will need a rental car, or the ability to taxi or uber from here. We rented a car and were easily able to navigate the island. This condo includes parking, which was convenient. We also used the services of the activity center that is included with the condo rental: Maui Sights and Treasures. Mary was able to get us tickets and deals to several activities that I had not even considered. Everything we did was fabulous! She also recommended restaurants, highlighted a map for us to help us get around, and gave us lots of helpful insights including the best time of day to visit sights. The staff was really helpful.
As for the condo, ours was great. Very clean. Updated floors, bathroom, and kitchen. Very comfortable furniture. All the items you needed for a great stay. We stopped at the Safeway nearby and bought our own food and household items. Np. There are grills by the beach if you want to use them. There is a pool, but we did not use it as we prefer ocean swimming. The beach, area around the pool, and the property were clean and well maintained.
I cannot say enough good things about this place. I vacation every year with my daughter and she said that this was the best stay she ever had. Considering that we usually stay at 4 and 5 star resorts, that says a lot. I researched several hotels and condos on Maui and the Sugar Beach area before settling on this one. I would stay here again without hesitation.

All I wanted in a VRBO when I visited Maui was to have an ocean view and this place offered that and so much more. The condo is literally right on the ocean and the owners provide everything you'll ever need to enjoy your stay - dishes, beach towels, sunscreen, condiments, even boogie boards and beach chairs! I spent every morning drinking coffee on the lanai and watching the sunrise. My only critique is that there aren't any restaurants or shops within walking distance. It's about 4 miles from downtown Kihei, but we had a rental car and the ocean views were 100% worth it. Definitely stoked on this find and would absolutely stay here again.

The pictures of this place are beautiful but it still falls short of the experience. The place is clean and fully stocked with everything we needed. The location is close to everything and being central in the island it was never a far drive away to see the sites. You're basically on the beach and it feels like a private beach its never crowded. The resort its self has everything you need to be able to fully experience Maui. We will definitely love to come back. Mahalo for making our stay so memorable
