The condo was perfect - It was comfortable and had plenty of space for the 6 of us. It was well stocked with everything we needed. And it had a beautiful view of the ocean. I was very thankful for the AC in the bedrooms! They did a really good job of keeping the whole condo a comfortable temperature.
We didn’t really need anything during our stay but the one time I texted the property manager she was quick to respond!
We would definitely stay here again.

We really enjoyed our stay. The condo is modern, comfortable, well equipped, and well maintained with a huge washer and dryer. There’s a nice pool and beautiful ocean views. It’s a long walk or short drive to the nearest beach and stores. The wonderful McBryde and Allerton Botanical Gardens are nearby and are highly recommended.

The property was gorgeous! We had ocean views from the lanai, as well as it overlooking the pool. Noise does travel in this complex, but the quiet hours from 9pm-9am really help. It’s a quick walk down the hill to Turtle Cove, Brenneckies, and Baby Beach. The beds were all comfortable. The kitchen well stocked. We had a wonderful stay and would absolutely stay here again!

I stayed at this condo with my immediate family (husband and two teens age 14 and 16) and my mother- and father-in-law who are in their 60s. Everyone was very comfortable and slept well while we were here, which is saying something because many of my family members have trouble sleeping when we are at home. Beds were comfortable, condo was clean, affordable and decorated super cute, and the ocean view was awesome! It’s so relaxing to wake up every day and eat breakfast on the lanai listening to the birds and watching the ocean. Just minutes from Poipu beach. I’d definitely rent here again!!

Enjoyed our stay in Poipu. We were 5 adults spending one week. Clean, lots of water toys and beach chairs. Location great, walking distance to beach ( 5-7 minutes) walking distance to heritage trail a must do. Views of ocean were great as pictures show. Condo comfortably fits 5 adults. Beds comfortable, has air conditioning but never used as breeze from ocean was enough. Building itself is showing its age, there is work being done on building but never disrupted our stay. We had a screen missing from one of the windows on arrival. Vicki Agor very prompt in correcting issue.

Upon opening front door we noticed food crumbs on rug under the coffee table. As we entered the condo we saw that the floor had not been swept or cleaned at all. It was covered with food, sand and hair. We also found an entire load of towels in the dryer that I ended up folding and placing on the kitchen table for housekeeping to put away. We contacted the property manager who told us she would send someone right away. We only stayed 3 nights and on the evening of the 3 night the towels were put away and a vacuum appeared but floor was never cleaned. If property was better maintained by housekeeping I am sure I could give a much better review as it’s a good location and a good set up for at least 6 people.

This is our second time staying in the complex. It's well located within walking distance to Poipu beach (10 min). The exterior lighting is poor but that is common in Kauai. The condo had a good layout for 4 adults & 2 kids. The beds were comfortable and there was AC in each room (though it was too noisy to have on at night). There was also a good supply of beach stuff. The kitchen was not well appointed and we found we had to wash dishes twice a day to have enough glasses and cutlery for dinner. There were a couple of minor maintenance issues noted and we had to buy new lightbulbs for the kitchen. Other than that it was comfortable and had a nice view of the pool and ocean from the lanai.

Somehow we got booked here even though we booked and stayed in two different units in this same complex. We never recieved a VRBO confirmation email nor was it listed in my trips. I think we were charged as well and I reached out to get a refund several times but never received a response.

The property was nice, and was plenty big enough for the 6 of us (4 adults, 2 kids). The floor was very dirty, and there were ants on the counter. Both of these problems are pretty easily solved, and hopefully will be in short order. The main issue is, when we informed the management office, the response was very non-caring.

We enjoyed this condo! The location was perfect and it was fully stocked with everything you need! It's a little older of a condo and a tad outdated. . Our one and only issue was with the staff. Our first morning in the condo we called for the WIFI password since there wasn't one in the condo. Vicky the woman that answered our call said she was on her lanai feeding her cats and to call back later. I asked if there was something in the condo that had the info/password so I didnt have to call back. She very rudely said, "I'm sure there is" not the Aloha spirit we were hoping for. We hope that the next guest are treated a little nice.

We were very happy with the location, the layout, and plenty of room for 5 people. The only complaint is the cleaning prior to our checkin. Floor was the worse. Everybody had to wear shoes and wash feet before bed. Dirty linen left in washer. Dishwasher full of clean dishes. Not a deal breaker for me just a suggestion for whoever oversees cleaning.

My husband and I vacationed in Kauai with our daughter and her husband for a weekend getaway as part of their visit from Massachusetts. The unit we rented was beautifully furnished and equipped with beach gear and a very nicely supplied kitchen. We had most everything we needed to have a lovely base from which to visit Waimea,Koloa,Lihus And Kapaa. Great eateries available both casual and fancier for celebration. All of us enjoyed our little retreat for the weekend.

Our family of 5 stayed here very comfortably. It is the perfect location -- ocean view but still easily able to access other areas of the island. We didn't make use of the beach chairs and boogie boards in the closets but it was nice knowing they were available. It was great to have access to beach towels and washer/ dryer as well. The first night we accidentally forgot and left muffins on the counter and woke up to what looked like ghost ants on them. So make sure you don't leave food out. Overall, it was a great place to stay and we would love to visit again!

