This was a great location and beautiful property. It was exactly as described. Very quiet neighborhood which was a huge plus and the neighbors were friendly. Very well stocked kitchen and everything you need is close by. Nice pool access and beach area with lounge chairs.

Betty and Mike have thought of everything and more. The condo was even better than advertised. Clean, easy to check in (even at midnight) and precise and accurate directions from the airport. The grounds were immaculate with beautiful views of the sea. On our last day several pods of spinner dolphins porpoised by the condo exhuberantly jumping clear of the water by two to three feet. Just amazing. All memories that will live with us for the rest of our lives. Thank you so much Betty and Mike for sharing your beautiful condo.

We really enjoyed our stay here! The condo was stacked with everything we could need and was extremely clean which is important to us. We watched the sunset almost every night from the beach area and even grilled steaks a few nights while we were there. We also liked the facts that there are no pets allowed in the association. The location was great for both Kona activities and places farther south.

Adequate for the price. Quiet and close to the water. No beach to swim off but that seems to be Big Island specific. Beaches are close by however. Not big beaches but beaches nonetheless. Pool was great. Sunsets at the edge of the water also really nice.

This is a nice condo in a quiet complex.
It's very well equipped with all the cooking tools you will need, as well as beach chairs,coolers snorkle equipment and beach umbrellas you can use.
The location is right between downtown, and several swim/snorkle beaches.
The sunset's are fantastic.
The owners are quick to respond to questions, and are very helpfull.

This is a nice condo with green space and ocean views from the lanai. A great grilling area oceanfront and plenty of tables and chairs for outdoor oceanfront dining adds to the experience.

This was the perfect spot for our trip to Hawaii. Clean and cozy ground floor unit with strategically placed bushes to afford a little extra privacy. It was a short stroll (Mai Tais in hands) to the 'beach' for sunset and watching the waves. There are a few tidepools to check out along the shore (keep an eye on the waves) and if you're lucky you can find a few Cowrie shells. The oceanfront grilling area was spectacular. We even saw a pod of dolphins swimming by while grilling. There is a small convenience/liquor store right next door, you can walk to the Ali'i Gardens Marketplace and it's less than a five minute drive to Da Poke Shack for some excellent takeout. It's best to visit the grocery store (Safeway in Kailua is brand new and had great pre-made options for taking to the beach) before heading to the condo as most of them are on the other side of town. Overall, this is a perfect base for a couple to explore all that the Big Island has to offer!

We stayed for 2 weeks to explore the island. This condo is in a small, quiet complex with a nice pool and a seating/bbq area bordering the ocean. There is no beach access. It is only a few minutes to the main town of Kona and a few minutes to great beaches. Dedicated parking for the united a washer/dryer was a plus. The owners have stocked everything you could need for beach visits, cooking and day trips. We really appreciated this attention to detail. The air conditioning worked well for the living room area. It was a bit humid during our time on the island and while fans were plentiful, it was a bit stuffy to sleep in the bedroom. That would be our only con. Otherwise this was a great place to stay!

We loved staying at Kona Isle. Location was great for all that we wanted to see on the island - and we saw every part of the island! Lots of great snorkeling, beaches and restaurants, shops, farmers market nearby. Condo was spacious and well stocked. Loved the beach chairs, towels, boogie board, skim board, umbrella, coolers, binoculars were great for viewing the volcano. Loved the ground level and ability to walk from the lanai to the ocean which was very close. Would definitely stay here again.

The unit is ground floor easy to walk out to pool and ocean. It was clean and stocked with plenty of towels. Loved the washer and dryer. The AC was also a great feature. Since the AC was off when we arrived, it took about 4 hours for the bedroom to get cooled off but once we turned it on, it kept the place cool. Would definitely recommend to a couple as it was perfect for just 2 people.

Very nice ground floor condo with easy accessibility and steps from the ocean with two pools, one a salt water public pool right at the edge and the other part of the property. Close to many island excursions in the ocean. About 2 hrs from the active volcano. Nice kitchen to cook food and a pull out couch in living room.

We were there for a family wedding so did not spend a huge amount of time there. The onsite property manager was amazing when I had some inquiries. I was under the impression the unit was facing waterfront however so was disappointed in that but this could very well be my haste in booking without an in depth look at the property. Nicely updated and though we didn't use much seemed well stocked.

The hosts were very gracious with letting us reschedule after Covid hit. They respond quickly to questions and allowed us an earlier arrival since no one was in the day before we arrived. Good location for sure. The grounds are well manicured. The units are older and with the humidity they have a bit of a musty closed up smell that got in all our clothes and hair. Nothing a washer and shower didn’t take care of. Lots of extras in the kitchen-spices, baggies that was really, helpful. Only had 1 roll of tp though so buy more when you are there.

Kona Isle grounds are excellent as well as the location. Other guests and owners were very friendly and made it a joy to watch the nightly sunsets. Assigned parking space added bonus.

The free trolley stop is next. It goes up to the KTA grocery store and to the tourist area with shops and restaurants. We will be back.

We so enjoyed our stay. Condo was comfortable and well supplied. We loved being just a walk down the lush lawn to the surf. Spent many hours lounging in Sandy area watching the waves. Landscaping and birds were wonderful. The condo buildings face each other. So you do See the lives of others while you are on the Lanai. But everyone was quiet, respectful, not intrusive. If you like mixing there was a friendly gathering at sunset each day on oceanfront. Location is good. 2 mile walk to town, or there is public bike share just up the hill from condo. Liked the mini Mart next door. And the salt water public pool next door was fun. We would definitely stay here again.

This place was great! It was a short drive into downtown Kona so perfect location. The condo was well stocked, there wasn’t anything I felt like it was missing. There’s a bbq area that looks out to the ocean which was perfect for sunset dinner. This was probably the best place I’ve ever stayed on VRBO, we didn’t want to leave. Highly recommend!

We had an amazing experience at the property. The condo is very clean and quiet, in spite on being located on Alii Drive. Next door is a convenience store to meet your daily needs. The property includes a clean and well maintained pool and the landscaping is truly Hawaiian. The neighbors were quiet and many rentals seemed to work for families. The condo itself is well stocked with snorkeling gear, beach umbrellas, coolers for a quick day trip around the island. The location is a short drive to Magic Sands beach and downtown where there are many restaurants. We had a great time and would certainly recommend this condo. Thanks for hosting us.

Aloha! After a long year, we cautiously planned our escape to the Big Island. A minor mishap was quickly resolved with gracious support from the owners. We were not disappointed with the condo, so well located and equipped with everything we needed. Comfortable bed, with the bathroom and kitchen attractively updated. All kitchen tools, towels, boogie boards and more added to our comfort. Walking out on the lanai, just two minutes down a path to the ocean for every gorgeous sunset became a nightly ritual.
Even after 10 days, we still never tired of the condo, amenities, location and are so grateful to have a chance to experience deep relaxation. We’ll be back! Mahalo!

The condo is excellent - beautiful kitchen and bathroom. The king size bed was very comfortable. My son did not complain about the sofa sleeper, so it must’ve been ok too. The condo complex is very nice it’s a great pool - not fancy but very clean with nice seating around it. This is a great place to stay. Very convenient location too.

Many thanks for the perfect place for our holidays. My husband, our 9-year-old daughter and myself liked your place very much.
1. The place is very neat and clean and provides pretty much everything you need during your vacation. Nice and convenient kitchen, laundry/dryer, bathroom, bedroom and living room. Plenty of things you need for the beach (towels, mat, cooler bags, toys, umbrellas).
2. Love the ground floor and the outside BBQ/tables. Enjoyed sunsets and outside dinners by the ocean for several times. Also enjoyed the heated swimming pool and the saltwater pool just outside the compound.
3. Convenient location. Closed to farmers market, grocery shopping and restaurants. Enjoyed almost every day snorkeling and swimming with wild dolphins in south Kona and boogie boarding in north Kona.
So we wish to come back again soon! Thank you.

Condo was great with all the amenities. Grounds were lovely/great views and well kept up. Also very quiet, not touristy.The unit was nicely located and made a good home base for our travels. You will need a rental car to enjoy Big Island! We enjoyed staying here, but the beach right off the resort is not a good swimming beach, you will have to go further south or elsewhere in Big Island. Great experience, would stay there again.

The condo we stayed in was family friendly, very clean and comfortable. We had everything we needed in the condo and the kitchen was well supplied with all the basics. The condo was very oganized and was easy to find what you needed such as beach towels and toys. We really enjoyed our stay at the Kona Isle. The pool was clean and refreshing and the beach area's were great for relaxing or hunting for shells and exploring the sea life in the tide pools.
I would highly recommend the condo we stayed at the Kona Isle.

My wife and I stayed here 8 nights in mid-November and were most pleased. Everything was as described in the listing. The local manager/repairman lives opposite this unit and provided a quick fix needed in the bathroom! The photos are faithful to reality. Unit C4 is in the middle of the south unit that has lanais facing the large lawn area to the north, so no sunshine problem here. It's only a short walk across the grass and then sidewalk to the ocean, where we sat often and cooked out (3 well maintained gas grills and the grounds are always well-groomed). Watching the yellow tang suddenly appear as the waves break was fascinating. We had one great sunset and several other nice ones. One day we climbed down to below the salt pool and reveled as a sea turtle dined on the algae between the rocks. We recommend the Green Flash for coffee and sandwiches a few blocks north, as well as the Rapanui Islands Restaurant near the pier in town for either wonderful vegetarian or meat Asian type meals. Kona Brewing is not to be missed for beer and food! The trolley bus runs often (except Sunday) up and down Ali'i (uh-lee'-e) Drive for $2 per person for each boarding (ride as long as you like, says the driver) so you never have to rent a car in Kona to get to the supermarkets, restaurants, etc. Otherwise it's a 2 mile walk into town. Magic Sands Beach is nearest, maybe a mile south. Taxi from Kona airport is about $40 plus $1/ bag. Road noise is very minimal, although on occasion at night a few residents talking/walking by the bedroom window would awaken us. There are virtually no children here (most are seniors) although they would be welcome and would enjoy the heated pool. Owners Mike and Betty are to commended for going above and beyond to make Kona Isle C4 a great place to stay.

My wife and I spent 3 weeks at Mike and Betty's condo in August/September 2012. It was a near perfect experience. The condo was very well furnished and equipped. We had one minor problem with the garbage disposal and it was fixed the same day we reported it. We had nothing but pleasant interactions with the other people staying at the Kona Isle and with the management.