Pros: Great location and property amenities. Tons of toys, snorkel sets, boogie boards and more which were great for the kids.
Cons:
The primary bedroom is a 3 slide semi transparent door that doesn't lock. The light issue mentioned in other reviews still exists and I probably just didn't read close enough but there wasn't any air conditioning units.
Over all It was a great stay.

What an amazing stay! They had everything you needed from bath essentials to kitchen wear. And of course, the ocean view from the balcony was gorgeous! Every morning, the balcony was the meeting spot! It was clean, comfortable, and a convenient location. It was a little warm since there wasn’t AC, but nothing all the fans and fresh air couldn’t take care of. A portable AC unit could come in handy though! A few lights were out in the kitchen, but it didn’t bother us too much. We would definitely book this place again. :)

Let me just say Kauai is expensive by Arizona standards so perhaps we expected too much. My last visit to Hawaii we stayed at a Westin timeshare which probably spoiled me forever. This condo served our needs well but it was not as luxurious as we had hoped. The location is great. The furnishings and some of the fixtures are a bit run down but talking to other guests we did not feel we were overcharged comparatively. It was really hot the week we visited and the trade winds helped since no air conditioning but some of our windows did not have screens and so we were reluctant to leave them open. The kitchen was very dark because 3 lights were out. I notified management via email but did not get a response so I think they already knew about it because there was a lamp in the kitchen. That leads me to believe it is an electrical problem and not just burned out bulbs. I didn’t want to spend precious vacation time pursuing it so we just coped. Also the dining room rug is turned up on one end and it is a trip hazard. We thought about turning it around but did not want to move the heavy glass top table so we just put a couple of books on it to hold it down. Bathrooms are nice but shower is a bit slippery so owners might consider putting in a grab bar. We were pleased with how well the condo was stocked with everything we needed, soap, shampoo, garbage bags, coffee filters, even sunscreen and everything for the beach from towels to chairs to boogie board to cooler….very thoughtful. We really enjoyed the Poipu Athletic Club membership and wished we had visited it sooner. One caveat, do not think you can get around the island without a car…..and rental cars are really expensive right now.

- So great to have beach chairs, umbrella, snorkeling gear, floaties, cooler etc.

- Convenient location but a 10 min walk to the closest swimmable beach
- You could not touch the curtain rod in the second shower or it would fall down
- A handful of kitchen lights didn't have bulbs so it was fairly dark
- No AC but it wasn't a big problem for us (we only slept with a sheet and fan on high)

The Condo was beautiful and functional in all aspects. Overlooking the pool and easy access to the parking lot. Located in between Poipu beach and Shipwreck Beach it was easy to walk or drive anywhere to enjoy the sites.

This is a great location! The pool is nice and clean. The condo is spacious and the kitchen has pots and pans etc. if you want to cook. Loved having a washer and dryer. The floor was quite dirty, even when we got there. We didn’t walk around barefoot in the condo. The mats in front of the sink in each bathroom are quite slippery when they get wet, I’d suggest replacing them. Overall we loved our visit here! We also liked having the beach chairs and boogie boards. Thanks so much!

Only complaints are they toss everything so if you are cooking you have to provide all your own condiments and spices/seasonings. Also had anti fatigue mats instead of bath mat in bathroom that wasn’t very practical. Had great selection of beach supplies (including towels) although we didn’t need them..

When we opened the door to our unit, it was evident that it had not been cleaned. I called the management office and they were here immediately. They explained that there was a mix up in scheduling but they would have the room ready in 2 hours. We went to dinner and while we were dining received a call that the room was ready. Several other small issues but they were all resolved quickly. Vicki returned text messages and phone calls immediately and was a joy to work with.
The unit is nicely decorated with everything you need including some seasoning (salt, pepper, sugar, soy sauce etc). There are many other useful things like bogie boards, coolers, Beach towels and chairs, board games, books.
The property is located right on the ocean. You have view of the ocean as well as the pool. If you open the sliders and the front door, you'll feel a strong, Cool breeze most of the day. There' are several walking paths along the coast on either side of the complex. Beautiful scenery with sounds of the breaking waves makes for a pleasant walk.
Everything contributed to a wonderful 5 days for me and my family.

We loved our stay at Makahuena 2203. The location was perfect, just a short walk from beaches appropriate for bodysurfing/bodyboarding, keiki beaches for our 4 and 6 year olds and a baby beach for our 1 year old. The condo had fresh orchids when we arrived and opened up to a beautiful ocean view. Whales and turtles regularly swam by the cliffs outside the property. The place is roomy and comfortable, and the kitchen was well-stocked with anything we needed. We used the beach toys and bodyboards and beach towels (mahalo!). Wifi was super easy too. We moved some stuff out of the way of the 1 yr old because he is starting to grab everything in reach, but overall very easy and would definitely come again. Thank you so much for sharing your home!

Our condo was very clean and complete, and convenient. Had wireless internet, printer, etc. Only problem was that we had to have the owner contacted to find out how to turn the ceiling fans on. You have to turn a switch on the actual ceiling fan above the blades. Other than that, was a very nice stay. Thanks!

This is a great location, a busy condo complex, lots of people and noise, but walking distance from three of the best beaches on the south shore. Had trouble connecting with the Internet, trouble getting information from the management staff, ended up calling the carrier and solving it ourselves. Good price for a great location.
